Voice of the Unspoken Hero
Chapter 01: The Cursed Quirk
"Papa,"
"What is it?"
"I have finished my homework! Can you tell me that story now?"
"Hmm, what do you say, honey? "
"Salmon."
"Alright brat, listen up! This is how Izuku became the Number One Hero."

She readied herself, taking a deep breath. This was it. Her chance to prove she was worthy of being a hero. The huge mock city stood before her, meticulously crafted by UA High School for the practical entrance exam. She had nailed the written exam, and now it was time to shine.
"Go!" boomed Present Mic's voice, reverberating through the air. She sprinted into the mock city without a backward glance. Almost immediately, a robot lunged at her. She didn't care if it was a Two Pointer or a One Pointer. She had to act.
"Target locked!" the robot announced, hurtling towards her with ferocious speed.
She was quicker. "Get busted," she whispered, unzipping her high collar, revealing the bottom part of her face— she had odd tattoos around her mounth. Her voice, ghostly and commanding, made the robot freeze. Smoke started billowing out of its joints, short-circuiting it. The machine collapsed in a heap, broken.
She grinned. 'That was good,' she thought. But there was no time for self-congratulation. She needed to keep moving.
Another robot charged at her, its gears grinding. "Get crushed," she muttered. The robot imploded, crumpling like a tin can. Pieces scattered everywhere, and she barely broke stride.
She rounded a corner and spotted a third robot aiming its laser at another student. "Battery down," she said calmly. The robot's lights flickered and died, and it fell to the ground with a thud. The other student gave her a thumbs-up before running off.
A flying drone swooped down from above, its mechanical wings buzzing loudly. "Grounded," she ordered. The drone sputtered, lost altitude, and smashed into the pavement. She didn't even look up as she continued on her path.
Two robots came at her from both sides, their metal arms swinging. "Smash!" she commanded. They collided with each other, exploding in a shower of sparks. She shielded her face from the debris and kept moving forward.
A towering robot with a cannon arm prepared to fire at her. "Malfunction," she said. The robot's arm jammed, and then exploded, toppling the whole structure. It fell with a deafening crash.
She saw a robot hiding behind a building, ready to ambush her. "Expose," she whispered. The building wall crumbled, revealing the robot, which short-circuited and collapsed.
A robot rolled towards her, faster than any she'd seen so far. "Topple," she stated. The robot flipped over and lay motionless. She stepped over it and continued.
Another bot with twin blades charged, its blades whirring menacingly. "Rust," she said. The robot's blades corroded instantly, and it crumbled to pieces. She watched the metal flakes fall like confetti.
A stealth bot emerged from the shadows, nearly invisible. "Get fried," she declared. The robot became visible and immediately froze, its circuits fried. She smirked. 'Thought you could sneak up on me, huh?'
The final robot, a huge one, barreled at her with a roar. "Disassemble," she commanded. The robot's joints loosened, and it fell apart piece by piece. She watched the metal pieces scatter across the street.
Other students watched in awe. She was dominating the entrance exam with just a few words. "Get Crushed," "Battery Down!"—her voice was a weapon.
Suddenly, the ground shook. A colossal figure appeared, marching towards them. The Zero Pointer. Fighting it was futile; Present Mic had made that clear in the auditorium. So, they all ran in the opposite direction.
She had enough points to pass, so she followed suit. But then she heard it. A faint cry.
"Help…"
She turned to see a girl trapped under a concrete wall in one of the mock city's shops. The Zero Pointer's massive foot was about to crush the girl.
'This was supposed to be an exam,' she thought. Any real danger would be handled by the pro heroes watching. But still…
Before she knew it, she was running towards the girl, heading straight for the giant robot.
Summoning all her energy, she shouted at the robot, "Be destroyed!"
And IT happened. The Zero Pointer stopped in its tracks, its body squeezing in on itself. Metal groaned and screeched, bolts popped, and then it exploded into millions of tiny pieces, disintegrating completely.
Everyone watched in awe. The scene was unbelievable. The teachers in the observation room were stunned, even Nezu.

In the observation room, the teachers were glued to the screens. Nezu's normally calm face showed visible surprise. "Incredible," he murmured, adjusting his glasses.
"Did you see that?" Present Mic shouted, unable to contain his excitement. "She took down the Zero Pointer like it was nothing!"
"Her quirk is powerful, no doubt," Eraser Head added, his eyes narrowing in contemplation. "But there's something more to her technique. It's precise."
"All Might," Nezu said, turning to the symbol of peace, "what do you think?"
All Might smiled, eyes twinkling. "She's got the heart of a true hero. And she didn't hesitate to save that girl, even when she had nothing to gain. That's the mark of greatness."

