Phantom vs Aliens: Hot Ectoplasma!
Chapter 28: A Fresh Start?
Mandie was in high spirits, feelings better than she has in weeks.
She has just left the icy realm and ghost world with her beloved who found another portal which was closer to his home town...and closer to the place where Mandie parked her ship.
Now, he escorted her there and she felt the urge to cling onto his shoulder, but restrain herself since she had just achieved a more friendly relationship with the boy and he was willingly in her presence.
Soon, they arrived to the ship and stopped at the entrance. The two looked at each other and decided to speak.
"So..."Danny said, unsure of what to say next.
"So, what do earthlings usually do when they leave their…friends?..."Mandie said, feeling a little out of her element here.
"Hopefully the same way others do..."Danny said with a chuckle. "Anyway, you best get home before you're folks figure out where you went..."He said, not wanting to risk more invaders.
Mandie realizes his point but not without at least attempting to flirt with him.
"Well, how about a little kiss goodbye?..."Mandie tried but Danny held his hand up.
"Remember what I said...I said that I'm open to hanging out if we try being friends first and you DON'T try make kissy faces at me or force me into a shotgun wedding again..."He reminded. "And I don't kiss someone before the first date. So why don't we just ends things today with a handshake?..."He said.
Mandie pouted but complied, not wanting to push her luck and settled for a handshake.
"Very well, see you soon Danny Phantom. I look forward to our next encounter..."Mandie said with proper decorum.
"Sure...just give me a heads up first..."Danny said in a more receptive way which pleased the alien girl.
"Very well...until our paths cross again..."She said as she stepped inside her ship, but not before blowing a kiss to him.
"Sure...just give me a heads up first..."Danny said in a more receptive way which pleased the alien girl.
Danny saw the space ship leave the atmosphere, disappearing into the stars and sighed.
"I really hope that I'm not gonna regret this..."He said as he flew back home.
Still, he had a feeling that the next time they meet one another, she might keep her word.
Mandie did protect Dani, even when she thought that she was just some random kid who was just at the wrong place at the wrong time...so maybe there's some hope that she can reform and change her ways.
He believes that everyone deserves a second chance...even if it's a spoiled, crazy alien princess with boundaries issues.
"At the very least, she didn't try force me to come back to her home planet again..."He thought as he flew back home, feeling uncertain of the future but hopeful.
With Mandie
In her ship
The alien princess was brimming in absolute joy over the recent development.
"I can't believe it. He actually reconsidered our deal and is open to spending time with me..."She said in excitement.
Sure, he still refuses to marry her and earlier today, he had made it absolutely clear that he wanted her away from him..but .now, he is open to spending time with her and wants to take things a step at a time...as long as they start as friends and..."see where it goes" as he put it.
"Friends?..."Mandie thought, unsure.
As crown princess of Boudacia and the daughter of war lords, the very concept of friends wasn't something she was really familiar with...she was used to allies...still, this was something that was ironically alien to her.
"This may be my best chance to get him to fall for me... I cannot mess this up..."Mandie thought, determined.
She was going to win Danny's heart one way or the other, even if it means the long way through friendship like this.
"This may just be my greatest challenge yet..."She thought as held her head up high, an excited grin on her face
Later
Mandie soon arrived to her home planet, feeling much better than before she left, even if it was for different reasons.
"I had better go report to mother on what happened..."She thought as she had been the one to give her permission on this "mission".
She soon turned to her servants and robots, making her demands clear.
"Where are my parents?..."She asked.
"There are having a meeting with the council since you left, something about sending exploration teams to help draw up a new map of the galaxy..."Dieana said.
Mandie sighed.
"At least, someone around here is thinking about the bigger picture..."Mandie thought as she made her way to her bedroom until something got in her way.
"PRINCESS MANDIE!..."An obnoxious voice was heard.
Mandie rolled her eyes as she turned to see Brutis, who was still battered and bruised from his battle on earth.
It was obvious he must have recently awaken due to his current state.
"I see that you are conscious again. And here I was hoping you were still out cold..."Mandie said, making her distaste of seeing him so soon obvious.
Brutis growled at that.
"My fair princess, you cannot be serious about wedding that accursed earthling!..."Brutis said.
Mandie didn't like being ordered around by someone weaker than her and not taking a hint she hated him.
"And why not? He's good-looking, spirited and very strong or did that defeat that Danny oh-so effortlessly handed to you damaged your memory..."Mandie mocked.
"That dual was anything but valid! That freakish earth peasant must have used some sort of trick or dark magic to defeat me!..."Brutis yelled in denial.
Mandie rolled her eyes again. There was no tricks or "dark magic", Danny just used his powers and own skills, something this idiot refuses to admit to.
