It's seven in the morning when the alarm clock goes off and today is the day, Friday. Oh my God, I don't even have any clothes to dress for the party! I haven't been to one in so long, I can't even remember what to wear. I think I have to go shopping.
Someone save me, it's too early to be thinking so much already, even more with an art history class. Yes again! But well at least after that I only have an hour of music education and then I can go to the mall and get something to wear later.
I finish getting dressed and go out into the hallway where Tsuki, Tenten's little black cat is waiting for me at the door as usual. Since I'm the first to wake up I'm the one who feeds him in the morning, consequently the cat loves me. Maybe more than he loves Ten herself, many nights he comes into my room with me and we sleep together, he has always been my best company and next year I intend to kidnap him and take him with me.
Arriving downstairs, I head straight for the kitchen followed by Tsuki, who is eager for his food. After his small bowl is properly filled, I proceed to prepare my breakfast. Nothing too special a simple egg with some toast and avocado, this fitness body doesn't stand on its own does it?!
- Good morning!- says a sleepy Tenten to which I reply with the same sentence.
- So how are you after the few hours of sleep?- I ask seeing the huge dark circles under her eyes.
- Tell me about it, the series are consuming a lot of my life time.- she replies while preparing a coffee which I assume is extra strong.
- And I was falsely hoping that you were staying up late studying.- I say wryly.
- Ha ha ha, that's funny. Not everyone is boring like you, people like to have a social life and do things other than study. You study yourself to death and you're not even on a very difficult course. I don't know what would happen to you in medicine.
- I would certainly study even more. Maybe I wouldn't have time for horrible ex boyfriends - I said with sadness in my voice - But I do have a social life, and many friends, I even going to a party - I answer proudly.
- You're right, you're finally getting back to being the Tema I know. I can't wait to see you drunk and dancing out of control again, all the men will be drooling with the goddess you are dancing and after Karui's class your moves must be boiling with sexiness- she says with a great joy in her eyes and a huge smile on her face.
- I'm not going to get drunk at all, let alone make men drool with my dancing. I'm just going to enjoy a night of fun with friends.
- We'll see- was Tenten's short reply before going upstairs to finish getting ready. I soon finish eating, wash the dishes and go upstairs to get ready as well. I put the music work in a folder to go and made sure I have everything I need. I decided to sit in the living room and watch a bit of TV, nothing new. I always have to wait for Ten who always takes time to get ready, even though we live not far away we always go in her car because the distance is still too far to walk.
Our little house has three bedrooms and since Amanda left last year we still haven't found a new resident, but I would love to and the room is for rent at a very affordable price and the house is amazing. And who wouldn't love having me as a flatmate?
The drive didn't last long, at this time of the morning there isn't much traffic, and soon we arrived at the university. The drive was quite quiet, as it was still early in the morning neither of us had much energy to sing in the car or to have long conversations that involved thinking.
- Good morning!- greeted Rin who was already in her locker when we got to ours right next to hers.
- Good morning!- Tenten and I replied in unison.
- Are you excited for the big party? I sure am! - says the girl all excited, seriously her energy scares me sometimes.
- Tell me about it, I don't even know what to wear. I don't have any party clothes, I think I have to go shopping. - I reply with my hand on my forehead in disapproval to myself.
- Did I hear shopping?- shouts Ino from down the hall - Tema we have to go shopping soon. Iiiihhh, I miss you so much! I'll call Tamaki too, I'll be at your place at 11 for lunch at the mall. Let's go girls. Bye.
I barely had time to reason and Ino was already far away. She got close to Sai and kissed him in the middle of the hall. But she's not afraid of being hated by half the school anyway!
The history and culture of the arts class rushed by, maybe because I ended up falling asleep somewhere in the middle of the class. I was passing through the corridor to the room where I was going to have music education, when I am hugged from behind and I feel a smell that I love and would recognize anywhere.
- How was your morning Uchiha?- I ask knowing very well that those arms belong to my brother from another mother.
- Wow, you already recognise me from my hug?- he asks rhetorically as he turns to look at me - The morning was good thankfully. I really hope you go to the party and don't give up till then, you deserve to be the Tema from before.- he says with one of his charismatic smiles that melt anyone.
- I made a promise. I will go to that party and I will start putting my happiness first.- I assure him and he lets out a sigh of relief.
- Good. And don't worry your big brother will protect you from the naughty boys.- he says with a heroic stand that makes me laugh a lot.
- Good thing I'm not dependent on you! Or should I remind you that my little brother failed a subject and now is repeating it?
- It's not necessary, the teacher reminds me every class. By the way I have to go or I'll be late. - after another hug he disappears down the corridor towards his room while I go in the opposite direction towards mine.
