I turned to look at my phone 'Oh, it's just 7 o'clo...IT'S 7 ALREADY!' I got out of my bed and took my Pokéballs 'Murphy law, everything that can go wrong will go wrong, with the added extra at the worst possible time.' I had to tempt fate did I 'Oh, I nearly forgot the shoes.' I ran back to my room to wear the LASS shoes before sprinting back to the Hulbury Stadium 'There it is, the Hulbury Stadium.' The place was around to same size as Turffield Stadium, but a bit more refined 'Eh, probably had more funding with her side job being a model.' I then entered the Stadium
'First things, first, Ball Guy.' Immediately when I entered, I headed toward Ball Guy 'I would question how he is in two places at the same time, but it might just be the Nurse Joy conundrum all over again and they just look the same but are two different people or Ball guy is just a person in a costume, both make logical sense.' I went over to him and got a Lure Ball 'Welp, now onto the challenge...right after I change.' I went the changing room to change into my gym uniform, after I finished, I headed over to the receptionist and showed her my reservation, the receptionist then let me in. 'Welp, I really want to say something, but all of them sound cringy.'
"Hello! I am Gym Trainer Julia, as you know, I will be here to tell you the instructions for the gym challenge!" I nodded "You will need to navigate through a maze, however, some paths will be blocked by streams of water, you can deactivate the water pipes by pressing the switch, there are three color switches, and pressing one of them will activate the pipes of the same color, but deactivate all current pipes of the same color, you may withdraw the challenge whenever you like, however, the maze will be reset." I nodded my head 'Welp, thank god for that tutorial I googled when I was doing Nessa's gym challenge.' I started to run immediately towards the Red button on the right while evading the gym trainer stationed there 'Alright, the water should cut out by now.' The Yellow button is now in sight, I ran towards the Yellow button 'Oh crap, it's a gym trainer.' I immediately halted and thought of a plan 'The games never really let you jump and evade gym trainers by simply distracting them or doing parkour.' Now that I had a plan, I needed to decide on which one to use 'So I could do it like Mirror's Edge or like Watch Dogs, but they already know that I am here, so Mirro's Edge it is.' I walked back a bit, before sprinting with all my might to gain momentum before hopping on the stairs, then jumping onto a platform between two pipes, I then jumped down next to the Yellow button and pressed it 'Man, all that hassle for a single button.' I then jumped back on the platform before jumping to the stairs 'I think battling the gym trainers would be better at this point.' I backtracked to the nearest Red button and pressed it 'Why did I have to do that? I already parkoured my way over there, eh, Nessa won't like me for skipping the entirety of the gym challenge.' I went back to the stairs and headed left on the upper floor 'At least this gym trainer is easily avoidable.' I walked past when she was looking elsewhere 'Alright, Yellow button' I then ran towards the red button and made it out when she was still looking elsewhere 'Alright, onto the battle now.' I wonder how differently will Nessa react to a trainer who isn't endorsed by the champion.
The grey hallways greeted me 'Welp, let's see how many people are here this time.' I walked towards the battlefield and saw around a hundred to two hundred people 'Not a bad crowd size, but still probably a very small amount compared to early months.' "Good morning folks! Today we have an interesting challenger battling our Gym Leader! All the way from Motostoke, give it up for challenger William Brown!" The crowd applauds "So, you are the challenger that beat Milo's Eldegoss without Dynamaxing." Huh, Milo told her my gym challenge with him "Colour me impressed, but I'll tell you now that I will not be as easy as him." Ah yes, her inner competitiveness is spilling out, too sad she hasn't faced the true horror of the competitive scene "To make it past my gym challenge without being detected is truly a feat, I've have never seen a challenger avoid my gym trainers, usually, they battle them instead, to patiently wait for an opportunity to pass by, your mind as a Pokémon trainer must be very refined." I just ran before they could notice my presence, that's how I passed stealth missions in Payday "No matter what kind of plan your refined mind is plotting, my partner and I will be sure to sink it." isn't that the line she said in the games? Does she reuse lines? Best not to think of that right now, the battle is more important. The referee walked onto the battlefield "This match will be a three-on-two standard battle between Challenger William Brown and Gym Leader Nessa. The match will end when all Pokémon on the team are unable to battle. Only the challenger may substitute, and they may only do so once." I griped Carkol Pokéball "Please select your first Pokémon." We both threw out our Pokéball at the same time, and Goldeen and Carkol appeared on the battlefield "It seems like Goldeen has the type advantage here, however, Carkol may just win this battle with pure strength and determination." Let's hope that Goldeen uses Water Pulse to activate Steam Engine "Are you ready!" We both nodded "Begin!"
