Phantom vs Aliens: Hot Ectoplasma!
Chapter 48: Changes IV
Danny had just said goodbye to Mandie and watched her leave in her ship, but not before she requested another goodbye kiss...which the ghost boy allowed since...well, he didn't see anything wrong with it since they were going steady now.
Now, he was flying back home, a grin on his face as he recalled that kiss and also the latest development in his life.
"I'm dating an alien warrior princess with a flame sword and a planet she's meant to lead one day. My life sounds like some sort of comic book...more so than usual..."He thought in amusement.
It was really ironic that his new girlfriend is also the same person who tried to bring him into a forced wedding for his powers, but now she genuinely has feelings for him and respected his wishes, agreeing to try and take things slow.
"Now that's one heck of a 180..."He thought, happy about it.
However, his mind went back to a more platonic relationship he had with a certain female and how mad she was about this whole thing.
"I can't believe she saw us like that. Not how I wanted it to go..."He thought, still upset and worried about that but he knew that he had to handle things.
Danny was feeling conflicted, unsure how to explain it. Part of him felt like he was betraying someone, but part of him also wasn't as upset, which only made him feeling more confused on what exactly he's supposed to do. He was in a catch 22, unable to properly figure things out but he is certain on some things.
He was happier than ever to be dating Mandie, and he was glad the girl was willing to wait before making any attempts at marriage, understanding that he's not ready for it...in her own way... But Sam saw them and pretty much exploded.
Part of him felt guilty for not saying a word about it, knowing he messed up yet still, he knew the goth girl would do this, she's always been like this.
She has always stubborn and unwilling to compromise, refusing to yield on her own unwavering opinions if others contradict her own. It was cute in a way, but only for so long before it gets troublesome. However, he couldn't wait and had to do it without letting Sam and the others know. Which might be hard to do.
Despite her attitude at the present, the two had been best friends for years, remaining close since they were small.
Very close.
The ghost boy sighed, feeling stressed about this whole mess.
"I hope Sam and I can sort things out…"Danny said as he made it to the front door. "I mean, it's not like she's gonna overreact or anything…"He thought as he arrived to his house.
As soon as the ghost boy opened the door, his words flew back into his throat as he was greeted by the sight of Sam, Tucker, and Jazz in the living room, seated on the couch.
"Uh…hey…guys…"Danny said awkwardly, slowly closing the door.
Sam was glaring at him while Tucker looked away like carnage was about to occur and Jazz just stared at her brother.
"Hey..."Jazz said.
"Sam told us that something happened and that you didn't share..."Tucker said, trying not to make eye contact and worrying for the worst.
The goth girl kept glaring at him, like he did something unforgivable, enough to drag the others to interrogate the ghost boy. It was obvious now that she would overreact and gather everyone, something he should have seen coming.
Danny knew that he was caught and sighed. He nodded, walking to the couch and taking a seat. He knew this was gonna be tougher than any ghost.
"Right…"Danny gave a long pause. "So—..."
"So, mind explaining to them about the alien tyrant you're apparently dating now?!…"Sam's voice was commanding as she leaned towards the ghost boy.
Danny hated being cornered like this but he also knew that he had to fess up. He sighed and nodded, shocking the others.
"Wait...you mean...you and Mandie are-..."Tucker paused and Danny nodded.
"Yeah, things happened and now we're dating. I even gave her a class ring..."He said, breathing out slowly like he just dropped a tank.
Jazz and Tucker were stunned with dropped jaws.
"You mean the hot, super hot, mega hot alien with flaming hair and matching sword who's been after you for weeks, Mandie?…"Tucker strangled out.
Danny nodded.
He knew that he eventually had to tell them everything, so it seems that they stop thinking he's under control. So, he remained still, waiting for the worst as he listened and spoke.
"Sorry about this, but I couldn't just say anything yet. I mean, come on, Sam, you got Tucker and Jazz here right after finding out…"Danny pointed at his friends, arguing back at the goth girl's voice with guilt and frustration.
"Of course I did! You clearly either lost your mind or got brainwashed by that space case and her crazy plan to turn you into her little man-pet!..."Sam yelled at him.
"For the last time, I'M NOT BEING BRAINWASHED! Would you just listen to what I have to say for once?!..."Danny shouted back, hating this.
