I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the OC known as Danielle Hopkins. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.
Chapter Two
After having gone through the Portal Door straight to the Demon Realm, Luz and Danielle tumble into Eda's tent after both tried to enter at the same time. Standing up and looking around, Luz and Danielle wonder where they are.
"Gosh, it felt like wading through molasses going through the door. Where are we?" asked Danielle, before looking at Luz.
"Don't know but I got through that door just fine," replied Luz, before picking up a creepy looking doll attached to a hanger. "Whoa. I thought I had a lot of weird stuff. But this? This is impressive."
"Creepy more like it," said Danielle, seeing the doll move its arms and tossing it away. "Eep! Gosh, I hate the supernatural at times."
"Finally, you're back," said Eda, gaining the girls attention.
"Where in blazes are we?" asked Danielle, lifting the tent flap for herself and Luz.
"Now let's see what we've got here," said Eda, screwing Owlbert back in place on her staff.
"The owl…" thought Danielle, staring as Owlbert went wooden. "Wasn't real? It's magical wood?!"
"Garbage. Garbage. Garbage," said Eda, ruffling through the bag and tossing stuff aside before settling on joke glasses. "Now, this... This will make me rich."
"It will not," thought Danielle, groaning as Luz giggles.
"And this... Oh, this will make good kindling," said Eda, holding a book over a candle.
"Wait…" said Danielle, as Luz gasps and runs forward.
"Excuse me, sorry, it's mine, thank you," said Luz, grabbing her book and running back into the tent.
"The door? It just…" said Danielle, seeing the Portal Door fold into a suitcase.
"You're not going anywhere," said Eda, appearing behind the girls.
"Please, let us explain," said Danielle, before seeing Luz lift up the tent a bit and escape. "Wait…"
"Fine, let's get your friend," said Eda, gesturing Danielle to follow her.
"Give me your skin!" said a Fairy, about to bite Luz.
"Back off Tinkerbell," said Danielle, swatting the fairy away with her bag.
"That's not even my name!" screamed the Fairy, as it landed in the town below.
"Thank you," said Luz, sighing before looking at Danielle. "Where am we? Did we die? Are we in the bad place?"
"You wish," said Eda, touching Luz's shoulder and taking her back to the tent alongside Danielle.
"I'm so sorry! I just wanted my book! If you're gonna eat my skin," said Luz, sitting down on a stool and offering her arm. "Just make it quick! Just do it now!"
"Eat you? Why would I eat..." said Eda, looking at the girls. "Potential customers?"
"Customers?" said Danielle, looking at Eda. "What do you sell?"
"Can I offer you a human foot filled with holes?" asked Eda, holding up a single green croc.
"It's a shoe and one of the worse designs out there," replied Danielle, before thinking. "Wait… did she just call it a human foot?"
"No, it's not," said Luz, looking at Danielle. "I have a pair back home."
"To each their own," said Danielle, pocketing her hands. "What else you got?"
"Okay then," said Eda, grabbing a stick of deodorant. "A bar of green human candy?"
"Not candy, it's men's deodorant," said Danielle, grabbing the men's deodorant. "Correction: antiperspirant, helps deal with body odor."
"Yoink," said a Centaur, grabbing the antiperspirant and dropping some money on the table. "Thank you."
"Well, that worked…" said Eda, before grabbing a portable television set. "Oh, oh! How about this black shadow box that reflects only sadness?"
"Not a shadow box," replied Danielle, making Eda groan. "It's a portable television, a telecommunication medium for transmitting moving images and sound."
"You're killing me here kid," said Eda, rubbing the bridge of her nose as Luz slightly laughed.
"That's not all it can do. Here, let me see it," said Luz, as Danielle turned the tv set over as she put in a set of batteries and turned it on. "Voilà!"
"Oh my gosh," thought Danielle, slightly scared as demons started bidding on the tv set. "What scary place did we come to?"
"What did you say your names were?" asked Eda, staring at the girls with a grin.
"I'm Luz," replied Luz, introducing herself. "Luz Noceda."
"I never even mentioned it," said Danielle, staring at Eda and curling her hands together. "I'm Danielle Hopkins, nice to mee'cha."
"Well, Luz, Danielle, that was pretty clever...," said Eda, grabbing money. "For some humans."
"That's kind of a weird thing for another human to say," said Luz, staring at Eda.
"Agreed," said Danielle, staring at Eda.
"Oh, dear children, I'm not like you," said Eda, taking off her bandana and climbing onto the table. "I'm Eda the Owl Lady, the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles!"
"A witch?" said Luz, staring at Eda.
"A witch?" said Danielle, before thinking. "Dad can't find out about this place. I'll lose him here even more than before."
"I am a respected, feared…" said Eda, emphasizing herself.
"Busted!" said a Guard, busting the television.
"Run! It's a guard!" said the crowd of Demons, running away from the stand screaming.
