Alicia plays around with something on the computer, humming distractedly to herself. Ricardo is watching sports on his phone, his earbuds keeping her from losing her focus. He glances at her from time to time, smiling at how comfortable and homey it all feels. The sun has set, casting shadows over the room, when he slowly gets up and flicks a lamp on so she can see a little easier. She smiles when he leans over and kisses her on top of the head before making his way into the kitchen.
He's a so-so cook, but she enjoys his enchiladas, something both Sofia and his madre had taught him little tricks to make easier, so he starts to mix together ingredients for it, tortillas waiting at the ready. He pops it into the oven once everything is prepared and moves to sit down once he's sure some drinks are chilling in the fridge, returning to the game on his phone. He's not terribly surprised once he starts to smell the enchiladas, thick and promising, that Alicia joins him a few moments later, leaning in to kiss him on the lips. "Whatcha makin'?" she whispers and he grins up at her.
"Chicken enchiladas."
"Ooh," she hums, offering him another kiss before settling in his lap. "Sounds good."
He nods, resting his forehead against her shoulder as he half-watches the game carry on. "Your designs going alright?"
Her new venture in her post-WWE life, she keeps flitting from one idea to the next, trying to put together a line of clothing that she thinks people would like to wear.
"I'm not sure," she hedges, curling her fingers behind his neck and smiling down at him. "What would you say if I tried modeling some of my designs for you? Would you be able to give me an honest opinion on them?"
He stares up at her and shrugs. "I'm not sure," he says honestly. "You're gorgeous to me no matter what you're wearing." He toys with the frayed ends of her shirt and she closes her eyes, sighing.
"Damn," she mumbles, hovering over his lips. "The one adverse affect of having a husband totally, absolutely in love with you."
"It's a hard life, huh?" She giggles at him and he kisses her. "What if you had someone else try these designs on, I could give a more objective opinion then," he suggests once they calm down a little, get some of it out of their systems.
Her eyes brighten. "Ooh, I like it," she nods. "I like it a lot." She taps her lips. "Now, who to choose..."
He pouts a little when she gets up and begins pacing around the room, lost in thought. "Taya and AJ might be willing to," she hums. Racing back over to him, she cups his face and kisses him deeply. "Call me when supper's ready, ok? I've got some calls to make. I love you!" She graces him with one more kiss before dashing out of the room, leaving him behind to gape after her.
"Oof," he sighs, kneading his forehead with his knuckles as he thinks about Taya and AJ trying on clothes for anyone, much less for him. "That'll teach me." He smiles anyway, glad just to see Alicia happy and focused on something that's always interested her, even during the better part of her WWE career.
Clapping his hands, he reaches for his phone. "Alright, back to the game!" he cheers, eager to take in every second, every decision, every movement, warm and comfortable in the knowledge that Alicia is one step closer to achieving her dreams.