"I have no time for this nonsense, now get out of my way or be moved!..."She said, about to leave.
"Princess Mandie, please be reasonable. Such a delicate creature like yourself, shouldn't be sullied by a lesser creature. It's not right for a female, especially a princess, to chose such a scrawny mate, no matter how powerful they may act like they are..."He said.
He didn't realize until it was too late that what he just said was the wrong thing to say since Mandie's hair turned to fire. She marched to the pathetic male warrior and grabbed him by the collar, lifting him to force him to look her in the eye.
"Listen here you idiot, I am NOT some dainty little princess for you to hang up like a trophy in any way. I have no intentions of even associating with a sexist fool like you who's all talk but can't even last 10 minutes as a decent sparring partner, much less provide suitable companionship..."Mandie spat.
"At least, Danny is strong enough to make me break a sweat and defeat me in proper combat. Heck, during all the time that we've traded blows with each other, the way he fights leaves me breathless and not because of how he tired me out..."She said, smiling fondly at that, much to Brutis's dismay and anger.
"Something you could never hope to achieve..."She added, infuriating him even more.
"But he says that he wishes not to marry you...Rejecting your advances like our enemies at the battlefield..."Brutis said.
Mandie hated being reminded of that and took a deep breath to calm down before going back to glaring at the idiot.
"Maybe but unlike all my past suitors that came before him, especially you, Danny is worth the effort. Plus, I have a feeling things will change..."She said, deciding not to tell him about her plans.
It's none of his business.
"What's that supposed to mean?…"Brutis asked.
"It means you back off and leave me alone…"Mandie seethed, her hair sparking into flames. "Before I make you regret it..."She warned.
"Now get out of my way, I gotta go meet with my mother and continue my plans for Danny..."She said.
"You needn't do that! You know I can provide the mightiest heirs you will ever need!..."Brutis said, refusing to accept that she chose that earthling.
"Is that all you think I'm good for? Providing heirs? Do you simply see me as an attractive incubator?..." She questioned, getting angrier and angrier.
"No, of course not... just the only one worthy of me..." He said, clueless to the fact that was the last straw for the angry princess.
The boy went wide eye as Mandie's hair went aflame as she decided to forget looking proper around servants and assaulted Brutis.
The girl lunged at the him, unprepared for any attacks by the very angry princess as the nearby servants simply watched, knowing they couldn't stop the princess when she's like this.
"Poor Brutis...He deserves better than her..." Dieana thought as her crush suffered physically, coweing in fear by Mandie's wrath.
By the time she was done with him, everything hurt and he could swear everything was broken.
Once she beat Brutis to a pulp, the angry princess went back to her palace, eager to forget about the last five minutes of her life.
"P-Princess Mandie...wait! I haven't surrendered yet!..."Brutis let out in pain as his fan girls all swarmed him and tried to help him feel better.
Although no matter how many of his fan girls show up, they can't heal his broken pride.
With Mandie
The alien princess was now in her room, laying on her bed.
Her parents asked her how her mission to Earth went and she gave a vague answer to let them know now's not the time to invade.
She knew that right now is not the time to mention Danny to them...not yet, anyway.
"I wonder how long it will be until I can convince him to accept my love..."She thought, unsure about the future.
She knows that she loves Danny and wants him to be her king and father of her pups one day...but she still felt so many strange emotions around him that she can't pin point yet.
"Maybe being his "friend" can help me better understand those feelings...and maybe even help me find a way to his heart too..."She thought as she sighed.
For the first time in weeks, she felt like she has made progress in her "relationship".
Now all she has to do is not mess up, keep her promise to not invade his world and any more kidnapping attempts and try to convince him that she would be the right mate for him without being too pushy.
"I must be patient, I cannot mess this up!..."Mandie thought, resting her head on her pillow as she felt more determined than ever.
The alien princess has a brand new personal goal to reach, one that will will test her skills and limits like never before.
Meanwhile
On Earth
While Mandie had returned home, Danny was back in his house.
He called Sam and Tucker over and explained to them what happened earlier today...and they were shocked to say the least.
"YOU DID WHAT?!..."Sam exclaimed.
"Sam, be quiet...this is a secret meeting...one that I'd like to keep from the rest of the world, especially my parents..."Danny said.
"Sorry... I just can't help but question why are you in a relationship with a hostile alien who wants to procreate super soldiers with you! Do I need to pick a wedding gift?!..." She whispered harshly.
"We're not dating. It's a truce...An unstable one, but a truce nonetheless and I made it clear she can't even so much as hold my hand..."Danny said while Sam looked against this and even Tucker had doubts.
"Dude, I know Mandie's hot, but I agree with Sam. Don't you think this could be a trick?…"Tucker asked.