"Eda the Owl Lady, you are wanted for misuse of magic and demonic misdemeanors," said the Guard, holding up a wanted poster.
"Whoa!" said Luz, peeking over the table. "Witch criminal!"
"Criminal?" said Danielle, staring at the Guard than Eda.
"You are hereby ordered to come with me to the Conformatorium," said the Guard, grabbing Eda's arms.
"Would you guys quit following me around?" said Eda, freeing her arm. "I haven't done squat."
"If she hasn't done squat than she shouldn't be arrested," said Danielle, getting her hair ruffled by Eda.
"See," said Eda, staring at the Guard.
"I just want my necklace back is all," said Danielle, looking at Eda.
"Oh," said Eda, staring to the side.
"And you're coming too, for fraternizing with a criminal," said the Guard, grabbing Luz and Danielle by their hoods before being kicked in the stomach. "Oomph!"
"One: I was not fraternizing. I was just talking with her," said Danielle, hands on her hips. "Two: I didn't know she was a criminal and she doesn't really look like one to me yet."
"Hey," said Eda, eyeing Danielle.
"And three: Don't grab me like that," said Danielle, crossing her arms over her chest. "I don't like it."
"Again, thanks…" said Luz, standing up. "For the save there."
"You're welcome," said Danielle, looking at Luz.
"Not bad kid. Here, let me get my stuff," said Eda, magically wrapping everything on the stand into a tablecloth. "Whoops. Can't forget this."
"A key?" said Danielle, seeing Eda take a key out of her hair before pressing it, summoning the Portal Door in briefcase form to her.
"Follow me, humans," said Eda, running away while using her staff to carry the bundle of stuff.
"This is crazy," said Luz, running alongside Eda and Danielle. "If I die here, my mom's gonna kill me!"
""Wait up. I don't exactly know where I am," said Danielle, running alongside Eda and Luz. "Plus, I don't want to be put in prison before I even…"
"Ha! I won't let 'em hurt you," said Eda, before staring at the girls. "Humans like you two are much more valuable to me alive than dead."
"Wait, what?" said Danielle, staring at Eda.
"Wait. What's that supposed to…" said Luz, staring at Eda.
"Whoo-hoo!" shouted Eda, linking arms with the girls before pulling them in while jumping on her staff and flying away.
"Oh my goodness!" screamed Danielle, clinging to the staff before looking back at the Guard. "Try to catch us now, sucka!"
"You won't get away with this, Owl Lady!" shouted the Guard, before looking at his hands. "Yeah, all right. You did. You got away with it. She got away with it, everybody! Typical."
"Hahaha, funny. You're one interesting human," said Eda, ruffling Danielle's hair before looking at Luz. "You can open your eyes now, human."
"Whoa careful," said Danielle, as Luz slightly screams and nearly falling off the staff. "Here."
"Flying staffs, crazy monsters, you're a witch!" said Luz, as Danielle helped her up. "What is this place?"
"Have to agree there," said Danielle, looking at Eda. "What is this wonderous yet creepy place?"
"This is the Boiling Isles," replied Eda, gesturing to the land around them. "Every myth you humans have is caused by a little of our world leaking into yours."
"I wonder how accurate some of our myths, legends and lore are," said Danielle, pondering on the thought before a large griffin flew by spewing spiders. "I could have gone without knowing that about griffins."
"I knew it!" said Luz, pointing at the griffin.
"Knew what?" asked Danielle, looking at Luz.
"I did a little project in school one day," replied Luz, looking at Danielle. "Crafted a baby griffin spewing spider breath."
"Oh," said Danielle, a little disgusted.
"Yep. Griffins, vampires, giraffes..." said Eda, listing a few of the myths.
"Giraffes?" said Luz, confused.
"Giraffes…" said Danielle, looking at Eda. "Really?"
"Oh, yeah. We banished those guys," said Eda, landing the staff and hopping off. "Bunch of freaks."
"Aaah!" screamed Luz, jumping off the staff as Eda's hand was still attached.
"Um, Miss Eda…" said Danielle, cringing at the sight. "I think you left something behind."
"Oops," said Eda, grabbing her hand and screwing it back on. "That happens sometimes."
"Well, I've had enough adventure for today. This is clearly not the PG fantasy world I always dreamed about," said Luz, standing up and looking at Eda. "So, can you help me get back home?"
"Agreed," said Danielle, looking at Eda. "After you give me back my necklace."
"Only if you help me first," said Eda, chuckling while magically lifting the bundle. "Ah, now, come along, humans."
"What?" said Danielle, following after Eda and Luz before thinking. "I wonder… could mom be here? Dad did start researching demons and witches after mom left. There's got to be a connection."
"Whoa!" said Luz, staring at Eda's house before looking at Eda. "Aren't you worried about those guards finding us?"
"Nope," replied Eda, looking at the girls. "My house has a state-of-the-art defense system."
