Chapter 72: A Disastrous Engagement
Clockwork had witness what transpired in the Boudacian throne room via his time window.
Princess Mandie, the once rage filled tyrannical warrior princess of Boudacia from a completely different universe, changed into a young woman that was making a better future for her people, thanks to the one she wanted to marry. But she was now willing to give up that dream, to save the one she loves and her family.
He knew this would happen but he also knew that it didn't make Mandie's sacrifice any less difficult or harder to stomach.
Before today, Mandie, while she has improved as a person, still was somewhat selfish and dead-set in her ultimate desire to gain Danny as her future husband.
Here, she legitimately did something selfless for the sake of her loved ones and was subjecting herself to a lifetime with someone she truly hated, just to save not only the one she loved but also her parents.
He sighed, everything was going the way it should be but this was still hard to watch.
"Mandie truly has changed. After so long, she has finally put the needs of another before her own..." He said, speaking in his classic neutral tone of his.
He sighed deeply, rubbing his eyes, seeing that she was suffering.
He saw how this would end, and he was glad that everything could end well, but that doesn't mean he likes seeing them suffer. It was like when he watched Danny's journey to where he was now, despite the terrible setbacks he suffered.
The time master then sensed some unwanted visitors enter his domain. He groaned, expecting this before it even happened
"Would it kill you two to call ahead before showing up?..." Clockwork complained
"Why bother? You already knew we'd show up either way..." One observant said.
"It would still be nice to see if you learned manners and send a courtesy call first..." Clockwork said, ticking them off.
"Enough with this nonsense, Clockwork! You know why we are here!..." The other observant said.
Clockwork frowned.
"To complain again about Boudacia or about not receiving an invitation to observe the excitement of the century?..." Clockwork said, telling a joke despite his deadpan tone of voice.
"This is serious! Those Boudacians are planning on not only Invading the Earth but also destroy it and even promising to conquer other inhabiting worlds within our universe as well!..." One said.
"Correction, only one Boudacian, the one called Brutis is doing this, and you must have faith that Danny can stop him and his little coup..." Clockwork said.
He had seen what Danny, what every Danny in every timeline could do. So he wasn't worried that Danny is facing a spoiled, man child with delusions of grandeur.
"You put too much faith in him..." One observant said.
"You put too little..." Clockwork responded.
"Still, their presence here is too risky. You never know when another invasive planet would appear, and they might even be more dangerous that the Boudacians!..."Another observant said.
"If that happens, and if there is a chance that they can change, then I won't do anything to harm them..." Clovkwork said.
"However, if they threaten this universe, then I will use whatever in my power to deal with them…" He declared, a menacing look on his face.
"But until then, I will handle things MY way. Now, You know where the exit is…"The time master said, annoying his employers.
"Most know better than to smartmouth their boss..."The first observant said.
"Most aren't me..." Clockwork said.
The Observants soon left, clearly not happy but Clockwork ignored this.
He continued to watch the events unfold on the screen, knowing that many decisions will be made soon that will affect many lives. Which may even change a few other outcomes for events yet to come.
"We shall see how everything will truly unfold..." The time master thought, as he continued to watch the events unfold.
Meanwhile
Dieana was out cold, until loud familiar sounds from palace began bringing her back to the waking world.
"Errr...Brutis..." Was heard, as she slowly regained consciousness.
Slowly opening her eyes, she soon saw that she wasn't in the throne room or even a jail cell. No, she was in the castles servants quarters.
Specifically her own room.
"I'm back in my room?..." She asked out loud, confused to what was going on.
It took a while for Dieana to remember what happened, alongside the rush of emotions she felt.
She gasped, as it all came back to her.
Mandie's return, the fight and the throne room...and the broke her heart to a million pieces.
She was betrayed by Brutis, the one whom she loved with her whole heart. The one whom she devoted her entire life to, the one she betrayed the royal family for and the one who risked her neck to make him king.
The one whom she had risked everything in order to marry and have a family with him.
"Brutis! No! How could you?!..." Dieana exclaimed, hands covered her face and cried her heart out.
Tears fell as she tried to rationalize everything that's happened today. The more she did, the more her hear broke. Her dreams of becoming queen of Boudacia were ruined and her heart was shattered by the man she loved.
However, that only lasted for about ten seconds.
Now instead of feeling heartbroken despair, she felt unbridled, undiluted RAGE!
Her eyes leaking new tears, not of sadness, but of fury.
"How...could you?! HOW DARE YOU?!..." Dieana shouted, her purple eyes briefly flashing red with rage as she now desired vengeance.
That Brutis had not only lied to her and used her as a pawn, but he was STILL planning on marrying Mandie and making HER his queen!
He basically left her in the dust, forgotten, like an unwanted gift or an object to be thrown away.
"HE DARE BETRAYS ME!?..."She exclaimed angrily, as she grabbed her pillow and tore it to shreds.
She then grabbed a nearby heart-shaped frame, which had a picture of Brutis on it, and tore it apart.
"After everything I did for him, how could he do that to me?! And after everything we have been through?!..."She screamed, as she bit off the head of Brutis from the picture.
She started breaking everything that had Brutis' face on it; the pictures, the posters, the stuffed toys, the ice sculpture she crafted herself, the lovely marble bust that replicated the image of the wedding she had always pictured until now. She then proceeded to used said bust as stabbing dummy, every hit fruitlessly trying to ease her unbridled rage.
Once her room was covered in broken pieces of furniture and shredded pieces of paper, Dieana stood at the center of the carnage, breathing heavily.
"B-Brutis...you...will pay for what you did to me!..." She whispered, heartbreak and rage stirring deep within her.
She then stomped towards a bookshelf and pushed it aside, causing it to fall and break into pieces, revealing a small compartment.
She opened it and pulled out a case, which was opened when she placed her hand on the scanner. It opened with cold steam pouring from it as she lifted the lid, revealing various weapons made of ice, an ice sword, twin ice daggers, an ice mace, spikey ice knuckles, and an ice blaster.