"To what?! How she charmed you with her looks or probably used mind control on you with her tongue can't even tell the difference of what's clearly right or horribly wrong at all!?..."The goth yelled, getting into his face before Jazz stepped in.
"Sam, calm down. Let Danny explain…"Jazz said.
"Explain what?! That he decided to give in to baser instincts and appealing to a future dictator who is probably planning to invade and conquer Earth even as we speak?!What more is to be say than that much?!..."Sam yelled.
"Mandie's not planning on invading anymore. She told me that she won't do that..."Danny said.
"Oh, and you just expect us trust HER word on that?..."Sam said with an eye roll, looking like she might strangle someone right now.
"I've been talking to her..."He said, trying to get a word in.
The audacity of his statement got his friend to quiet down in a stupor. The goth choked on her words, trying to find her voice.
"I talked with her long enough to know what I'm doing..."He said, arms crossed.
"That so?!..." Sam questioned, clearly not buying it.
"Look, just hear me out at least..."He said, pinching his temple as he calmed himself down.
Everyone in the living room, except Sam, were giving the teenage halfa their full attention. He took a breath before speaking.
"Guys, I already told you that Mandie has changed. She really has. Yes, she tried to threaten to invade earth and yes, she tried to abduct me with plans of making me her evil alien king or whatever, but that was a long time ago..."Danny said.
"It hasn't even been 6 months since she crashed landed into your life and tried to force you into an alien shotgun wedding!..."Sam pointed out.
"True, but she has changed. She showed me that with her actions..."Danny insisted.
"She's not a bad person anymore. She saved Danielle's life when Vlad's goons were after her. She's helped me with my ghost fights and even stood up against Dash on my behalf when he tried to cause me trouble. She even helped me save some people from that fire and admitted that she LIKED helping people. She's also proven that she can be really fun and funny in her own way and she can be nice too once you get to know her..."He said in a serious tone, listing off Mandie's good deeds.
"She's more than proven that she's earned a second chance and I've given it to her, on the condition she follows a set of rules..."Danny said.
"Besides, I like her and she likes me, so there shouldn't be a problem with me dating her if I want to..."He said, smiling a bit as he thought about the past few dates and outings he went on with Mandie.
A certain goth girl, however, did not listen to him and kept looking at him like he was mad.
"I cannot believe how clueless and naïve you can be!..."Sam yelled, waving her arms.
Right now, the goth seemed more like a frill lizard, intimidating the ghost boy, or trying to be.
"Why do you keep saying that!?..."Danny argued.
"Because you are!..."She yelled.
"Really tired of hearing that! I don't get why you keep saying that!..."Danny said, hating this.
"YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! Mandie was probably just trying to get on your good side so she can get your guard down while she is waiting for the right moment to strike and kidnap you, so she could breed super soldiers with you like she wanted!..."Sam argued.
Danny shook his head.
"She's not gonna do that. Heck, Mandie even says that while she does wanna get married, she's not interested in having kids right away..."He said.
"That's not what she was spouting when she first showed up. She even threatened us, remember!..."Sam argued.
Danny sighed.
"Look...I know what Mandie did was crazy, but give me a moment to explain..."He said. "According to Mandie, her culture has values that are very, very different from Earth and are more...archaic? I wanna say archaic..."He said, being delicate.
"Apparently, marriage is a big deal to her race, and she's already at marrying age for her people...and since she's the princess and heir to the throne, she's under a lot of pressure to meet someone, get married and perform her duty of, and I quote: "continuing her bloodline" or something like that..."Danny said, using air quotes at the last part.
"The fact that she's already been divorced once is adding even more pressure to her..."He added, emphasizing the word divorce.
"Wait...she's been married before...and she's divorced?..."Jazz asked, shocked and the others stood up as if about to move in on the ghost boy.
Danny nodded and continued to explain things.
"Yeah, apparently in her old universe, she got married to some alien prince in order to get control of his planet and it didn't work out..."He explained.
"Gee, I wonder why..."Sam said sarcastically, with an eye roll.
"Sam, let me continue. Apparently, divorce is considered a disgrace on her planet, like the kind they don't let you live down that easily...it's also part of the reason why she was so desperate to get me in the first place, but at least she's agreed to back off on some things and respect boundaries as we go steady..."Danny said, backing away from Sam.
