Phantom vs Aliens: Hot Ectoplasma!
Chapter 27: Danny and Mandie vs Vlad
"Prepare to taste my hot plasma blade!..."Mandie screeched as she stood with her beloved behind her.
Both teens charged at the evil half ghost, determined to end this fight one way or the other.
Vlad, however, wasn't giving in. He put up a barrier to keep the girl out. As the sword hit the shield, he pushed back, sending Mandie back a few feet.
"Be careful your royal highness, you wouldn't want to break a nail..."Vlad said as he dusted some snow off his legs.
Mandie got up and growled, angry over what this blue freak just said.
"You'll pay for that..."She shouted.
"I've paid more than enough through listening to you talk..."Vlad said with an eyeroll. "I can see now why Daniel isn't too keen to be with you..."He said, angering her more.
Mandie turned to Danny and pointed at their common enemy.
"Come on, Danny. Let's show this old fool what real warriors look like..."Mandie said, looking determined to win.
Danny nodded as they both circled around Vlad.
"I'll go go one way, you the other..."Danny said.
"Got it..."Mandie complied as they got ready to kick things up to another level.
Danny sent various blasts to Vlad while Mandie swung her sword at him, which the evil half ghost was not afraid of as he did his best to avoid them.
"All too easy. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that you are starting to get serious..."Vlad said sarcastically as he blocked blasts with one hand and blocked the sword with the other through shields.
Danny scowled and tried to fire again but his foe did the same.
"Outnumbering him isn't enough..."He thought as he tried to think of an idea.
"Any more ways to waste my time, Daniel?..." Vlad mocked.
"I got more tricks, Cheesehead..."Danny said as he fired one large ball of energy.
"Oh, I don't think so. At least not tricks I won't see coming..."Vlad said, grabbing the ball and tossing it aside.
Danny frowned and decided it best to take advantage of his stalker's aid.
"Mandie, go right and I'll go left..."Danny ordered as he flew towards Vlad.
"On it, Darling..."Mandie said as she ran by his side.
The two teens then fired at Vlad, prompting him to raise a shield. The combined attack actually broke through his shield, pushing him back.
"You're starting to look a little worse for wear there Vlad. Maybe you should take some time off, preferably years..."Danny said as he and Mandie cornered him.
Vlad scowled and lost what little patience he had.
"Enough of this tomfoolery! I'll just paralyze you first, deal with the my new hostage, pick up Dani, and get my plans back on track!…" Vlad cried out.
With a burst of energy, Vlad flexed his spectral muscle and pushed the teens back. He brought out the improved Plasmius Maximus and rushed towards Danny.
Danny gasped as he saw his enemy jetting at him. The boy was so surprised, he didn't have time to dodge as the man was a few feet away.
But before Plasmius reached the boy, Mandie came in with her sword. Having reacted better, the warrior princess bounced back and readied her blade, swinging it down at Vlad, who ducked out at the last moment.
"PAY ATTENTION, BLUE FREAK! IF ANYONE IS GOING TO CLAIM VICTORY, IT'S GONNA BE ME!..."Mandie yelled as she swung her blade.
"Haven't you been enough of a pain?!..."Vlad said in annoyance as he avoided the swing, only for the alien princess to suck punch him.
"I'll show you how much pain you're in for!…"Mandie yelled, alerting Vlad how much stronger she looked.
The girl ran with berserker rage as she swung her sword multiple times, pushing the man back before eventually breaking his shield.
"THIS IS WHAT REAL WARRIOR SKILLS LOOKS LIKE! NOW PREPARE TO FACE MY WRATH!..."Mandie screamed as she charged again, sword in hand.
The older halfa faltered back as Danny looked with amazement.
"Okay, that's kinda awesome...not that I'd tell her that..."Danny thought as he continued to watch Mandie's berserck fighting style.
"EAT HOT PLASMA!..."She shouted as she tried to fire but barely missed.
"Temper, temper, my dear... You'd think a princess would know how to act with more elegance..."Vlad mocked.
"Don't you dare mock me, you insect!..."She shouted as once again tried to cut him.
