Phantom vs Aliens: Hot Ectoplasma!
Chapter 24: Trapped Together Part 3
Previously
"Finally, a way out of this place..."Danny thought, wanting to be rid of her.
"Oh... too soon..."Mandie thought, still frustrated with her time with Danny over as they raced towards to portal.
Still, she wasn't going to give up on him, she was already planning ahead with ideas as they arrived to the portal that will hopefully free them.
Unknown to them, a certain spy droid with a vampire-esque appearance had been monitoring them the entire time and even listening in on the little "lover's quarrel" and having schemes being planned.
"First aliens...Now, magic and another universe? Fascinating...and so Daniel is being courted by one of the mighty Boudacians. Now this is far more interesting than I realized..."A certain fruitloop thought, pondering as he thought about how to use this information to his advantage while he plotted his next move.
Unknown to him, another spy droid had been monitoring the "couple", one with other ideas, though he didn't hear much of their conversation, just how close they are to each other from his perspective.
He did not like this to say the least and saw this as a means to prove himself.
"Don't worry, Princess Mandie. Your real fiance will make quick work of that lowly peasant..."A certain jealous warrior thought as he was still thousands of light years away.
Oh boy.
Present Time
Danny and Mandie soon arrived to the portal.
"Is this it?..."She asked, hopeful.
Danny stuck his head through the portal, only to pull back.
"I think so..." He said.
The alien princess smiled and raised her weapon.
"Then revenge is ours!..." She proclaimed as she rushed in and the ghost boy was behind her.
Danny and Mandie soon stepped out of the portal and found themselves on what looked like a floating rock. Both were relieved to have finally escaped.
"FINALLY! I WAS SO SICK OF THAT VOID!..." Mandie proclaimed.
She then noticed her surroundings and saw that they were still in an unfamiliar setting...at least for one of them since she saw a lot of doors.
The space princess looked around and only had one question.
"Where are we?..."She asked as she saw dark and green skies, accompanied by the sight of islands and floating doors above them.
"We're still in the ghost zone, but I don't know which part..."Danny said as he try to get his bearings around their current location.
He looked around for any familiar landmarks but didn't see any. He frowned but tried to look on the bright side.
"But I think it's safe to say we're out of that death trap..."The boy said with a sigh.
Mandie nodded, clenching her fist as she tested it against the scenery, smashing anything to pieces.
"The sooner we leave, the better, I hate this place!..."The alien princess said, scowling as hard as possible. "Plus, I can't wait to get my claws on that blue freak and crush him..."She said in anger.
"I know what you mean... Now! Plasmi-..."Danny stopped, realizing he was gone.
Looking around, Danny saw a note that was addressed to him.
"Yeah, that's totally not suspicious..."He thought with an eye-roll.
He picked it up and began reading it.
"Hello little badger, I do so hope that you had a fun time with your special friend from beyond the stars. I also hope that the two of you can learn to keep things... cool. Well, sit tight and... chill. I have some place cooler to go to...Ta ta..." It read
The ghost boy frowned.
"That fruitloop!..."He said, irritated but he's not the only one angry.
Mandie looked livid at the fact that their mutual enemy had escaped, no doubt long before they arrived here.
"Where is this Vlad Plasmius?! I'll have his hide!..."She shouted while Danny looked around.
"Gone... he's probably halfway home by now..."He said.
Mandie snarled angrily.
"Where does he live?! So I can make it his own personal graveyard!..."She said in a threatening tone.
Danny frowned.
Usually, he wouldn't bother to protect Vlad and he'd had left him on his own...but he also knew that Vlad's home is in Amity Park and he didn't want to risk Mandie attacking the town just to get to their mutual enemy.
"You really think I'll let you cause trouble like that, even against my archenemy?..."he said.
Mandie looked surprised.
"Do you not want revenge?..." She asked, lost.