The spurred maid/traitor was growling, imbued with a brand new kind of rage.
"You want to marry her so badly? Fine!…" Dieana said, as she picked up the blaster and aimed it at the ice head of Brutis' statue.
She fired a sharp icicle at it, causing it to shatter.
"Till death do you part!…"She said in a dark tone, as her icy daggers glowed a deeper and darker shade of blue.
"You'll pay Brutis. You'll both pay!..."She said, sounding colder than she ever did before.
Elsewhere
Beneath the castle was a chasm filled with hanging cages filled with the royal family's loyal warriors and servants, as well as the king, queen, and the princess's beloved.
Danny, Milee and Maurus were in separated cages. They were no longer in pain but still under the effects of the nanobots, and were trying to recover their respective strength.
At least two of them were, while one was letting his temper run loose.
"I DEMAND TO BE RELEASED RIGHT NOW!..." Maurus shouted, his fur smoking as he was tried to break out of their cage but to no avail.
His wife sighed, massaging her temple with one hand.
"Dear, enough! Save your strength and rage for when we actually make our escape!..." Milee said, not in the mood to deal with his restlessness right now.
Danny sighed in frustration as he looked at his cuffed hands. With Maurus in another cage, he couldn't uncuffed himself like earlier.
Still, he tried to break some of the tension.
"So…Are the cages new or something?…" Danny asked, trying to start small as he looked for a way to escape.
"The kingdom had these cages placed for ritualistic sacrifice after conquering an enemy planet, a decree from the second king of Boudacia…" Maurus replied, sulking as he leaned on the bars.
"Its also made of the hardest metals known to our old universe and can withstand the hottest lava in our planet…"He said, proud of the craftsmanship of Boudacian blacksmithing.
But not when it used against them.
Normally, he was proud of this planet's legacy in spite of the circumstances. However right now, he would give anything to save her daughter from the traitorous coward and tear him to pieces.
"I did say to get rid of these…" Milee said as she stared at her cage in distaste, since it still had a skeleton in it.
"A waste of time and money to keep maintenance for these cages. Not to mention such an eyesore…"She complained.
"Not the time, Milee!..."Maurus said, as he kept trying to unlock the cage.
"I see that the three of you have found some time to hang out with each other..." Vlad said as he floated in.
Danny and the alien couple glared at him.
"What now Plasmius?! Here to gloat?..." Danny snarked.
"That and I just wanted to see how pathetic you'd look in a cage, Daniel..." Vlad said, being smug.
"Well, is everyone feeling comfortable? Do you need anything? A soft blanket? A warm drink? Maybe some fancy sweets?..." Vlad said in a mocking tone.
"GIVE ME A KNIFE TO GUT YOU!..." Maurus exclaimed, snarling as he tried to reach for him but couldn't.
Vlad ignored him and looked at Danny.
"After the wedding, you and I shall be returning to earth, Daniel...and we'll both have to settle in our new lives within the Boudacian-Plasmius Alliance..." Vlad said in an arrogant way, as he was looking forward into using the Boudacians army to conquer his home and make it his.
Danny glared at him.
"Plasmius, you know all there is about being a scumbag. So, you should know that you can't trust Brutis? Do you really think a guy whose idea of getting a girl to look at him involves threatening her family?!..." Danny questioned, as he gestured to their current situation.
Vlad frowned.
"Don't talk down to me, but you do have a point. I don't trust that oaf but he is useful to me. A useful figurehead for me to use until I am ready to be rid of him. I already told you about chess, I am using pawns to topple a king, or in this case, a fake king..." Vlad said.
"HE WANTS TO BLOW UP THE EARTH JUST TO GET BACK AT ME! HE'S NUTS!..." Danny shouted, trying to get his foe to see how serious that is.
Vlad only rolled his eyes.
"Oh, no worries about that. If I can convince that fool that your fiery tempered princess will want to be with him after this, I can convince him not to destroy the planet... or at least only destroy Amity Park. But don't worry, your mother will be safe in my arms..." Vlad said, showing off his overconfidence in his plot.
Danny glared at him while the Boudacian royals frowned at how he had no issue with endangering his own world to claim a woman.
Maurus stared at the older halfa, feeling like he met the most obnoxious, annoying, and vain person in both galaxies, next to the traitor who stole their thrones, while his wife thought it was like meeting an older Brutis.
"It seems Brutis found his equal in arrogance..." Maurus muttered to his wife, disgusted that this earthling would gamble his own planet in such a way.
"Indeed, it seems the earth saying of "birds of a feather flocked together" was made for them..." Milee said, equally disgusted.
Danny agreed, as he angrily glared at his nemesis.
He knew what Vlad was a psycho who was willing to do to get what wanted, but to see how he was willing to risk their whole planet like this was outrageous!
"I said it before and I will say it again...YOU ARE ONE SERIOUSLY CRAZED UP FRUITLOOP!..." Danny shouted, getting the sinister ghost man annoyed.
"I agree with Phantom, I may not be familiar with that term, but I can tell from the context that it is most likely an insult to humiliate one as unworthy as you. If so, then it fits you quite well..." Milee said, realizing it was an insult and striking Vlad's nerves.
"A fruitloop wouldn't have been able to form an alliance with a power-hungry, egotistical man-child, overthrow the ruling couple of another planet and replace it with a figure head I can easily control and manipulate that fool or a tyrant like I do with other people in my life! A fruitloop wouldn't be able to have made the nanobots operational and hold the life of his nemesis in the palm of his hand! A fruitloop wouldn't finally have you completely powerless and a button press away from taking your last breath! A fruitloop wouldn't have created such a brilliant plan to finally have an obedient ghost powered son and the woman your idiot father stole from me! A fruitloop wouldn't finally be able to take what is mine! I! AM! NOT! A! FRUITLOOP!..." Vlad shouted, getting sick and tired of being labeled as a fruitloop.
