Chapter 42: Wait...WHAT?!
"Okay..."Was Danny's answer.
Mandie only stood there, stunned and in silence once she registered what he just said. She blinked with a frozen brain before shaking her head. Did she hear that right? The ghost boy said yes?!
"Wait...seriously?!..."Mandie asked, almost looking like she didn't believe him.
Danny just stood there with an accepting look on his face and nodded.
"Yes...I'm serious, Mandie..."The ghost boy said. "We have been getting along better, you have been keeping your promise of doing no evil deeds. Plus, you really seem like stuff on Earth and I think I can trust you not to cause any trouble now, so I guess I am okay with agreeing to one date... as a practice run of sorts..."He said, rubbing the back of his head as he said this.
The moment he said that, the alien princess was completely overwhelmed with happiness, wondering if she's dreaming or not. She discreetly pinched herself and was overjoyed to see that she WASN'T dreaming right now.
"He...he...he really agreed to going on a date with me?! YAHOOO!..."Mandie internally cheered.
Unable to contain herself, the girl leaped in victory and hugged the ghost boy.
"I should've expected this..."Danny said as she gave him the biggest bear hug he ever felt.
"Yes, yes, yes! I'd love to go on a real date with you!~..."Mandie said in joy as she continued to unintentionally squeeze the life out of him.
She didn't realize she was squeezing a wee bit too hard, which the ghost boy was noticing.
"Mandie...can't...breath..."Danny let out, nearly turning blue right now.
Mandie realized this and immediately let him go, realizing that what she did might have been a little extreme again.
"S-Sorry...I... didn't mean to almost suffocate you..."She apologized, an embarrassed look on her face.
"Uh, it's okay..."Danny said as his breath return, as well as the normal color on his face.
After a moment, the two teens recollected themselves, maintaining a level of composure as they both tried not to look like fools in front of each other.
On the outside, Mandie tried to maintain her composure and not come off as too excited, since she didn't want to scare him off or nearly crush him with her hugs again. She then took a quick deep breath to regain her composure around him.
"Anyway...I'm delighted that you agreed to go on a real date with me..."She said, trying to sound in control and not jump for joy right now. "So, explain again what made you decide to FINALLY give me and my love a chance?..."She asked, trying hard not to look too giddy.
"Like I said, you changed a lot and seemed sincere that you really mean no harm anymore. I think I can trust you now not to kidnap me again. Besides…there's no harm in seeing if things can work or not..."He said, rubbing the back of his head again.
"Oh, Danny!~..."Mandie said in a dreamy way, an enamored look on her face as she leaned in to kiss the boy.
However, before she could express her joyous love, the ghost boy raised a hand and put in on her lips, stopping her. Mandie opened her eyes and saw that he was sending her a stern look.
"However, I want to be clear on something first..."Danny said, sounding serious, which caught the alien girl's attention.
"Why did I know there would be a catch?..."Mandie muttered before accepting it after pulling back. "Okay, what are your conditions?..."She asked, with a slight bit of curiosity.
"I want it to be clear and REMIND you that I am still a minor on my planet. I am not interested in marriage at this age and I am NOT making any promises about the future. This whole date is pretty much gonna be a trial run to see if we can really can work out as more than friends and potentially go steady but even then, I make no promises to push those boundaries any further then that for now. You can take it or leave it..."Danny said, making sure that she understood with he was saying.
Mandie thought about it and saw no need to argue any of what Danny said. Especially since she knew that it's probably the best she's gonna get right now.
"Fine, it's a start I guess. I still consider this to be good progress..."She said, finding these conditions acceptable for now.
"Another rule is that the previous terms of our agreement are still in play, which means no touching or kissing me without permission and no forcing me to go off world..."He reminded. "Like I said, you can take it or leave it..."He said, arms crossed.
Mandie pouted a bit but nodded.
"I'll take it..."She said, still seeing this as a step in the right direction.
The two nodded before the girl pulled herself beside the ghost boy, wanting to learn as much as she can on his plans.
"So...what shall we do for our first official date, Darling?..."Mandie asked, looking excited.
Danny paused, he honestly didn't think that far ahead, and was drawing a blank. He was taking out someone on a date. It probably would've helped if he had recalled actually dating someone before who WASN'T either a ghost overshadowing somebody or one of his former enemies who also hunted him.
"Well, I'm still deciding..."He said, deflecting part of his blame and bad luck on his villains.
Mandie smiled widely before the alien princess came up with a few ideas that came to mind. Part of these came from her dream dates with the ghost boy that she had since meeting him, each one a fantasy that she wished to live.