"Hoot-hoot! Password, please!" said Hooty, before Eda poked his eyes. "Aah!"
"We got no time for this, Hooty," said Eda, staring at Hooty. "Let us in."
"All right, all right! Geez! You never want to have any fun! Ow! Hoot!" said Hooty, opening his beak wide, covering the whole front door.
"Fair warning: you try and eat me," said Danielle, walking into the house. "And I will find a way that will leave you having the worst case of constipation and heartburn for the remainder of your life."
"Yes ma'am," said Hooty, scared for his life.
"Don't you think that was a little much?" asked Luz, staring at Danielle.
"Nope," replied Danielle, staring at Luz.
"You must be a riot at parties," said Eda, looking at Danielle before snapping her fingers. "Welcome to… the Owl House."
"Love the cozy feel of the place," said Danielle, staring around the living room while Eda magicked certain things to life. "Love the ceiling art."
"Where I hide away from the pressures of modern life. Also the cops. Mm, also ex-boyfriends," said Eda, chuckling.
"This place is beautiful!" said Luz, putting her book on the coffee table. "Do you live here all alone?"
"Actually, I have a roommate," replied Eda, hearing thudding footsteps that was shaking the house slightly.
"Is this your current boyfriend?" asked Danielle, dodging a little debris.
"No," replied Eda, disgusted by the notion.
"Who dares intrude upon I," said King, their voice deep before changing to normal, rounding the corner after a fresh shower and squeaking a rubber ducky. "The King of Demons?"
"King?! This isn't a game!? What's going on?"
"Weird," thought Danielle, hearing a voice in her head that sounded much like Luz. "Why did I hear Luz's voice in my head?"
"¡Ay, que lindo!" said Luz, running forward and scooping King into a hug. "Eda, he's so cute! Who's a widdle guy? Who's a widdle guy? Is it you? Is it you?"
"Agreed," said Danielle, scooping King into her arms. "You are the cutest thing I've seen here so far."
"Hey!" said Luz, pulling King back to her. "I had him first. Wait, your turn."
"Or…" said Danielle, pulling Luz in close with King stuck in the middle of the cuddle. "We can do this. Oooo, so cute. Hehehe!"
"No! I don't know who your little guy is! Help!" said King, trying to get free. "Eda, who are these monsters?"
"Oh, this is Luz and Danielle, the humans," replied Eda, dragging Luz and Danielle away. "They're here to help us with our little... situation."
"Oh! Hooray!" said King, looking at the girls.
"Wait, wait, wait," said Luz, looking at Eda. "I don't like the sound of this "situation"."
"Agreed," said Danielle, looking at Eda. "What is this situation you're talking about?"
"Just… let me explain," said Eda, drawing a spell circle that effectively turns into a storybook. "King was once a mighty king of demons, until his Crown of Power was stolen, and he became... this."
"You mean this little bundle of joy?" asked Luz, hugging King again.
"Was I really like that at the beginning? Yikes!"
"The crown is being held by the evil Warden Wrath and locked away behind a magical force field that only a human can break through," said Eda, going back to telling the story.
"There's the kick," said Danielle, realizing where their part in the situation was.
"Humans like you. If you help us retrieve his crown, we'll send you back to your realm. So whaddya say? Plus," said Eda, picking King up by his face and shaking him gently. "Who could say no to this cute face?"
"No! Please don't encourage them!" said King, before being dropped.
"I mean, we're kinda your only way home," said Eda, looking at the girls.
"If this means you will give me back my necklace," said Danielle, taking a deep breath. "Then so be it. I'll help."
"So I don't really have a choice, do I?" asked Luz, staring at Eda.
"Glad you agreed and nope," said Eda, picking the girls up and tossing them over her shoulder. "Now, we've got no time to lose."
"Hey, I got feet, you know," said Danielle, struggling in Eda's grasp as she walks to the front door. "Put me down."
"Soon, Mr. Ducky, we shall drink the fear of those who mocked us," said King, picking up his rubber ducky, earning a giggle from the girls as he follows them out the front door.
"Where are we going?" asked Luz, looking at Eda.
"Do you even know where they took King's crown?" asked Danielle, staring at Eda.
"Somewhere super fun," replied Eda, situating the girls and King on her staff before flying off.
"Ooo, flying! I'm flying!" thought Danielle, as they flew towards the Conformatorium. "I've never felt so free!"
"There we go," said Eda, landing near the Conformatorium. "The Conformatorium, a place for those considered unsuitable for society."
"Whoa. These guys really have the hots for you," said Luz, grabbing a wanted poster of Eda.
"Yep," said Eda, winking at the girls. "But we were never caught because we're too slippery."
"Try to catch me when I'm covered in grease. I'm a squirmy little fella. Aah!" said King, before falling off of Luz's head. "You and I will sneak up to the top of the tower, where they're holding my crown."