"Goldeen, use Water Pulse!" Perfect "Carkol, tank the hit! Water Puluse hits Carkol, and almost instantly starts producing steam 'Yes! All according to plan.' Goldeen looks wearily "Carkol, get up close and use Incinerate !" Carkol speeds toward Goldeen "Goldeen, stop it with Whirlpool!" Unfortunately for Goldeen, Carkol evades the attack with ease "Goldeen!" Carkol slams into Goldeen and the sheer force of the slam knocks Goldeen away, Carkol then follows up with an Incinerate 'Goldeen should be somewhat low by now.' Goldeen gets back up "Goldeen use agility!' Ah, trying to match in speed now aren't we "Don't let Goldeen use Agility!" Carkol understood this command and immediately rushed towards Goldeen again "Alright, Carkol, close the gap with Rapid Spin!" Carkol starts to rapids spin in a circle while quickly advancing towards Goldeen "Goldeen, move back and use Drill, and quickly follow up with Water Pulse!" Nope, not letting that happen "Dodges the attacks." Carkol evaded Horn Drill, however, Water Pulse hit Carkol, and the attack completely halted Rapid Spin 'Shit, back to square one.' Steam starts to rapidly emit out of Carkol's back, Steam Engine is at full power, and Carkol is now one of the fastest Pokémon on the battlefield 'At least Carkol is faster than all of Nessa Pokémon, not like that will make a difference if Carkol faints before taking out Goldeen.' Carkol steadies himself "Goldeen, use Agility!" She is trying to close the gap in speed, but sadly it won't work for her "Carkol, fire a barrage of Rock Blast." Carkol fires off six shots of Rock Blast "Goldeen dodge them!" Good, now Goldeen is preoccupied, we strike "Carkol, Rapid spin again!" Carkol spins rapidly toward Goldeen before Nessa can say a word, Carkol slams into Goldeen, sending it to the ground "Incinerate it while it's down." Carkol unleashes a torrent of fire onto Goldeen, effectively knocking it out "Goldeen is unable to battle, the round goes to Challenger William Brown!" The LASS camera crew, who I didn't notice were here before, were ecstatic at my victory "And Goldeen goes down to a torrent of fire! Carkol would normally be at a disadvantage, however, Carkol's ability, Steam Engine, gives it a dramatic speed boost, allowing it to outspeed Goldeen and land a finishing blow! How will Nessa respond?" Arrokuda should be next, I can only hope to land a hit on it before Carkol goes down "Very impressive thinking on making use of Sream Engine, if Carkol didn't have that ability, your plan would have sunk." Actually, I would just ram into Goldeen until it faints if Carkol didn't have Steam Engine "Gym Leader Nessa, please choose your next Pokemon!" Nessa threw out Arrokuda Pokéball "Match two, Arrokuda vs Carkol, begins!" Carkol tries to gain the initiative by striking first "Arrokuda, use Auqa Jet!" Ah shit "Carkol, dodge it!" Carkol successfully dodges the Auqa Jet due to sheer speed 'If he had been any slower, Carkol would have gone down right this instant.' Carkol waits for my command "Alright, Carkol, start off with Smokescreen, then proceed to harass them through the smoke with Rock Blast." I hope Carkol knows Smokescreen, or else I would look stupid. Carkol produces a plume of smoke that obscures Arrokuda's vision "Arrokuda, Auqa Jet into the smoke and find Carkol, it can't be far!" Arrokuda dashes into the smoke but gets interrupted by a rock hitting its face, and another, and another, in total Rock Blast hits seven times "No more! Arrokuda finds Carkol through the smoke and uses Crunch." It's been good knowing you pal. Arrokuda manages to find Carkol through the smoke, Carkol tries to avoid the attack, unfortunately, Carkol could not get out of the way fast enough before the attack hits "CARR!" And Carkol goes down for the remainder of the battle "Carkol is unable to battle, the round goes to Gym Leader Nessa!" I swear I could hear someone in the crowd saying "Did you catch that on camera?" Alright, Porygon is up next "Carkol goes down to Arrokuda! That was a swift round, however, Carkol did manage to get some good hits in. What will be Challenger William Brown's next Pokémon?" A crit Thunderbolt will finish the job, then it will only be Drednaw "Challgner William Brown, please choose your next Pokémon!" I threw out Porygon Pokéball "Match three, Porygon vs Arrokuda, begins!" Porygon enters the battlefield prepared for any threats "Alright, Porygon, let's start off strong with Thunder Shock." Porygon sends a bolt of electricity into the sky before it quickly lands directly on Arrokuda "Arrokuda, counter with Liquidation!" Excuse me, how the fuck does Arrokuda know tha- oh wait I forgot I am in the anime world. Arrokuda attempted to use Liquidation, but paralysis took hold and interrupted the attack "Porygon, you know what to do," Porygon fired off a power