"Yes, clearly you aren't..." Maurus said sarcastically at the older half ghost man.
"I may not know why a loop of fruits is an insult, but I know when one is being mocked, which is a good thing..." Milee snarked, while Vlad glared at her.
"I can see where your daughter gets her "charming" attitude from..."Vlad said in annoyance.
He then calmed down before turning to Danny again.
"You know, it's not too late to join us. Just think about it, Dan-,..." Vlad began, but was soon cut off by his young nemesis.
"Now, let me stop you and your little "join me" speech right there..." Danny said, interrupting Vlad.
"We both know how this is going to end, Vlad! I'm going to find out how to get out of here, and then Mandie is going to find a way out of this stupid engagement before beating Brutis into a bruised banana! Then we're going to beat the unliving ectoplasm out of you, and finally, you'll either get your butt beaten or you're going to flee with your sad little tail between your legs! Because that's what you do best when things don't go your way, so stop with the your usual sad attempt of getting a family, because by the end of the day, you're just going to lose!..." The ghost boy shouted.
Vlad looked stunned as Danny finally stopped his surprisingly long rant as he panted heavily. Being in a cage while his girlfriend was getting engaged to a jerk really makes a guy almost snap.
The evil halfa glared at his young foe, who continued to refuse to join him.
"Fine! Be that way! Maybe you'll change your mind once you feel the same pain I felt!..." Vlad exclaimed, as he floated back away.
"There's a difference! My mom chooses to be with my dad, not forced!..." Danny called out.
Vlad ignored him as he disappeared through the darkness. As Vlad left, Maurus and Milee glared at the evil halfa, even after he left.
"As soon as we are free and that fool Brutis is taken care of, that scoundrel Plasmius is the next one to feel my wrath!..." Maurus snarled.
"Get in line, I'm the one with a score to settle with that guy ever since he tried to kill my Dad that one time!..." Danny said, hating this but still looking for a way out.
His thoughts then went to his girlfriend, being forced to prepare for a wedding with a creep like Brutis.
"Mandie..." Danny said, deeply worried about his girlfriend's well-being and safety.
Milee heard him and looked at him, seeing the confident look he had earlier replaced with genuine worry he had with her daughter. Despite the situation, Milee had a small smile, happy that her daughter found a strong man that loved her.
And that said man wasn't the scumbag that Brutis revealed himself to be.
"You've certainly found yourself quite the keeper, my little pup. At least my grandchildren will have an ideal father...much better than that traitor..." She thought, planning on giving the boy her blessing once this ordeal is over.
First thing first, they had to break free from here and save her daughter from the worst mistake of her life.
Meanwhile
Mandie was feeling horrible right now.
She was in the bridal chambers, very unhappy with a lot of thing in her situation. She saw the dress that Brutis chose for her and wanted nothing more than to burn it with her flame sword.
A white, strapless wedding dress with gold plating on the bottom, stomach, and shoulders, with shiny gems on where the gold plating wasn't on, so she couldn't see the white fabric, the veil was held by a gold crown with a cloth that has small gems embedded to it, and the boots and gloves were covered in gold with gems on it as well.
Even worse, reaching to her ankles, the slits in her dress were tied together with golden trace chains crisscrossing tightly against her legs up to the belt. Her torso was also with gold trimming and chainmail underneath of the same golden color, covering her shoulders all the way down to her forearms.
It was even more restrictive and uncomfortable than it looks.
"It's so gaudy. Just like Brutis..." Mandie said, hating this more and more as the droids continued to get her ready.
She wished this was her wedding to Danny, in a better dress than what she was wearing, somewhere nice on Earth. But she also knew that if she didn't go through with this, she would lose not only her beloved but also her parents and her family's legacy.
Mandie was handed the bouquet by one of the drones, but she honestly would have preferred to stomp on these flowers and throw them away in the trash, like she did with all of Brutis previous gifts over the years.
"I should have cut off his head when I had the chance!..." She thought, regretting those times she spared Brutis.
Her father's lectures would have been way more preferable than what she was going through right now, or even a day long meeting with the department of economics with her mother which would last for hours would be better.
Mandie really wishes that she would be suffering over that instead of this humiliating nightmare!
Heck, anything involving her parents was preferable than what she was going through right now!
Though now, she doubt her father would mind that fools destruction now, in fact he might even do it himself.
"This is so NOT how I pictured my wedding day!..."Mandie thought in dread, as she got closer and closer to a fate worse than death.
Being married to Brutis.
"Why didn't I stay in my old universe and be turned into a house cat by that jar head?!..." She thought, since that would be a less cruel fate than calling Brutis her husband.
The alien princess shed a tear as the droids continued to prepare her for the wedding that she never wanted to be a part of.
Elsewhere
With Brutis
"Hurry up! I need to be perfect for my wedding!..." Brutis barked impatiently.
"Yes, Lord Brutis..." One of his servant droids said.
"Its KING Brutus now! Do NOT forget that!..." Brutis said, as they continued to prepare him for the ceremony.
The evil would-be tyrant was smiling wickedly now.
Everything was going well as he'd planned droids, peasants and non-Boudacian citizens he had conscripted at blaster point into working fast about putting on the final touches for HIS perfect wedding.
"These fools would soon learn their one true place serving at the feet of me..." Brutis thought with a sneer.
He was confident that everything would soon be at hand.
He would FINALLY become king, just like he always wanted!
The Boudacian empire would praise his name for generations, and Mandie would be his queen.
"Mandie..." He thought, smiling as he thought about his new queen.
She's the most beautiful Boudacian in all of existence and it was her destiny to belong to him, the greatest Boudacian in all of history!
Together they would rule Boudacia and then the entire universe!
He would become the greatest king in the empires history, with her ad his obedient queen who will follow his every desire and be the mother of his heirs! Heirs that would idolize their father and spread his name throughout this universe! Heirs who, in Brutis's mind, would no doubt reach towards the same heights of glory as he did!
