Hiii! So I'm starting a new series! I hope the summary was good because that's my whole premise of this story lol. I hope you enjoy this chapter!

"Pony are ya ready?" Sodapop called out into the house. Ponyboy quickly ran out of his room, throwing down his book and stumbling to put on his shoes. Their parents waited right next to Soda watching as Ponyboy scurried around. Usually, it was Sodapop that was hurrying and struggling to put on shoes, but Ponyboy had seemed have to lost track of time when reading.

Darry was out with some friends, most likely playing football or talking about colleges. Soda was going to go out with Sandy. And Ponyboy was going with his parents to a movie.

Everyone in the house was ready for something. Mrs. and Mr.Curtis were excited to spend some time with their son and Soda was ready to spend some time with his girlfriend. Their moods were lifted as they all settled around the front door, readying themselves to leave.

The winter air nipped at their noses as they stepped outside the house. Mrs.Curtis wanted to use the car that they had instead of the truck. Mr.Curtis obliged, allowing everyone to get into the car before he started driving.

Sodapop was loudly talking from the back of the car, talking about anything that he could. Mostly his mind stayed on the topic of Sandy. Ponyboy quietly conversed with Soda, laughing a bit as he did so. Soda made jokes, keeping the atmosphere in the car lively. He moved about, unable to sit still in anticipation.

"Here right?" Mr.Curtis suddenly called out to Soda as the car rolled to a stop. Soda quickly looked at where they were and nodded. "Thanks, Dad! Love ya Mom and Dad. You too Pony," Soda shouted as he ruffled Ponyboy's hair. Then he quickly got out of the car. Ponyboy waved his hand, using the other hand to fix his messy hair, watching as Sodapop loped to Sandy's house.

"Now let's go see that movie," Mr.Curtis said as he started driving again. Ponyboy sat there excitedly, taking up the sound that Sodapop would've. He talked about the movie and some of the parts that he already knew. His parents listened, however, Mr.Curtis started to grow weary of the road.

"Is it too slick?" Mrs.Curtis quietly asked her husband. She watched as his eyebrows furrowed from driving. They neared train tracks, with Mr.Curtis trying to stop the car. However, the brakes failed, causing the family to inch forward as the tracks started to rumble under them.

Ponyboy started to be on alert, watching as his dad fumbled with the car. He felt his breath fasten as the car slowly started to inch towards the tracks. The rumble of a train approaching threw Mr.Curtis off guard as he accidentally pressed the accelerator of his car.

The car was thrown forward in front of the tracks, just as the train hit them.

Ponyboy felt the impact as he watched Mr.Curtis's side of the car crumple. His heart dropped as the car was thrown off the tracks, rolling for a bit. The sound of metal on metal rang loudly in his ears, even when the collision was over.

Mrs.Curtis screamed, looking towards her husband. Ponyboy wanted to scream too, but the pure shock prevented it. The car finished a roll, and suddenly Mrs.Curtis stopped screaming. Ponyboy felt as if his world had gone silent.

"M… mom?" Ponyboy whispered, unsure if he was even speaking. No one responded to him, causing him to think that he hadn't spoken. His breath fastened, and the smell of gasoline started to enter his nose. No matter how much he wanted to stay with his parents, everything in him told him to get out of the car.

Quickly, he broke the window open, and climbed out. Glass and metal were all over the gravel and he saw a small trail of road leading from where the car and train collided. The train was gone, most likely unharmed. Still, Ponyboy could see part of where the train broke from the impact. He looked at the car, seeing where Mr. and Mrs.Curtis were. His eyes widened as he looked at the fact that the whole front of the car was taken off.

His mind was beyond hazy as he got up. Ponyboy felt as if his legs weren't working right as he continued to look at what had been their car. In a burst of energy, Ponyboy threw up on the side before falling back down to his knees. His mind yelled at him to get help, maybe there was a chance to save his parents.

This was the first time Ponyboy thought in a while. He got up, wiping his mouth from the foul liquid. He ignored a trickling of liquid right next to his ears, preferring to think about where he was going to get help. A car pulled up near him, with the person getting out quickly.

"Are you okay son?" The guy asked. Ponyboy hazily pointed to the demolished car and tried to speak. "M-my parents! They're in there, help me. Help me please," He begged, ignoring the way his words were slurred. The guy nodded quickly, looking inside the car and yelling at someone.

Ponyboy hardly remained present as the person ran out of the car. The guy talking to Ponyboy sat him down, being careful not to look at a certain part of his head. "What happened son, are you okay?" He asked once again. His hands were on Ponyboy's shoulders, keeping him from running and trying to offer comfort.

It took everything inside of Ponyboy not to start crying right then and there. Finally, it had hit him, he was in a car crash with his parents. And they were dead.

He was the only survivor.

He looked at the car, trying to remember how it had looked before. His mind filled his fuzzy memories as he pushed the guy away and got up. He started stumbling to the car, looking right at his parents. Mr.Curtis had been crushed, his blood trickling onto his wife.

Mrs.Curtis looked as if she was sleeping, Ponyboy noted, she looked as if she didn't have a care in the world. It hit Ponyboy how young she looked. Right then he felt a sudden pang in his head. Carefully he reached a hand to his head, continuing to look at the car. He ignored how when his hand touched a certain part of his head it burned with a pain he'd never felt before. Instead, he focused on the car and what it had looked like just an hour prior.

When his eyes passed his side of the car, he couldn't contain his throw-up. The guy from before came to him, pulling him back from the scene. Ponyboy fought back, yelling and throwing his hands. A wail of sirens could be heard as the person came up to the guy.

"My parents!" Ponyboy cried out again. "Mom! Dad!" His voice grew more desperate, but also more weaker as he yelled. The sirens finally reached the spot and Ponyboy watched as EMTs ran out. One went up to him, speaking too fast. Another one ran to the scene, yelling and grabbing at doors. Ponyboy watched, the scene sickening him to the very core.

Ponyboy's mind raced with sudden questions. Who was going to take him? What was going to happen to his parents? And especially, who needs to know? Before he could make a clear decision, he decided to tell the EMT his brother's name. The one that thought more than him.

"Darry," Ponyboy croaked out, "Darrel Shayanne Curtis… call him." The EMT looked around and Ponyboy felt as if his legs seemed to give up from under him. "Help them," He said, talking about his parents, "Please." Tears slipped from his eyes and at that moment, he didn't care about seeming weak or tuff.

After saying that, Ponyboy passed out. He felt the familiar feeling as the ground seemed to reach for him. Something stopped it and instead, there was the sound of yelling. Nothing intelligible reached Ponyboy as his head swirled. Instead of fighting it, he welcomed the unconsciousness and cure for his immense pain.

I hope this chapter was good! :D
