I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the OC known as Danielle Hopkins. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.

Chapter Eleven

It was another market day for the residents of the Owl House. Setting up the stand for the day, Luz had a little project going as Danielle watched over the stand.

"Weh!" said King, trying to grab a flag only to fall off the stand. "Stupid flag!"

"You okay, King?" asked Danielle, helping King up.

"Yeah, I'm okay," replied King, dusting himself off.

"It's been a little slow around here, but I've got just the thing to attract customers," said Luz, setting up her little project above the stand. "And who doesn't like their name in lights? Is it too subtle?"

"This ain't Vegas," replied Danielle, staring at the illuminated sign. "Eda won't like it."

"Does subtle mean ugly?" asked Boscha, standing before the stand.

"Hi, Boscha! Hexsidians!" said Luz, greeting Boscha and her friends. "See anything you like?"

"Ew! No," replied Boscha, before summoning her Penstagram scroll. "I'm just here to take an ironic Penstagram next to your weird flashing trash sign."

"Hmmm," said Danielle, a thought going through her head.

"It's not funny, Boscha," said Luz, looking at Boscha.

"What are you going to do?" asked Boscha, staring at Luz. "Spit your human venom on me?"

"You have venom?" said King, looking at Danielle and Luz. "Quick, Danielle, Luz, start melting faces!"

"Even if I could, it's not worth it," said Luz, kneeling down. "You wouldn't understand how to handle teens like her."

"No, I'll show you what to do" said King, grabbing Luz's hood before jumping on the table. "You will tremble before me!"

"Oh, he's so cute!" said Boscha, grabbing King before taking pictures.

"Weh!" said King, pushing Boscha's face away.

"How much? I have to own him," said Boscha, staring at Luz.

"Not for sell," said Danielle, grabbing King. "But those photos are. Ten silver snails for each one you just took."

"I'll just delete them," said Boscha, about to delete the photos.

"The moment you took them, the moment you pay up," said Danielle, eyeing Boscha before setting off a plant glyph. "And you will pay."

"Ugh, alright, fine," said Boscha, handing over the fifty silver snails before being let go.

"Think that was a little much," said Luz, whispering in Danielle's ear.

"Nope," said Danielle, counting the snails.

"I smell an easy mark," said Eda, before jumping out of the tent. "Hey, kid! Can I offer you the latest fashions from... the human realm?"

"Yeah, no," replied Boscha, walking away with her friends.

"Well," said Eda, changing her clothes back to normal. "I hate her."

"Yeah, teens can be sour, but I'm a little sweetie," said Luz, before pointing at her sign. "Look what I made you!"

"Luz!" said Eda, trying to take the sign down.

"Bend the other end to me," said Danielle, grabbing the other end of the sign.

"Did I spell something wrong?" asked Luz, looking at Eda. "Or did I spell something right?"

"Stop that. You may be forgetting something, Luz. I'm kinda... on the run!" said Eda, wiping away the lights before holding up her wanted poster. "Remember? Every guard in town would be at my doorstep if I had my name in lights."

"Not so long as I'm around," said Danielle, sitting on the stand.

"Well, I don't see anyone right now. Maybe you're just being paranoid," said Luz, looking at Eda. "You're a powerful witch. Why hide when you can "poof" all your problems away with magic?"

"Not that simple," said Danielle, looking at Luz.

"Hey!" said Luz, looking at Danielle. "At least you have magic… which by the way you haven't really been able to really get working."

"Why you…" said Danielle, only for Eda to put her staff between her and Luz.

"Enough," said Eda, looking at the girls. "Magic is not always easy to grasp at the beginning."

"What does Danielle and Luz know about problems, anyway?" said King, walking on the stand. "All they have is dumb teen drama! They doesn't understand how hard some of us have it."

"Hey, I under…." said Danielle, staring at King.

"You're pampered all day like a dang baby," said Eda, staring at King. "How hard is that life?"

"Well, I don't know if you realized, but I'm not a baby!" said King, screaming.

"Then why are you screaming like one?" asked Luz, looking at King.

"My life is a living nightmare!" said King, still screaming.

"Well, there's only one thing to do when friends can't see eye-to-eye," said Eda, looking at Danielle, Luz and King.

"Talk it out," said Danielle, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Hug each other till we pass out?" said Luz, hugging King.

"Fight to the death!" said King, staring at Eda.

"Pfft, no," said Eda, looking at Danielle, Luz and King. "Body Swap!"

