GUMMIES
Through Test Site B, the moans and sobs of the examinees hung over the strewn rubble and fallen robots like a fog. Students sporting concussions, blaster burns, and broken bones from the robotic assault huddled against crumbling walls, under fallen beams, anywhere offering vague protection from the looming robotic threat that had overwhelmed them all.
Through that gloomy fog cut a rhythmic, clacking sound, an auditory light in the darkness. Recovery Girl wove her way through the rubble, tapping her cane as she walked. Every ten steps, she stuck her cane in the ground, dug a hand into the jar of gummies she held, and popped a handful in her mouth.
Still chewing on the gummies, she approached a student with a broken leg. He stared up at her with a tear-strewn face and asked, "A-are you a nurse?"
Recovery Girl chuckled and said, "Dearie, I'm Recovery Girl. I healed a man with no stomach and half a lung, and he's still kicking. Now, let's take a look at that leg, shall we?"
The student gritted his teeth and pulled up his pants. Recovery Girl tutted at the swollen, purple lump below his knee. "Just a smooch, and it'll be all better. This won't hurt a bit."
The moment her lips caressed his bruised skin, the student screamed in agony. Flesh writhed as the bone fragments wriggled back into place and fused together. As the swelling died down, the student screamed, "Just cut it off! Please! Make it stop!"
"All better!" Recovery Girl held out her jar of gummies and said, "Here, have one. Healing like that takes a lot out of you, and these will perk you right up."
Still sobbing, the student took a gummy with shaky fingers and chewed it. Within seconds, their expression turned vacant, their eyes staring out into the cosmos. A shudder ran up their spine, and their pupils grew large enough to turn their entire eyes black. The student giggled and stroked a polka-dot pink giraffe that only he could see.
As she strode up to the next student, whose right arm hung limp as a cooked spaghetti noodle, he gave a squeamish glance at the student currently tripping enough balls to fill every McDonalds mosh pit in the world. He said a quick prayer and asked, "Can I have the gummy first?"
Recovery Girl shrugged and held out the jar. "All the same to me sonny. Now let's fix that arm of yours."
As the gummy kicked in, Recovery Girl kissed his broken arm. The student stared numbly at the arm as it writhed like a snake until it straightened out. He tried to bend it back over, but Recovery Girl swatted at him with a cane until he stopped.
Once she drugged up and healed the students at Site B, she turned towards Site A and marched forward, scarfing down gummies as she went.

A/N: I made a big mistake today. I played Stellaris for the first time, and six hours vanished before my eyes. Only stopped because I started getting light-headed from skipping lunch. Whoops!