- Good morning students - says the teacher as soon as she enters - Where is Miss Nohara? She always comes with you Sabaku.
- I don't know Mrs Martin, I didn't see her in the corridor.
- I am sorry I am late. - says a breathless Rin as she enters the room when the teacher was about to answer me.
- This time you pass Miss Nohara, but let it be the last time. - says the teacher before starting the class.
- Where have you been woman?- I ask in a whisper.
- I was with Itachi, sorry. - she answers in the same tone.
- It's OK, but you know how Ms. Martin is with delays, you can date another time.
- I can't, I'm spending the afternoon shopping with my friends.- she says with a smile and I roll my eyes, she knows very well what I meant.
- Okay, but you'll have the whole party to do whatever you want.
- Oh yeah, whatever I want.- she says with a wicked look that makes me sick.
- Ew!- was my only reply before paying attention to the class.
After handing in the assignments, we were dismissed and waited for the girls at the door of my house. As soon as they arrived we went straight to the shopping centre which is quite near, after about five minutes of walking we were already ready for shopping.
- I don't know about you, but I am so hungry that I can't even explain. Can we go for lunch soon?- asked Tamaki with a pitiful look on her face.
- Of course we can! My hunger is huge too. I could eat for three people and I would still need more.- replied the exaggerated Ino.
- Well, let's go then, we still have a lot of shopping to do. I bet Tema doesn't even have high heels. - said Tenten trying to provoke me.
- No, I don't. They were strictly forbidden because they made him look shorter and because they made my legs look "too provocative" - I replied with a look of contempt and made inverted commas with my fingers on my ex's quote. After this the silence settled, clearly Ten didn't measure how far her joke could go.
- Well, let's have lunch and leave it at that. Who's up for it?- it was Rin breaking the mood and getting us going by hooking her arms in mine and Ino's.
After lunch with conversations on all sorts of subjects, it was finally the time I most dreaded. It had been so long since I had the freedom to choose my clothes that I can't remember what I like. I used to wear tight clothes all the time, and at parties I'd dress to rock, but now it's always the same, jeans and a sweatshirt or t-shirt depending on the weather. I really don't think I'm going to feel comfortable changing from this to what I used to wear to parties, I'm going to go for my old casual. A pair of tight trousers and a cute but not too revealing top. Can't go wrong and my family in the India would be proud of my more conservative choice.
- No, no, no, that's not a Temari pre Deimaru top, it cover everything, not even a shoulder or a little bit of the belly is showing. Come on Tema you said you were going back to being yourself. Why don't you choose something that will make you look even more beautiful?- Tenten asks as I grab a basic turtleneck jumper.
- It's just easier said than done. I don't feel 100% ready for change, the insecurities are still here.- I answer as I put the jumper down, but I realize she's right, yes the jumper is pretty, but it's not me at all. I sigh sadly as I realise that this is going to be the hardest shopping of my life.
- Come on, we'll help you through it. Tell you what, you pick an outfit you think is best and we'll help you pick an outfit that will make you look amazing.- Tamaki said as she dragged me to the tops area.
After a couple of hours at the mall we were all done shopping and as agreed I had two outfits ready, both were beautiful, I'm just not sure if I'll have the courage to wear the bolder one.
- Well, you beautiful girls, you are all going to my house now because we are going to have a girl talk and then we are going to get ready for the party together. Today I am forbidden to study and I need your help not to pick up the books. - I say when we are already outside the shopping centre ready to leave.
- That's fine with me. And you can't say no.- says Ino pointing at Tamaki and Rin. They look at each other and shrug their shoulders in agreement. And off we went. I get home and Tsuki is immediately waiting for me because he wants to eat again.
- That's impossible! The cat likes you more than me.- grumbles Tenten as I put some food in his little bowl.
- Maybe because I remember to feed him unlike some people. Well, I'll make the popcorn and you can choose a movie for us to watch. And please no mushy stuff, I'm not ready for that. - I say as I pop the popcorn in the microwave.
- No problem, let's pick a horror one so you don't sleep at night. Annabelle, this could be the one.- says Ten with the remote in her hand and the TV on Netflix.
- It's perfect for me. We're going to a party after all, we won't have time to have nightmares before bed.- I say as I hand over the popcorn and sit on the end of the couch next to Tamaki who has Ino on her other side. The others are in the armchairs we have in our small but cosy living room, which, like the rest of the house, is in light and neutral tones with small touches of colour. The hours pass quickly and after a lot of scares and a hand crushed by Tamaki my mobile phone rings making us all jump.
- Who is it?- the four of them ask together.
- It's Deimaru- I say with a sad look on my face. I was about to answer when the device is taken from my hand byTamaki.
