Alicia leans her head back and exhales slowly, cracking an eye open to look down and watch Andre play around in the small play area she and Sofia had set up recently. It lets him be a little more active, but yet in a safe way because he's not big enough to get over the the walls. Yet. So she has some of his favorite toys inside of it, and while he babbles and crawls around, having a good ol' time, she gets to rest for a little while, even rests her eyes sometimes. Like now.

She loves Andre, and she adores playing with him, but sometimes... sometimes it's just nice to breathe. Especially since Ricardo left on another of his weeks long adventures. She glances at the calendar and tries to breathe, reminding herself he'll be back soon. Come October, he'll return to the States, find his way back to California between indy dates, and they'll be able to spend Halloween together. Maybe they'll dress Andre up, take him over to Mike and AJ's, or John and Taya's, somewhere safe where he can experience a little bit of Halloween.

She hums happily, running her hands through her hair, dwelling on that a few minutes longer. It's a nice thought. A very nice thought. She wishes it could happen now, that they were together now, laughing and joyful over selecting something simple and silly for little Andre to wear that he wouldn't be entirely engulfed in.

She hears Sofia enter, resting a cool glass of lemonade, apparently, by the tangy smell- next to her on the coffee table, and Alicia smiles a little wider. "Well, you must be thinking nice thoughts," Sofia offers, settling carefully next to her on the couch.

"Hm, I am," Alicia says softly, opening her eyes and peering down at Andre as he waves a rattle in the air, eyes fixated on the noise making toy. "I'm thinking about this little guy's first Halloween."

"Oh," Sofia breathes out. "That's right. We'll have to make it very special for him, won't we?"

Alicia smiles at her, suddenly comforted that, even if Ricardo is too busy, or distracted with his world wide attempt at wrestling domination, she'll have someone on her side after all. "Exactly what I was just thinking about."

Sofia smiles back. "Anything you need, por favor, let me know. I'll be happy to help in any way I can."

Alicia's smile grows. "What would I do without you, Sofia?" she wonders softly, leaning over to rest her head on Sofia's shoulder.

Sofia hums. Gently strokes her fingers over Alicia's forehead, down the side of her face, soothing her and sending her right back to the sleepy fugue she'd been in earlier. "You'll never have to find out, mi hija."

Alicia breathes out slowly, her smile growing as she sleepily registers what Sofia just said. "Love you, Sofia," she murmurs into the woman's steady warmth, drifting into a deep sleep almost immediately.

Sofia clucks tenderly and adjusts Alicia into what she hopes is a more comfortable position. "I love you too, Alicia," she whispers back. "And you too, Andre," she calls to the little boy, smiling adoringly as he makes a shrill sort of noise, still gumming at one of the teething things Alicia had tossed in with him. She laughs and wonders what kind of response that was, how the little boy will respond to them all in the future, when he can talk and make his feelings known about them, the lifestyle they lead, what they've introduced him to young.

Glancing down at Alicia, she sighs softly. "Whatever it is, Alicia," she murmurs. "We'll handle it together. Like we always do."
