"I can't believe we died!"

"Mineta, please shut up!"

"Why!? We died! We fucking died and now, I have turned into a purple rat and you're now...an actual frog with blue skin!"

Two Pokemon bicker with each other, one resembles a quadrupedal frog with light-blue skin, white hands, and a dark blue stripe from the center of its oval head to its nose. It has three fingers and two toes on its hands and feet. Its eyes, which have yellow sclerae, black irises, and white pupils, protrude vertically from its head due to its size. This Pokemon is Froakie.

The other Pokemon is a small, quadrupedal rodent with purple fur with a cream-colored face, paws, and underbelly. It has narrow eyes containing white sclera and pupils with red irises, rounded ears with cream-colored insides, and a single whisker on each cheek. Its long tail is tightly curled at the end. Its most notable feature is its large teeth. This Pokemon is Rattata.

Despite their current appearance, in reality, they were formerly humans from a world where the majority of the population have superpowers and superheroes are a job. They both are from the same school where they learn how to be a proper superhero but were caught in a villain attack which leads to their death.

"Why are you even so calm!? Why are you even not affected!?" The rat, Mienta wails.

"I am affected, you dumb rat!" The Froakie snaps. "Did you think I wasn't affected by the fact that I am now an actual frog!? I didn't say a word because it won't help our situation, at all!" This made the rat shuts up and whimpers. "I can't believe my afterlife made me into a frog and made me stuck with this perverted midget!"

"You guys are humans?"

Both Pokemon jump in fright at the sudden voice. They turned and saw a new face. It's a quadrupedal Pokémon with a long and slender body. The top half of its body is a dark blue-green, while its underside is cream-colored. It has triangular ears with dark red interiors, a rounded snout, and triangular red eyes. Each of its paws has three toes. This Pokemon is Quilava.

The frog notices that the Pokemon has flames on his head and she can't help to think it looks like hairs. He wears a green long scarf and a bag with the symbol of an egg with a pair of wings attached to it.

"Umm...who are you and why is your head on fire?" The Froakie asked bluntly as the Quilava blinked before laughing.

"Haha, don't worry about it. It's how my species are. We emit flames from the holes on our head and our lower back." The Quilava said while waving his front paws. "Anyways, you two must be humans."

"Umm...how did you know? I mean, we don't look like one?" The frog said.

"Well, your human-turned-Rattata clearly screams it out loud." The Froakie deadpans at the Rattata, who could only lower his head. "Anyways, let's get you guys out of here. This isn't exactly a safe place."

"Umm, sure." The frog mutters. "Oh, I almost forgot, my name is Tsuyu Asui, call me Tsu. And this rat is Mineta."

"Well, nice to meet you two. I'm Izuku Midoriya." They blink when the Quilava reveals his name.

"...I don't want to assume but, were you a human?" Tsuyu asked as Izuku grins.

"Well, what do you think?"

Rescue Base

"Izu!" Izuku laughs as a a bipedal, maiden-like humanoid Pokémon that appears to be wearing a tutu tackles him and gives him a big hug. Most of its body is colored white, and there are three ruffles on each hip. Beneath the ruffles, it has skinny green legs with long, pointed feet. Its arms are also thin with two digits each. It has green hair that covers most of its face and reaches its shoulders on either side, resembling two ponytails. Large, red eyes are visible on either side of the hair that covers its face. On each side of its head is a flat, crimson horn that resembles a hairpin. This Pokemon is Kirlia.

"Hey, Ocha. Sorry for taking a while." Izuku said as the pokemon simply giggles.

"Izu, your bad habits shows again." Izuku blinks before he sheepishly rubs the back of his head.

"Umm, Midoriya-san, who is she?" Tsuyu asked.

"Oh right! Tsu, Mineta, this is my long-time Rescue Team partner, now my wife, Ochako Uraraka, who's also a fellow human." Izuku said while extending his forelegs and gesturing at Ochako, who simply shook her head in amusement at her husband's antics.

