Izuku nervously approached his mother, who was diligently scrubbing dishes at the kitchen sink. His palms were sweaty, and he felt a knot tightening in his stomach. This was going to be an awkward conversation, but he had to have it.
"Hey, m-mom," he began, his voice wavering.
"Yes, honey?" she responded without turning around, her hands busy with the soapy water.
"I've been wondering…" Izuku hesitated, trying to find the right words. "Since I unlocked my quirk, I didn't get the chance to experiment with it much…"
Inko paused her dishwashing and turned to face him, concern and curiosity etched on her face. "Of course, dear. How can I help you?" She looked puzzled for a moment before adding, "But you never told me what your quirk was since it awakened ten months ago…"
"It's sort of like… Star and Stripe's," Izuku said, bracing himself for her reaction.
"Wh… oh! The Number One Hero of America! But… what's her quirk?" Inko asked, her eyes widening with recognition and confusion.
Izuku took a deep breath and launched into an explanation. "Star and Stripe's quirk is called New Order. It allows her to impose a rule on her surroundings, essentially changing the properties of things by declaring it so. For example, she can say, 'Air will become solid,' and it does. It's an incredibly powerful quirk, but it has limitations. She can only maintain two rules at a time, and the rules must be declared verbally."
"So you have her powers…?" Inko's eyes were wide with awe and concern.
"I'm not quite sure… but it helps me enhance my physical strength, speed, and reflexes." Thank God, he came up with a believable excuse! "But… her quirk has some limitations. I was wondering if I also have those limitations."
"Okay?"
"So far, I have tested my powers on inanimate objects…" He reached into the sink and pulled out a melamine plate, holding it up for her to see. "This is a knife."
Tip. Tip. Water dripped from the knife-turned plate, and Inko's eyes widened in shock.
"What?!" Inko gasped. She didn't even see the transformation! She snatched the knife from his hand, examining it with a mixture of disbelief and curiosity. She hilariously tested it, chopping imaginary vegetables in the air and even trying to slice through a stale loaf of bread that had been sitting on the counter. The blade sliced through effortlessly, leaving her gaping.
"Oh my god! Izuku, this power…"
"It's something else, isn't it?" Izuku laughed awkwardly.
'Just tell her already,' Nana urged from inside his mind. 'I just want to see the look on her face!'
'You're so sadistic, Seventh!' Izuku mentally retorted, though he couldn't suppress a small smile.
Izuku took a deep breath, gathering his courage. "Mom, I want to try out my power on an animate object and… can you…?"
"Wait, what?!" Inko dropped the knife on the floor and backed off, her face pale. "You want to turn your own mother into a kitchen knife?"
"What! Of course not! Just, trust me, okay?"
"A-alright…" she said suspiciously. "But it should not be anything weird…"
"Okay, are you ready, Mom?"
She shook her head furiously, her anxiety palpable.
"Here goes nothing: You are slim and beautiful!"
Inko suddenly felt an odd sensation wash over her. She looked down and realized she was much lighter. Her clothes hung loosely on her transformed frame, her pencil skirt dangerously close to slipping off, and her shirt billowing around her like a tent.
"Oh my god! What have you done?" she shrieked, trying to hold up her skirt with one hand while grabbing at her now too-large shirt with the other. She stumbled around the kitchen, her shoes now comically oversized, clomping on the floor with every step.
Izuku tried not to laugh, but it was impossible. "Mom, you look like you're wearing someone else's clothes!" he managed to say between chuckles.
'This is priceless!' Nana laughed from inside his mind. 'She looks like she's in a circus act!'
"Seventh, you're not helping!" Izuku mentally retorted, though he couldn't suppress his own laughter.
"Change me back! Change me back right now!" Inko demanded, still trying to keep her clothes from falling off.
"Okay, okay! You are back to normal!" Izuku said quickly, but nothing happened.
Inko stared at him, her eyes wide with panic. "Izuku! Change me back!"
"I-I'm trying!" Izuku stammered. He took a deep breath, focusing all his energy. "You are back to normal!" he declared again, but to no avail.
Inko's panic began to give way to resignation. "Izuku, why isn't it working?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"I don't know!" Izuku admitted, feeling a wave of guilt and frustration.
After a moment of silence, Inko sighed. "Well, I suppose… this isn't so bad," she said, her voice hesitant but with a hint of relief. "I mean, I always wanted to lose a bit of weight…"
Izuku's eyes widened. "Mom, you look… you look good. Really good."
Inko blushed, still holding up her skirt. "Do you really think so?"
Izuku nodded earnestly. "Yeah, Mom. You look amazing."
Inko's face softened, and she managed a small smile. "Alright, I suppose I can stay like this for a bit… but only because you said I look good."
'Just admit it, you're happy to be back to your old form,' Nana teased.
'Seventh, not now!' Izuku thought, though he couldn't help but agree. His mother did seem genuinely pleased, despite the awkward situation.