He can already picture his pups fighting each other to get the right to inherit his throne, and then he'll train the strongest to ensure his clan's lineage and reign would continue.
He was going to be such a good father!
"Finally, everything will be as it should be...and I will get my revenge on that freak for getting in our way..." He thought, a sadistic smirk forming on his face.
The earth of that mutant freak Fenton would be destroyed at their reception, the earth would be destroyed and an remaining humans would be enslaved. Then his army would go to their old universe and enslave the populace and Brutis's reign for continue and he would destroy anyone who dare to oppose him.
Starting with Turner, the mere pup who Mandie claimed was a better warrior than him.
Brutis already had several expensive and excruciatingly painful tortures set up in the dungeon just for the big toothed brat, but that would be AFTER he did the same to Phantom once the wedding is over.
As for his former king, he might look good stuffed in his private room or as a practice dummy.
"Your highness..."Another droid said, hovering over to Brutis and pulling him out of his thoughts.
"What is it?..."Brutis asked impatiently.
"The decorations have been set up as per your directions. The armada is ready to take off at your command, the princess is dressed in her bridal gown and the royal feast has been prepared with the finest ingredients..." The droid listed.
This pleased the evil would-be tyrant very much.
"Excellent, bring in the guests, the prisoners and the grand priest. I've waited long enough for this day and I won't wait a moment longer!..." He said, sounding like a spoiled child.
"Yes, your majesty..." The droid said flying off
One by one these, prisoners were brought in officers and soldiers, loyal to his soon to be mother in law and her mutt of a husband, bound and restrained once he was married to Mandie. They would bow to him or they'd be replaced by those who were loyal to Brutis.
He noticed the glares he was getting but paid no mind to them.
"Fools, I'm the one in large now, not that hairball and that difficult woman he calls his wife..." Brutis thought dismissively, as he thought about the bargaining chips he had to ensure his victory.
Such as his future in laws, along with the mutant freak who dared to dishonor him.
He couldn't wait to obliterate the freak, than dissect his remains to find a way to enhance his loyal soldiers to conquer this, Turner's and any other universe he saw fit to rule over.
That or destroy them all make room for vacancy on those planets. The future Boudacia King would decide they fates in due time.
All that Brutis saw, he would conquer. But before that, he has a wedding to attend to, and an older freak to stab in the back.
"My future is secured..." He said to himself in overconfidence.
Back with Danny
Milee, Danny and Maurus were still imprisoned.
Maurus tried to bash the bars against the cage, but got zapped and had his fur singed again.
"WHY HAVEN'T THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM ON THESE BARS SHORT CIRCUITED YET?..." Maurus yelled, furious his order seemed ignored.
"Because we updated our central city's backup generators to run from the dwarf star engines we procured during one of lasts wars in our original universe..." Milee explained.
"We did that to fix all those electrical blackouts randomly happening across our planet, remember?..." She reminded.
"As much as I really want to dive deep into how all that work, we need a whole new plan on breaking out of this dungeon, rescue Mandie and stopping this space war on my planet from happening!..." Danny said, desperate.
"Don't forget about correcting the chain of command and demolishing this misguided revolution..." Milee said.
"Any ideas would be great right now, since I have some doubts that a rescue team will show up any second now..." Danny muttered.
"I hate to say this, but you are right. I must stop this farce of a wedding and feed Brutis alive to a molten solbaboa!..." Maurus yelled, frustrated that he couldn't simply bulldoze his way through the bars.
Danny didn't know what that was but he was guessing it'd be painful for Brutis.
"So, how do we get out?..." Danny asked.
"King Maurus! Queen Milee!..." Was heard.
The three looked around and soon saw more cages appear...and soon realized they weren't the only ones here now. The royal couple and ghost boy soon saw within cages, revealing more imprisoned boudacians soldiers. Many servants still loyal to the royal family were also caged up, some shaking on the bars in a futile attempt to escape.
They also saw an older looking Boudacian man with pale grayish hair, a familiar thin scar cross diagonal his face, and a distinguished looking uniform that was now roughed up.
There were other similar Boudacians in identical uniforms, but were no better off in their own cages.
Milee gasped.
"Captain Trechero?!..." She exclaimed.
"Who?..." Danny asked.
"He is the captain of the royal guards. Loyal to the crown and very dear friend and ally of ours..." Maurus explained.
"We're also here, your highness..." Was also heard.
They saw a younger looking Boudacian with yellow hair, greeniesh yellow skin a scar on his chin and a uniform too.
He also saw a few other high ranking boudacian military officers that the King and Queen immediately recognized.
"Lieutenant Mutinus. Commander Betreyon? Private Stomp?..." Maurus said, recognizing them and saw a few others as well.
"Wait, that's their names?..." Danny asked, noticing a pattern.
"Just because they have old fashioned, archaic Boudacian names does not age towards modern times...or so says my daughter, does not mean you can be rude. Now be quiet!..." Maurus snapped, misunderstanding what Danny meant.
"Why are you all here?..." Milee asked, still grateful to see some friendly faces.
"Forgive us...your highness...that scoundrel Brutis...he tried to bribe us into betraying you both and to do his bidding after he usurped the throne. When we refused and tried to inform of his crimes...his minions ambushed us and knocked us unconscious..."Betreyon said, frowning.
"When we awoke we were in this cage...he locked us away with all of our families...even threatening to great harm to them if we didn't stay put. What a shame, I apologize for our weakness during this time of peril..."Mutinus said, looking ashamed with himself.
"We all are, your majesty. We've disgraced the honor of Empire's greatest army by losing the war before any battle even began..."Trechero said, looking ashamed too.
Normally, Maurus did not like failure or weakness. However, right now, he could see that they were still loyal to them and risk their respective lives by remaining true to the true rulers of Boudacia.