"And I'm gonna make sure the warden's distracted," said Eda, gesturing to herself.
"Will I need a disguise?" asked Luz, excited.
"Uh..." said Eda, staring at Luz.
"I've been waiting to use this," said Luz, pulling her hood up and flicking cat ears into place. "Meow, meow."
"It's hideous," said King, as Danielle stifled a laugh.
"Oh, you'll fit right in," said Eda, before creating a glowing platform underneath the girls and King. "Hang on tight."
"Whoa!" said Luz, as the platform rises.
"Whoa," said Danielle, seeing them about to align with the window. "King, get in my hood and hold on tight."
"What for?" asked King, staring at Danielle.
"Trust me," said Danielle, feeling King settled in her hood while waiting for the right moment when the platform lined up with the window.
"Whoa!" said Luz, as Danielle grabbed her hand and pulled her along through the window before tripping. "Aah!"
"Sorry Luz," said Danielle, getting out of her crouch position and helping Luz up.
"I'm okay," said Luz, standing up.
"Ha-ha! Cats don't do that," said King, chuckling at Luz before looking at Danielle. "That was pretty cool though."
"King, wait up," said Danielle, pulling up her hood revealing wolf ears attached before following after King as he walks down the corridor near some cells.
"Oh, you have one too," said Luz, as they caught up with King as she flicked one of the wolf ears. "Cute."
"Yeah, my dad got me this," said Danielle, looking at Luz. "Knows how much I love this series. I have more than one."
"Series?" said Luz, before really looking at the coat. "Oh, you're into the Zelda series. Played the latest entry? Those Guardians are annoying."
"Just wait, you'll be missing them."
"I have all the Swap ones. Just waiting for Tears to come out," said Danielle, as they come upon some cells. "Ooh, creepy."
"Hey, cat lady, wolf lady," said a Female Inmate, gaining the girls attention. "How'd you get out of your cell?"
"Katya, Tinella! You know, I never did get the other guy's name."
"Oh, no, no, no. I'm not a cat," said Luz, pulling down her hood. "Also, I'm not a criminal."
"Same here," said Danielle, pulling her hood down as well.
"Not yet, you're not," said King, looking at the girls.
"Never will be," said Danielle, glaring at King.
"Neither are we. The stupid warden likes to lock people up who don't fit in. Like, I write fanfics of food falling in love," said Katya, pulling out a book of said fanfiction. "I like food, I like love... Just let me write about it."
"That's… uh…" said Danielle, looking at the illustrations. "Unique."
"I'm here because I like eating my own eyes," said a Male Inmate, eating one of his eyes before it popped back up into its socket.
"I didn't just see that," said Danielle, looking away while covering her eyes.
"We are agents of fwee expwession!" said Tinella, being a little loud. "They will never siwence us!"
"Yeah, she's really big into conspiracy theories," said Katya, pointing at Tinella.
"The world is a simulation!" said Tinella, gripping the bars of her cell. "We are but playthings for a higher being!"
"She has no idea how close her theory came to be."
"Eh?" thought Danielle, wondering what that meant.
"Wait. These aren't crimes. None of you actually did anything wrong," said Luz, pacing about before pulling out the wanted poster. "You're all just a bunch of weirdos. Like me."
"And my dad," thought Danielle, looking at the wanted poster.
"It's Warden Wrath!" said Katya, everyone hearing thudding footsteps coming their way. "Hide!"
"Don't have to tell us twice," said Danielle, running into a cell with Luz and King before pulling the bars down before huddling in the corner with Luz and King.
"I can hear you," said Warden Wrath, opening a nearby door and stomping towards the cells.
"Aw shit," thought Danielle, seeing Warden Wrath in plain view in front of her. "He won't be easy to take down."
"Just what are you fools whispering about?" asked Warden Wrath, looking down and picking up Eda's wanted poster. "Ah. The Owl Lady."
"Crude," thought Danielle, watching Warden Wrath crumble the wanted poster. "We dropped the poster. I wanted to keep it."
"I'll get my hands on her soon enough," said Warden Wrath, morphing his hand into a hammer and slamming it into the cell door.
"Fight against the oppwessor! We will wesist! We will conquer! We will never be afwaid of you, you old cweep!" shouted Tinella, staring as Warden Wrath opens her cell. "Hooway! I'm fwee!"
"This plan has gotten dangerous," thought Danielle, scared as Warden Wrath grabs Tinella and squeezes her. "Lord, if you can hear me, help."
"Let this be a lesson to all of you," said Warden Wrath, pointing at the inmates. "There's no place in society for you if you can't fit in."
"He's dangerous," said Danielle, opening the cell alongside Luz after Warden Wrath left. "What corrupt system allows this? Allows people like you to be arrested for just being themselves."
"Emperor Belos," replied Katya, staring at Danielle. "This is his law, saying it's the will of the Titan."
"Will of the Titan, my foot! He's going down this time!"