"Okay, I better stop this..."Danny thought as he tried to help by aiming with his finger.
"Time to pack up and go home, Vlad..."Danny shouted, making him want to leave sooner by sending long distance ghost rays.
His foe deflected them with a shield and sent a sneer.
"Indeed, but not before I get what I came for..."Vlad said as he pulled out his device, eager to use it.
However, before he got a chance, someone knocked it out of his hand.
"AH!..."Vlad yelled as swung his hand to soothe the pain of the hit.
Vlad looked to his empty hand, seeing the Plasmius Maximus only a foot away. He reached out, but it was blasted to bits as he saw the warriors of the Far Frozen approach.
"YOU?!..."Vlad shouted. "But I-..."
"It would seem that the effects of that accursed device had wore off...which means that me and my people are free to fight back..."Frostbite said as he and his people looked eager for payback.
"Oh...FUDGE BUCKETS!..."Vlad said as he couldn't believe so much time had passed.
The warriors of the Far Frozen continued blasting away at him, trying to turn their enemy into ice sculpture. Vlad tried to dodged them but was also met with blasts from Danny and he nearly got sliced in half by Mandie's sword attacks or blasted by it as well.
"Suffer, you disgraceful, pathetic excuse of a warrior..."Mandie yelled.
"What she said..."Danny shouted.
"Get away!..."The villain shouted as pushed them off.
"Don't forget about is!..." Frostbite called out.
Vlad found himself surrounded by the yeti ghosts with their spearheads inches from piercing him. The halfa growled as Frostbite walked forward.
"I've said it before and I'll say it again. You will never get the infi-map!…"Frostbite cried out.
"Oh enough of the theatrics…"Vlad groaned. A quick jab from a spear in his back made the man glare behind. "I'll make this simple. Give me Dani, and I won't obliterate you…"
Despite being surrounded, the man believed the tides of war on his side.
"As you can see…"Frostbite pointed to Danny. "Great one is front of you. So you got what you came for…"
"Great one?…"Mandie said, glancing at Danny.
"Long story..."Danny said, in a way that shows he doesn't want to talk about it. " For now, let's just kick this jerk's butt into next week..."He said while Frostbite kept Plasmius at spear-point.
It was imperative Vlad didn't have a clue about Dani being here, and any indication could give away everything.
Vlad growled.
"Not him! I mean the annoying little brat who dresses like him! The girl!..."He shouted.
Mandie knew he was talking about the girl whom his minions had been after and would have captured her, had she not intervened.
"I don't know who you are talking about and I don't care. You're fight is with us..."Mandie said as she pointed her blade at the villain.
"Do you honestly believe that I would be threatened by Daniel's presence, let alone his savage girlfriend's toys. Ha! It seems you need an extended lesson about Earth, Princess..."Vlad scoffed.
"I did not come here for Danny. I came to eviscerate you!…"Mandie cried out with her flaming hair.
Mandie charged again as she used her fury to strengthen her swings, yelling out with each attack. She chose to use the handle of her sword to hit Vlad right on his temple and knock him back.
"This is for trapping us in that accursed void and fleeing like a coward!..."She said as she fired her proto-flame sword, which Vlad managed to dodge.
But the evil halfa didn't see Danny come around til he felt a fist collide with the side of his head. The man felt energy pulsing as the ghost boy fired point blank.
Vlad seethed and hissed before charging his own fists, only to go back to dodging Mandie and her furious attacks. This left another opening for Danny when he tried to back away.
"THAT'S FOR DARING TO CALL DANI A MISTAKE!..."Danny shouted as he upper cut his foe, knocking Vlad high in the air, which left the older halfa completely open in that split second.
Vlad caught himself and glared menacingly. He was tired of being a punching bag already and decided to get serious.
"ENOUGH! I HAVE HAD ENOUGH TO THESE CHILDISH GAMES!..."Vlad shouted as he charged an energy orb between his hands.
Danny charged his fists in an attempt to block or deflect the coming attack, but Mandie was ready as she took a few steps forward. She decided now to use her security weapon.
