Chapter 21: Mandie's Mission
The Next Day
Mandie was on her ship, getting everything ready for her next trip to earth. Unlike her previous "visits", she is going there under orders from her parents.
"Let's see...flame sword, scanning glasses, spare armor...also, bottle of water..."Mandie said as she listed off her items.
Once done, she nodded.
"I guess that's it..."Mandie said, both excited and nervous about this trip and about seeing him again...hopefully to try and just talk with him.
Assuming he'll listen to her, that is.
"I know he must not want to see me again but I just gotta see him again...I have to know why he spared my life..."Mandie thought as she put the list away.
Mandie could swear that her knees just went weak for a second from just remembering Danny's stoic figure from that time he saved her. He looked so strong and brave when he did that...and another thing that she wasn't sure what call but it made that feeling flare up when she thought about it.
It was a feeling unfamiliar to her, confusing but part of her kinda liked it to.
Anyway, she ordered her droids to pilot and soon they set a course for earth. The specific region Danny is from, to be more precise.
"Here goes everything..."She thought as her ship took off.
Unknown to the alien princess, someone was watching her as she left on her mission.
"Hmm... she's been very eager to go to Earth...more than she should. Could that be where she's been disappearing to? Has she been speaking with that Phantom creature? I must find out..."This figure thought, scratching his chin.
He decided to keep an eye on her, and find out just what the beautiful and deadly princess is up to.
On Earth
It was Saturday morning and Danny had just came from the Ghost Zone from his trip to check on Danielle.
He had to be careful that Vlad doesn't find her. He trusts Frostbite and his people to protect Danielle but Vlad is trouble, that much he knew.
"I can only hope he doesn't think to look for her there..."Danny thought as he went to get some water.
He took a sip when his ghost sense went off. Putting the glass down, he put his game face on.
"I guess I can use this to get rid of stress... Goin' ghost!..."He declared.
He changed forms and soon phased out of his house, deciding to handle this problem.
"Maybe after this, I can bring her some pizza or something..." He thought, thinking about his cute little clone/cousin as he went to save the day.
Elsewhere
Princess Mandie rarely got surprised but right now was one of those moments.
She had just managed to land her ship and put the cloaking device near the woods as she went to go investigate the high energy and suspected this could the very threat that her parents worried about.
To her surprise, she saw various ghosts on the attack.
"Best lay low for now..." She thought as she took cover behind a water tower to observe.
Many of them were large, green, beastly, savage and seemed non-sapient. The princess felt her natural instincts flow and grabbed her weapon.
"GRAAH!..."One of the ghost beasts roared as it charged at her.
Mandie smiled wickedly as she prepared herself. Her sword's flames danced as if mirroring her excitement as she slashed at one of them with her blade. It hurt one of them, alerting the others with a yelp.
She smirked as she struck the beasts down with a swing of her sword.
"This is glorious! Who could've asked for better opportunity to study these creatures?..."Mandie said smirking, enjoying the fight.
However, before she could continue, something sharp had just stung her in the back of her neck.
"AH! WHO DID THAT?..."Mandie yelled as she yanked it out and saw a dart.
Or at least it looked like one before her vision got blurry.
"W-Wha...What is in this?..."She let out, slurring her words before collapsing.
Slowly, she was starting to get tired that's the world around her slowly got dark, not who did that. With Mandie now unconscious, the figure who shot her appeared, smirking.
"Time for you and Daniel to get reacquainted, your highness..."He laughed fiendishly as he lifted the alien princess and soon vanished in a swirling mist.
Now, it was time to get his NEXT TARGET, who was on his way to the intended location.
Meanwhile
Danny did not know Mandie was here or what was happening. All he could see was lots of ghosts causing trouble by running rampant and that he had to stop them.
"Someone left the cages open at the zoo, didn't they?..."Danny snarked before he fired.
He began to fight them but a part of him couldn't help but find these ghostly beasts familiar...especially the ghostly bear, badgers and even mutant ghost badgers too.
"Okay...this is weird...why does it feel like I fought these ghosts before?..."He thought as he kept firing at them, unaware that someone was watching him from a distance.
The ghost boy had been trying to keep the ghostly bear at bay, when he suddenly felt something sharp had just stung him in the back of his neck.
"AH!..."Danny yelled in pain as he yanked it out.
However, it did little to help as his vision got blurry and he suddenly had trouble focusing.
"W-Whats...happening?..."He slurred out, losing focus as the world around him got dark.
Danny was now unconscious and the mysterious figure appeared, smirking wickedly at the sight of him.
"Finally, all the pawns have been obtained..."The figure said before picking up the unconscious boy.
He then turned to the ghostly animals, still smirking.
"We got him. Now come, my pets. Time to take our latest pawn with us..."He said sinisterly and soon vanished in a swirling mist, taking his new prisoner with him.
Later
Danny had no idea how much time had passed since he had been knocked out. He only began to stir awake and groaned when he opened his eyes due to feeling a headache.
"Ouch! What happened?..."He hissed as he got up.
He looked around and saw he was on what look to be some kind of island, a deserted one too it seems.
"Where am I? How did I get here?..."He asked out loud as he looked up.
The greenish-black sky indicated that he was in the ghost zone right now, not a place he was happy to be right now.
"Okay, this doesn't look good..."He muttered as he got up and tried to make sense of what happened...and maybe get out of here.
Unknown to him, Mandie was several yards away and was just waking up.
"Ugh...what hit me?..."She hissed as she came to.
She then saw her surroundings and got defensive.
"What is the meaning of this? How did I get here?! Who brought me to this strange place?! ..."She thought as she got up.
She didn't see Danny yet as she was too busy trying to get out of here, only to face some kind of barrier.
"What the?!..."Mandie shouted as she slammed her fist on it, trying to break free but to no avail.
All the while, the ghost boy was facing the same problem as he tried to fly away, only to hit the barrier too.
"Oh come on, a shield?!.."Danny exclaimed as he tried breaking it.
No luck.
"WHAT IS THIS?!..."Danny shouted as he found himself trapped on floating man-made island in the Ghost Zone.
He was hating it, as well as being reminded of the last time he has been trapped like this. On the other side, Mandie was furious as she tried to break free but to no avail.
"WHO DARES DO THIS?..."Mandie yelled as she kept banging her fists but to no avail.
However, they soon registered the other's yells and both paused as they registered another person's voice.
"Wait...that voice..."Both teens paused as they realized they were not alone.
They both turned around and gasped when they saw who was here.
"MANDIE?!..."Danny shouted in anger and horror at the sight of her.
"DANNY?..."Mandie gasped, unable to believe that it was him.