"Don't worry. We'll get you out," said Luz, pulling the lever alongside Danielle to no avail. "No! My weak nerd arms!"
"You're kidding me!" said Danielle, kicking at the lever. "Both of us were pulling it, how's it so heavy?"
"Just get out of here while you still can, kids," said Katya, walking further into her cell. "Enjoy freedom for us."
Walking away from the cells and down a different corridor, Luz and Danielle gloomily wonder what will become of the inmates. King clings to Danielle's coat as they wander down the corridor. After a bit, Eda flies down and spots the girls and King.
"Hey, I just checked," said Eda, hopping off her staff. "The warden is distracted, tormenting some tiny creature. He won't be coming around here anytime soon."
"Yeah, we kinda already know. We were there when he took her away," said Danielle, staring at Eda then seeing a towering door in front of them. "Think King's crown is in there? Cause I really want to leave this place."
"My crown! It's close! I can sense its power!" said King, fiddling with the doorknob that was as big as he was.
"Aw, he gets so cute when he's thirsty for power," said Eda, staring at King.
"It's not fair that they're all in here. They just want to be themselves," said Luz, staring at Eda. "Why does everyone think that being a weirdo is so bad?"
"Maybe it depends on the severity of it," replied Danielle, looking at Luz. "Some people take it too far that they rather stay in the fantasy than face reality. You got to place a fine line between them."
"What?" said Luz, staring at Danielle before seeing a doorknob roll towards them.
"Come on, before he hurts himself," said Eda, walking towards the door.
"Okay," said Danielle, following after Eda and Luz while thinking. "I should really go home and apologize to dad. Explain to him what's been on my mind for these last few years."
"Ow!" shouted King, being zapped by a barrier around the contraband.
"Here," said Danielle, picking King up and rubbing his head. "That better?"
"Yes," replied King, leaning into the touch.
"We have a human, remember?" said Eda, staring at King. "Two of them, to be precise."
"Oh, yeah," said King, looking up at the girls then the barrier.
"Alright then," said Danielle, putting King down and standing before the barrier alongside Luz. "Here we go."
"Wait a second. Is that a..." said Luz, as they enter and spot a pile of junk with a crown at the top.
"It is," said Danielle, beginning to climb the pile of junk. "It's a Burger Queen crown."
"Hey, have you tried their latest burger?" asked Luz, climbing up as well.
"Yes, it wasn't half bad," replied Danielle, looking at Luz. "Could have gone without the ice cream though. I hate popping candies."
"Less yapping, more searching," said Eda, hearing the girls talk.
"Sorry," said the girls, before Luz grabbed the crown and slid down with Danielle out of the barrier before standing.
"My crown!" said King, jumping in place while grabbing his crown out of Luz's hands. "Yes. Yes! I can feel my powers returning!"
"I feel like we've been duped," thought Danielle, wiping her jacket.
"You, there. Nightmare critter," said King, pointing at a stuffed rabbit toy and picking it up. "I shall call you Francois, and you shall be a minion in my army of darkness. Ha-ha!"
"That crown doesn't give him any powers, does it?" said Luz, staring at Eda.
"Of course it doesn't," thought Danielle, staring at King.
"Uh, no," said Eda, only for the girls to glare at her. "Oh, look at us, Luz, Danielle. King and I don't have much in this world. We only have each other. So if that dumb crown is important to him, it's important to me. And besides, us weirdos have to stick together, you know?"
"I'm not that much of a weirdo," said Danielle, tapping her foot on the ground before smiling. "But… I really like what you said right there."
"Aw, come on. I bet there's a little weirdo somewhere within you," said Eda, poking Danielle's chest. "Well, we owe you one. Now, let's get out of here before the warden finds us and loses his head."
"Too late," said Warden Wrath, appearing behind Eda and cutting her head off.
"That's still… traumatizing."
"Eda!" shouted Danielle, catching Eda's severed head as Luz screams as well, tears forming in the corners of her eyes. "I'm so sorry. We should have seen this coming."
"Ow!" shouted Eda, making the girls scream. "Oh, I hate it when that happens."
"What the… How the… Feeling faint, no false alarm," said Danielle, recovering herself. "Eda, are you okay?"
"Yeah," replied Eda, staring at Danielle. "This just happens when you get older."
"Does it?" asked Luz, staring at Eda's head.
"No, no it doesn't. What magic is at play keeping you alive?" asked Danielle, looking at the severed neck area before turning green. "Uh, I shouldn't have looked."
"Yeah, you shouldn't have," said Luz, before Danielle pointed the neck area towards her, going green as well. "Ugh, gross."
"Hey!" said Eda, looking at the girls.
"Finally," said Warden Wrath, transforming his hand back to normal and taking the crown off of King's head. "I have you cornered, Eda the Owl Lady."
"Weh?" said King, jumping to get his crown out of Warden's Wrath hand.