bolt of lighting into the sky, Arrokuda made an attempt to evade Thunderbolt, however, it was not fast enough to do so "Arrokuda..." it made one last wail before fainting "Arrodua is unable to battle, the round goes to Challenger William Brown!" One last Pokémon "Arrokuda is out of the count! After being wilted down by Carkol, Arrokuda gets hit with a Thunder Shock followed up with a Thunderbolt! How will Gym leader Nessa respond to Porygon? What will she do to counter it?" One last Pokémon, and it all be over "Gym Leader Nessa, please choose your Pokémon!" Nessa griped Dreadnaw Pokémon "Looks like I'm down to my last Pokémon. I've been saving the best for last!" Nessa throws out Dreadnaw Pokéball "Dreadnaw!" with a resounding roar, Dreadnaw enters the battlefield, prepared to take revenge "Round four, Dreadnaw vs Porygon, begins!" The round begins with Porygon primitively using Conversion 2 for defense "Dreadnaw, use Razor Shell!" A Sheel came directly for Porygon, however, I did not order Porygon to get out of the way, after all, Porygon could simply tank it and counter. The attack hits Porygon, Porygon is unfazed "Thunder Shock, now!" Porygon fires a bolt of electricity. Drednaw dodges the attack with ease, however, Porygon fires off two more bolts of electricity, one slower than the other. Drednaw avoids the fastest one but gets hit by the slower one, fortunately for Nessa, Thunder Shock did not paralyze Drednaw 'I hope Porygon knows Discharge.' Drednaw counters with Liquidation "Dodge that attack!" Porygon dodges the attack with some difficulty "Tackle it now!" Porygon rushes toward Dreadnaw, Dreadnaw avoids the attack but it is now in range "Discharge." Luckily for me, Porygon did know Discharge. A field of electricity covered Porygon and Drednaw, the move hurt Dreadnaw quite badly "Dreadnaw, use Jaw Lock!" I did not predict that. Drednaw is about to attack Porygon, but staggers back as a jolt of electricity shocks it, I use the opportunity to pull Porygon back 'Alright, not doing close combat again." Porygon has made some distance between it and Drednaw so that close combat moves would no longer be effective "It's time to flood the stadium and make it our ocean! Drednaw, time to Dynamax!" Ah shit, I wished I had a Dynamax armband, things would be far easier if I did 'Porygon, Conversion 2, now!" And a hefty dose of praying to the RNG gods that Max Geyser did not just one-shot Porygon. Nessa returned Drenaw to its Pokéball before the Pokéball grew larger and larger, Nessa then proceeded to throw the Pokéball onto the battlefield, what lay there was a large Drednaw, quite intimidating, yet less so than its G-Max form "Drednaw, use Max Geyser!" I would be praying if I knew any verses from the Bible. The large torrent of water hits Porygon, sending it flying back, hitting the boundaries of the stadium, and yet Porygon stands "Porygon, spam Thunderbolt!" Porygon started to fire off Thunderbolts, one after the other, and all of them hit Drednaw "Drednaw, use Max Darkness before Porygon gets another hit on you!" Drednaw attempts to use Max Drakness, but paralysis stops it 'Paralysis, one of my favorite status effects, doesn't matter if you are Dynamax, Mega evolved, or Tarrastillize, your turn will be skipped no matter what.' Porygon witnessed the opportunity to exploit the opponent's weakness and readied itself to fire off a powerful finisher "Alright, Porygon, let's end this battle! Use Thunderbolt, full power!" Porygon charged up for a bit before it fired off a torrent of electricity into the sky. The attack crashed onto Drednaw "DREDNAW!" Drednaw explodes immediately after the attack, shrinking back to its original size "And with one last Thunderbolt, Drednaw goes down! Even when faced against a Dynamax opponent, Porygon prevails with Conversion 2 and electrical attacks! This might be the start of a rising star?" The battle is over now, and I can now rest after this "Drednaw is unable to battle, the battle goes to Gym challenger William Brown!" The crowd goes wild "How..? How did I lose to you?" She looked shocked at her defeat before her face turned neutral "I think I understand what Milo said about you being a talented new trainer, to win without Dynamaxing is truly a feat that can performed by very few new trainers, so I believe you deserve this." She handed me the Water Badge 'Two down, six to go.' I accepted the badge from her "I expect to see you at Kabo's gym next, be warned, it won't be as easy as this." I won't underestimate Kabo, he was very difficult on my first playthrough "Thank you for the advice, but I think I can pull through." After that, I left the battlefield, on the way out the receptionist gave me the water uniform and the TM for Whirlpool 'I really need to get a Dynamax band real soon.' I then headed towards my room .