"It is not your fault. At the very least, you all tried to prove your loyalty and we need that now more than ever. Especially since we will put an end to Brutis and his treachery . Once I am free, that traitor will only WISH that we only locked him in this cage..."Maurus said, promising vengeance.
"Thank you, my king..." Trechero said.
"We can decide on a proper punishment for that traitor, once everything has been settled. First, let's be rid of these shackles..."Milee said, gesturing to what they had around their wrists.
Danny tried to break the cuffs with the bars, but stopped when he saw that it didn't make a dent. So, now he was thinking of a plan to escape. He looked at his cuffs, seeing that it was the same ones from before, with the same weakness. He looked at Maurus, but he was too far away.
He then turned to Milee, who seemed reachable from where he was.
"Um…Your Highness?..." He called out, getting Milee's attention.
"I told you, Danny, call me Milee..." Milee said with a smile, despite the situation they were in. "Or perhaps mother someday…"She added teasingly, making hum blush a bit.
"Um…Right, Milee…" Danny said, feeling a bit weird for calling his girlfriend's mom by her first name.
"Do you have something that can unlock these cuffs?..."He asked.
"Well…" Milee looked at the cuffs before reaching into hair, pulling out a hairpin. "Perhaps this could work? But how will you get it?..."She asked.
"Leave that to me…" Danny said, before he started pushing the cage.
Everyone watched as Danny pushed the cage back and forth, causing it to swing. Soon, he got enough momentum to swing his cage towards Milee, and once he was closed enough, he grabbed onto the bars of her cage. He grunted as he kept holding on.
Milee quickly worked on the handcuffs, inserting the pin into the small hole. There was a small shock, but it didn't seem to affect Milee.
"There!..."She cheered as the handcuffs fell off Danny's wrists and into the black void below.
"Yes!..." Danny cheered as he phased through the cage, letting it swing back to where it was.
He then tore the cage's door off Milee's cage and quickly phased off the rest of the shackles.
"Thanks…"Danny said gratefully.
"It was no trouble…" Milee said with a small smile, as she placed the hairpin back in her hair.
"It's you who managed to escape. No one in Boudacian history has done it before…"She said, sounding truly impressed.
"Outside assistance doesn't count for a solo escape plan..." Maurus said, a bit conflicted since he help design these dungeons to be as inescapable as possible.
"Wait, how come you didn't get electrocuted?..." Danny asked, remembering that when Maurus did it, he got shocked.
"Element proof fabric, my dear boy…" Milee said, showing off he gloves on her arms.
She then turned to her husband.
"I told my husband to wear them many times before…"She said with an eyeroll.
"I told you, they chaff!..." Maurus complained.
"And now look at how that turned out..." Milee said.
"Rrrttt... kpp nagging..." He muttered.
"What was that, my love?..." Milee asks with a threatening tone.
"I said... you're right, can't complain now..." He lied with a terrified smile.
Danny ignored this as he went to free Maurus and the other prisoners from their shackles and cages.
"Wow, he STILL didn't ghost proof the other cages or shackles. He really doesn't learn from his mistakes. Oh well, works for me..." Danny thought, as he freed another Boudacian.
"Thank you, white haired alien boy..." Trechero said, in a cordial tone.
"No prob..." Danny said, as he continued until everyone was freed.
"Now, would you loyal soldiers be so kind as to help us out?..." Milee said in both a kind yet commanding tone from royalty.
"YES, YOUR HIGHNESSES!..." All the high ranking soldiers said at once, ready to fight for their leaders and their planet.
"If Bruty plans to invade my planet, I should go back to make sure we're prepared but we also gotta saves Mandie too..." Danny said.
He then heard Maurus clear his throat very loudly.
"What?..." Danny asked.
"Aid us if you love our daughter!..." Maurus said, making it sound like an order.
Danny froze up.
"Uh, I do plan on saving her...but I... never said that..." He said.
"Oh? Do you not love my daughter?..." Milee asked, some edge in her tone making it clear that something painful may happen depending on his answer.
"Uh... I don't... I don't really know..." Danny said, getting angry looks from them.
"You don't?!..." Maurus questioned with snarl.
He might not have given his approval, but he also felt angry on his daughters behalf.
"Look, I like Mandie. I REALLY like her, she is the most awesome girl I ever met...but when I met your daughter, she kidnapped me and threatened me into marrying her and said she wanted to use my kids to take over the universe..." Danny pointed out.
"I suppose the lack of consent on your end when you met is a valid reason..." Milee said, calming down a bit.
"Still, I believe you are an ideal mate for her..." She said kindly.
Danny remained silent, unsure how to respond to that.
"Don't encourage him!..." Maurus grumbled.
"I will do as I please..." Milee insisted. "Unless you have something else in mind?..." She said, hands on her hips.
"Uh...Milee...Maurus?..." Danny asked, while the freed soldiers and prisoners were awaiting their orders.
"KING Maurus! I did not give you permission to be so casual to me!..." Maurus snarled.
"Fine, King Maurus. We kinda have someplace to be right now...as in whenever Brutis is and knock all his teeth out!..." Danny shouted.
"Right...we ARE free. Now to stop that accursed wedding and destroy that traitor!..." Maurus said, enraged.
"Darling, in case you forgot. We still have to deacticate the security in this wing. And even if we do get passed all that, we still have those nano-bots within us..." His wife reminded him.
Maurus groaned as he knew she was right.
"Don't worry, Mandie, you won't marry that scum, even if it's the last thing I'll do..." Maurus thought, hoping to rescue her and punish that scoundrel.
"Turn off the security around here so Brutis and his minions can't detect us..." Maurus ordered.
"Yes, your highness!..." Trechero and his soldiers said as they went to carry out their order.
"While they do that...Danny! Plasmius is your enemy. So, any idea how we can turn off these tiny machines?..." Milee asked.
