Chapter 38: Melissa's Choice
Melissa looked at the little animal in front of her. She knew she would be helping but right now but there was nothing she could do. These were all hero students with quirks. And many of them were trying to fight off the robots.
They had to get to take back the system… And she was the only who could do it...
But it still felt like she was doing nothing.
Not to mention the possible ability to have something like a quirk.
Sometimes she did feel lonely that she didn't have a quirk.
Not to mention that many of her friend were only friend with her because of who her father is…
Granted these heroes in training didn't care she didn't have a quirk when they found out.
But still…
"This is permanent isn't it?" asked Melissa.
"It is… but I can leave you out telepathic conversations." Said Izuku, "But there will be times I might end up bringing you in…"
She took a breath.
"I'll do it." Said Melissa.
"Okay…" said Izuku, "Remember I don't know if it will work…"
"I know…" said Melissa.
Izuku produced the light and Melissa looked at it.
"You can always change your mind." Said Izuku, "The light will go away in a minute."
"I'm sure." Said Melissa taking the light.
There was a flash of blue light.
When the light cleared, she was now where in a blue and white dress. The top half being white while the skirt was blue. Around her wring were light blue ribbons. She had a pair of rather cute blue shoes on her feet and around her neck a light blue choker with the gem on it. She also a light blue visor over her eyes. She also had blue streaks in her hair.
She also felt different… a bit stronger and somehow also lighter. It was strange.
At the same time Izuku turned to his human form, while he couldn't feel any quirks or abilities he was able to tell that he had more time to be in his human form.
"I have no idea what to do…" she thought.
"It will be fine…" thought Izuku.
Melissa was surprised.
"Group telepathy…" pointed out Izuku, "Thgouh I am suprirsed you were able to jump in right away..."
"Mabye you wanted her to join..." added Tsuyu.
Melissa was a cofnsued for a second then remember he had to two partners that weren't there at the moment.
"You did not have a quirk before so it would be understandable if you cannot fight right away." Thought Tenya.
"Who said that?" asked Melissa confused at why she heard a boy's voice.
"We should explain in a less stressful situation." Thought Tenya.
"Either way! We just met up with the heroes." Thought Katsuki.
"Yep! We'll be there soon!" cheered Toru.
However Melissa looked at the robots and saw something she didn't' expect, it was showing her to do something.
That was when she felt it.
She needed to get close to one.
"I need to get close to one of them!" called out Melissa.
"I got it!" said Ochaco summoning her wand and erasing the gravity for a few of them.
Melissa approached one of the robots and touched it.
When she did the screen of the goggles were showing what to do.
As she did the robot began to act differently.
"Put that one down!" said Melissa.
Ochaco did and the robots began to attack the others.
"What!" yelled Kaminari.
"I have some sort of ability to hack by touching electronics." Thought Melissa.
"Maybe you should tell the ones who aren't part of this conversation…" thought Tsuyu.
"Oh right…" said Melissa, "I think my powers let me hack into something I touch."
"Wow! Really?" asked Mineta.
"Do you think you can hack into the system form here?" asked Kaminari.
"No… I still have to get up to the main computer for that." Said Melissa, "But I think I might be able to take over certain systems in certain locations."
"Something is finally going right!" cried Mineta.
"You might want to hack in more robots though." Said Kirishima punching one.
"Don't worry! Back up has arrived!" called out a voice.
That was when suddenly something invisible started to strike the robots.
When a good chunk of them were down, they saw that the four heroes along with the other magical girls (and Ashido) had arrived.
"All right! These are lot of robots!" said Inker.
"Considering everything, it's probably a good idea if you stick around." Said Kissiae.
"Are you sure?" asked Izuku.
"The place is probably swarming with these things." Pointed out the taller hero.
"Yeah not a good idea to let you guys fight them off alone." Said Hammer Hand.
"But I should get control of more of them." Said Melissa.
However the fact that Melissa was able to hack into the robots was getting noticed.
In the Ballroom...
"What do you mean something is hacking in some of the robot's systems?" asked the leader.
"I don't know… it's strange, it's like one robot at a time is failing…" said the person he was talking to.
"Looks like I have to push up my plans." Said the leader who began to leave, "Send someone to the level where it's happening! It seems like we can't use the building's security robots."
Meanwhile most of the robots were either taken out or put under Melissa's control.
However Mineta, Kaminari and Kirishima were staring at Toru.
"I guess you don't recognize me like this." Laughed Toru.
However the three immediately recognized her voice.
"Hagakure!" said Kirishima surprised.
"No way! You're visible!" said Kaminari.
"And totally gorgeous!" said Mineta.
"You want to join the team?" asked Katsuki.
"Now's not the time…" said Izuku.
Katsuki just glared at Mineta.
"Should we continue our original plan or head elsewhere thanks to your new albites?" asked Tenya.
"Do you think heading to the elevator will work?" asked Yaoyorozu.
"Possibly… If not I know where to go from here." Said Melissa, "But if I can get it under my control we'll have nothing to worry about."
They all headed to the nearest elevator.
"Should we be in such a large group?" asked Shoto.
"Probably not a good idea to split up again unless we absolutely have to." Said the taller hero.
"Um…" said Izuku.
"Ask them about their quirks later Deku… not now…" mentally muttered Katsuki.