"Oh, I know...shall we say, dinner and a show at Boudacia's finest colosseum, the Rage Dome, where we can enjoy ourselves in the royal booth..."Mandie suggested, but the boy shook his head.
"Hard pass on that for now, Mandie. If we're having this date, then it's gotta be here in Amity Park...on my own turf that I recognize and won't need to watch my own back nearly 24/7..."Danny said, not loving the first suggestion for their first date location.
Mandie frowned, not liking what he might be implying just now.
"Darling, please. Are you really suggesting that I would try and trick you into bringing you back to my planet and force you to marry me against your will?..."Mandie asked in an offended tone, before realizing what she just said. "Again..."She added, not liking this.
Danny sent her a flat look and a slightly raised eyebrow. He made the girl lower her head as he talked to her.
"Mandie, I can trust you about a lot of things but we are NOT at the point where I can blindly go wherever you suggest, especially if it's off-world..."Danny said, be reasonable cautious.
Mandie pouted.
"It was only a suggestion..."She muttered, arms crossed.
"I wasn't trying to accuse you of anything, but that's still a big step..."He said while the alien girl sighed.
"I suppose you're right but I know you'd have loved it..."Mandie said, still pouting.
The ghost boy rolled his eyes before he tried to be civil with her again.
"So, how about I pick the place we go to?..."Danny said while the alien princess was still sulking.
"Hmpt, and why should I do as you say after how coldly you just spoken to me?..."Mandie said with her arms crossed.
Danny rolled his eyes.
"Fine, never mind then..."The ghost boy said as he was about to walk away.
Mandie, however, grabbed him by the arm and held him within her arms. An infatuated look on her face as she cuddled against him, clearly still into him, despite her previous attitude.
"Oh, I just can't help but love it when you play hard to get!~..."Mandie said, smiling as she hugged him like a stuffed toy and if it were a cartoon, little hearts would be floating around her.
Danny blushed a bit and was partially liking by her actions before phasing through her grip. She might have felt nice, but her grip was too tight. So, he decided to get back on topic here.
"So, you don't mind me picking the date?..."He said as the alien girl released him, now smiling and looking a little happier now.
"We'll do whatever you want..."The alien girl said, giving a loving stare as the ghost boy chuckled.
"Glad we agreed on that. As for our date...how about tomorrow...maybe we can grab a bite to eat, see a movie and then see where it goes?..."Danny suggested.
Mandie considered this, smiled and nodded.
"Deal!..."She said as she extended her hand to him, as if making an arrangement.
Danny took her hand and shook it, meaning there is no turning back now.
Later
With Danny
After Mandie went back to her home planet, Danny returned home, barely managing to avoid his curfew. He was now in his room, laying on his bed as he stared at the ceiling. His mind was on Mandie and what happened today, namely the decision he decided to take regarding her.
"So...I'm going on a date with an alien princess tomorrow...and I can't even say that's the strangest thing I have ever done..."He muttered, before chuckling a bit.
He then turned his head and glanced at the two models that Mandie had gifted him, both having been thoughtful gifts from her part.
"Still, can't say I'm not looking forward to it..."He thought, feeling optimistic right now.
He smiled a bit as he thought of the beautiful and crazy alien princess that worked her way into his half-life. While they started out as enemies, they gradually became allies, then friends and now he is taking a big risk tomorrow by agreeing to a date with her.
Still, he made that decision and is determined to see it through.
"As long as she keeps her promise and respects boundaries, I think this will be a good thing..."He thought as his mind went to the gorgeous alien he had become close to.
Until ANOTHER female he was close to in a sense entered his mind.
Danny recalled his friends, particularly one of them and knew that she would be against this even more than him just offering a chance of redemption towards Mandie. A certain goth girl who will no doubt blow a gasket when she catches wind of this. It's one conversation that he's not looking forward to having with her.
"Sam is gonna totally lose it if she finds out about this but maybe I should hold off on telling her about this...at least for now..."He thought, deciding to keep things on the down low for now.
The ghost boy then let out a yawn, feeling a little tired right now.
"I'll worry about that some other time..."He muttered as he went to get ready for bed.
All the while, his mind was on Mandie and what tomorrow might bring for the both of them.
Meanwhile
On Boudacia
Mandie returned to her planet and in record time, made a beeline to her room. Once there, she quickly locked the door, placed the security code that made her room mostly sound proof and then let out the biggest squeal and cheer that she ever had, which woke Fufu from her nap.
"Mrrr..."Fufu let out while Mandie picked her up and gave her a big hug.