"I wish I knew. All I know is how to BREAK that Fruit loops junk, not how it works..." Danny said, hating this.
"If only Tucker was here. He would figure out a solution..." Danny said, wishing his tech savvy pal was here.
"You have an ally who operates technology?..." Maurus asked.
"Yeah. If he was here, he could at least find a way to reverse what Vlad device did, but we would need Brutis's control thing first..." Danny said.
"That's helpful..." Maurus said sarcastically.
"Dear, not now!..." Milee nagged.
"Your highness, we can't override the security system. Brutis must have updated and install new firewalls. We can't break in..." Mutinus said.
"And since we lack weapons, we can't even do much physical damage either!..." Stomp said, angry.
Danny groaned.
"I can't believe he actually thought ahead for once..." He grumbled.
"I suppose even a broken yugopotamian clock can be right twice a day..." Maurus grumbled.
Before they could ask him more, a portal appeared before them.
"What is th-?..."
"Move!..." Danny exclaimed as he spotted a familiar vehicle coming through the portal.
They quickly jumped out of the way when a vehicle came crashing through, slamming onto the wall. Everyone coughed as dust covered them.
"Is this an attack?!..." Milee asked.
Stumbling out of the Specter Speeder, Sam looked around and saw herself in what looked like an armory with a lot of weapons, both bladed and firearms, and spotted a lot of dazed aliens, armed to the teeth.
"I KNEW THEY WERE GOING TO INVADE!..." Sam exclaimed before she spotted a familiar looking silhouette through the smoke.
Growling, she aimed her blaster at the silhouette and fired.
"THERE YOU ARE, YOU WITCH! YOU'LL PAY!..." Sam shouted, seeing purple hair and a shapely silhouette, jumped to conclusions.
"Who is this?..." Milee asked, still barely able to see.
Danny, having seen through the smoke, was surprised to see Sam stumbling out, and was even more surprised by her aiming a weapon at Milee.
"Sam! Wait!…" He exclaimed as Sam fired her weapon.
Panicked, Danny flew towards Milee as fast as he can. He managed to push her away, but his shoulder got hit.
"AGH!..."He yelped.
"DANNY!?..."Sam exclaimed, surprised to see him.
Once the smoke cleared, she noticed that the person she tried to shoot wasn't Mandie.
"What's going on!?..." She exclaimed, only to hear growling noises.
"HOW DARE YOU TRY TO FIRE AT MY WIFE?!..." Maurus shouted, as he defended her with his entire body as a shield.
"Huh?!..."The goth exclaimed, only for more aliens to approach her hostily.
"YOU DARE TO FIRE AT QUEEN MILEE?!..."True he row shouted, as he and his fellow soldiers got into fighting positions!
"Queen... who?..." Sam questioned, as they all looked ready to attack them.
"I didn't shoot!..."Tucker yelled out of panic, while Jazz recovered from the bumpy ride and realized what was happening.
"DANNY!?..."Jazz exclaimed as she ran out the Specter Speeder and towards her injured brother.
"Are you okay!?..."She asked, worried.
"I'm fine…" He assured her, rubbing his shoulder, wincing as he touched it.
He then turned to Milee.
"Are you okay, Milee?..."He asked.
"Yes, I am unharmed. Thanks to you…" Milee said with gratitude.
Sam looked shaken, having accidentally hurt Danny due to her rage. She saw a chance to hurt Mandie and took it, mistakenly attacking someone else and Danny was the one that got hurt.
"Wait, why did you even jumped in front of her?..." Jazz asked, confused. "You know our parents' weapons can't hurt living creatures…"She pointed out.
"Well, my mind's a little bit preoccupied due to the fact we've been kept prisoner by a jealous nutcase who's trying to marry my girlfriend through force!…" Danny sarcastically shot back.
"WAIT...WHAT?!..."Sam exclaimed.
She then turned to who she thought was Mandie and the hairy monsters who just tried to kill her, along with a bunch of other soldiers who looked ready to attack her.
"Who are they? What's going on here and again, who are these two?!..." Sam exclaimed, repeating her first.
"In order...these are Mandie's parents, Maurus and Milee...and the rest are soldiers who are trying to help us..." Danny said.
"KING Maurus and QUEEN Milee!..." Maurus corrected, while the others stared at him.
"I am STILL king of this planet and the one currently on the thrown is nothing more than an idiot with delusional ideals..." He said, being stubborn.
"HER PARENTS?!..."Sam exclaimed.
"We're in the middle of a breakout after failing to deal with a coup that threatens to destroy everything we know, Earth definitely included! And now we need to refocus and stop Brutis before it happens!..."Danny emphasized.
"Brutis…I feel we should know that guy…"Tucker said.
"Brutis is that creep I told you about. He ambushed and abducted me, teamed up with Vlad, put a bunch of nano bits inside me and Mandie's folks that will tears apart unless Mandie agrees to marry him and if that wasnt enough, he is also is gonna launch the invasion on earth as a honeymoon for them. Now my girlfriend is about to be a bride for a maniac and we don't have a lot of time to stop before the wedding starts and the earth gets invaded!..." Danny said, knowing just how crazy it all sound out loud.
"Ouch..." That was all anyone could say before returning to battle mode.
"And he's the marrying your girl too?..." Tucker asked.
"Not if I have anything to say about it..." Danny growled, looking ready to kick Brutis butt again.
"I told you that Mandie was innocent..." Jazz said, turning to Sam who was ashamed.
The goth in question hissed through her teeth as she slowly turned to the queen. The barrel of her weapon aimed up.
She then recalled the presence of Mandie's parents, who looked displeased with her.
"Uh, sorry for firing at you. I thought you were Mandie..." Sam apologized, while Milee just glared at her.
If anything, she seemed even ANGRIER after hearing that.
"You just admitted that you attempted to attack my DAUGHTER!..."Milee said, her tone icy cold.
Sam flinched, realizing now who bad that sounded.