"Are you sure you two don't shoot venom?" asked King, looking at Danielle and Luz.

"I love a good body swap," said Eda, shaking her staff slightly. "It's like demonic possession with the ones you love."

"So, a walk in each other's shoes," said Danielle, thinking about it.

"We're doing that? That's possible?" said Luz, before grabbing a VHS tape. "This is just like my favorite early 2000s movie! Freaky Fraturday. But maybe we should think about this for a second."

"I have to agree with Luz here," said Danielle, placing a hand on Luz's shoulder. "We should think about this."

"Body swap!" said Eda, initiating the spell.

"And she just goes ahead with it," said Danielle, as the spell takes over before looking herself over. "Okay, I'm in Luz's body."

"Did it work? I need a mirror," said Luz, running into a mirror. "Found one. Oh, my gosh. It worked! I'm so furry… and pointy."

"Oh, my good…" thought Danielle, as she stared as Luz was in King's body, as she held back a laugh.

"Yeah, it is. I'm the witch now," said King, posing in Eda's body. "Bow before my massive, meaty hands!"

"Dang Danielle," said Eda, feeling out Danielle's body, which she currently was in. "You have better curves than I did at this age."

"Uh…" said Danielle, blushing as she watched Eda pose in her body. "Thanks?"

"All right, here's the deal," said Eda, looking at Danielle, Luz and King. "Whoever can prove their new body has the easiest life gets out of house cleaning duty. And you know what that means."

"Won't be me. Life as a teen is a tyrant's dream!" said King, looking at Eda. "By the end of the day, I'll have accrued more money than you ever have."

"Excuse me for a moment," said Danielle, walking into the tent.

"Danielle, what are you…" said Luz, only to hear a zipper unzip. "Huh?"

"Sweet relief," said Danielle, coming out after a few moments holding Luz's leggings. "Don't understand how you can wear these."

"You got to be kidding me!" said Luz, staring at Danielle. "You wear a leotard for gymnastics! How can you not wear leggings? They're super comfortable."

"Major difference. Leggings feel super tight and feel like a second skin which I don't like," replied Danielle, looking at Luz. "My leotard is not as tight as these. Plus, I'd start running if I were you."

"Huh?" said Luz, staring at Danielle.

"You're in King's body, I'm in yours," said Danielle, flexing her fingers. "There's a cuddle… no, petting in your future."

"Wha-aah!" shouted Luz, running away from Danielle.

"Come back here," said Danielle, giving chase. "I will get these pets in. One way or another!"

"Well, they're gone," said Eda, before setting up a chair. "Ah, time to relax."

"Nice try," said King, hovering over Eda. "I'm an authority figure now. So, minion, back to work."

"Wha… just you wait, I'll be back in my body…" said Eda, before a group of young male witches and demons were before her. "Whaa?"

"Your one of those humans under the Owl Lady, aren't you?" asked Male Witch #1, staring at Eda.

"I'll give you some snails for a kiss on the cheek," said Male Demon #1, staring at Eda while holding a pouch of snails.

"How bout on the lips?" asked Male Witch #2, moving closer.

"I'll give a hundred for a date!" said Male Demon #2, looking at Eda.

"Owlbert!" shouted Eda, as Owlbert flew out of her main body's hair and into her hands.

Twirling her staff, Eda notices a faint sparkle to her magic. Deducing it was Danielle's magic effecting hers, Eda slams the butt of her staff down blasting the male witches and demons away. Taking flight, Eda flies away but with her pursuers in pursuit. And not just with snails but with candies and flowers as the chase continues throughout the whole market. Shaking off her pursuers at one point, Eda flies back to her stand and into the tent to hide.

"If anyone asks," said Eda, from in the tent. "I'm not here."

"Thanks a lot for leaving me to man the stand," shouted King, shaking his fist. "Eda's life sucks."

"Really?" asked a Coven Guard, in disguise. "You're the famous Eda the Owl Lady?"

"Who wants to know?" asked King, shooing the guard away before a cuff went around his wrist. "Weh?"

"I do," said the Coven Guard, taking off his cloak.

"Did I just hear…" said Eda, coming out of hiding. "A Coven Guard."

"I was able to catch you in the act," said the Guard, trying to drag King with him before looking at Eda. "And you will too human. Can't do anything without your mentor being cuffed so come quietly."

"Alright alright," said Eda, before grabbing King's hair. "We'll be discussing this later."