Izuku sighed in relief. "Thanks, Mom. I promise I'll figure out how to change you back soon."
Inko nodded, still holding up her clothes. "Just… next time, give me a little warning, okay?"
"Deal," Izuku said, laughing nervously.
As Inko adjusted to her new form, Izuku couldn't help but marvel at the power he wielded. It was both awe-inspiring and terrifying, and he knew he had a lot to learn about his newfound abilities. But for now, he was just grateful that his mother was willing to help him, even in the most bizarre of circumstances.
oOo
Izuku went to his room and took out a brand new notebook. He will write about the original New Order before Quantum Command. He slipped the book open set on his study table and took out a pen before writing.
Quirk Analysis: New Order
-Type: Emitter
- Activation: By touching a target and naming it, Cathleen can impose a new rule or law upon it.
- Limitations: Can apply up to two rules simultaneously; the second rule becomes inactive if a new one is imposed.
- Examples of Rules:
- "Air will cease to exist at this point."
- "Tomura Shigaraki will stop breathing."
Strengths:
- Versatility: Can be used on living beings, inanimate objects, and even intangible concepts.
- Power: Capable of massively altering the environment and enhancing physical abilities.
Weaknesses:
-Name: Target's name must be correct
- Range: Requires physical contact to initiate the rule.
- Complexity: Rules must be clearly defined and feasible within the Quirk's limits.
Usage Notes:
- Effective in both offensive and defensive strategies.
- High potential for strategic combat scenarios, especially in manipulating battlefield conditions.
This is for Star and Stripe's original quirk. But Quantum Command is… different. He has been experimenting with it for three days now.
Izuku had been experimenting with his new quirk, testing it on natural elements, cosmic elements like light, and even living beings. So far, he had managed to control these aspects with varying degrees of success, but he was always cautious, not wanting to draw too much attention to himself.
Yesterday, however, he decided to push the boundaries a little further. He wandered into a small pet shop, hoping to conduct a low-key experiment. As he walked through the aisles, he spotted a black-furred dog sitting quietly in its cage, its eyes following him with curiosity.
Izuku glanced around to make sure no one was watching. He leaned closer to the cage and whispered, "Your fur is blue."
The dog's fur shimmered for a moment before transforming into a bright, vivid blue. Izuku's eyes widened in amazement. "It worked!" he whispered excitedly. But when he tried to cancel the command and return the dog's fur back to its original black, nothing happened. Panic started to rise in his chest.
"Uh-oh," Izuku muttered, frantically whispering, "Your fur is black again!" The dog's fur remained stubbornly blue.
Just then, a bell jingled as a customer entered the shop. Izuku's heart raced as he turned to see a young woman walking toward the dog cages.
"Oh, my gosh! Look at this dog!" she exclaimed, her eyes lighting up at the sight of the blue-furred canine. "It's so unique and beautiful!"
Izuku silently thanked whatever luck had brought her here at this exact moment. The girl at the counter, however, looked utterly confused.
"We… don't have any blue dogs," she said, flipping through her inventory list and glancing up at the customer.
"I want this one!" the woman insisted, her excitement palpable.
The girl behind the counter blinked, clearly baffled but not wanting to lose a sale. "Uh, sure. Let me just get the paperwork…" She quickly processed the adoption, shooting perplexed glances at the mysteriously blue dog.
Izuku watched in relief as the customer paid and walked out of the store, cradling the blue dog in her arms. The girl at the counter shook her head, muttering, "I'm sure we didn't have a blue dog. How did that happen?"
Izuku, trying to suppress a grin, casually strolled out of the store. As soon as he was a safe distance away, he let out a sigh of relief. That had been way too close. He couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of the situation.
'Well, that was a narrow escape,' he thought, imagining Nana shaking her head and laughing inside his mind. 'Looks like I need to be more careful with my experiments.'
Today, all his experiments were going to be noted…
Quirk: Quantum Command
Type: Emitter
- Activation: By vocalizing the command.
- Limitations: Cannot reverse a command on an animate object.
Examples of Rules:
- "Mei Hatsume hates machines."
- "My strength is multiplied by a thousand."
- "His quirk won't work on me."
Strengths:
- Versatility: Can be used on living beings, inanimate objects, and even intangible concepts. Works on the human mind and body. Can work on cosmic scales if enough concentration is provided. Can apply multiple commands simultaneously.
- Power: Capable of massively altering the environment and enhancing physical abilities.
Weaknesses:
- Rules applied on the user do not work for too long.
Usage Notes:
- Effective in both offensive and defensive strategies. Can literally heal any injury.
- Can be used in any scenario.
Izuku nodded, satisfied. With this power, he can defeat All For One with enough plan.
He looked at the calender.
Muscular should face the hero couples soon…
Perhaps he can save Kota's parents after picking up Eri from Chisaki?
'Sounds like hell of an adventure awaits!' Nana exclaimed.
"Indeed," Izuku nodded with a smile.