"Exactly! How do you know that the moment you drop your guard, little miss entitled sucks you into her spaceship and dropping you off at the alter, where she'll be waiting in full dress!?…"Sam raised her voice, fists at her hips.
"Because I don't think she'll break a promise for the sake of her pride..."Danny said while the goth girl scowled at the ghost boy. "Besides, if she tries anything, I'll just kick her butt back to space..."He said, since he was starting to get used to that.
Sam did not look convinced, though.
"Honestly Danny? There are hundreds of girls you'd be better off giving a second chance to. Ember... Kitty... Valerie... heck, even Paulina..." Sam said, having a bad taste in her mouth from saying the last name.
"She's not wrong..." Tucker agrees.
Danny sighed, he knew he'd get it but was getting tired of criticism about his deal with the alien princess from his two best friends.
"Sam, I know Mandie is a space case but I don't think she's pure evil.. She saved Dani's life and helped me keep Vlad from finding her and the Infinity Map. so I'm willing to give her a chance..."Danny said.
"That's quite the convenient story...I don't buy it, she probably just did it to trick you or lure you into a trap..."Sam said.
"Sam, come on. Give the girl some credit. Anyone who doesn't like Vlad can't be all bad..."Danny said.
"And she's been trying to force you into marriage from day one…"Tucker added as he pulled out his PDA, showing photos he took of Mandie.
"I think credit is speaking for her..."He pointed out.
"Exactly! Plus, she's an evil alien tyrant from another planet who wants to conquer us and enslave you personally, she can't be trusted..."Sam argued.
"Yeah, but you said the same thing about Paulina..."Danny said, smirking at his comeback.
"You know, he has a point..."Tucker admitted.
Sam glared at the both of them, fists shaking in anger.
"I'm serious, that maniac is an actual villain and not just some shallow brat..."Sam said, hating this. "She probably just saved Danielle just to get on your good side and once you drop your guard! Wham! You're on her planet in a collar and tux!..."Sam theorized.
"She had no idea I even knew Danielle, so I doubt that…"Danny retorted.
"She's your clone and looks like you in both forms. Even if she didn't find out she's your clone, you two could pass of for brother and sister..." Sam pointed out.
"Technically, they are..." Tucker added.
"Exactly, so there's no way she wouldn't have figured that out..."She said, hating this more and more.
"Out of all the insane deals you could've made with, you just had to make with her of all people. How do you know that she's not going to try and abduct you against your will to force you to be her alien baby daddy again?!..."She exclaimed.
Danny sent a mildly annoyed look at reminding him of that but was silent. His friends were right, and it was no secret how Mandie felt about the ghost boy, or thought she felt but, Danny knew what he saw just now and had faith in the better of people, including hot alien princess who might need anger management.
"I'm aware of your concerns but I trust Dani's opinion of her. I made Mandie promise not to invade the earth and to give me a heads up if she does come back to earth soon...so, there. Problem solved..."He said. "We'll see how things play out..."He added while his friends, especially Sam, looked at him like he's crazy.
"You can't seriously tell me that you trust her after all she did to you?..."Sam said.
"I don't trust her, much less want to date, marry and have kids with her...but I wanna at least give her a chance to prove herself..."Danny admitted. "She saved Dani and didn't know how close we are, I think deep down, Mandie isn't all evil...maybe just crazy..."He said, trying his best to be confident about that.
Tucker shook his head in disagreement, but ultimately sighed in defeat.
"Dude, if you're wrong, just call us for help…"Tucker said.
The ghost boy nodded, and the two boys looked at their goth friend.
Sam was still against this but Danny refused to back down.
He made his choice and he looked up at the sky, contemplating the changes and wondering what his new "friend" is doing right now.
"I really hope I made the right choice..."He thought as looked to the night sky, wondering what the future has to hold now.
Overall, he just hopes that nothing bad would come from this development.
"So...on the slight chance things go really well... do you think she has a sister?..." Tucker asked eagerly, earning a slap in the head from Sam.
"Ow! What was that for?..."The tech-geek complained as he glared at his friend, wondering what he did to earn that.
"For wanting to take advantage of a terrible idea..."Sam said as she sent him an icy glare and he tried soothing the back of his head.
The ghost boy shook his head at that little display from his friends and decided to just look away, still wondering what the future has in store now.
Meanwhile
In The Ghost Zone
From the depths of the Ghost Zone, in a clock tower lair, the master of time, Clockwork, had been watching everything unfold with two guests. His cyclopian company watched with distressed in contrast to the time master's calm demeanor.
"Well, now. Things are getting interesting..."Clockwork chuckled as his form changed from an old man to a young man.
The Observants weren't amused, though.
"Things are already unfolding fast!…"one said.
"Indeed. Mandie must be dealt with…"The other said before he pointed to Clockwork.