"Not like that. I remind you... Look, I get Vlad is a fruitloop and deserves a butt-kicking but I'm a hero. That means no to killing, no to senseless destruction around innocent bystanders... and no to someone like you..."He added.
Mandie pouted, being reminded he does not love her.
"But I came all this way for you and I can do so much to help you!..."She complained.
Danny rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"I have better things to do than deal with you. The only girl I have any intention in being around for now is my cousin since she needs me..." He said without thinking.
"Cousin?..." Mandie asked curiously.
Danny regretted saying that but the damage was done.
"She's with some friends far away from here... but that doesn't concern you..."He said.
"It doesn't?..." Mandie asked, looking hurt by his continued rejection.
Danny ignored that and wanted to focus on the matter at hand.
"Let's just find another portal and get out of here before anything else happens. Hopefully, we can find one that leads to Earth..."He said.
He knew he couldn't leave Mandie behind...no matter how tempting it might be and he wanted her out of his life as soon as possible but he can't leave her here. Mandie reluctantly sighed before she flew with him.
Soon, they took to the skies and tried to find the way out. Little did they know a certain machine insect was still watching them.
With Vlad
Vlad witness the entire thing with his spy drone and scoffed.
"So they managed to escape...no matter, I've still managed to collect plenty of data on Daniel's little space girlfriend...as well as something else.."He said before smirking.
He heard what the little badger let slip out and it didn't take him long to connect the dots. Daniel mentioned friends and since he knew personally that he could not be talking about that goth girl or the boy obsessed with technology, he had to be talking about other friends that he can trust.
And he had an idea of whom...certain snow beasts that live in a far, frozen realm.
"I should have known..."He thought.
He had originally had been planning to go to the Far Frozen for one prize...and now it seems that another target he's been after is there too. The evil half ghost then smirked even more as he took off.
"I'm getting the Infi-Map and I still managed to find that brat..."He thought as he snickered.
"I do believe that it's time for a father-daughter reunion..."He said as he flew through the Zone to find who he's been looking for.
He laughed wickedly, leaving the teens alone again.
Uh oh...
With Danny and Mandie
While the fruitloop left, the two unique teens then tries to find a way out.
"So, what happens now?..."Mandie asked, flaming sword brandished as she readied herself for anything.
Strange and unfamiliar usually meant hostile in Boudacian terms.
"Now...we look for a natural portal. They tend to pop up from time to time..." Danny replied, looking around for any clues. "While I don't have down to...well, anything, I kinda have a feel for them, or where they might be..."He said.
"So you can sense them?..."She asked, intrigued.
"Yes and no. The portals really show up when they want to..." He said.
Mandie smirked.
"Fascinating, I wonder what else you can sense..."She said flirtatiously.
Danny rolled his eyes.
"Will you focus and just keep your eyes peeled for a portal?..."He said, annoyed.
His hopes were soon answered.
As if provided by fate itself, a swirl of green energy howled by the two, only a few feet away. Mandie jumped back as the ghost boy stood still as a vortex appeared.
"Is that a natural portal?..."Danny thought, relieved.
"Another portal? Is it out of here?..."Mandie asked, looking hopeful.
Danny peeked in and pulled out. He saw mountains, trees and a starry night sky that can only be from Earth.
He smiled.
"This time for sure..." He said.
"Is it safe?..."Mandie asked.
"As safe as anything else here...which isn't saying much..."Danny said.
Mandie smirked and readied her weapon.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's get out of here and see if that blue freak is on the other side..."She said.
Danny nodded and readied for action.
With that done, Mandie and Danny went through the natural portal and were now out of the ghost zone.
"We did it, we're free..."Danny said, relieved.
"At last, fresh air!..."Mandie said, glad to be out of there.
"Where are we?..."She asked.
"No idea..."Danny said as he saw that they were in some forest.
A very unfriendly one.
"Why do I get the feeling that I've been here before?..."He thought as this place seemed eerily familiar to him.