"Seriously, WHY would you say that to her parents like it's completely okay if you were to shoot their daughter?!..."Jazz criticized.
Sam glared at her, but soon saw the glares from the royal couple. She sighed, knowing hat she had to do something she didn't enjoy doing.
Apologizing to someone who was related to someone she hater, but she knew that she had no choice.
"I'm sorry but I thought that SHE was the one who kidnapped Danny and wanted to invade earth. All to force him into a…shotgun wedding?..."Sam explained, growing meek at the end.
Everyone slapped their faces.
"We so don't have time for this..." Danny said, making a mental note to come to this topic later.
"Honestly, I was 50/50 about Mandie being behind it..." Tucker said, while Danny frowned at him.
"No offense dude, but she did kidnap you twice after all..." He pointed out, while his best friend sighed.
"Fair..." Danny said to his best friend before looking to his other friend.
The one who he hadn't talked to since she confessed her feelings to him. He shook his head.
"Not the time for that, we gotta save Mandie and the Earth..." The ghost boy thought, deciding to deal with his issues with Sam later.
He then turned to the others.
"Look, lets skip to the part where we all agree to kick butt now, and talk later…to each other…"He said.
The group muttered in agreement as they all knew what is at stake here.
"I don't suppose these friends of yours can help us get free, maybe my disabling the security system?..." Milee asked.
Danny was about to answer when Maurus barked out a laugh.
"My queen, don't be ridiculous. A primitive human couldn't possibly begin to find a way to comprehend even the basics of a Boudacian calculator, let alone the dungeons security system.." Maurus said, still sounding dismissive.
Danny frowned, ignored him and turned to his best friend.
"Tucker, is there any chance you can hack or disable the security system?..." Danny asked.
"Let me see what I can do..." The Tech Wizz pulled out his PDA and plugged into the nearest computer that allow him to do so.
"Did you not hear us earlier saying that Brutis had updated the security system and even added new digital firewalls? Getting passed those would be impossible." One of the veteran soldiers said.
"Leave the human to his pointless attempt. Our boudacian technology are far too advanced for his Primitive looking device to do anything remotely significant-..."The hairy king was soon proven wrong when the cell door opened.
"I'm in..."Tucker announced, cutting off the King Maurus midsentence.
"Huh?!..." All the elite boudacian veterans spoke in stupefied all.
"Hmmm, Danny was not lying when he said you were good at this sort of thing..." Milee said, slightly impressed.
Her husband, on the other hand, was flabbergasted.
"What?! But...but how?!..." Maurus shouted in disbelief.
"How did you manage to hack into our security system?! Much less disable it?!..."Maurus roared in disbelief.
"What? Its just a three layered firewall operating on a alternating relay algorithm..."Tucker said, as if that explained everything.
He tried to clarify when people looked confused.
"You all said that this Brutis guy updated the security system and firewalls. But from what I've seen from all this coding, all he really did was replace the security system coding from the lower section with the upper section's coding. Which runs on an admittedly newer faster programming, but isn't all that compatible with the slightly out of date tech that's built into this dungeon's development..."Tucker explained.
"I'm more surprised that this place is still functioning with such sloppy handling on technical support..." The tech whizz added, while even the aliens seemed confused now.
Maurus turned to Danny and the humans, who just shrugged.
"Tucker is a techno-geek, which means he is super into tech..."Danny explained.
"It doesn't mean we always UNDERSTAND half of what he is talking about though..." Sam muttered.
Milee and Maurus briefly shared a look.
"When this is over, remind me to speak to the dean of the royal science academy about this young man's abilities..." Milee said, still impressed by tuckers technical capabilities.
"Yes, my precious..." Maurus answered automatically.
"Come on, we got a maniac to stop and a princess to save..." Danny said, as he lead everyone out.
Outside
Everyone made their way out of the prison and into the palace halls. They were empty of guards, no doubt stationed at the temple for intruders.
However, they also saw that the royal crest and flags colors were already replaced, as well as a new crest decorating the walls.
"Oh, the nerve of that fool! He hasn't even married our daughter yet and he already had the audacity to replace my family's crest with his own!..." Milee said, looking enraged.
"Don't worry, my precious. He will pay for all his crimes with his blood!..." Maurus said, furious.
"Where do you think Brutis has Mandie?..." Danny asked, wanting to rescue his girlfriend.
"No doubt they must be at the Grand Bodacian Temple, which is where members of the royal families hold weddings..." Milee said.
"Its located near our palace here in the capital, which also happens to be our planets most populated city. Every citizen must already be there..." Maurus added.
"Then that's where we are going..." Danny said, morphs into his ghostly superhero alter ego.
While tensions were still high, the group managed to swiftly traverse the hallways without opposition from the new, soon-to-be-temporary royal guards.
Still, some anger lingered, particularly from Milee, who eyed Sam from the corner of her eye every now and then. The latter gulped, worried she may have bitten off more than she could chew.
"I probably don't have to worry about Danny cutting me out of his life anymore... she's probably going to end mine..." She thought.
"Brutis is going to wish he was never born when I get my hands in him!..." Danny said, with glowing, ectosurged fists.
The ghost boy tried to focus on summoning some of his energy in the palms of his hands to check and find out how much he has to work with. Thankfully he was glad to see that it was more than just enough for his makeshift wedding crushing plan.
He wasn't at full power, since those nanites Vlad made did a number on him but he had enough for what he had planned.
Before they could continue, they were all interrupted by the sounds of loud music happening nearby.
"What's that?..."Danny asked, not liking the sound of that.
"That's the Boudacian Celebratory Horns...they are used only on holidays...or weddings..."Milee said, with a worried and concerned expression.
Everyone else gasped at this, as they knew what that meant
"WE GOTTA STOP THAT WEDDING!..."Danny shouted, looking ready to break some arrogant faces.
Milee saw this and smiled.