"My guards could never get you, but I knew if I took your pet's toy, you'd come running," said Warden Wrath, crumbling the crown.
"No! My power!" said King, backing up and slumping to the floor.
"King," said Danielle, concerned for King before seeing a crown in amongst the pile.
"What do you want with me? I've never actually broken any of your stupid laws..." said Eda, glaring at Warden Wrath. "In front of you."
"I want you..." said Warden Wrath, pulling out a bouquet of flowers. "To go out with me."
"Wha...?" said Eda, confused.
"What?" said Luz, disgusted.
"Huh…?" said Danielle, staring at Warden Wrath.
"Go, boss!" said a Guard, cheering on Warden Wrath.
"You've always eluded our capture. You've always been the one who got away," said Warden Wrath, staring at Eda. "I found that alluring."
"I hate everything you're saying right now," said Luz, looking at Warden Wrath.
"You have a weird way of going about asking for a date," said Danielle, staring at Warden Wrath.
"You stay out of this!" shouted Warden Wrath, tossing the bouquet and shifting his hands into tentacles, grabbing the girls.
"Let us go ya big brute," said Danielle, struggling against the writhing tentacles as a Guard picks up a struggling King.
"So how about it, Owl Lady?" said Warden Wrath, pulling Eda's head up by the hair. "The most powerful witch of the Boiling Isles and the feared Warden Wrath. We'd be the strongest power couple ever. I mean, it's-it's not like you can say no right now."
"Eda, don't! A guy like this…" said Danielle, only for a tentacle to wrap around her mouth.
"I said, stay out of this!" said Warden Wrath, only for Danielle to bite the tentacle. "Ow!"
"Aw gross," said Danielle, spitting. "When was the last time you washed your hands?"
"All right, Warden. You win. I'd just like to say something first. Come closer. No. Just come a little bit closer. Just... Yeah, that's good," said Eda, before blowing a raspberry in Warden Wrath's face.
"Yes," said Danielle, feeling Warden Wrath drop her and Luz before seeing Eda's staff and grabbing it and the nearby crown she'd seen. "Alright then, time for a little karma."
"Impudent wench!" said Warden Wrath, glaring at Eda. "Don't you know how many germs are in your mouth? Blegh!"
"Get over it. You had your guards stalk me, and then you cut off my head," said Eda, staring at Warden Wrath. "I am not going out with you."
"If you don't accept, then I have no choice but to des…" said Warden Wrath, only to be slammed on the head by Eda's staff courtesy of the girls. "Oh!"
"Take a hint already, she doesn't like you," said Danielle, staring down at Warden Wrath before rubbing the top of the little owl's head. "Sorry about that buddy. That must not have felt good."
"Yeah," said Luz, agreeing with Danielle.
"Nice!" said Eda, chuckling before two guards approach from behind.
"Not so fast," said Danielle, striking the butt of the staff into one Guard then kicking the other Guard.
"Alright!" shouted King, before being scooped up by Danielle.
"Okay, we're going now," said Luz, grabbing Eda's head and mounting the staff with Danielle and King. "Expecto... flying? Magicus... escapicus!"
"How do we get this thing to work?" asked Danielle, sticking Eda's head back onto her body.
"Gun it, magic stick!" said Eda, getting her staff to fly them out of the room.
"Eep!" said Danielle, gripping the staff tight.
"Owl Lady, I won't let you get away again!" said Warden Wrath, getting up and transforming his arms into tentacles before giving chase.
"All right, now to get out of here," said Eda, guiding her staff throughout the Conformatorium.
"Wait! Get Katya and the others out!"
"Hey, I know this corridor," said Danielle, recognizing the area.
"Eda, lend me a hand!" said Luz, seeing the inmates cells and opening them with Eda's help.
"Go go!" shouted Danielle, staring back at the inmates. "Warden Wrath is not that far behind us."
"They just…" said Katya, staring at the girls.
"They did," said Tinella, running out of her cell.
"Let's go," said the Male Inmate, gesturing to a nearby door.
"Ooo, here comes the fall."
"What?" said Danielle, as Warden Wrath strikes the staff and they plummet to the ground outside the Conformatorium. "Could have said that sooner. Ow!"
"Ow, my bones!" said King, lying flat on his stomach.
"Luz, Danielle…" said Eda, taking the key out of her hair and handing it to Luz. "Go back to the human world."
"What about you guys?" asked Luz, seeing Eda run towards Warden Wrath.
"Huh… but…" said Danielle, watching Eda dodge Warden Wrath's strike.
"If you think this guy is bad, you shoulda seen her last boyfriend!" said King, getting up and running to join Eda.
"Not my boyfriend," said Eda, grabbing King and jumping back towards to the girls.
"But…" said Danielle, staring at Eda. "We can still help."
"No, you can't," said Eda, putting the girls on the staff and slapping the bottom. "Go! Go!"