He then recognized that this place was close to Lake Eerie, the ghost boy sighed a breath in relief, glad to know that they weren't as far away from his hometown.
"Good, at least we didn't wind up on the other side of the planet..."Danny thought, not wanting to spend that long flying to get back home.
"I take it you at least know a route back home..."Mandie said, searching through the trees. "This place is...eerie..."She said.
"With two E's..."Danny chuckled, happy to be home, sort of.
Mandie shared in the laughter, despite not getting the joke.
While she was upset that she couldn't spend as much time with her beloved as she wanted, the joy they seemed to be enjoying was giving her a chance to talk to the boy.
"I still don't get it... is that an inside joke?..."She thought. "Oh, who cares? Perhaps this little adventure we've gone through was the perfect ice breaker that we needed?..."She thought, being hopeful.
At the very least, he was being less than hostile towards her, so that was a start.
Not as much as she hoped though but still.
That's when the two felt a rush of air as something above was landing.
"A Boudacian ship? Wait... oh no..." Mandie muttered as she recognized who this ship belongs to.
"What?..." Danny asked, on guard.
The ship landed in front of them, and the side door opened.
A male boudacian warrior walked out with some droids behind him, one who Mandie had the displeasure of knowing all too well.
Brutis.
He was dressed in his special armor and red cape, the one he uses to invade other planets...or show off to his stupid fan girls or to get her attention.
"Mandie! You are alright!..." Brutis said, sounding happy.
"Not anymore..."Mandie said in distaste, feeling the opposite.
Danny was shocked at the sight of the male Boudacian.
"Is this your cousin or something?..." He asked, confused.
"No!..." Mandie said with a flat look as her so-called suitor approached them.
"Princess Mandie, I have come to rescue you!..."Brutis announced dramatically, trying to show off his muscles to her.
The alien princess rolled her eyes.
"I don't NEED to be rescued, you idiot! In case you didn't notice, we already made it out!..."Mandie said, snapping at him.
Danny was surprised, not by her hostility, but by how personal it seemed.
"Uh...who is this guy?..."Danny asked.
"This is Brutis, the one I have rejected in favor of you..."Mandie said, crossing her arms and looking away from him.
Danny was surprised.
"THIS is the guy you don't wanna marry?..."Danny asked, gesturing to him.
"Yes, that's him..."Mandie said distastefully.
Danny blinked in confusion as he saw the other Boudacian.
This Brutis guy is tall, even buffer than Dash and dressed in fancy looking armor and even a cape. He also had an unfriendly look on his face that wasn't all that dissimilar to Mandie's.
"Okay, I'm not seeing what the problem is..."He muttered as the male Boudacian pointed at him.
"So, you're the Earth warrior that stole my Mandie's heart!..."Brutis said in a condescending way. "Ha, you look like a light breeze would break you..."He mocked.
Danny went from confused to annoyed.
"Never mind... I see it..."He said.
The male alien then glared with a snarl, pulling out an electric, single-bladed, curved sword and sending a vicious look at his rival.
"Ghost boy! Prepare to face combat with whatever formidable skills you may possess! I will destroy you and prove who is truly worthy of Mandie's hand!..." Brutis roared, pointing his word at him.
Danny looked at the boy. He was not intimidated and did not care for him at all, but he was in the way and had to be removed.
"Dude, I'm only going to say this once, get back in your ship, go back home and leave Earth alone..."Danny flexed as his hands glowed.
"Never, you shall pay for your blatant disrespect, you lesser being! Prepare to meet a superior warrior in battle!..."Brutis said, holding his weapons tightly in his hand, wanting to rip his skull from his head.
He was furious that this earth peasant would dare refuse his challenge and the chance to die at the hands of the superior species.
He saw one way to correct this mistake.
He batted his weapon as he stormed over, smirking with evil intent. It did not scare the ghost boy, much to his irritation.