"Aw, he might not to be willing to say the words but he is so willing to go to war against a tyrant for the girl he adores. Just like my Maurus at that age. ..." Milee thought, finding Danny's loyalty and dedication towards Mandie to be very admirable.
They also heard another kind of music, a low and slow sounding music that was a bit difficult not to notice..
"Uh oh..." Maurus said.
"Why did you say uh oh?..." Tucker asked nervously.
"Those are the sounds of Boudacian Drums slowly beating for the upcoming war, we always play them on the Eve before we make a big invasion...the louder they beat means the time for the invasion will officially began..." Maurus explained, sounding a bit ominous.
"Not on my watch!..." Danny said, ready to fight.
He started flying, towards the temple.
"Hang on Mandie I'm on my way..." He said, flying off
It took the rest a moment before the others all started running in the direction of that music.
Mandie wasn't the only one they had to save.
Elsewhere
It all took place at the capital, within the grand Boudacian Temple.
Hundreds of Boudacians, all nobles and elites were here for an important event. Their princess and one of their planet's most prominent noblemen were to be wed.
The ceremony was about to begin. However, the bride was not looking forward to it.
Not at all!
Brutis, wearing ceremonial armor, stood at the alter and had a smug look on his face.
He adjusted his attire, making sure his tunic flexed with his muscles as a shoulder cape covered part of his torso with his family emblem, the soon-to-be-new digit of the king. From below the belt, his tunic extended to almost his knees with thick boots. Armor was placed on his abs, uncovered shoulder, head, knees, and footwear, showing off as he stood as he awaited for his bride.
As he waited, he actually shed a single tear at witnessing his long-awaited dream coming.
"I have been awaiting this moment my whole life..." He told Vlad, who was sitting among the guests.
"Really? I couldn't tell..." Vlad said sarcastically, understanding why Mandie didn't like him.
Once everyone was seated the traditional wedding music began to play as Mandie entered flanked by royal guards she was dressed in the wedding dress that he'd bought for her.
Looking as radiant as he expected. Even Vlad's head was turn out of pure shock and surprise, despite still finding her quite barbaric for a young woman.
"She looks even more lovely in it than I thought..." Brutis said under his breath. "Then again, of course she would, I had chosen the dress..." He added with a smug tone.
His bride to be walked down the aisle with a bitter look on her face.
Yep, it is definitely a wedding...one that she wants no part of!
In the contrast of Brutis' attire, Mandie could barely keep her balance as her dress constricted her.
Mandie growled lowly at the metal pressing against her skin. The dress felt like a coffin or mobile prison. No, the attire made her feel like a trophy.
"I know Danny forbids me from taking a life... but I'm hoping he lets this one be the exception..." She whispered under her breath, as the ceremony began.
Mandie couldn't stand this.
She was now here, dressed in this gaudy and ridiculous wedding dress that was just as uncomfortable and tacky as he would be groom.
She was feeling mortified as she now stood at an altar, in front of the grand priest of Boudacia and many of her subjects. She also knew that this event would be broadcast to the rest of the planet, which only added more to her humiliation.
She saw the many guests all attending here to witness the wedding event, but not voluntary. They were all ordered to be here by the "future king", or face capital punishment of the future king's choosing.
"Think Mandie, Think. There has to be some move to make to get out of this. Just think of something quick!..." Mandie though, as she heard the Boudacian wedding march begin.
She saw several females, fellow noblewomen and people she recognized as some of Brutis old playthings, all wearing traditional Boudacian bridesmaid dresses appear before her.
They all did the traditional dance, moving around in circles as they walked down the aisle, tossing flowers all over the place. The unwanted ceremony continued as many Boudacian native butterflies flew in and also danced in a circle before landing as the ceiling open up a bit, and could see two moons visible in the dark blue Boudacian sky.
Any other time, this would be seen as a beautiful ceremony, but right now it was the stuff of nightmares for the unlucky bride.
"I'm gonna throw up! Literally! I wonder if it's possible for someone to puke inside their own mind?! Because that's what I'm feeling right now!..." She thought, feeling sick as the music name more twisted in her mind as she knew she couldn't procrastinate anymore.
She knew what she had to do now!
Reluctantly, the alien princess began to walk down the aisle, carrying the flowers she was given and began to walk down the aisle, without her father.
"Not how I imagined this day..." She thought, each step being more difficult than the last.
Eventually, she made it to the end of the aisle. Brutis sent her a smile that looked so wrong right now, and leaned into her ear.
"You look so beautiful, my lovely bride.." Brutis said, sounding as smug as ever.
"You look so punchable..." Mandie responded, sounding as angry as possible.
"Insult all you want, because, finally, you'll be mine..." Brutis said, feeling he has won.
Mandie didn't say anything
Mandie wanted nothing more than to wipe that grin on his face and call him every name in the book, but she somehow held her tongue as the Boudacian grand priest now began to speak.
The grand priest took his place between them as he chanted something in the ancestral language before he officially began.
"We are gathered here, under the light of the two moons, to forcibly bond the Boudacian crown princess Mandie..."The grand priest started and gulped upon seeing the groom glaring at him.
"And General Brutis of the house of Forcivul, our new king, in a joyous, life long wedlock.."The priest said but he sounded reluctantly as Brutis motioned him to continue.
"I need to think of something!..."Mandie mentally cursed as the priest began to recite the ceremonial speech in their planet's ancestral language.
She can't flee, no matter how much she wants to right now.
"Now, before we can continue with the ceremony, does anyone, besides the bride, have a reason why these two should not be married?..."The grand priest asked out loud.
Mandie was hoping someone...anyone would speak up but no one did yet, most likely due to being bribed or threatened by the groom.
Mandie sighed, until a strange sense of irony was felt from within her.
"This is karma for the Mark thing...isn't it?..."She thought, wishing she was anywhere but here right now.
It seems her fate is truly sealed.
However... she had one trick up her sleeve, one she planned to use before she said " I do".