"Now, it's time to take him out for good and end this..."Mandie said as she pulled out her proto sword again.
Vlad scoffed.
"Go ahead and try, you idiotic girl!..."Vlad shouted.
Unfortunately for him, he left an opening from his focus on the teens and Frostbite took this opportunity. With his warriors behind the halfa, he got the jump on Plasmius.
"OPEN FIRE!..."Frostbite said as he and his warriors' eyes glowed blue and they fired icicles and freezing beams at the man.
"What the-...oh, cheese logs..."Vlad grumbled as he couldn't move fast enough.
He was hit and soon turned frozen solid...yet again.
"It's like I always say, an end of a great battle is best delivered ice cold..."The yeti ghost said, happy to get payback.
Mandie saw this and blinked, surprised by the outcome but not against it
"I guess this works too..."She said as she put her sword back, since she believed her foe deserves this much at least.
"Finally..."Danny said, happy that battle is over.
"What did you do to him?..."Mandie asked as she looked over the frozen form of her enemy in a curious fashion.
"We have merely frozen his body but don't worry, the effects are temporary..."Frostbite explained.
"Bummer..."Mandie said, looking dissapointed.
"Now, let's get him out of here before he thaws and tries to find Dani again..."Danny said.
"It shall be done, Great One..."Frostbite said as he went to get what they needed.
He soon came back with the map and a smirk on his face, as they now knew what to do.
"Now...any suggestions as to where we should send our unwanted guest?..."Frostbite asked, ready to send their foe away.
Mandie had a few ideas of where to send their foe but Danny beat her too it.
"I have a few ideas..."Danny said with a smirk, having an idea.
A little later
A natural portal had opened in the middle of a landfill from what looked like New Jersey and closed only a moment later, but it had been plenty of time to dump a different kind of trash in there.
There, right in the middle of the trash, stood a frozen block of ice, with Vlad still inside.
He was frozen solid, couldn't move and there was no one here but rats and other pests scurrying around.
However, he was still conscious...and angry.
"I'll get even for this. This isn't over, not by a long shot!..."Vlad mentally vowed as he remained there and waited to thaw.
Unfortunately for him, some birds soon landed on his frozen form, thinking he's a statue and soon...did what they always do with statues.
"NO!..."Vlad mentally screamed as he couldn't do anything about this.
Back in the Far Frozen
Danny and Frostbite soon returned after dumping Vlad off and dusting their hands.
"Well, that should keep him busy for a while..."Frostbite said, grinning at the misfortune of the evil halfa.
"He'll be back but at least his dreams are on ice again..."Danny chuckled.
He soon noticed that Mandie is still here and surrounded by the warriors of the far frozen, who were either cautious or wary about her.
"Right, forgot about her..."Danny thought as he remembered he still has to deal with her.
However, Frostbite approached the alien girl and gave a curious look to the outsider.
"And to you, mighty female warrior, whom are you and why have you come to our land?..."Frostbite asked.
Mandie saw the white, snow beast and couldn't help but be reminded of her father before answering him.
"I am Princess Mandie, heiress to the Boudacian Empire and proudest warrior of my planet..."Mandie introduced herself, standing tall as she sheathed her flaming blade into the snow.
Frostbite looked her over and nodded in respect.
"You showed much strength and ferocity in battle, the likes of which I have not laid witnessed upon in a long time..."Frostbite said, looking impressed. "You have my thanks as the chief of the Far Frozen..."He said.
"Think nothing of it. I had a personal grudge against that poor excuse of a warrior anyway..."Mandie said, show her distaste of Vlad clear.
It's strange but while these are beings from another universe, yet she can't help but be reminded a bit of her father's species.
Danny also seemed surprised by how cordial they were being with each other and no sign of hostility at all.
"I guess warrior races have an unspoken code of respect or something..."The ghost boy thought as he watched the two interact with one another.
He'd ask Frostbite about this at some point. But first he had more important questions for Mandie, who he recalled promised to leave Earth and never come back. He marched over, wanting to remind her about their agreement.
However, before Danny could get some answers, someone had just showed up and immediately caught his attention.