That was when more robots appeared.
Thankfully the robots that Melissa had under their control came to their defense.
"All right! Do this!" said the taller hero.
He got on a handstand and his legs suddenly extended.
He was a hero that was named Spider Legs. He quirk let him extend his legs to deliver harsh kicks.
Tenya summoned her wand and slowed down some of the robots.
"Melissa!" said Tenya.
"On it!" said Melissa.
"Hey! Icy Hot! Do you think now's a good time for some cover?" asked Katsuki.
Shoto nodded and created steam to confused the robots.
"Deku!" called out Katsuki.
"Right!" said Izuku.
The two of them were in perfect sync as they both delivered explosion to the robots.
Thanks to more robotic back up this group was taken over much faster.
They got to the elevators and Melissa saw that by touching the buttons she could disconnect the elevator to the rest of the systems.
"How do you even know you can hack into it?" asked Ochaco.
"Oh… this visor acts like a computer screen." Said Melissa as they waited for the elevator, "So it's not just for glasses…"
"I guess it makes sense since the powers are trying to compensate for something." Muttered Katsuki.
"Wait… does yours do anything?" Kaminari asked Tenya.
"No… they're just replacement glasses." Said Tenya.
"So I guess the goggles do nothing." Said Hammer Hand.
And the elevator doors opened, however the elevator wasn't empty.
Someone had come out of it.
"Oh look at what we have here." Said the villain.
He turned his arms to blades.
He quickly deduced that Melissa was the one who was doing everything and attacked.
However this was a really dumb idea in front of four pro-heroes and many hero students.
Izuku managed to be the one to strike him first by turning on Shoto's quirk and launching a fireball at him.
What the!" yelled villain.
That was when a tattoo of a tiger leapt off of Inker's arm and started to attack the villain.
"Melissa are you okay?" asked Izuku.
"Don't worry! It was only a flesh wound." Said Melissa showing off that it was indeed only a flesh wound.
Yaoyorozu created some bandages and bandaged her arm.
"You know… maybe we should get some answers from him…" said Tsuyu realizing something.
"Why didn't you do it earlier?" asked Kaminari.
"The two they beat up were unconscious…" said Hamer Hand.
"Not bad for students… but still we should get answers." Said Kissiae.
"I'm going on upstairs…" said Izuku.
"Same…" muttered Katsuki.
"I'll go up with you…" said Kissiae, "Since you kids still need some adult supervision…"
"Same." Said Spider Legs.
"I'm going up as well." Said Shoto.
"As will I!" said Tenya.
"We're going to use the elevator ride to explain about you three aren't we?" mentally asked Izuku.
"It didn't even cross my mind…" thought Tenya, "But we should explain our mental voices…"
"Yeah…" agreed Shoto.
Melissa was just looking at Tenya and Shoto confused.
"Don't worry it will make sense…" assured Ochaco.
"But it will probably weird you out." Mentally sighed Tsuyu.
Everyone else decided to stay behind and interrogate the guy… or thanks to fact that they managed to get a bunch of the robots on their side.
The group that elected to go up and act as back up for Melissa got into the elevator.
As the tiger was still attacking the guy, Inker approached him.
"Now you guys are going to tell why you're doing what you're doing." Said Inker.
"And I doubt that you're doing this to steal Bearer Bonds…" said Hammer Hand.
"Bearer Bonds?" mouthed Kaminari.
The other teens all shrugged at this.
The tiger stopped it's attacked.
"That blonde girl… that's Melissa Shield isn't it?" asked the villain.
"What about it?" asked Ochaco.
"Oh that poor girl… she has no idea what's really going on." Said the villain.
In the elevator the four magical girl and their human mascot were having a conversation.
"You three used to be boys?" asked Melissa.
"My quirk has a side effect when it comes to males… it presently turns them into girls." Thought Izuku.
"I was turned into a girl when I was four, but these two were turned a couple months ago." Explained Katsuki.
"That's why our mental voices are still male…" explained Tenya.
"I see…" thought Melissa.
"You don't have a problem do you?" asked Katsuki.
"No of course not… you're still my friends." Thought Melissa.
"Thanks." Thought Izuku trying bot to cry.
"Are you okay?" asked Melissa.
"He cries a lot…" thought Katsuki, "Even if we're probably not going to see each other often you better get used to it… you're stuck with us for the rest of your life."
"I know…" thought Melissa.
"This is weird…" said Spider Legs with a sweat drop.
"That's what happens when you're with a hive mind… you get left out of conversations." Said Kissiae.
"Got the information about who's behind this…" called out Ochaco.
"But…" thought Tsuyu.
"What's going on…" asked Melissa.
"Jiro confirmed he's not lying when he told us…" thought Ochaco.
That was when they all felt the dread coming from the three magical girls who chose to stay behind.
"Okay… what's the hell is going on…" mentally muttered Katsuki.
"Melissa… the one who hired these men to take over everything… is your father…" explained Tsuyu.
Those part of the team in the elevator all froze.
And those words changed everything about that night. And the night would only get more complicated from there.

A/N: Yep! Melisa is now a magical girl with especially technopath powers, and her goggles (which do act like a pair of glasses as well) were inspired by Sailor Mercury's... so yeah... And I do have plans for in after this arc... though it will take a while to implement it... don't' worry...
