To those who've read through the whole Post-post Games series (You can find the stories that are a part of that series in my profile if you haven't), I'm very sorry for how late this is. I planned on releasing this in August of last year, but that's when a Scarlet and Violet DLC was announced, so I decided to wait for that to come out. But then I got caught up on two long fics being written at the same time, and I didn't have time to write this until now. Anyway, welcome to this story. Something to note, this was going to have a completely different story, but I was stuck on how it would work. Then the Dublin riots happened a few months ago, and gave me an idea for this. Now, I do not agree with those riots in any way, nor was I a part of them. But just because you don't agree with an action, doesn't mean you can't take inspiration from it. You'll see what I mean eventually. Anyway, onto this gay fest.
Chapter 1:
Quiet and Loud
To receive a message from Florian to meet with him was something none of his friends had ever thought would happen ever. He was always a very quiet boy, who never said much. In fact, when all of his friends first met him, they thought he couldn't speak at all. So, when he did utter his first words in class, they were taken by surprise. When asked about his irregular speaking, Florian just shrugged and replied, "Don't have much things that need to be said." So, him asking all of them to meet with him was very surprising, especially since it was because he wanted to say something to them. Whenever Florian did speak, he barely said any more than 3 sentences, since he felt that was all that needed to be conveyed. Anything else was just pointless small-talk. In truth, Penny was a bit bashful about going to meet with Florian. She'd developed a small crush on him ever since Operation: Starfall, and being asked to meet up with him was doing nothing to help that. Arven found the sight amusing, because he knew about her feelings for Florian. He also knew that his little buddy harboured the same feelings for her too.
Once Nemona, Arven, Penny, and the Team Star Bosses had gathered in the courtyard, Florian finally explained why he called them here. "Thank you for coming," he said. "I called you here because I wanted to tell you all that my twin sister will be joining the Academy in a few weeks, and I'd like you all to meet her so she has some familiar faces when she starts here." There was a shocked silence for a few seconds. Then, everyone blurted out, "You have a twin sister!?" Florian nodded his head. "Why didn't you tell us before?" Arven asked. Florian shrugged. "What's she like?" Penny asked. "Opposite of me" Florian replied. "Is she a good battler!?" Nemona asked excitedly. Florian nodded his head vigorously, laughing at Nemona's excitement as he did. "When is she coming?" Eri asked. Florian pulled out his phone and showed them all a marked date, which was 2 weeks from then. Once they knew that, they all agreed that they could be there. Florian gave them all the thumbs up in appreciation. Then, knowing that he wasn't going to be saying anything else, they all went back to doing what they were doing.
Everyone spent the next 2 weeks wondering what Florian's twin was like. Florian wasn't of much help, since all he told them about her was that her name was Juliana. Any other question they had about her was answered with a shrug and, "She'll tell you when she gets here." Penny spent quite a bit of time worrying about what Florina meant by Juliana being the opposite of him. Florian was a reserved person, who barely said anything and avoided contact unless necessary. That was one of the many things that Penny loved about him. He related to some of her struggles, so it wasn't hard to spend time with him. She only wished she had the courage to tell him how she felt. Another part of this that worried her was whether or not she'd be a nice person. Florian was as sweet as a Dipplin, and didn't like confrontations. In fact, he'd developed this ability to resolve conflicts with words instead of violence or pokémon battles. Those kinds of thoughts made Penny a bit nervous to meet this girl.
Nemona on the other hand was very excited to meet her. Once Florian gave her confirmation that she was an exceptional battler, she began to think of ways to challenge her to a battle that won't scare this girl off. She could be very forward about this sort of thing. When the day came to meet with this girl, Nemona wouldn't stop wondering out loud about what kind of pokémon Juliana used, and whether or not she'd want a battle right away, or if she should wait until they were all properly introduced first. Florian must've told Carmine and Kieran, who were in Uva on an exchange trip of their own, about his sister's arrival, because they were coming with them. Eventually, Carmine had enough of Nemona's talking. "Arceus, do you ever stop talking about battles!?" she shouted at her. "Nope" Arven replied for her, causing the rest of the group to laugh and Nemona to roll her eyes.
Eventually, they made it to Cabo Poco, where Florian told them to wait. As they stood there, they could see the pair coming towards them. Nemona waved excitedly at them, but stopped when she got a look at Florian's twin. "Dios Mio" was all she could say. As the twins approached the group, they could all see that Florian wasn't kidding when he said his sister was the opposite of him. Where he walked a bit hunched forward and with his head slanted down slightly, she walked with her chin up and proudly. Where Florian was more reserved, Juliana was very boisterous. Where Florian kept the physical contact to a minimum, Juliana kept grabbing onto his shoulders as they walked, obviously very handsy. Where Florian was calculating and careful, Juliana gave the impression of a very impulsive and reckless girl. And finally, where Florian was quiet and spoke little, Juliana wouldn't stop talking.