"Oh Fufu, it finally happened. I'm going on a date with Danny tomorrow. Yes!..."The alien cheered as she unintentionally nearly squeezed the life out of her pet by her hugging, before she realized what she was doing and immediately let go.
"Oh, sorry about that..."She said, apologizing to her pet.
Fufu recovered from the "attack" and then went back to licking her fur, all the while Mandie continued to beam and be over the moon over the latest development in her relationship with Danny.
After all her planning and battles, things were going her way. She is sure of it.
Tomorrow is gonna be her first date with the ghost boy of her dreams and she can hardly wait. Her first date with the guy whom she really hopes to one day marry and start a family, the same guy whom she hopes will become her king one day.
The alien princess sighed dreamily as she thought of the potential future before something came to her mind.
"Wait...now that I think about it...tomorrow isn't just gonna be my first real date with Danny...but it's also the first date I have ever been on!..."She thought, as she fully realizes what that means.
Yes, she has many suitors who has challenges her for her hand in marriage (Brutis being the most persistent one) and yes, she had been married at one point but she never expressed any interest in any of them, much less allow herself to be courted by them.
Danny, however, is different.
He was not afraid to stand up to her and he also had the skills and strength to back it up. He was truly unlike anyone else she has ever met and she is so excited for their date tomorrow.
"Wait...tomorrow?..."Mandie paused as it just now dawned on her.
Tomorrow is going to be her first real date with the ghost boy and her best chance to get him to see her in a romantic light.
"Oh my gosh! I gotta make sure that this goes perfectly! What am I gonna do? What should I wear?!..."Mandie shouted as she rushed to her closet to find something special for tomorrow.
She only had less than 24 hours to prepare for her date and she had to make sure that it all goes well.
The alien princess then began to prepare for everything, first by going through every last outfit she had available in her walk-in closet. She needed to find the perfect outfit to impress Danny and the right weapon to compliment it.
"This has to go well! Every single, tiny, microscopic, little thing must go along like most of my battles! This is the only chance I have to win him over now! I can't blow it!..."Mandie exclaimed as she went through literally every outfit she owned, turning her room into a workshop.
Dieana and several of the palace's maids had passed by the princesses room and heard the muffled noises coming from Mandie's bedroom. Unable to stop their curiosity, they wondered what was up.
"Is the princess trying out a new training regiment?..."Dieana asked out loud while her coworkers raised a brow at some of the possibilities.
The others shook their heads. The idea was out of place, even by Boudacian standards. Still, they came up with some theories.
"Perhaps her highness is preparing for an evening with a handsome suitor?..."One maid said and the others looked at her strangely and some even shook their heads.
"Yeah right, the princess won't even accept Brutis's proposal or even his attempts to court her and he's gorgeous!~..."Dieana said with a dreamy sigh, which her fellow co-workers did the same.
"Yeah!~..."They all agreed with dreamy looks on their faces as they thought of the Boudacian pretty-boy.
The girls gave this much thought as the muffled noises continued and grew intense. Knowing that the princess likely doesn't want to be disturbed, they decided to leave her be and continue with their chores, unaware of what will be happening soon with the princess.
The Next Day
It was here, the day of the big date between Princess Mandie of Boudacia and Danny Phantom, warrior of earth. Needless to say, this is a very big deal for the alien princess, who had been looking forward for an opportunity like this for a long time.
"Careful, this pattern must be detailed without flaws!..."Mandie said as she carefully applied her makeup, needing to make sure that it's absolutely perfect.
She also double checked to make sure that nothing was in her teeth either. Thankfully, they were perfectly white and almost shining. One of the most important details in Earth beauty, as well as Boudacians standards too.
"Today may be my only chance to get Danny to think of me as a potential romantic partner. I CANNOT mess this up!..."Mandie thought, determined as she applied some lipstick and added some of her planet's finest perfume.
All for her big date today.
"This it is. This will be the day that neither Danny or I will ever forget, I am sure of it..."She thought as she continued getting ready, including preparing a certain little number that she has saved for an occasion like this.
"I really, REALLY can't wait to see his reaction to me wearing this in my real form..."She thought, giddy as she began to put the outfit on.
Once she was done, the alien princess was now dressed and ready for her big date with the dreamy ghost boy who has a special place in her heart.
"There, I better start heading to Earth soon. I don't want to be late..."She thought as she left her room, taking her most important items with her.
Walking through the halls, the guards dropped their jaws. To see their princess dressed in anything but armor had them murmuring to one another, and it wasn't long before the king and queen walked into her.
"Mandie, what is this?…"King Maurus demanded, eyeing his daughter as he stepped back.
"Nothing…"Mandie defended herself with a neutral face, mentally cursing herself for forgetting about her parent's whereabouts.