It was Dani, along with Chill and Glacier.
"Lord Frostbite, we returned as soon as we heard that scoundrel Plasmius was gone..."Chill said, standing in salute as he said that
"I see. Did anyone find out about Dani's presence?…"Frostbite asked.
The soldiers shook their heads and they stood proudly.
"Good. Let us be on guard for any tricks. Scout the area for anything that Plasmius might have left behind..."Frostbite order some other guards nearby.
"Yes, sir..."They said as they went to do their tasks.
The guards left to make sweeps. This let Danny and Dani catch up.
"Danny!..."Dani shouted as she hugged her cousin.
"Danielle...Oh, I was so worried..."Danny said as he hugged her back.
"You won't believe what just happened..."Dani started.
"You won't believe what just happened here either..."He said as he began to tell her about the battle.
As he did this, Chill and Glacier went to tell their leader more about what had happened to them.
"What exactly happened out there?..."Frostbite asked.
"We apologize, Lord Frostbite. We were ambushed by Plasmius's minions and we were incapacitated..."Chill said in shame.
"Thankfully, Dani managed to remain hidden and the enemies had been properly dealt with for now..."Glacier added, sighing in relief.
"Wonderful, but how did you deal with them, exactly?..." Frostbite asked.
"Uh...we didn't..."Chill said as Dani soon noticed the alien girl and both females gasped.
"You!..."They both pointed to each other.
Danny blinked in confusion.
"You two know each other?..."He asked, a bit confused.
"You are that girl those beasts were after?..."Mandie said in realization, now putting the pieces together.
"Yeah and you're the one who mop the floor with those bird brains and their monsters..."Dani said.
Danny was surprised to hear that.
"What?..."He exclaimed while Dani looked ecstatic to see her again.
The ghost boy looked between the alien princess and his cousin, wondering what had happened with Dani and what the alien had to do with it.
He was really glad to see Danielle safe but couldn't believe who her savior was.
His little clone/cousin then approached the alien warrior, who was surprised by the smile on her face.
"Thank you, you were so awesome back there! If you didn't show up when you did than I might have been a goner..."Dani said.
Mandie was surprised and a little baffled at being praised by the young girl but nodded with a small smile, feeling embarrassed.
"I...well, I just wanted to interfere with his plans. I mean it was nothing at all..."Mandie said, looking sheepish.
In all her years, Mandie never had to deal with someone thanking her without the threat of harm for anything that didn't involve dominating planets underneath her boot for the Boudacian Empire. The ghost girl's smile sent new emotions she never had to deal with before. It was strange but a part of her didn't mind the attention she was getting, much to her surprise. For the time being, she'll allow this to happen and accept her gratitude.
But a gruff sound from Frostbite cut the moment short.
Mandie and Dani stopped as they saw their audience. The princess blushed as such behavior was unbecoming of a girl of her status as the Princess and heiress to the Boudacian Empire. Even amongst beings she never saw, she had to maintain decorum.
"Plasmius may be gone and even though we kept him from finding anything, it is only a matter of time before he tries to steal the map again and try to go after young Dani as well..."Frostbite said.
Danny frowned, knowing he is right.
"You're right but where else can she go where he can't find her?..."Danny asked.
"Do not worry, Great One. We have many allies that would be happy to look after her until Plasmius is dealt with for good..."Frostbite said.
"Really?..."Danny asked, looking relieved.
"Yes, there is one whom I believe you are familiar with already...Pandora..."He said. "She has quite the fondness of children and would no doubt protect her from any threat..."He said.
Danny smiled, relieved that another of his ghostly allies was willing to take Dani in.
"I'm so glad to hear that..."He said, happy that there are few friends in the Ghost Zone he can trust on.
"We shall make the arrangements and prepare for departure as swiftly as possible..."Another Far Frozen warrior said.
"Thank you..."Danny said, grateful that his cousin would still have sanctuary and safety away from Vlad.
"It is our honor and pleasure to help the great one and his family during their time of need. It is the least we can do..."Frostbite said, giving a warm smile and a bow.
Dani smiled and bowed back.