"Yes Eda," said King, as the two followed the Coven Guard.

Coming upon the police precinct after a while, Eda was planning on how best to take down all the Coven Guards. Flipping through the notepad that Danielle usually has on hand, Eda sees quite a few that could work in her favor.

"These will do quite fine," said Eda, being pushed into a room after King had his mugshot taken.

"Got any plans?" asked King, staring at Eda.

"Depends," replied Eda, staring at King. "How much snails did you accrue?"

"This much," replied King, holding up a barely filled small satchel.

"You definitely lost that round," said Eda, before Lilith came in the room. "Lilith."

"Hello, Edalyn," said Lilith, staring at King than Eda. "Hello human… or should I say half human."

"Watch it," said Eda, glaring at Lilith.

"Do you know why you're here?" asked Lilith, staring at King.

"Tons of things," replied King, looking at Lilith.

"Now, while Lilith is distracted," thought Eda, grabbing a Wood Glyph.

"Sister," said Lilith, unfurling a scroll. "The charges against you are long and many. Operating a stand without a permit, owning a hocus without a pocus..."

"So long, so boring," thought King, hearing Lilith still reading from the list. "No wonder Eda is the more fun of the two."

"These charges are serious," said Lilith, looking at King. "There's no more running away, Edalyn."

"Three, two, one!" thought Eda, activating the glyph.

Beams of wood rushes forth, slamming into the wall and door. Melting the cuffs off King with a Fire Glyph, Eda grabs King's hand and hightails it out of the room. Calling for Owlbert, Eda with King were able to fly out of the precinct with ease. As for the kids while that was going on, Danielle had just gotten hold of Luz.

"Ah! No, reconsider," said Luz, before the light petting started up. "Oh, oo-ooo, a little lower."

"Not so bad, now is it," said Danielle, lightly petting Luz.

"Okay, your petting is good," said Luz, leaning into the touch. "Your touch is a lot more gentle than I thought."

"Well, I had to learn to be gentle with Skye and her siblings when we took care of them," said Danielle, before putting Luz down. "There, better?"

"Yes," replied Luz, before two elderly ladies walked forth.

"Oh, Dottie!" said the Elderly Lady, picking Luz up. "Look at this lost little dumpling!"

"Uh, wait…" said Luz, jumping out of the Elderly Lady's arms.

"I'm sorry ma'am," said Danielle, looking at the Elderly Lady. "This little one is with me."

"Really now," said the Elderly Lady, looking at Danielle than Luz. "We have yummy treats."

"Want to check it out?" asked Danielle, looking at Luz.

"I don't see why not," replied Luz, looking at Danielle than the Elderly Lady. "Where to?"

"Follow me," replied the Elderly Lady, leading Danielle and Luz to her café.

"Oh my…" said Danielle, seeing the café. "You have a kitty café here?"

"This is our little safe haven for cherubs like the little one," replied the Elderly Lady, looking at Danielle than Luz.

"They have kitty cafes here," said Danielle, gushing over the fact. "I haven't been to one since I was eleven when Aunt Reina took me to one."

"Your realm has kitty cafes?" asked the Elderly Lady, looking at Danielle.

"Of course," replied Danielle, starry eyed. "They're themed cafes whose attraction is cats who can be watched and played with. Patrons pay a cover fee, generally hourly, and thus cat cafés can be seen as a form of supervised indoor pet rental. They're quite popular in Japan."

"You've been to Japan!?" said Luz, jumping onto Danielle. "You have to got tell me all about it!"

"How bout another time?" asked Danielle, pulling Luz off her. "I have an idea. This place may be a little different but you can experience it for yourself."

"You're right," said Luz, before looking at the Elderly Lady. "What do you have to show us?"

"Actually, it's just gonna be you," said Danielle, looking at Luz. "I was thinking of going for a little walk. I'll be back after a while. That okay?"

"Sure," said Luz, seeing Danielle about to leave. "Enjoy your walk."

"Good riddance," thought the Elderly Lady, as Danielle left before looking at Luz. "Come on now."

"I can walk," said Luz, as the Elderly Lady picked her up and placed her in a crib. "What?"

"Precious cargo like you should be taken care of. Boop!" said the Elderly Lady, before giving Luz a cupcake. "All you should have to worry about is how many belly rubs you want or how much tasty num-nums you're gonna eat."

"I'm… um… lactose intolerance," said Luz, giving the cupcake back. "I have to be careful with what I eat."