"Darn it! I thought they would be busy with more meetings today..."She thought, mentally cursing herself for being careless.
Still, she decided to play it cool as her parents started asking her questions.
"Why are you dressed like this, Daughter?..."Milee asked as she eyed the outfit.
"Oh, I picked this up the other day...what do you think?..."Mandie asked as she even modeled the dress for a moment.
Milee glanced over it and sent her daughter a curious look.
"To be honest, it is rather nice...a little simple in design and not something I would wear during raids but it still brings out your eyes and your figure quite nicely..."The queen complimented, her fashion critic side showing.
Her husband, however, wasn't as supportive or interested in this fashion discussing. He just went on to business, as always.
"Now, what are you intending to do with this?..."Maurus asked, sending her daughter a suspicious look.
Mandie still sent a neutral expression and stared at her father in the eye as she answered him.
"I was just thinking of…training…"Mandie lied.
"With no weapons or armor?…"Queen Milee smirked, staring at her daughter.
"Well…how else am I supposed to have a challenge?…"Mandie scoffed, raising a fist. "If none of these weaklings can provide one, then I'll have to make due with a different…set of rules…"She said, arms crossed.
"I see…"The mother's smirk never ended while her husband started to growl lowly.
"Where are you going to train, exactly? The training grounds are over there!..."Maurus said.
"I'm going to the moons of the planet Jupiter. The gases provide a war torn scene that I find admirable..."Mandie said, still lying. "I'll be back before bed..."She said.
"Very well, daughter. Have fun.."Milee said as she watched her daughter leave.
"That girl. We are still trying to wage war on the universe and gather support and she just wants to waste time exploring this place instead of marrying someone who is actually worthy of her!..."Maurus said.
Milee heard this and rolled her eyes.
"I see you're still clueless as ever on certain matters..."Milee said, seeing things her husband didn't yet.
"What? What do you mean?..."Maurus asked, looking back with an incredulous look.
"Never mind...anyway, let's go...we have to speak with the generals about gathering more material for our troops and ships..."Milee said as she lead her husband to the war room.
All the while, the mother glanced over her shoulder as she watched her daughter leave. A serious, albeit mischievous look was on the queen/mother's face as she kept to herself.
"I hope Mandie has fun with whatever suitor has caught her fancy. I really do hope that she brings him home to meet me soon..."Milee thought, giggling internally as she had a feeling that her daughter has a different kind of training in mind for today.
With Mandie
The alien princess smiled as she reached the hangar, though she dropped it as she walked by. No one needed to have an inkling of her plans, but that didn't stop anyone from staring.
However, as the girl walked by ignoring everyone, she didn't notice Brutis growling with a slacken jaw.
"Just what is this!?…"Brutis thought, unable to speak.
He had a sinking suspicion that she is planning on seeing a certain ghost boy and elope with him if she wanted...not that the boy would want to, given how big of a fool he is to actually reject the offer of royalty...not that the princess saw it that way.
"She's mine!..."Brutis growled as he walked in her direction, only to accidentally bump the arm that is still injured from Fufu's last attack.
"AHH!..."The male warrior yelled, getting attention.
"Oh, Brutis! Are you alright?..."One of his fan girls said as some of them rushed over to them.
"Are you still in pain? Let me tend to it?..."Another fan girl said, hoping to suck up to him to get him to consider her as a marriage partner.
"No, me! I can do it better..."Another fan girl said, wanting his attention as well.
"You can all tend to me if you'd like..."Brutis said as he didn't hate the attention he was getting from them...though he still desired one female only.
"I can let these smaller beauties tend to me while I plan my next move..."He thought as he was being tended to by these love-struck females, eyes on where Mandie went.
"You'll be my bride soon. I'll make certain of that..."He thought as his fan girls continued to vie for his attention.
In Mandie's ship
The alien girl had smiled in relief.
Once inside her ship, Mandie set the coordinates and then started barking orders at her droids, wanting to leave now.
"Light speed to Earth!..."She declared and her spacecraft was gone in a flash.
Traveling to Earth...and Danny.
Later
On Earth
Like Mandie, Danny had gotten ready for his date.
Since he knew his friends may be opposed to this, he only gave them vague details of his plans today and not the whole story yet. He just knew that for now, it's best not to talk too much about what's he doing with Mandie today.
Especially since it might have the goth try to pick a fight and try and convince him he's wrong or something.
Anyway, the ghost boy was now wearing a nicer set of clothes and even brushed his hair a little.
He also picked something along the way, since he didn't feel right showing up to a date empty handed.