"Dude, in a minute, the lesser being is gonna be you, on the floor, if you don't leave..."Danny said, getting even more irritated.
"Such insolence! Boudacians do not tolerate such disrespect!..."Brutis snapped.
"I guess all bow-whatever-you-are can't take no for an answer..."Danny said, his eyes glowing brighter as it was obvious a fight was about to happen.
Mandie stared at the ghost boy, blushing madly. Most of her wanted to see Brutis get the beating he deserved. She soon grinned with mad anticipation, happy to finally see one of her wishes come true.
"Wonderful. I never thought this dream would come true..."Mandie thought in excitement as the two boys began to fight over her...sort of.
Even though she bested Brutis all the time, watching Danny clobber him would be the cherry on top she that she has been looking for. And best of all, when he won, Brutis would have to focus less on her and more on Danny, only to be defeated again and again.
"Then you leave me no choice, you lowly Earth peasant! Prepare to die!..." Brutis yelled.
"Just do it already..." Danny groaned, wanting to get this battle over with.
Brutis charged ahead, intending to end things in one attack, but Danny phased through him, blasting from behind.
"What treachery is this!?..."Brutis cried out.
"I'm using what I've got at my disposal..." Danny answered cheekily.
Brutis growled and grabbed his sword tighter, he swung and tried to aim at Danny's neck but the boy kept dodging.
"You know, you're like your sword. You're not the sharpest. I can see why Mandie's not too keen on you..."Danny quipped, angering the male alien.
Brutis snarled and got swung wildly.
"DIE! DIE! DIE!..."He shouted over and over as he kept swinging.
Danny kept stepping out of the way, using the least amount of effort possible that he wasn't even going on the counter attack. He was waiting for an opportunity to finish fast. While trained, the male Boudacian was no match for him, and it was starting to feel wrong at how one-sided this was.
The boy went intangible, letting the warrior go right through him and into a tree.
"Geez, this guy is just another Dash..."Danny thought incredulously.
"Okay, seriously, you're suppose to be a great warrior? Even the more annoying ghosts I know are stronger than you..."The ghostly boy mocked.
Brutis snarled again and slashed the tree in half, in rage.
"How dare you mock me?! I'll end you!..."Brutis shouted as he tried to slash him but Danny easily dodged him.
"Come on Bruty, you're suppose to be a great warrior? I'm not impressed..."Danny mocked once more, successfully getting under his foe's skin.
Brutis snarled again and continued swinging wildly.
"DIE! DIE! DIE!..."He shouted over and over again but still didn't get any hits against his foe.
All the while, Mandie watched the battle and used her glasses to record the whole thing, wanting to remember it for days to come. Danny then kicked Brutis in the chin while Mandie watched, swooning over Danny and feeling the urge to jump for joy.
"GET HIM DANNY!..."Mandie cheered in excitement.
Danny got annoyed by her cheering while Brutis got jealous.
"YOU SHOULD BE CHEERING FOR ME, MY LOVE! I'M THE ONE WHO SHALL WIN AND-..."Brutis was cut off when Danny gave him an upper cut.
"You really shouldn't get distracted during a fight..."Danny said as he threw another punch while the alien princess watched in awe.
"What I would've give for a chair and some snacks right now..."Mandie thought.
She was rapture by the fight, happy to see the ghost boy fight and beat up Brutis.
The boy had no chance.
What followed was Danny mopping the floor with Brutis. A kick to the stomach, a punch to the chin and kneeing him in the side. Brutis hissed in pain and tried to get up, but he wouldn't back down. He had taken too much and laid there grasping the ground in anger.
"You dare to hurt me?! I will claim Mandie's hand if it's the last thing I-..."He didn't get a chance to finish that threat.
Danny rushed forward faster and before Brutis could see, Danny grabbed him by the collar of his armor and pushed him into a tree, trapping him in ice.