"Thanks Frostbite..."Dani said, appreciating his kindness before turning to her cousin. "And thank you, cuz...for watching my back..."Dani said as she hugged him.
"Anytime..."Danny said as he hugged her back before she left with the Far Frozen warriors to the Acropolis where Pandora lives.
His alien admirer saw this. She saw Danny showing another love and affection. Familial love, but still more kindness and concern than he's ever shown her.
All she'll ever see from him is hate, disgust and a lack of any interest... no matter how hard she tries for the opposite.
Mandie saw this and sighed.
"I guess I really should return home..."She thought, believing that she is no longer needed here.
As she was leaving, Danny flew to her.
"Wait!..." He called out.
"I know... off world..." She said sadly.
"No, not that. Why... why did you save her?..." He asked.
Mandie sighed as she rubbed her shoulder.
"I don't know... maybe...I just really dislike that blue freak...and maybe I just wanted to liberate her from the trouble of dealing with him..." She admitted. "In any case, I guess this makes us even..."She said as she had a somber look on her face.
"Even? That's not why I saved your life..." Danny said while Mandie still looked confused by this.
She was confused about so many things regarding him.
"Then why did you if I disgust you so much?..." She asked.
"Because... I don't just destroy anyone to show off how powerful I am, that's what someone evil and uncaring is like and I'm not that. I don't believe in might makes right, I believe in might for right. I want to use my powers to help people because it's the right thing to do..." He said.
Mandie turned her head and her eyes widened. She looked down, as if she was remembering something from the past as she heard this information.
"No one has thought that on Boudacia since my mother was a little girl..." She said under her breath.
"I see... well... best of luck..." She said, since she knew that she overstayed a welcome that was never wanted.
She was about to leave, but Danny spoke again.
"Wait..." He said as she stopped.
"Will you... come back?..."He asked.
Mandie stopped, wondering what he meant by that but had an idea.
"I won't invade if that's what you mean. A deal is a deal..."She said, since she knows she owed him her life and sparing Earth was part of it.
Sure, in the past, she did go back on her deals with her enemies...but she didn't see Danny as her enemy, even if he rejected her and saw her as an enemy.
To her surprise, the ghost boy flew in front of her, looking less hostile than usual and he said something that shocked her.
"No... I mean... can you... come back?..." Danny asked as he rubbed the back of his head.
Mandie was surprised by that, her eyes widen a bit as she registered what he just said.
"For what?..." She asked, not expecting this.
"Uh... to... talk? Maybe... hang out a little too..."Danny said awkwardly.
Mandie was confused now.
"But...you said that you can't stand me and kept telling me to leave and never return?..."She asked, taken a back by this contradiction, given how he acted.
Danny sighed.
"I know and I meant that at the time but...you just saved Dani, even when no one asked you to, you had no idea who she was and did it without expecting anything in return..."He said.
"Well, I suppose that's true enough but she and I did have a common enemy..."She said.
"So, she is your family?..."She asked, surprised.
Danny nodded.
"Yes, and she was on the run...If you haven't had come back when you did, then, Vlad's cronies would have gotten her and I wouldn't have known until it was too late..."He said, hating that he had been fooled by that fruitloop and his bird-brains...and that this space princess was the one to save her life.
A spark of hope came as Mandie wondered if this meant he changed his mind.
"So...does this mean you are reconsidering my proposition?..."Mandie asked hopefully.
"Back up, Princess Personal-Space-Invader...I still have no intention of getting married, I'm still a minor and you just did one good deed after weeks of harassment and unwanted affections..."He said.
Mandie looked dissapointed and Danny sighed.
"But you did save my cousin's life for no gain...so...as long as you promise not to invade the earth or try to force me down the aisle again, I guess we can start over, talk things out...and maybe take things one step at a time..."He said, albeit reluctantly.
He still didn't completely trust her but she did go out of her way to protect Dani and keep Vlad from finding out her whereabouts, so he owes her one.
He is still to not trust her but he has to set some boundaries.
"I take it there are conditions here..." Mandie asked.
Danny nodded.