Tsuyu blinks in surprise, not expecting the creature who brought them out and saved them from a forest full of bugs that can shoot poisonous stings and cocooned them with a thick thread of silks revealing himself to be a married man. Or is it a married creature? Does the word man still apply to former humans even if they're no longer humans?

"Anyways, as I promised to you two during our escape from Tiny Forest," Izuku said as he extended his forepaws widely. "I'll help you young lads to adjust here!"

"D-do you guys know how to go back?" The question froze both Pokemon as Ochako lowered her gaze as the fire on Izuku's head extinguished. Tsuyu felt nervous at their silence.

"...Tsu, you can't go back..." Izuku said as Tsu's heart shattered. "...if you died in the human world before getting here...you can't go back..."

"...I see..." Tsuyu croaks as she tried and fail to stop tears escaping her eyes. "I...I can't go back to see my parents...my younger siblings...Satsuki...Samidere..." She starts to sobs as Ochako approaches her and comfort her.

"..." Izuku looks at Mineta with a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry, Mineta-san. You won't be-!"

"Wahh!!! This can't be real! There's gotta be a way to go back! Or else, how am I supposed to be a hero and get all the ladies!?!"

WHAM!!!!

A vein popped on Izuku's cheek and his smoking forepaw as Mineta got his whole head buried under the ground, flames bursting out of his head violently.

"Izu! Didn't I tell you so many times since you evolved to control your anger!?" Ochako exclaims.

"D-don't worry about it..." Tsuyu can't help but let out a small chuckle. "He was being horny again...I-I usually slaps him...but I think your husband's method is very effective..."

"*sighs* Come on, let's talk more in the living room. Izu, please carry Mineta and treat his injuries." Ochako said while she and Tsuyu entered the base. Izuku blankly stares at the buried rat before sighing, pulling out the unconscious Mineta, and dragging him to the base.

Later

"..." Tsuyu looks at the cup filled with berry smoothie as Ochako cleans the room by controlling the broom using her mind.

"...Uraraka-san," Tsuyu calls, getting Ochako's attention. "...how did you do it? How...did you accept that...you can't go back...?"

"...I was in denial, you know," Ochako said sadly. "In fact, out of both of us, Izu took it the hardest as he couldn't stop feeling regret for abandoning his mother. He believes getting himself killed by the sludge villain is his fault."

"He...has been here for that long?" Tsuyu asked in surprise.

"It's much longer here. One day here is merely one-third of a day in the human world." Ochako said to Tsuyu's surprise. "I died getting caught in a massive villain attack...I...I use my quirk to save both of my parents from being crushed by a building, but...I end up getting crushed instead."

"..." Tsuyu merely looks at her. "How...how did you cope?"

"...at first, I was a mess...I can't handle everything that happens...but, Izu...he stays by my side...help me to adapt to my situation...be patient..." Ochako said while blushing a bit. "And...I return the favor...I did after learning that...he spent most of the time helping me that he ignores himself...his health..."

"...you guys look like you're made for each other." Tsuyu blunt said as Ochako giggled.

"Thanks..." Ochako said before shaking her head. "To answer your question, Tsuyu, I take my time... Talking with someone about it helps... Don't push anyone who's trying to help you...don't keep everything to yourself..."

Tsuyu merely nods before she takes a sip from the smoothie cup and she widens her eyes in awe when she tastes it.

"So, how's my husband's special smoothie mix?" Ochako asked as Tsuyu looked at her.

"...it's the best shit I ever fucking tasted in my life," Tsuyu said. Suddenly, Izuku walks to the living room while carrying something wrapped in bandages. That 'something' wiggles around and a muffled scream can be heard from it.

"Izu..." Ochako sighs.

"He says and I quote 'What kind of babe Ochako as a human if her current appearance made her so sexy?'," Izuku said in a deadpan manner.

"...he says something far worse than that, did he?" Tsuyu asked.

"Yes, and I rather not repeat his exact words. I ain't letting my wife taste shits from my mouth." Izuku said seriously as Tsuyu stared at Izuku.

"...so you're a simp?" A roar of laughter and an indignant spluttering can be heard from the Rescue Base.