When the twins got to them, Juliana launched into a full monologue before anyone could get a word in. "Hi my name is Juliana," she said quickly. "In case he didn't say because Florian barely says anything I'm his twin sister. I was supposed to come here with him but I had signed up for the Gym Challenge back in Galar by the time we were moving so I stayed behind with our grandparents while I took it on and then came over here as soon as I was done. But from what I hear Flori has already achieved Champion Rank guess I'd better catch up then. I love to see that he's made some good friends here already I hope that we can all be friends too. He told me about you all so let me see if I get everyone." She said that all so quickly that some of them wondered if she even paused to take a breath. Once she was finished all of that she scanned everyone and pointed to everyone in turn, saying what she thought was their names, along with something Florian had told her about them.
"So, you five are Ortega, Giacomo, Atticus, Eri, and Mela right?" she started. All five nod, to which Juliana smiled. "I remember Florian told me he had to beat you all to get you to return to school. Is it true that you all rode massive vehicle pokémon!? I'd love to see them!" Then she moved on to Carmine and Kieran. "You two are the exchange students right?" she asked. "Florian told me that you were obsessed with this pokémon on Kitakami and were really disappointed when it chose him over you. And you must be the big sister who annoyed him at first before he grew to like you!" Florian smacked her over the head for that and gave Carmina an apologetic look. Juliana apologised too, then her eyes fell on Arven. "You must be the boy who makes the most delicious foods in the world!" she exclaims, vigorously shaking his hand. "Can't wait to try some of this cooking from everything Florian tells me about it!" Then her eyes fall on Penny, much to Florian's horror. "Oh My Arceus, you must be Penny!" she shouts shaking her hand too. "In all of Florian's texts to me and whenever I manage to get him to actually speak, Florian will not stop talking about you..." "JULIE!" Florian screamed, burying his now very red face in his hands. Penny goes as scarlet as her hair at Juliana's words. "Oops, wasn't supposed to say that either!" she said in a sing-song voice. Florian glares at her with a look that says "I'll kill you later."
At last, Juliana turns to Nemona. "And now, you must be... must be..." Juliana trailed off at this as she caught sight of Nemona. She was stunned to silence at the sight of this girl. Nemona probably would've called her out for trailing off, except she'd barely paid any attention to what Juliana was saying, as she was too busy being totally enamoured with her. Juliana was the prettiest girl Nemona had ever seen, and her brain had completely shut down when she stood in front of her. Florian's jaw dropped at this sight. This was probably the first time in his life that he had ever heard Juliana not speak. But at the same time he felt very happy about this. Juliana liked to tease him whenever he brought up Penny. Now was his chance to have his own fun. But first, he had to snap these gay disasters out of their trances. But Arven had beaten him to it. He walked up to them both and clapped his hands, startling them both back to reality. Juliana shook her head which was as red as Florian's Skelidirge.
"Sorry about that," she said bashfully. "I lost my train of thought." "It's fine," Nemona said quickly. "I got distracted as well." The group spent the rest of the afternoon getting to know Juliana. Despite how much she talked, she was a very nice person, and they all grew to like her pretty quickly. But none more so than Nemona, who would steal glances at her whenever she thought she wasn't looking. She was such a gay mess around Florian's twin that Arven joked that he could probably cook a full meal on her forehead if he wanted to. But eventually, it was getting late, and everyone had to head home. As Nemona walked back to her house, she couldn't get Juliana out of her mind. Florian may not have said much, but he could've at least told them how adorable his sister was. Even the most beautiful views in all of Paldea now paled in comparison to Juliana's appearance. As she thought more about her rival's sister, she suddenly realised how weird it was that she was thinking this much about her rival's sister. "Oh I hope Florian didn't notice that," she thought to herself as she arrived home. "I don't want him to hate me for thinking this much about his twin.
As the twins headed home, Florian laughed himself hoarse at Juliana's gay panic. "You really are the biggest gay disaster in the world!" he told her as they walked. "It's you're fault!" Juliana countered. "How come you never told me how pretty your rival was!?" Florian shrugged. "Subjective" he replied simply. "Oh no, there's nothing subjective about this!" Juliana replied. "How can you have fallen head-over-heels for a recluse when you have the human embodiment of a literal goddess as a friend!" Florian goes a bit pink at the mention of his crush, but still laughs at Juliana's. As they arrive home, Florian can't help but smile to himself. These next few years were going to be very interesting indeed.
Sorry about how messy this first chapter is, I just wrote this on a whim. The only part I actually had planned was Juliana and Nemona's gay panic, as well as Juliana being the polar opposite of Florian. For those of you who are unaware, I like to give each main protagonist of the fics in this series a different style of speech. Gloria in fic 1 has speech but it's described rather than written out. Rei in fic 2 talks normally. And Elio in fic 3 can't speak at all. This version will probably be the hardest to write, because I need to be very choosy with where I have Florian speak and where he'll use body language. Don't worry, the rest of this story is much more planned out, I just had a bit of difficulty with this first chapter. Not to mention it's currently 1:40 am as I write this, so I'm pretty tired. Sorry if Nemona and Juliana's crushes are written really badly by the way, I'm asexual so I was basing their gay thoughts on other fanfics, because I personally have no idea what this feels like. Anyway, I hope to see you all in the next chapter, where I will hopefully get the whole crush thing right this time. As for when I'll post that chapter, we'll just have to wait and see.