- One, don't pick up the phone! You know he's only calling because he's drunk and alone.- when she finishes I realize that Tenten has stopped the movie and all the attention is on me now.
- But it's four in the afternoon. If I don't answer he'll be worried! What if he comes here?- I ask as I try to retrieve the mobile phone that is still ringing.
- Two, don't let him in, you have to kick him out again!- Ino says as she disconnects the attempted call.
- So, what if he just wants to talk. We can always try to work things out between us.
- Three, don't be his friend. You know you're gonna wake up in his bed in the morning. - says Ino getting up from her chair.
- And if you're under him, you'll never get over him - adds Rin while cuddling Tsuki who sleeps on her lap.
-Dear heavens! Am I going to bed with him now?! I'm just confused. He was important to me and I'm really trying to get over it but it seems so impossible.- I say with a look of sadness and release a sigh after the confession.
- So, what's up? Where is the fearless Tema I know?- asks Ten as she strokes my arm.
- I'd like to know too. I think part of her left along with Deimaru.
- No! He snatched her away from you. But you know what? You will regain and improve every bit of yourself that he took from you- Sabina says with that gift of hers of always brightening things up.
- Thank you, girls. Group hug. - I say and open my arms to welcome them.
- Sorry Tsuki, but I have to join in.- Rin says as she takes the poor cat off her lap, who wakes up scared, to join in our hug.
- Okay girls, let's finish watching the movie and then have dinner and get ready for the party of the year- says Tamaki looking confident. And so we did. It was around 5:30pm when the movie ended and I went to take a shower while the girls made dinner, something light and simple because we can't eat too much, otherwise at the first beer we'll be sick already.
- And voilà! Your refined lettuce accompanied by chicken steak marinated in French olive oil and accompanied by fine walnuts.- Tenten proudly presents her creation.
- That sounds too fancy of a presentation for a simple chicken and walnut salad.- Ino says as we start eating- But it's kind of good, so you're forgiven.
After dinner we finished getting ready, it was still early, about seven in the afternoon and we had two hours until nine, the time we arranged with Kiba. While they were getting their clothes out of their bags, I stared at the two choices lying on the bed in front of me.
- We know you'll make the right choice. Do what you think you should do, but know that we are here to help you become the Tema you were, Ino says as she hugs me from the side.
- I made a promise to myself, I know which one to choose.- I have a smile on my face as I pick up the set of tight black leather trousers and a dark red top that looks killer on me, a 100% Temari pre ex idiot. As I finish getting dressed, I am greeted with a bunch of wows and complements followed by a hug.
- Okay you gorgeous girls, all that's left is hair and make-up and we're ready to go, but can I just say we already look great. - Tamaki grabs the make-up bag she had in her purse and we all go to share the bathroom mirror which luckily is big enough. I decide to leave my hair loose and just curl it to bring out the natural wave of my hair, and after a simple but sexy make-up I was one step away from being ready, my beautiful high heels. After being properly shod I grab my black leather jacket and I'm officially ready. Too bad I have to wait for the girls. At the moment Tamaki and I are in the living room with Tsuki sleeping between us.
- You know, we're only becoming close now, but I really hope you can get over what happened to you. I've suffered in relationships too, of course not like you, but I can imagine how hard it's been. I hope you know you are a true warrior for all the steps you are taking and I will be here for you in any way I can help- she breaks the silence and I smile with the last part. What she said is true, we only became close after my break up, however I feel like she is already one of my best friends and I can count on her for anything.
- Thank you, really. And I'm sorry you had to go through those sad moments, a queen like you doesn't deserve it. I love you, you beautiful girl.- I answered her and we hug, being careful not to mess up our hair or wake up the cat.
- Well, now we just have to wait for the late ones.
- We are ready! - Ino enters with everything followed by Rin and Tenten.
- Wow you guys look gorgeous, I feel that my self-esteem has just plummeted.- I say completely sincere. The four of you look more beautiful than Greek goddesses, especially Tamaki and Rin who decided to wear the same tight dresses but in different colours, dark blue and red respectively. Ino has some light ripped jeans that really suits her with a black blouse, Sai will love it for sure. Tenten is wearing a beautiful dress in shades of white and burgundy with a perfect top covered with lace and a very short round skirt that leaves little to the imagination.
- You look just perfect. Everyone will be delighted to look at you.
- Okay, okay, I told you I don't want to enchant anyone, let's go, it's already nine o'clock, we won't arrive on time but I want to enjoy it as much as possible.
Once again, off we went. After the 5 minute drive to Kiba's house, we finally arrived. Gods help me, this is it, my first college party in over a year.
