Chapter 34: Mandie's Progress
"Looks like we gotta end our conversation here for tonight..."Danny said.
Mandie heard this and felt some disappointment at having to end their pleasant conversation already, but remained optimistic.
"Pity, but I understand that just means that we simply continue this lovely talk of ours for tomorrow...Pleasant dreams, Danny..."Mandie said flirtatiously before blowing a kiss at him.
She soon hung up and stretched her limbs from the night stiffness from being in one position for over an hour.
She didn't mind it too much, given what she was doing and with who.
The alien princess, who was now in the middle of her room, sighed and held the communication device in her hands.
"That was wonderful..."She whispered, feeling over the moon as she thought about Danny.
They had spent a glorious day together on his planet and spent the last hour having such a wonderful conversation, talking about so many things. The alien princess blushed as she thought about her beloved and judging by how it went, she was certainly making progress in winning his affections.
Sure, he says that he only willing to spend time with her as a friend but it's a start.
Just last week, he seemed to hate her and wanted nothing to do with her and today, they spent the entire day together and no fists flew at each other. True, she wouldn't mind sparring with him at some point in the future but she took today as a good sign that he no longer despised her.
He went on rides with her, shared a meal with her and even seemed more receptive to her presence now.
"And he doesn't consider this courtship but I know that I'm making some progress between us..."She thought, feeling hopeful.
She's already made more progress in just a few days than in the weeks she has known him.
"Our future together is all but guaranteed. I just know it..."She thought, feeling giddy.
A knock came from her door, alerting the princess of a servant. She tried to regain her composure as Dieana came into the room, bowing in respect before entering.
"Princess Mandie, I trust by the smile you are well..."The servant said.
"I am fine, Dienana. Just relaxed..."Mandie said, keeping her decorum.
"I see. I was sent to ask if you'll be needing dinner..."The servant said.
"No. I already ate. I believe I'll retire for the evening..."Mandie said.
"As you wish, your majesty..."Dieana said as she left the room.
Mandie yawned as she decided to rest up for the night. Tomorrow is another day and she had some routine training and royal errands to get through.
Plus, she wanted to be ready when she reunited with Danny again.
"It's slow but working. It'll all be worth it when he and I truly together..."Mandie thought as she changed out of her regular outfit and into her nightwear.
Once done, she went to her bed and got under the covers.
"I wonder if he'll dream about me and our day together?..."She thought as she imaged snow white hair, glowing green eyes and cute dimples.
The alien princess felt her cheeks heat up like they were about to ignite before falling asleep, still thinking about her darling and how bright their eventual future will be.
In Mandie's Dream
Mandie found herself at the pier with Danny, but saw herself without a disguise. She washer true form in a beautiful set of battle armor. While she had no weapons, the girl found herself comfortable as Danny gripped her hand.
"You know, I'm glad I got to meet you…"Dream Danny said.
He turned to her with loving eyes as he continued.
"I never thought I'd meet such an amazing girl…"He said, being romantic with her.
Mandie blushed at the compliment as she giggled girlishly. She saw a ride coming from behind, the tunnel of love, as it floated towards them.
The two turned to it as Danny led her to the swan boat coming out of the tunnel.
"Surprise, my love..." Danny said as she saw it.
"Oh Darling..."Mandie said in joy as he lead her in the boat.
The two sat together, holding hands as the romantic ride started
The ride was festive with all signs and gestures of love from both Earth and Boudacia. Flowers littered the sides as cute little earth bunnies hopped around while earth wolves were chasing them. All the while, depictions of Cupid could be see firing their arrows into the form of hearts.
"It's beautiful..." She said, admiring the romantic atmosphere.
She then felt a hand on hers and turned to see her beloved, who was sending her loving looks. It made her heart beat faster and her face flush even more.
"Oh Danny..."Mandie whispered to him, feeling more in love than ever.
"Oh Mandie…"Danny said breathlessly as he leaned towards the girl.
Mandie gasped with joy before she leaned in for the kiss, savoring the moment till everything stopped.
It was like time froze just to preserve this moment as the ghost boy and the alien princess shared their first mutual kiss together as a couple.
End of Dream
In Reality
Mandie was still asleep, with a peaceful smile on her face as she kept dreaming of her darling and things she hopes will happen in the future.
"Wonderful..." She muttered in her sleep.
The Next Morning
Mandie got up and felt positively blissful as she did her morning routine and training before joining her parents for breakfast, with Fufu joining them.