On the way, I handed my Pokémon to Nurse Joy to get them healed, after getting them healed, I went back to my room, when arriving at my room, I took off my shoes and took my laptop out of my backpack "Alright, where to buy Dynamax band." After scrolling for a bit, I found a few bootleg bands, however, I did find one, the problem was that it was worth five million 'FIVE MILLION! For a goddamn Dynamax band! Why the hell did Magnolia give the protagonist and Hop one for free! Yeah, they might be endorsed by the champion, but five million is five million!' After ranting for a bit, I tried to find a way to get a Dynamax, after going through multiple pages I found a link to a website that would let you meet Chairmen Rose if you won their music competition 'They want us to post any difficult muscle piece? Oddly convenient.' I went into my downloaded files and selected Rush E, they did require verification that I was the one who played it, so I used the Fanchen version of Rush E, sure, it was not the original, but it was played by a real human being and Fanchen also hid his face, so I can easily masquerade as the person who played it. After posting it on the website, I went to post it on the musician group chat to make it seem a lot more believable than posting a new piece out of nowhere without informing the group. I then went back to the website to check the other songs people posted 'We got a few pieces from guitarists, but most of them are quite mild, but the violinists had some very good pieces, some comparable to the finest pieces of French violinists, Peir also made another rock piece.' After listening to Pier's piece, I could say that it was very good, but it does get outshined by other rock bands back on earth, but I have to give this man some credit for doing all by himself 'I'll just wait for the results tomorrow, right now I need lunch.' I went out to find the nearest restaurant.
After finishing eating lunch, I went back to my room and turned on my laptop 'Alright, time to do something productive' I went on BattleNet and searched for 'Ash Ketchum' After waiting for it to load, I checked the information

Well, I did not expect Ash to be in Hoenn already, and finish Tate and Liza's gym too. Ash will soon be in Sinnoh, it also seems like he has a big fanbase and there also seems to be...what 'No, it can't be! Why are people shipping the goddamn ten-year-old with adults!' Even in the Pokémon universe, people can't seem to not stop shipping Ash! Just forget about it...I already dealt with this once back at home. I checked Ash's team a bit more to see if anything was out of place 'Everything seems perfectly fine, nothing out of place, it seems like my existence hasn't affected the timeline...yet.' I then went to search for "Red" After waiting for the page to load, the result was "No results found" Very interesting 'It seems like I am in a mixed universe between both the anime and the games, but it seems like only minor parts of the games are included.' I then went to search for most of Ash's companions 'I can't really seem to find any information about Dawn, besides her mother being a Coordinator.' I tried a different companion 'Clemont has a dedicated fan base, it also seems like he hasn't been booted out of his gym by Clembot yet.' I typed in another name 'No information on Iris either, there is some on Cilan, but not a lot.' One last companion 'Goh…what did I expect, he probably hasn't even caught his first Pokémon.' After ending my search for the main cast, I searched for champions 'Steven is still the champion, so it's not ORAS yet' Typing in another name 'Diantha is still friend Lysandre' Hmm, it already dinner? How long was I searching? I went to find dinner, however, an idea came to me, I released Porygon 'Porygon, can you find all the data and statistics of every important person?' Porygon nodded 'I need you to do it now.' Porygon immediately transferred itself to my laptop 'You know, since this is a Chinese laptop, how good is my anti-virus?' I'll let Porygon tell me later, for now, it's off to dinner. I headed towards that restaurant that made seafood pizza.
'That was mighty fine pizza, I might go there again if I have the chance.' I then entered my room 'What the bloody hell is that sound?' I turned towards my laptop 'Oh, that explains things.' The laptop was turned on for around one to two, the system by now would be overheating 'Uh, Porygon, you alright in there?' Porygon opened the notepad on my laptop and responded "Yes, I have done what you have asked, you can check all of the data on docs. I have also found multiple trackers on your laptop. The tracker has been purged. Also, please consider downloading Chrome, I cannot deal with navigating Bing anymore." After that, Porygon transferred itself out of my laptop and immediately went back into its Pokéball 'Welp, I'll just check it tomorrow.' I hopped on my bed, closed my eyes, and let darkness embrace me.