"And you're delusional to think she'll actually listen to you! Who ever heard of a galactic tyrant compromising with anyone?! You do realize this is probably just part of her plan, right? That's just another example that she's using to get your guard down..."The goth said, stomping her foot. "Clearly she's using your hormones against you!..."She insisted but Danny disagreed.
"That is not what's happening! Sam, look...Mandie might be crazy sometimes, but she has more personality than just a battle princess..."Danny said. "She's shown that to me times and time again now!..."He insisted.
"You just like how good she looks in a swim suit and in that scantily outfit of hers!..."Sam said in a hateful way.
Danny frowned at that bit.
"That's not it. Yes, Mandie is hot...very hot...gorgeous even...hotter than Paulina or any other girl I have ever-..."He paused when he realized that he was getting off track and getting a dirty look from the goth girl. "Anyway, what I am trying to say is that I like her for her, not just for what she looks like..."He said.
"We get along great and actually have some common interests…"Danny said.
"Let me guess, like fighting and swapping spit?!…"Sam's tone was a mix of yelling and sarcasm.
"That's crossing a line!..."Danny said, huffing anger before settling down, there was no need to elevate things.
"And she never did?..." Sam asked, arms crossed.
"I am serious! Mandie might be intense but I learned a lot about here these last few weeks to know she is being sincere. Heck, I even learned that she likes hamburgers and chocolate cake for crying out loud! Not to mention, she's attentive enough to know how much I love space and space ship's and even gave me stuff from space to be nice..."He said as he recalled those cool models she had given him as gifts.
"I wanna give it a chance and see if we really can work out as a couple. I think she's earned the chance for me to give this a shot..."He said, being serious.
Sam, however, looked angrier than before. She was like a science fair volcano filled with actually lava about to go off. That had Tucker and Jazz getting up for the worst possible case. Jazz got in the way of the goth girl. Angry or not, she would not let Sam do anything to her little brother. Tucker did the next best thing and he could and tried his best to hold her back.
They both instantly knew that if things didn't change soon, things could get ugly real fast.
"You do realize all of this is just so she can marry you!?…"Sam screamed.
Loud enough that she could've woken up the Fenton parents if they weren't out ghost hunting right now.
"Come on, Sam…"Danny pleased with his friend trying to calm her down, but nothing would get through to her.
"No, no don't you "come on, Sam", me. Even if there is a slight chance that she's actually becoming a better person...which I still highly doubt... it doesn't change the fact that she is still planning on sinking her claws into you and make you walk down the aisle with her eventually. And that's not including the super soldier bloodline she's after!..."She pointed out, shaking her fist to emphasize.
"Uh, correct me if I'm wrong but...don't most people date just to find someone to marry some day in the first place…"Tucker commented offhand.
He received a glare for his troubles, but he shrugged.
"Sam, Tucker has a point…"Jazz got in between the goth and ghost boy. "The fact that Mandie is taking her time instead of forcing Danny into a tuxedo is something to consider…"She said, while the goth girl is glowering.
The red haired girl ignored her and then turned to her brother, She placed a hand on his shoulder as she spoke, giving him a cautious yet curious look.
"Danny, are you really sure about this?..."She asked, worried but her brother nodded.
"Yes, I am. And if you let me introduce you again, I swear, you'll see she's a better person now..."He said, pleading with his eyes.
Jazz and Tucker shared a look, uncertain about meeting Mandie again. But Danny's confident smile convinced them, partly, to at least see the girl again and see if she really is as sincere as he claims.
But they would pack weapons, just in case. However, the sole goth of the group was unsurprisingly still not on board for the whole idea.
"You got to be kidding me?! You're saying you know how to give someone a second chance?!…"Sam scoffed, crashing back into her seat.
Danny nodded.
"And who exactly was the worst of the worst that got a second chance?…"She added.
"Me…"Danny pointed to himself with a thumb. "Or did you forget the time we went to the future?…"He said in a cold voice.
Soon, everyone got silent after that, even Sam. That was a touchy subject for the entire group and while things had worked out in the end and such an awful fate was avoided, it was still scary to think how close Danny was to becoming the destroyer of Earth.
"Exactly..."He said in a somber way, pushing the goth back with his tone.
"Danny..."Sam started, her tone a little softer now but still stern.