"I will claim her hand!..."Brutis yelled while Mandie looked amused.
"Okay, I better stop this before I pass out from excitement..."She thought as she stopped recording, deciding this was enough.
"Release me at once! You will not have the princess! She will be mine, no matter the-..."Brutis shouted, only for Danny to hold a hand out.
"Dude, you want her? You can have her..."Danny snarked.
"Excuse me!?..."Mandie flared up.
"I said he can have you! You know I don't wanna marry you. We had a deal, remember?!..."Danny shot back at her, making her flinch at recalling her deal with him last time.
Brutis seemed furious and broke out of the ice. He looked annoyed and insulted.
"You dare talk about the princess that way!?..."Brutis yelled, but he was held up by the ghost boy, one-handed. He never felt this weak before.
"I don't care what you think..."Danny glanced at Mandie. "But like I said, I have no interest in marrying her..."He said.
Mandie pouted sadly while Brutis was red with rage.
"You would reject the prize of royalty!?..."He shouted in outrage.
"Mandie isn't a prize..."Danny said quickly.
Those words shocked Brutis and Mandie, the latter of whom was now growing a blush.
"While I don't like her, I know she's a person...why don't you try treating her like one?..."Danny accused, not liking this.
He didn't like Mandie but he didn't like guys who treats girls that way either.
Mandie's eyes widened upon hearing this, almost speechless right now.
"No one has ever said that about me before and he does not love me..."She thought, looking lost as her beloved decided to end the battle.
Danny then tossed Brutis aside and with one last punch in the face, managed to knock him down, he was out cold. He walked to Mandie and barely seemed winded.
"For the record, I really don't like you... but even I admit you're too good for him..."Danny said.
Mandie sighed.
"You may be the only being in any universe to say that..."Mandie said with both confusion and sheepishness.
"Ignoring for a moment I want you out of my life, that's actually sad..."He said, meaning it.
"Now that he's taken care of, let's get back to finding Plasmius..."Danny thought, as he was pondering to himself. "Let's see...where else could he be?..." He thought as the alien princess did other things.
Mandie observed the unconscious Brutus and lifted him by the leg, tossing him back in his ship.
"Idiot..." She muttered as she quickly reprogrammed the droids, she also programed instructions and coordinates.
Soon, she sent the ship away, back to Boudacia via the autopilot that she turned on.
"Well, that's one way to deal with...I want to say annoying jock, but I think you have a different word..."Danny said.
"If I had my way, more permanent solutions would be taken..."Mandie said, crossing her arms.
Danny couldn't tell if she was joking or not but decided that it was best not to press on that subject any further and changed topics.
"So...I'm guessing he's not supposed to be here either..."Danny said.
"Indeed..."Mandie said, scowling at the ship that was now out of sight.
"Seriously, I can tell that he's a jerk but what'd he do to peeve you so much?..."Danny questioned.
I already told you that he's been after my hand for years, he's only interested in gaining power by obtaining the throne by marrying me... which is normal in our society but I have higher standards than that sexist pig. Plus, he's never been able to defeat me in combat and never will. My strength and prowess far outmatch his stupidity..."She said.
"Honestly, I'd rather remarry that spineless Mark Chang for the rest of my life..."She said in an icy way, making it clear she can't stand Brutis.
"Mark who?..."Danny asked, confused.
"My last husband, the little squid I mentioned. A literal spineless coward but not as annoying as Brutis..."She muttered, kicking dirt up in irritation.
"Her cold reception of him is as bad as mine for her..." He muttered before he stopped.
"Cold?..." He thought as he recalled a part of Vlad's message, regarding going someplace cooler.
Suddenly, something came to the ghost boy's mind and he gasped.
"Oh no..." Danny was heard going.
The alien girl turned to the ghost boy, who was now in a state of near panic.
"What? Is that Plasmius back?..." She asked, eager for the chance to get back at him.