"Oh, I didn't realize," said the Elderly Lady, looking at Luz. "I'll see what I can do. Stay right there."

"Oof, that was creepy," said Luz, before a cat jumped onto the crib after a bit. "Why, hello there."

"Leave this place!" said the Bowtie Cat, looking at Luz. "Danger is near."

"Danger?" said Luz, before the cat ran away.

"Baby demon! We have a surprise for you!" said the Elderly Lady, walking back after a bit with a novelty costume in hand. "A gift for our new, cutest demon."

"Oh… my… gosh," said Luz, staring at the bee costume. "I… um… going to have to say no to this. Byeeee."

"Dottie, please help our little angel get changed," said the Elderly Lady, as Luz jumped out of the crib and ran towards the door.

"Wha…" said Luz, seeing Dottie's shadow behind her before looking back. "Wha-aah!"

While that was happening, Danielle was just leisurely walking but staying close by so she could backtrack easier. Only thing is by a certain point in her walk, a bolt of lightning whizzed nearby, taking a few strands of hair with it. Looking back, Danielle spots a Hexside Construction Student Biped Demon, glaring at her.

"Can I help you?" asked Danielle, turning around and staring at the Hexside Student.

"Filthy human," said the Hexside Student, still glaring. "Go back to your realm before I make you."

"Sorry, no can do," said Danielle, staring at the Hexside Student. "But I have a reason to be here for the time being. I'll leave…"

"You'll leave right now!" shouted the Hexside Student, sending a lightning bolt at Danielle. "I, Yellow Fang, will make you!"

"What's your deal?" asked Danielle, dodging every lightning strike.

"My deal is your kind took my great great great… so many great-grandfather away," said Yellow Fang, glaring at Danielle. "That bastard of a human had him killed. Said it was for an expedition but it was all a lie."

"Doesn't mean you have to take it out on me," said Danielle, grabbing a Light Glyph. "Right… Luz only has the Light Glyph. Come on Mister Titan, show her some more."

"Stay still," shouted Yellow Fang, blasting more lightning bolts at Danielle.

"Yeah, no," said Danielle, backflipping over a lightning bolt. "Ooh, right. Luz's body. Not as flexible."

"You're probably just as bad as that human," said Yellow Fang, encasing his hands in stone. "Enchanting our kind, damn temptress."

"Oh, I think I know who you're talking about," said Danielle, dodging a strike. "One of the lore of our town. You're talking about the Wittebane brothers."

"Don't know, don't care," said Yellow Fang, as Danielle blinded him with a Light Glyph. "All I know is that the Clawthorne at the time was seduced. You're probably doing that to the Owl Lady right now."

"One: Eda is too old for me, Two: I'm not interested in love right now," said Danielle, seeing someone come up from behind Yellow Fang. "And three: I'd watch your back."

"Huh? Gaah!" said Yellow Fang, being pinned down by a young griffin. "Puddles, get off me."

"Ooo, hey there," said Danielle, slowly reaching out to pet Puddles. "Such a sweet thing."

"Hands off Puddles, you temptress," said Yellow Fang, still pinned down. "No wonder you have the Owl Lady under your hands. Such a simple looking beauty like yourself…"

"Yellow Fang!" shouted Viney, running over. "What are you doing?"

"What do you think?" asked Yellow Fang, as Viney got Puddles off. "This human…"

"Really sorry about my older brother," said Viney, looking at Danielle.

"Don't apologize," said Yellow Fang, looking at Viney.

"Mom wants us home to help with the cockatrices," said Viney, looking at Yellow Fang. "You're to deal with…"

"Nooo, not Banesworth," said Yellow Fang, slumping down to the ground. "That cocker has it out for me."

"I'll just be going," said Danielle, backing away. "Nice meeting you."

"Hey! Get back here. I'm not…" said Yellow Fang, only for Viney to punch him. "Viney, why…"

"Such a pain," said Viney, rubbing her forehead.

As Danielle left the two be, she started heading back towards the kitty café. At one point, Danielle thought she saw Eda and King fly by. Coming upon the kitty café, Danielle notices Luz in the display window… wearing a bee costume.

"Luz?" said Danielle, confused but containing a laugh. "Wha-what happened?"

"Get me out!" said Luz, staring at Danielle. "Before they come back!"

"Alright alright, I'm coming," said Danielle, entering the café. "Come on, let's get you out."

"You're enjoying this, aren't you?" asked Luz, as she got out of the window display.