"Mandie, I mean it...you're crazy, violent and you invaded my personal space, along with making me consider never trying to French kiss for a while..."He said.
Mandie frowned, offended.
"But at the same time, you went out of your way to protect my cousin and help me take down the fruitloop before he could seriously hurt her...so I gotta say...thank you..."Danny said.
He glanced at her with something he has never shown before, respect and a genuine smile but there was still some suspicion.
"I honestly have to say, anyone who helps me like that...it's just...a lot... so you can't be all that bad..."He said, meaning it.
Mandie looked at the ghost boy, feeling her heart jump in delight. While she was unsure of the emotion, she had one question she needed to be answered.
Her most important one.
"Danny, is there any chance I can get you to reconsider accepting my love and marry me?..."Mandie asked, not out of desperation but out of genuine want.
Her plans were in the back of her mind right now.
However, she saw the look on his face and figured what the answer was as Danny sighed.
"I already told you, I'm a minor on my world, even if you're close to my age..."He said but took a deep breath before continuing... "But...considering all that you've done, I'd be open to open to at least getting to know you first before we become friends, then maybe we'll talk about a date...and who knows, maybe things might work out or maybe not..."He said.
The boy pointed a finger at the girl with a stern face.
"But any more abductions or fights, and everything is off! We are not fiances but we can try and be friends for now. You can take it or leave it!..."He said seriously while the alien princess pondered over this.
"Friends?..."Mandie said, as if the word is foreign to her.
"Yeah, friends, people who just talk and hang out without anything intimate...I am serious Mandie, I want a kind girl who I know, who cares about me and likes me for me, all of it...I have no desire to get married at this age, especially to someone who's only good trait is their looks...but if you can prove to me that you have more than that and can contain all this marrying nonsense and not abduct me like last time...I'll...consider maybe going on a date and seeing where things go from there..."He said, looking reluctant but with a slight blush on his cheeks.
"A...date?..."Mandie repeated, pondering the word like it was the only thing in the universe right now.
Well, this one at least.
Mandie thought about it.
She still wanted him as a mate and was impatient...still, progress was progress.
"He doesn't want to marry me and still doesn't seem to trust me...and yet...he is reconsidering our deal and is willing to court me if I do this..."Mandie thought as she considered the options.
Her previous attempts of force, abduction, seduction, bribery and challenges all failed and only made him want to be away from her...but now, he is open to talking to her and possibly more if she plays her cards right.
"Maybe I should consider a new strategy and play the long game..."She thought about it as she just wanted him to not hate her anymore.
Right now, this is the most positive her beloved has been around her in weeks...so maybe this was the chance she had been searching for the whole time.
"Very well...I am willing to settle for this...for now..."She said. "In time, you'll see that I can prove myself to you..."She said.
"We'll see, now best get home before anyone notices you're gone..."He said.
Mandie nodded and was about to go before looking back.
"Is this... how friends act? Seeing each other off?..."She asked.
"I... guess?..." Danny said, looking awkward.
Mandie thought about it.
"Okay..."She said, pleased as the boy lead her back to the human world.
Mandie smiled as she found herself feeling odd but happier over this whole thing.
"Maybe there's a chance after all..."She thought, feeling more hopeful for herself and her future with her beloved.

3) Hard to say, I guess it's a tie between the ghost gauntlets and the Fenton fisher. In my opinion, the ecto-suit is too dangerous to be considered one of his favorites.
Invader Johnny: Well, she didn't get a chance to use it on Vlad but at least Vlad got some karma.

1. It's always important to have your characters portrayed like they are in canon, don't make changes in their personality unless they went through some kind of development in your story and also try to stay close to both shows canon as you can, while also adding your own ideas.
2. Here are the 3 things:
a) You should definitely involve both shows settings.
b) You should have more than just the main characters interact with each other.
c) Always have the lead characters meet and get to know each other.
3. Yeah, you don't have to feature both of them too much if it doesn't work with the flow of your story but be sure to at least mention the other world.
4. Lots of action, humor and maybe some romance if you want that sort of thing.
5. I would say keeping every one in-character or at least the way you want to portray them in your fic.