"Clockwork, under the council's orders—..."He was cut off when the time master interrupted him.
"I will continue to watch…"Clockwork said simply as he aged from a man to a child.
This did not go well with the two cyclops-like ghosts at all.
"What?!..." They exclaimed in unison.
"Continue to watch?..."One of the observers repeated dumbfounded.
He then snapped and yelled at the master of time.
"Continue to watch?! You are aware this Mandie and her planet are not of our universe! The mere existence of her home world can have ramifications beyond comprehension! And you do nothing but watch!?..."He shouted in outrage.
"It can, doesn't mean it will..."Clockwork said calmly but the other ghosts remained stubborn.
"We can't run the risk of Earth on a simple will or will not on what they do to Earth!..."One of them argued.
"The king and queen of Boudacia intend to take over the Earth and find some way to enslave this universe and their old one, and their daughter admitted that she intends to lead the ghost boy in the same direction as them and breed powerful warriors if she gets him in her arms!..."He said, reminding him of what could happen if Danny goes down a dark path.
Clockwork knew that, he knew why they are against this but then again, he knew everything.
"We don't have to worry of what could happen if you just do what we want you to do for once!..."He complained while the time master rolled his eyes.
"Mandie and her parents bloodthirsty and dangerous, I agree but now that they are here, different paths can be taken. At the very least, Mandie did something no one expected and things worked out. There are multiple paths these two could take. It is no guarantee she will revert to her villainous ways..." Clockwork said.
"Nor is there a guarantee she will reform. Clockwork, do something!..."The second observant demanded.
Clockwork glanced over his shoulder at the ghosts. His eyes held a calm storm as he spoke to them.
"If you have a problem with how I work. You can always do the dirty instead. How about it?..."He asked.
Silence filled the room as the Observers floated still.
"I thought so. Now, I believe you know the door..."He said, making it clear that he wants them gone.
As his employers left, the time master looked back to the "screen" and stopped at the image of Mandie after she just defeated Vlad's vultures, keeping them away from Danielle
He saw Mandie standing proudly, her face full of triumph, power, and pride as she saved someone for once.
"And there it is..."He thought as he continued to watch, raising an eyebrow with intrigue.
As the master of time, he sees time like a parade from above, where he sees all the twists, turns and angles it can go, not only in this universe, but anywhere time exists.
He knew of Mandie long before she arrived here and knew several of her destined paths in other timelines. Either as a tyrant, a criminal, a prisoner of war, a slave and even a ghost. Paths that came due to her refusal to give up her plans for universal domination or claiming a powerful mate.
He also knew that most times, any potential meeting Danny was met with rejection and led to her defeat again.
However, what happened today was something that was unexpected and didn't happen in those other timelines, an act of decency. In those other timelines, the girl had never saved anyone or had been very merciful because of how her race behaved, but now something different happened.
He knew that what she did today, protecting Dani was not to claim Danny in any way, as she sincerely didn't know about their connection at the time. Even if she somehow didn't see the similarities between her and Danny, she did him a favor and he was grateful...enough to give her a chance to see if she's capable of redemption.
Of course how she follows through with her actions was up to her. If something were to happen to entice her to going back to her old ways, it would be a problem. Being from another universe and a villain by birth, the Observants were very wary of the temptation of old habits, not to mention that time fluctuates and that was always a concern. He knew that his so-called bosses were afraid of the danger she could potential bring and that it will be a "glitch" that will need to be corrected.
At best, the Observers were worriers and nuisances.
"Those fools don't see it yet but there is a change slowly happening within Mandie..."He mused, still holding his staff.
"Still, it's obvious that a lot is changing, including Mandie's path. While her reasons for protecting Danielle were mostly to spite Plasmius, it doesn't change the fact that she chose to protect another life, instead of conquering..."He said as he studied the alien princess some more.
He used his powers to see events from her life in her old universe and compare to what she was before.
It was obvious that Mandie was a ruthless warrior and tactician, destined to have become a tyrant with an iron fist had she not been stopped by her enemies, It was no wonder the fairies decided to move her planet here, even if it was rather inconsiderate and disrespectful to send them here.
They already had their own problems, as it is but Clockwork never interfered in events unless it was necessary to get personally involved.
Right now, there was no need to deal with Mandie. It is true that the Boudacian princess was and is dangerous, she is not without a few humanizing qualities qualities. At the very least, Mandie cares for her parents and at least thinks her feelings for Danny are love, even if her methods to earn his love are less flattering to him.
Still, she wasn't without a shot to prove that she can be more than just future tyrant and this was a chance to see if she really can change.
"This may be her only chance to prove herself..."The time master thought.
For now, he would just wait and observe as he watched Danny and Mandie paths grow more entangled with each other's.