The students gathered around her, bombarding her with questions about her Quirk.
"How did you do that?" a boy with spiky hair exclaimed. "That was so manly!"
"What's your Quirk called?" another girl asked, her eyes wide with admiration.
A robotic-looking boy approached, his face a mix of shock and admiration. "What's your name?" he asked.
"Cheese," she replied, helping the trapped girl to her feet.
They thought she was joking until the girl introduced herself and said,"Bonito Flakes."
They frowned. She was still joking?
"Thank you so much for saving me. I really thought I was done for." The girl said with great enthusiasm. "I am Ochako Uraraka!"
She nodded, offering a faint smile. "Salmon," she said softly.
"Kelp and Salmon? Are those code names or something?" one of the students asked, scratching his head.
Recovery Girl stepped in, helping the injured girl to the nurse's office. "Come on, let's get you checked out. That was a close call."
"I am Iida Teneya." The robotic boy replied. ""I hope to get in the same class, Cheese-san."
"Salmon," she nodded.
The boy left, exhausted but impressed. "That was some display of heroism. Truly inspiring."
The remaining students kept asking her questions, their curiosity piqued.
"Who is your favorite hero?" a boy with glasses asked.
"Mustard Leaf!" she hed up one finger as her eyes sparkled.
"Who?"
"How long did it take you to master your Quirk?" another inquired.
"Tuna Mayo," she replied, holding ten fingers. 'Wow! I am making so many friends! I hope they understand what I am trying to say…'
"Wait, what?" the boy with glasses looked puzzled. "Did you say rice ball ingredients and other food items?"
"Seaweed," she added nervously.
They stared at her, confused. "Is she serious?" one of them whispered.
"Maybe she's just shy," another suggested.
"Or maybe it's some kind of secret code," a girl speculated.
"Perhaps…"
Eventually, they assumed she was autistic and, feeling sympathetic, left her alone.
"Poor girl, I hope she is getting proper treatment."
No one noticed the tears welling up in her eyes. As they dispersed, she wiped her face quickly, not wanting anyone to see. She had done what she came to do, but there was still a long journey ahead.
On her way home, Izuku rounded a corner and collided with someone. She stumbled back and looked up, her heart sinking when she saw who it was.
Kaachan.
He scowled, ready to unleash his anger. "Watch where you're going, idiot—" he started, then stopped short, his eyes widening. "Deku?!" he said, his voice softening with shock.
"K-Kelp!" she stammered, panic bubbling inside her. She took a step back, eyes darting for an escape route.
Bakugou took a step forward, his expression a mix of confusion and frustration. "What the hell, Deku? Where have you been all these years? Why—"
"Seaweed!" she interrupted, her voice trembling. She could feel the tears welling up. She needed to get away before it happened again. "Mustard Leaf," she added, her tone pleading.
Bakugou's eyes narrowed. "Don't run! Deku! Just talk to me!" he demanded, stepping closer.
"Tuna!" she yelled, turning on her heel and starting to run. "Salmon!" The words tumbled out in a desperate attempt to escape.
"Wait, Deku!" Bakugou called after her, frustration and confusion mingling in his voice. "You can't just—"
"Bonito Flakes!" she cried over her shoulder, tears streaming down her face. "Mustard Leaf! Mustard Leaf!"
Bakugou stood there, stunned for a moment, then his determination kicked in. "Deku, stop! What the hell is going on with you?" he shouted, breaking into a run after her.
"Shake!" she screamed, not daring to look back. She couldn't face him. She couldn't hurt him again. "Salmon!"
Bakugou's expression shifted from confusion to fierce determination. "Deku, damn it! Stop running and talk to me!"
"Okaka!" she shouted, legs burning with the effort as she pushed herself to run faster. "Tsunamayo!"
Bakugou clenched his fists, watching her retreating figure. "Deku..." he whispered, a mix of anger and concern in his voice.
Izuku didn't stop until she was out of sight, her breaths coming in ragged gasps, tears blurring her vision. She slowed to a walk, wiping her face with the back of her hand. She was cursed this way, unable to communicate without hurting them.
She cannot face him after what she had done…
But she'll show the world that even with this quirk, she can become a hero.
