Jedi Master Dooku stood in the middle of the Jedi council chambers, he was surrounded by the entire Jedi council, which was rare. "Dooku, why would you go to Essun without the Jedi councils approval first?" Mace Windu questioned Dooku.
"I already did," said an agitated Dooku, trying to convince the council that his actions were purely for the good of his friend. "I know what I did was wrong. But if I continued to sit in the Jedi Temple, doing nothing, then a young force sensitive would be dead."
Some of the council members looked at each other dubiously. Some looked like they supported Dooku while others looked unconvinced.
"What's done is done, it is," said Master Yoda. He was more curious about the strange child Dooku found. "More curious, I am, about the Force sensitive child."
"Me as well," said Mace Windu. He was rubbing his chin, deep in thought, remembering how he sensed the child's power. "This child is indeed powerful in the force," he said. "But there is something else, something powerful that is... not the force."
This was unexpected indeed.
Yoda looked at Dooku and could see that he was holding something back. He looked conflicted, confused. Dooku was never like this when he was his apprentice. Dooku was open and willing to learn. Now he seems... mistrusting.
Sensing that there is more to this situation, Yoda asked, "Master Dooku. More to say you do?"
Dooku hesitated about revealing that this child was Noah Shan's son. But if he wanted to find Noah, he had to at least tell the council.
"You're correct Master," he said nervously. "There is more."
The council looked towards Master Dooku, curious as to what he was about to reveal.
"When I was testing his blood for infections on my ship, I discovered that this child's father is former Jedi master... Noah Shan."
The council reacted swift shock, everyone gasping or talking over one another.
Master Windu held up his hand to silence everyone. "Impossible," he said in dernial. "Master Shan would never turn his back against the Jedi code!"
Seeing that his fellow Jedi were not going to listen, Dooku spoke up, wanting to reveal the truth, that Noah left the order to be with a woman named Naomi Grace. Dooku hesitated before responding. "Believe what you want, but this child is Noah Shan's son, Master Windu. He shares the same DNA. I have the proof. And to also add, he left the order a year ago."
Windu glared at Dooku, his dark eyes flashing.
"This child," Windu said. "Who apparently is the son of Noah Shan, was found on the planet that was radiating the Force, correct?"
Dooku nodded.
Windu stared silently for a second. "If this is true, then this is no coincidence."
Dooku debated whether or not to tell the entire truth to the council. If he did, what would the council do towards Dylan?
Dooku sighed, if he told them the truth there may be a chance that the council may help him find Noah, or they would completely abandon him, just because he broke the code.
Dooku spoke hesitantly.
"There is something else Masters. It turns out, while Noah Shan, was still apart of the Order he...," Dooku took a steadying breath. "He broke the Jedi code and was in a relationship with a Woman outside of the order, named Naomi."
The shocking truth rang through the councils mind. Yoda looked to be in deep thought. Why would a dedicated Jedi decide to go against what he was taught while growing up in the order? Attraction is absolutely forbidden in the order for a reason.
"You speak the truth, Dooku," said Mace Windu. "Did you know about Shan breaking the code?"
This was it. Dooku lowered his gaze and nodded.
"Yes," he said. "Noah told me about this while he was still a Jedi."
"Master Dooku... why would you keep this from the council?" master Mundi demanded. "This should have been brought towards the council immediately!" Master Mundi looked bewildered. "Why would a Jedi Master, such as yourself, keep such treachery from the council?"
Dooku was desperate for them to understand. the situation was complicated and he was torn between loyalty to the council and loyalty to his former apprentice. They must understand that.
"I know what he did was against the Jedi code, but I could not bring myself to betray him by telling the council about his situation. When I discovered there was a disturbance in the Force, radiating from Essun, I knew I had to go. When I arrived at Noah's homestead he was nowhere to be found. Both Noah and his wife Naomi were gone. The only one I found was Dylan. From experience," he continued. "I know that Noah Shan was a very loyal person. For him and his wife to abandon Dylan, their son, would be ridiculous."
He was hoping his words would convince the Council to look for Noah, though he felt doubt.
"Hmmm... find something else, did you, Master Dooku?" Yoda was curious as to what happened to Noah Shan, despite how he broke the Jedi code. He knew he was a very loyal and kind person.
Dooku got out his bag and took out the strange helmet that he found from the creature that was in the forest on Essun. Dooku held the helmet in his hands and showed it to the council. "This helmet," Dooku said. "Was found it in the forest near Noah's homestead on Essun. But when I took this helmet off the creature it was not of any species I have ever seen before."
"What did it look like?" Mace Windu asked.
"It looked like... some sort of demon creature. I did some research in the archives before coming to this meeting, and I can clearly state that this creature was not of any species known to the galaxy."
The council was quite confused and disturbed. A demon type creature, that was not known, even in the Jedi temple archives, was shocking.
"Master Yoda, have you ever seen a creature that Master Dooku describes?" Master Windu asked.
Yoda looked to be in deep thought. In his 900 years of life, Yoda had no recollection of this creature, and it worried him. How had they evaded detection?
"Nothing, seen I have, in my life long life."
Dooku felt slightly disappointed, but that quickly left when he remembered the burn marks, the lightning scorch and the strange, dark but powerful, sensation on Essun.
"While I was on Essun," Dooku continued. "I felt a dark sensation. There were burn marks and lightning scorch marks on the ground, as if there was a fight that taken place outside of their home."
"Hmmmm... this keeps getting more and more mysterious," Master Windu said. "For now, you shall wait outside and we will call you in later to decide on what to do Master Dooku."
Dooku nodded and left the council chambers to their business.
Deep down Dooku hoped the council would at least see some reason and go search for Noah. he needed to find out what truly happened on Essun.
(25 minutes later)
Dooku walked back in the council chambers as the decision was to be revealed. Dooku stopped and stood in the middle of the council chamber as he waited for the verdict.
"Jedi Master Dooku," said Master Windu. "For keeping important information that a Jedi had broken the Jedi code away from the council, you shall stay in the Jedi temple for the rest of the year. No missions."
Dooku looked shocked. They were worried more about the fact that Noah had broken the Jedi code more then he is missing?!
"What!?" Dooku cried. "What about Noah?! I have to locate my missing former Padawan!"
"That situation shall be left unresolved for now," Master Mundi said calmly. "Noah Shan left the order and can deal with this himself."
Dooku's mind was reeling. How can they not share his concern?
"This is the councils final decision Master Dooku," sternly warned Master Windu. "You may go now. And do NOT leave the temple."
Dooku felt like yelling and took a deep breath before speaking. "Yes masters," he said between clenched teeth. He wanted to scream and try to get the council to see reason. But knowing Noah, he wouldn't want him to get into further trouble on his account.
As Dooku walked out of the council chambers, Yoda watched his former apprentice with a worried look.
Dooku furiously stormed towards the elevator, his eyes flashing yellow before going back to their natural brown color.