"Maybe," replied Danielle, giggling a little before seeing a broom being swept her way. "What the?"

"Dottie! A teen has come to steal our little babies," said the Elderly Lady, wielding a broom in hand.

"What? No," said Danielle, staring at the Elderly Lady. "I'm just here to pick up my friend."

"Lies!" said the Elderly Lady, striking her broom at Danielle.

"That' enough," said Danielle, grabbing the broom as it almost struck her. "I mentioned I was coming back after my walk and I did. Now unless you want to deal with Eda the Owl Lady later than be my guest."

"The Owl Lady?" said the Elderly Lady, staring at Danielle.

"Yes, we live under her roof," said Danielle, looking at the Elderly Lady.

"Out! Out!" said the Elderly Lady, shooing Danielle and Luz out of the café. "I won't lose favor from the Titan by mingling with wild witches. Now, out!"

"I'm so ready to end this day and go back to my body," said Luz, sighing. "And getting out of this costume."

"Yeah… hold that thought," said Danielle, confusing Luz as she opened the door slightly. "Excuse me, got any more of those costumes?"

"Out!" shouted the Elderly Lady, throwing the broom.

"Really?" asked Luz, as Danielle closed the door.

"It was worth a shot," replied Danielle, giggling slightly. "Now, let's go find Eda and King."

"You hear that?" asked Luz, as they walked towards a commotion. "Whoa."

"I'm afraid to ask," said Danielle, seeing Eda and King with Coven Guards and Lilith fighting.

"Eda, you rotten sister!" shouted Lilith, her voice coming from a dog. "Switch me back! Ah!"

"Body swap?" said Danielle, staring at Eda as she walked over.

"Yup. All right," said Eda, staring at Danielle, Luz and King. "Did everybody learn a valuable lesson about experiencing each other's hardships?"

"Yep," replied King and Luz, staring at Eda.

"It wasn't that hard to understand," said Danielle, looking at Eda. "Everyone has hardships."

"Good, let's end this nightmare," said Eda, before spinning her staff. "Body Swap!"

"My body! My glorious little body!" said King, glad to be back in his body.

"Feels good to be back," said Danielle, stretching.

"I'd say," said Luz, stretching as well.

"Are they gonna be okay?" asked King, pointing to the body swapped Lilith and Coven Guards.

"Eh?" replied Eda, shrugging.

"They'll be fine," said Danielle, seeing the fight ongoing.

"Eda, I just wanna say that things can be more complicated than you think," said Luz, looking at Eda. "But with you guys, it all feels a little less mixed up."

"Really?" asked Danielle, looking at Luz.

"Really," replied Luz, side hugging Danielle. "Even if we do fight sometimes."

"Aw, that's sweet, kid," said Eda, as Owlbert spreads his wings. "Now, let's never speak of this again."

"Agreed," said Danielle and Luz, looking at Eda.

After mounting Eda's staff, everyone heads home. The sun is setting as it paints the sky a lovely shade of reds and oranges.

"So, wait. Who is going to clean Hooty?" asked Luz, staring at everyone. "It's getting... dire. Maybe if we all work together we could…"

"Not it," said Danielle, Eda, and King, staring ahead.

"Aw, man," said Luz, before hearing Hooty in the distance.

"Guys? Today's my monthly cleaning. Hoot, hoot. I'm 20% mucus, but don't let that stop you," said Hooty, curling up in the mud. "C'mon, I have so many hard-to-reach spots that need swabbing!"

Owl Pellet #16

After having parked outside the Gravesfield mall, Jacob heads inside and locating the store he was looking for. Heading into the local GameStop, Jacob grabs his wallet as the local cashier notices him.

"Hey, Mr. Hopkins," said the Male Cashier, putting games away on the shelves. "Here for Danielle's game?"

"Yeah, Mason," replied Jacob, looking at the various games. "It's the latest Fire Emblem one."

"Ah right, Three Hopes," said Mason, searching for said game. "Here it is. Pre-ordered limited edition."

"Pretty thick," said Jacob, holding the box. "Danielle's gonna love this."

"Her other game is coming out near the end of July," said Mason, as Jacob handed money over. "I think it's that Digimon one that has been extended for so long."

"That's the one," said Jacob, before leaving with game in hand. "Have a nice day."

"You too," said Mason, waving bye. "Tell Danielle I said hi."

"I will," said Jacob, exiting the store before thinking. "After I save her from that beast… … ah, crap! I forgot to get Skye new treats."