"I hope that Mandie likes these flowers…honeysuckles, I think they're called..."He thought as he kept flying to his destination, carefully holding the flowers in his hands.
Soon enough, he landed in the usual spot in the woods and changed forms...just as a Boudacian star-ship landed before him.
"Right on time..."Danny thought as the ship's doors began to open up.
Once they did, Danny felt his jaw drop and his face turn red upon seeing his date from outer space. It was Mandie, who stepped out of the ship wearing the same blue dress she picked up at the mall days ago.
Now, Mandie already looked stunning in that dress while in her human disguise...but in her real form, Mandie is much taller and more...developed...so the dress was much more flattering with a tighter hug.
Something that the ghost boy couldn't possibly ignore...especially when his hormones went wild, a teenage boy's weakness.
"Wow!..."Danny thought, gawking at her like an idiot.
Mandie saw this reaction and was smirking with a small blush, knowing that she made the right choice on picking this dress.
"I knew that this was the right thing to wear!…"Mandie thought, as she did her best to show off how she looked in this outfit.
"H-Hi Mandie..."Danny said, feeling both of his nerves and hormones acting up.
Mandie blushed at his staring and looked down in blushing joy. She was a bit nervous about the date as butterflies danced in her stomach. A feeling she never felt around any male before, not even when she wanted him solely as a mate when they first met.
Imagining herself going to battle, the girl steeled her nerves as she walked up to the boy, who was still stunned by her appearance.
"H-Hi Danny..."She said, looking a little shy since this, by all intents and purpose, is her first date with the ghost boy.
The two stood in silence with blushes covering their faces. Both not sure what to say at first since while they are Danny Phantom and Princess Mandie of Planet Boudcia, right now, for all intents and purposes, they are just two teenagers going out on their first date together.
After a moment of thinking, Danny had an idea what to say to the alien girl.
"You look beautiful..."Danny said, since he can't like about that.
Mandie blushed again and played with the hem of her dress. She wasn't entirely used to wearing something in-conducive to combat, but she can't complain about the results. Especially since it's always delightful to heard a compliment from the ghost boy.
"Thank you...you look great too..."She said, also noticing that his outfit was both dashing and complimentary on him.
"T-Thanks..."Danny said, trying hard not to let his weak kneed reaction around girls to act up.
"Please...please...PLEASE don't let my pants fall right now!..."He thought as he tried to regain his composure.
The flowers rustled in his arms as he fidgeted to keep a straight back. He brought out the flowers, hoping he wasn't looking like a dork as he offered them to the alien princess.
"Uh, these are for you..."Danny said as he handed her the flowers.
Mandie's eyes lit up and she had a big smile on her face.
"Flowers? For me?!..."She said, looking touched as she took them.
"Uh, yeah...I'm not sure if this is a thing on other planets but...well, it's considered a nice thing to do for a guy to give girl flowers when he takes her on a date..."Danny said, gulping a bit and wondering if this was the right move or not.
Mandie just smiled more and took a whiff of the flowers, even feeling a little more lovesick right now but remained calm as she spoke to him.
"Believe me, this is considered a token of affection on other worlds too. The only place I can think that doesn't consider this as any good is Yugopotamia. Flowers burn them as their blood burst out in sheer pain..."Mandie said, recalling Mark's weaknesses.
Danny paused, wondering if any aliens species here would have that reaction.
"That's...good to know. I think..."He said, unsure how to respond to that remark.
Mandie then fiddled with her fake-i-fier some more and soon turned into her human disguise, still wearing her blue dress and tastefully done makeup from earlier.
The alien girl then was completely ready for their first ever date together. The thought alone sent jitters through her body as the girl giggled innocently. She did her best to stifle her joy and appear normal to the love of her life.
"So, shall we?..."Danny said as he offered his arm.
"Be still my beating heart!~..."The alien girl thought, her heart beating more and more.
Mandie just smiled more and nodded before she approached him quickly. It was obvious that she was eager to start this date.
"Lead the way, Darling..."She said as she took his arm, having no intention of let go any time soon.
The two unique teens soon left, ready for the first official date between them. Both feeling pretty nervous yet excited about today but both were determined to make the best of it.
Hoping for the best during their first date together.

3) I just thought it would be okay and it's just one year of an age difference, so it's not that big of a deal.
4) I see, well as stated in previous chapters, Boudacians try and find mates with power. They try and find the most powerful mate they can get their hands on and the resulting offspring usually inherits their parents strongest traits and power. In Mandie's case, she is a hybrid since her father came from another race but she takes after her more in the looks department. She also takes after her father in temperament and her fire abilities come from his side of the family.