"No, he's... actually, never mind. It doesn't concern you..." Danny said, not sugarcoating it.
Mandie frowned at this.
"What?! But you are my chosen mate! Anything you do-..."
Suddenly, she felt a hand on her wrist, squeezing tightly. She was actually surprised by the strength as the ghost boy sent her a warning glare, not a hint of anything but anger. The sight of his icy expression caused her knees to feel weak but unable to move her legs from his cold stare.
"For the last time... I want this to be so clear it's impossible for you to misunderstand me... I will not father the kids of someone I don't love. I don't love you. I will NEVER love you...so, LEAVE ME ALONE!..."He yelled at her, making her stumble back after he let go.
Mandie pulled away, nursing her wrist and hiding it from him. Still, she tried to push her luck.
"What can I do to prove to you I am not your enemy?..." She said.
"Nothing...since you have done nothing but kidnap me and and bring me nothing but trouble since we met..."Danny said, speaking the harsh truth.
The alien princess hated hearing this and tried to defend herself and get him to reconsider.
"But I helped you flee that accursed Plasmius and aided you out of that ghostly world..."Mandie pointed out.
"So what?! You honestly think that's enough to make me forget everything you put me through when you first step foot on my Planet?!..."Danny asked incredulously.
The alien princess flinched, realizing her return did not get the result she wanted. She had hoped he'd be more open to her after aiding him, honestly hoping that would be the case. She would do anything to stay on Earth longer and maybe persuade Danny into marrying her, or at least help figure out this feeling she was having.
"But I love you!..."She said desperately.
"You clearly don't know what love is, if you did, you'd know I don't feel that way for you..."Danny said, not caring.
Mandie was upset and felt her heart was somehow in pain. She wasn't used to such rejections and her usual reaction when denied what she wants...which includes attacking, threats...flirtation...seduction and intimidation wasn't working. Nothing she has tried has worked on him and did the opposite.
It boggled her mind.
"But what am I to do?!..." She shouted since she can't return empty handed.
"One thing..."Danny said as he pointed to the stars, much to her confusion.
"We had a deal..." His voice is stern and authoritative. "I win, you go back and never return..."He reminded her.
Mandie sighed in defeat. As much as she hated this, she knew that he would not do as she wants today, so she'd best retreat for now.
"Very well..." She said, walking back to the direction where her own ship was.
Once she was gone, Danny whispered to himself.
"Okay... Vlad must've gone to the Far Frozen, but the Infi-Map's under lock and key. What else could he want?..." He wondered.
The answer popped into his head.
"Dani!..."Danny thought in realization and panicked.
She was the only thing there right now that was new that he'd be after.
He can't let that happen.
"I'm coming, Danielle!..." He shouted as he flew off, not caring about Mandie at the moment.
He kept flying forward, not looking back. If he did look back, he would have been irritated to see her staring at him and not moving from her spot.
The girl did not want to leave, not because of her feelings, but out of curiosity. Out of all their fights, none of them ever elicited a reaction like that out of the ghost boy...and for some reason, it made her feel something funny.
She can't exactly explain it but it felt strange, confusing and also...it got stronger the more she thought about his reaction...like she wanted to know why he reacted like that and do...something.
She's not sure yet what but she had to find out why she keeps feeling this way around him and only him...and only one idea came to her mind.
"I did agree to go back, but I never said when, now to follow..." Mandie said as she followed him, clicking her heels as her new jet boots (the ones she "borrow" from Brutis's ship) ignited.
She then followed the ghostly boy, making sure to keep a distance so that he would not notice. She saw him re-enter that portal to the ghostly world, which is now closing.
"What is he doing?..."She thought as she watched him go back inside, as it was beginning to close.
Not wanting to miss any chance, she went forward and was soon inside that bizarre world once again.
She won't leave until she learns more about Danny, and how to win his love. If the head of his foe will not do the job, something else will have to suffice.
She just wished she knew how to do that.