The alien princess was glowing as she was in a constant state of head-in-the-clouds-like joy, which her father noticed.
"Is everything alright, Daughter?..."He asked as his daughter had a rather dreamy look on her face.
"Oh, yes father. Everything is quite ideal. Just thinking up some new way to vanquish any new enemies that dares challenge our empire..."Mandie said as she ate the meal, still looking content.
Her father sent her an inquisitive look while Queen Milee looked nostalgic as she could figure that her daughter has more on her mind than battle.
"Seems that she really has found an ideal suitor. Ah…to be young again..."The queen thought as her daughter finished up eating.
"All done, now if you'll excuse me mother and father, I must be off..."Mandie said as she got up and even grabbed Fufu.
"Where are you going?..."Her father asked.
"Out, I want to inspect my weapons. Plus, Fufu needs some exercise and cleaning afterwards..."Mandie said as she left with her pet.
Her parents were at least relieved at how happy their daughter was but King Maurus was suspicious at her behavior.
"That girl...we are planning an invasion and she has her head in the clouds..."Her father said, slamming a fist on the table.
"Teenagers..."Queen Milee said as she went back to eating her own breakfast, while her husband grumbled.
"Calm down, Dear. She's probably still thinking about that suitor she's hiding from us..."She said.
"I still believe that she should reconsider Brutis's proposal..."King Maurus said.
"I still can't believe you don't see why she won't accept him..."Milee thought, knowing how that would end if they bring it up again. "Mandie will be fine, she is a mighty warrior and I am sure she will make the right decision..."She said.
Her stubborn husband relinquished his anger as they continued eating their breakfast together. There was still plenty of time to coordinate the attack and gather the troops for an invasion.
"Besides, it's not like any male can outdo you as king..."The queen said with a smirk.
Maurus knew that she was teasing right now and decided to remain silent, his arms crossing signaling the small victory to the queen as she hid her smile from her grumpy looking husband.
With Mandie
The alien princess was elated as she did what she said that she would do and remained quiet, all the while, she thought of a certain ghost boy who had a special place in her heart.
"I wonder how Danny is doing right now..."She thought as her hands were on her intergalactic phone.
She wanted to call him, but knew that right now he would currently be busy either attending school or protecting his territory from any ghostly adversaries that sought to end his life, only to be swiftly dealt with by him.
The strategist in her was telling her to take the initiative and come to him but she also knew that it might be too soon to do just that.
"Should I make a quick trip to his home planet again or is it far too soon?..."She thought, her mind was now wrestling with itself.
This friendship with her chosen mate thing was new to her, so she didn't know what she was doing. She just knew that she had to be careful and mindful of her actions.
She has made a lot of progress with the ghost boy and she didn't want to risk jeopardizing any of it by relapsing into her more possessive attitude, the one that put him off in the first place.
"This is so stressful. I want to see him in person and watch as he pulverizes his ghostly foes into the ground so badly..."She thought, feeling impatient but she also had another reason.
She wanted to see him again, to talk to him again and to have another opportunity to try and win his heart but she didn't want to act too impulsive and ruin whatever progress she's already made with him.
"I have to be patient and play the long game. My victory will be all the sweeter..."She said, not wanting to risk giving him reason to still think of her as an enemy.
"Mrrr..."Fufu let out as she rubbed her leg.
Mandie sighed as she pet her.
"There's no need to concern yourself, Fufu. I haven't forgotten you..."Mandie said as she scratched her behind the ear. "I was just thinking about my beloved Danny..."She said.
The alien princess decided to put her previous worries aside as she got to planning, trying to figure out how to approach Danny for their next encounter.
"I don't want to have to wait until the next earth weekend to see him again. I must try and figure out a way to see him without causing issues between us..."Mandie wondered as she tried to brainstorm.
She then got an idea and smirked as she rubbed her hands together.
"Oh, I think I may have the perfect way to see my darling again..."Mandie thought as she continued to pet Fufu, smirking happily as she tried to figure out how to go about her way.
As Mandie kept stroking the hair of her pet and plotting, she had no idea that someone was spying on her from a distance.
A certain male who still has a few bandage from his last dual with a certain obsession with her, one who was smirking as the alien princess kept being unaware of his presence.
"Princess Mandie...soon, you will be mine, no matter what..."The figure said before quietly sneaking away.
Mandie never heard this as she went back to thinking about Danny and making more plans to win his heart.
Oh boy.