"That...that was different. You're better than that..."She tried but her friend didn't relent, he just shook his head.
"Sam, if we are both honest...I could have been even WORSE than Mandie ever could be..." He said, recalling a certain incident they all swore to never speak of.
"Yes, Mandie acted like a pushy, violent stalker and yes, she did do things that probably would have gotten her arrested if she was human, but she's acknowledge what she did was wrong and she's trying to change for the better. And I've been with her the entire way. She went out of her way to protect Danielle out of the goodness of her heart and she's made an effort to improve herself. That...THING...that I almost ended up turning into DOESN'T have those emotions or any redeeming qualities. He was willing to KILL you guys and my parents just to ensure his own existence and that's only ONE of the many awful things he did!..."Danny argued, still haunted by those memories.
Sam was deathly quiet, backing down as the ghost boy continued. He was not going to let her have a word till he was done.
"The reason we are all still here today and the reason I never became that horrible thing is because Clockwork gave me a second chance..."He said, waving his arms. "I was given a chance to be a better me...and I want to give Mandie a chance and show her that she can be more than just a potential tyrant, and she has shown me she's capable of change..."He said.
Sam frowned, hating that he was starting to make sense. Still, the stubborn goth girl couldn't back down so easily.
"That doesn't mean everyone deserves it..."She said, making it clear that she still doesn't agree with this.
The ghost boy groaned in aggravation, already sick of this reasoning and her stubbornness.
"Sam, I'm giving her a second chance, that's final! Plus, it's my choice who I date and I'm choosing to go steady with Mandie..."He said gesturing dramatically to emphasize his point.
Sam was still upset with this and snarled. Jazz and Tucker saw this and were worried a fight would break out. While that was the least likely outcome, they never saw the goth this upset. It was quite worrisome to say the least.
"This is going to take a lot of time and maybe some therapy for Sam..."Jazz thought, thinking like an adult.
"I really hope this doesn't make things more awkward..."Tucker thought, worried how this will affect things for them in the future.
Sam gave another disapproving look to the ghost boy and turned around, now seeing she wasn't getting her point across. With an angry goodbye, she left the Fenton household, glancing from the streets as tears broke through her eyes.
"Danny, how could you do this?!..."She let out, angry and hurt.
This was so not how the goth girl wanted things to play out at all. She just couldn't believe that Danny chose someone who was once his enemy.
AGAIN!
The goth girl went home, gloomier and more surly than usual, which is REALLY saying something.
Meanwhile
Mandie had returned home and barely even noticed when her ship returned to her planet. Her mind and heart were still filled with happiness and joy that she practically floated to her room, not noticing or caring about the stares she got on her way there.
Why should she?
Her biggest accomplishment to date has happened today. Bigger and more special than the time she slayed that deadly, giant worm that ate meat or the time that she took down that draconic poultra with her own bare hands in the galactic coliseum.. Bigger and more important than all those times combined.
DANNY PHANTOM HAS ASKED HER TO GO STEADY WITH HIM!
"I can't believe that he finally agreed to me my boyfriend! He even kissed me the way I've been dreaming of for ages!..."Mandie exclaimed in joy as she danced around in her room and even jumped up and down on her bed, looking and sounding like a happy school girl.
"Mrrr..."Fufu let out as she saw this and Mandie immediately jumped off her bed and picked up her pet.
"Oh Fufu, it was wonderful!~..."Mandie giggled as she even twirled around with her pet in her arms, dancing in place.
Fufu had no idea what was going on, but purred happily at her owner's pure, joyous actions. After a few moments, Mandie set her pet down, still buzzing in excitement. She reached for her phone and started texting once she put her pet down.
"Tonight was wonderful... I cannot wait until we see each other again... boyfriend..." She texted.
Once done, she fell back and laid on her bed as sighed out of happiness as she thought about the dreamy ghost boy.
"Oh, Danny!~..."She thought, sighing dreamily.
She laid with her back on the bed and look up at the ceiling before closing her eyes. The excitement of today caught up with her, and she yawned, feeling tired.
She soon found herself drifting to sleep, thinking about her beloved ghost boy and their possible future together.
In Mandie"s dream
Princess Mandie, now a little older, was at home with her husband, whom she was in a loving marriage with.
An older Danny Phantom.
Currently, he was helping make breakfast and setting the table, using dishes made from both Earth and Boudacian food.