"But… But I…" said Luz, as the staff took off with her and Danielle.
"Wait! No!" said Danielle, as the staff flies high. "Eda! King! We have to go back."
"I know… wait…" said Luz, looking at Danielle then seeing the inmates peeking out of a hole in the wall.
"What are you thinking?" asked Danielle, as Luz flew them down towards the inmates.
"Why are you guys just standing there?" asked Luz, getting off the staff alongside Danielle. "This is your chance to escape!"
"Luz is right," said Danielle, looking at the inmates. "Here's your freedom."
"The warden'll catch us," said the Male Inmate, looking to the side. "He always does."
"We belong here," said Katya, staring at the girls.
"No, you don't," said Danielle, staring at the inmates.
"Self-doubt is a pwison you can never escape fwom," said Tinella, looking at the ground.
"So, you have a different way of doing things, a different way of seeing things," said Luz, trying to encourage the inmates. "That might make you weird, but it also makes you awesome. Don't you see?"
"Luz…" thought Danielle, listening to Luz's words. "I really need to apologize to dad."
"Why are you helping us?" asked Katya, staring at Luz.
"Because you remind me of my dad!" said Danielle, before looking sad. "I may have said something hurtful to him when I ran away. But I actually love my dad the way he is."
"Danielle…" said Luz, looking at Danielle, concerned.
"Kid," said Katya, stepping forward.
"I shouldn't have said those words to him," said Danielle, wiping away a tear. "But I completely agree with Luz here."
"Us weirdos have to stick together," said Luz, pulling her hood up and mounting the staff alongside Danielle. "And nobody should be punished for who they are. Now, let's get 'em!"
"You got a plan?" asked Danielle, as they flew towards Warden Wrath.
"Kinda," replied Luz, as they flew past Eda and King.
"Luz?" said Eda, confused as she sees the girls. "Danielle?"
"I'd enact that plan now," said Danielle, as they descend as they see the inmates pin Warden Wrath down.
"You!" shouted Warden Wrath, glaring at the girls. "Who do you think you are?"
"Do not underestimate me, Warden Wrath, for we are Luz and Danielle, the humans, warriors of peace," replied Luz, pointing at Warden Wrath before letting the wind blow against her hair. "Now eat this, sucka!"
"Mmmm! This is her plan?" thought Danielle, embarrassed as she pinches the bridge of her nose before seeing Luz strike a firecracker into Warden Wrath's flaming mouth. "Get away! He's about to blow!"
"We are victorious!" shouted Tinella, cheering alongside her inmates as Warden Wrath runs back inside.
"That was actually one of her better breakups," said King, staring at the girls as Eda walks over.
"Can't breakup if they never dated," said Danielle, scratching underneath King's chin.
"Agreed," said Eda, staring at the girls. "Anyway, let's bounce before any more monsters fall in love with me."
"Yeah, you can do better than him," said Danielle, mounting the staff with Eda, Luz and King before flying away.
Arriving back at the Owl House, everyone heads back inside. Eda leans her staff against the couch as Danielle stretches. Plopping on the couch for a bit, Danielle looks at Eda.
"Alright, we helped you get King's crown back," said Danielle, looking at Eda. "Now, my necklace."
"Right," said Eda, magicking Danielle's necklace forth. "This it?"
"Yes!" said Danielle, grabbing her necklace in pure bliss. "Oh, I'm so sorry baby."
"Well, a deal's a deal. Let's get you two home," said Eda, snapping her fingers.
"Thank you, Miss Eda," said Danielle, putting her necklace back on.
"Before I go..." said Luz, taking out a doll's head and taking the crown off. "I know it's not the same, but... a king shouldn't be without a crown."
"Ooo, I actually found this among the pile of junk," said Danielle, taking out the one she grabbed earlier. "Here King, now you have two."
"These shall suffice," said King, putting on the crown before pointing at a nearby plant. "You there, plant! You are now under my command."
"Oh, and don't forget this," said Eda, grabbing Luz's book off the coffee table and handing it to Luz.
"I have a feeling Luz wants to stay here," thought Danielle, as she watches Luz. "I don't blame her. I want too as well."
"Okay. I know you got your head cut off, and we started some kind of prison riot, but this was the most fun I've ever had," said Luz, looking at Eda. "I don't fit in at home. You don't fit in here. If I stay, we could not fit in together."
"You know, I actually had fun today as well even if I was scared," said Danielle, staring at the door than Eda. "I want to stay here as well."
"What about your dad?" asked Eda, staring at Danielle. "I overhead you talking with those inmates and wanting to apologize for something."
"I ran away from home hoping I could find my mom," said Danielle, staring at Eda. "Dad started getting into witches and demons when she left and I feel there is a connection somewhere now that I know this realm exists."
"Your mom's missing?" said Luz, looking at Danielle, concerned.
"I'm listening," said Eda, crossing her arms over her chest.
