I do not own The Hunger Games.

Will all my updates come this quickly?

...

As anyone who has been following Glitch in the System can tell you, no. No they will not. But I wanted to get a proper prologue for this up and out here, to give more of a taste. So here's Alexios, who we'll be seeing more of later in the story.

District Two

Alexios Macedom, 18

Their mother banged on the door. Aelianna frowned, finishing the end of her braid. "What now?"

"Call from the barracks. They want you there. Now."

Alexios rolled his shoulders. "Now now?"

They weren't due at the barracks for another three months.

"Now! Get going!"

Alexios waited until her footsteps stomped back down the stairs before turning to his sister. "Race you there?"

"You ready to lose?"

"In your dreams." He was first to the window, yanking it open and dropping onto the roof of the room below. Aelianna was close behind him, more agile than him, but he had longer legs.

They ran, leaping the alley and onto the next roof. This was freedom, the freedom he'd soon lose in the name of being away from his family.

They continued across the rooftops until they reached the lower building of the cobbler's, landing on the slate with twin thuds. The cobbler hollered out at them. "One of these days you'll go through my roof, and who'll pay for it, huh?"

"You will, Mr. Forger!" Aelianna shouted back.

Alexios laughed and took advantage of her distraction to take the lead again, along the roofs of the shops until they dropped the ground at the end. A run they'd made a thousand times.

From there, they continued on to the north of the city, where the great gleaming Peacekeeper barracks stood. Aelianna's goal for much of their life. Alexios had a more ambitious goal, that of entering the Hunger Games and supporting them as a Victor.

They stopped at the great shining door of the barracks and pressed the buzzer. A woman appeared on the screen above it.

"Alexios and Aeliana Macedon. We were requested," said Alexios.

"Come in," replied the woman.

The door swung open.

They'd been in the barracks a few times on training centre trips. The door led into a large stone hall, with corridors shooting off away from it.

The woman, who wore Commander's colours, met them there and led them through to her office. She introduced herself as Octavia Stellan, the commanding officer of the barracks.

"Anything we discuss today stays within these walls. Do you understand?"

"Yes ma'am. What is it you need us for?"

"We've received a rather unusual request. Having reviewed all the records of those eligible, we believe you two are the best choice."

Alexios frowned. "For what?"

If you're interested in submitting, all the details are on my profile. All Districts except Ten are still open for submissions, so there's still plenty of space! I could also use a few non-focus tributes (hint hint), to act as supporting cast.