"Mandie! Help me with this?..." He asked as he was at the stove, cooking something.
"Coming..." She said, bringing the dishes.
The alien wife, dressed in a silk garb, came in and greeted her husband with a kiss before helping him set the table.
"Thanks, Honey..."Danny said then finished cooking, taking the complete breakfast to the table, Balancing almost half a dozen plates in his arms while his wife smiled cutely.
"I'm always happy to help, Darling..."Mandie said, smiling as she helped him.
They began to place the rest of the mostly Earth-style breakfast on the dining table.
Her husband placed food on the dishes before alerting the rest of their family.
"Kids! Breakfast!..." He called out.
Soon enough, about 5 human/ghost/boudacian hybrid children appeared. All of them with their father's white hair, green eyes and their mother's yellow skin with antennas. They were also very cute and innocent looking, whom their parents both loved and cherished very much.
The children scramble to the table as they fight for their seats in a playful manner.
'"Now, eat up." Mandie said as she passed dishes around.
Her kids obeyed and soon they were all seated together and they were about to enjoy a nice family breakfast together.
"Thank you, Mom and Dad..." The eldest son said.
"What he said..."Their youngest said said.
"Yeah..."Their eldest girl said.
"Oh, children. It's certainly never a dull moment. I am so glad..."Mandie said as she giggled, still seated next to her husband.
Soon, the unique family had their breakfast together, sharing tales of training and other family things. Whatever they talked about, Mandie just felt like the happiest woman in the universe.
''Today looks like it's gonna be great day. So after breakfast, we'll squeeze in some training and maybe go play. Hope you're all prepared…"Danny said.
"Don't worry, I am always prepared to spend time with you and our children, Darling. Today is going to be glorious, just like yesterday..."Mandie said happily.
The children all agreed with smiles as they ate. Mandie laughed, wiping the face of their youngest with a napkin.
Once the kids were finished and Mandie ordered a droid to take the dishes away to be washed, the alien wife/mother was about to get ready for another day training and spending time with her beloved family, but not before she spoke with her husband in private.
"So glad we chose to spend Summers on Earth..." Mandie said, smiling so sincerely.
"Yeah... me too..." Danny said.
The two held hands as they smiled at one another. Both happy with their loving marriage and the beautiful family that they created together.
With the kids out of the house and playing outside, the two parents used this opportunity to stare longingly at each other, being romantic with each other.
"Anything else you need?…"Mandie leaned in with a sultry look on her face.
"I can think of something…"Danny returned the gesture as he wrapped his arms around her.
"Oh darling, you are so attentive and I love it!~..."Mandie said, puckering her lips and her husband did the same.
The husband and wife soon shared a kiss, feeling all was right with the world. Nothing could possibly ruin this moment, as the two adults continued sharing a loving and tender moment with each other.
End of Dream
In reality
Mandie awakened, surprised by that dream. I mean, don't get her wrong, it was wonderful. She had married her beloved, they had many children and they clearly loved each other but...
It was such a...idyllic setting...by Earth standards but it was exotic compared to traditions in Boudacia.
However, she had seen more of that cultural stuff during her visits to Earth. Those visits were enjoyable for the Boudacian princess but she was still confused. She wasn't even in her palace in her dream or training her offspring to conquer their enemies.
No...they were acting more like a regular Earth family. It was very unusual compared to the other dreams she has had since she had fallen in love with Danny.
"Why did I fantasized a mundane life? I was not raised this way.. but why did I find it so...nice?..." She questioned.
However, her eyes landed on the purple class ring that was shining on her finger. It sparkled and shined from the day light coming from her bedroom window, making it look even more beautiful than before. Mandie smiled as she rubbed the jewelry, as it has become her most cherished item right now, even more than the rest of the jewelry and gems she had as princess of Boudacia.
It made her feeling something warm and light inside her chest as she held it close to her heart. Those wonderful emotions that she felt around Danny were stirring within her again, making her smile more and more as she stared at the class ring on her finger.
"Still...I don't think I would mind any kind of life with him..."She thought, smiling to herself
The alien princess giggled as she got ready for her day, still wearing the ring that she has come to love so much. The one that she received during her unforgettable third date with her beloved Danny Fenton/Phantom, whom she is falling more and more in love with each day.