"I-I-I feel like she may have found her way here or someone from here took her," said Danielle, looking at Eda with a determined look. "I want to find her and bring her back home so we can be a family again."
"And you?" asked Eda, staring at Luz.
"I want to stay and become a witch. Like you. And Azura," replied Luz, holding up her book before crumbling up a pamphlet. "I'm not going back to summer camp."
"What's summer camp? What are we talking about here?" asked Eda, staring at Luz.
"I'll explain later," said Danielle, recognizing the pamphlet and tossing it in the fireplace in annoyance. "I may not want to be a witch but I would love to learn magic and utilize different spells if it means I have to safe my mom."
"All right, that's crazy," said Eda, looking at the girls. "Humans can't do magic… well, at least real magic."
"Maybe that's because they haven't tried," said Luz, looking at Eda. "If you teach me to become a witch, I'll do anything you want."
"Within reason with me," said Danielle, looking at Eda. "Nothing sexual."
"I'm gonna have to agree on the last thing as well," said Luz, blushing to Danielle's remark.
"Let them stay!" said King, pulling on Eda's dress before whispering. "They can make us snacks."
"Well, I could use a hand keeping this goofball out of the cupboards," said Eda, smiling while picking King up. "All right. I'll teach you two. But you have to work for me before you learn any spells. Deal?"
"Deal," said Danielle, about to hug Eda before pulling away as Luz pulled everyone into a hug. "Uh…Luz."
"Gah! What's going on?" asked Eda, looking at Luz.
"Too tight! Too tight!" said King, being squished between the women.
"She's giving us a bear hug," replied Danielle, as Luz loosened the hug. "Thank you."
"Alright, follow me," said Eda, gesturing to the girls to follow her.
A brief tour of the house was given before Eda showed Luz and Danielle a storage room they could bunk in during their stay. Leaving the girls alone, Eda heads up to her room. Changing into a set of pajamas, Luz and Danielle look at each other.
"Hehe, great minds think alike," said Luz, seeing Danielle's were a different color scheme to her pajamas.
"Guess so," said Danielle, unfurling her futon on the floor. "Ooo, this takes up most of the floor. Um… I can share for the night."
"Really?" said Luz, looking at Danielle. "Thanks."
"May want to use your sleeping bag as a blanket then," said Danielle, tossing her comforter out alongside some pillows.
"What size bed do you have at home?" asked Luz, looking at the size of the comforter.
"I… uh…" said Danielle, looking to the side. "Have a queen size."
"Oh," said Luz, looking at Danielle, surprised.
"Let's just go to bed," said Danielle, laying down on her futon before passing some pillows to Luz. "Here."
"Comfy," said Luz, using her sleeping bag as a blanket before taking a photo frame of her mom and herself out.
"Hmm," said Danielle, hearing King clear his throat as she looked at him while holding a photo frame of her and her parents from six years ago.
"Your mattress looks fluffy," said King, holding Francois in his paws.
"Come on," said Danielle, patting her futon while watching King curl up at the foot of the futon with his toy. "Good night, sweet dreams you two."
"Good night," said King, drifting off to sleep.
"Don't worry mom. I will find you and we'll be a family again, I promise," thought Danielle, staring up at the ceiling while holding her necklace before turning on her side. "Luz, could you please turn off you cell? It's been a long day."
"Okay," said Luz, turning off her cell after she texted her mom. "Good night."
"Hey, Luz," said Danielle, looking over her shoulder.
"Yeah," said Luz, looking at Danielle.
"What you said back there about weirdoes and such," said Danielle, pulling her comforter close. "I like what you said."
Owl Pellet #2
Moments after Luz and Danielle entered the Demon Realm, Vee slithers out and down the steps. Hearing someone rustling in the bushes nearby, Vee shifts into looking like Luz really quick. A woman in her forties comes out and spots Vee.
"Luz? Where are you?" asked the Woman, before spotting Vee disguised as Luz. "Luz? There you are."
"Hello... fellow human!" said Vee, nervously. "Um... skin's sure weird!"
"Very funny. But, I was thinking, instead of taking the bus to camp, why don't we drive?" said the Woman, placing a hand on Vee's shoulder. "I got the day off from work, and you'll have full control of the playlist."
"Danielle, sweet pea," said Jacob, pushing back some brushes and spotting the Woman and Vee. "Hey, have you seen my daughter? She should be around here."
"No," replied the Woman, looking at Jacob. "We haven't."
"Okay… thanks," said Jacob, before resuming his search for Danielle. "Danielle, sweet pea. This isn't funny. Come out."
"I hope he finds his daughter," said the Woman, walking away with Vee. "Let's get you to camp."
"O-okay…" said Vee, before thinking. "Wait… could that other girl be his daughter?"
"No no no, please don't let it be," thought Jacob, getting frantic in his search. "Please no… I can't lose my baby girl too."
