(I've noticed I've done too much of Amy lately, so I want something where Sonic is being sweet to her :3c )
"No matter what I do! I only get into trouble and cause more problems for you! Ah…" Amy slowly allowed herself to slip to her knees. "I really am just hopeless… you and Tails are better off taking on Eggman without me…" She sniffled a little; rubbing her eyes.
Tails and Sonic both leaned back, the two of them not expecting her sudden emotional confession, and seemed shocked by it, actually.
Tails looked to Sonic, before they smiled awkwardly to one another.
"Y..you want to handle this one while I get the X-Tornado up and running, Sonic?" Tails looked uncomfortable, not sure how to address Amy in her current state, though, he probably felt Sonic could do a better job than he could. It's true that Tails did think of a thing or two to say to her, but the effect wouldn't be as long-lasting nor as meaningful to her as something from Sonic would be.
"U..uh, yeah. Leave it to me." Sonic blinked a second, before giving in and agreeing to that plan, giving a weak thumbs up to Tails's notion.
He 'phoo'd out a little bit of air, before smiling kindly to Amy, as if in a kidding way he dropped his eyelids down, seeing her pouting with her back facing them, and just waltz right over.
He sighed, shrugging and shaking his head. "You just had to wait till we got this far to break down, didn't ya?"
"I'm not breaking down!" She flipped her head around, looking a little offended at hearing that, before then whining forward and leaning her head up again, closing her eyes. "I just hate that I can't change my reality, that's all." she lowered her head once again, seeming defeated. "Ohh… you wouldn't understand."
"Hmm…" He let his smile drop just slightly, but still seemed in good spirits, as he put his hands behind himself, and paced around her. "My, my… I haven't seen you this gloomy since forever! You've really let yourself go."
"Emm… you're not helping." Amy gave him a cute glare, not liking his form of 'cheering her up' at all.
He gave her a big grin, having walked all the way in front of her. "Sorry 'bout that, it's just…" he gestured a hand out in front of her. "The Amy I know never backs down to doubt. Nor surrenders so easily to disappointment."
Amy's head suddenly shot up, looking directly at him, as she perked up a little more. "H-huh?"
"The Amy I know… well, what do I not have to say? More than anything, if she puts her mind to it, she sticks to it. All the way through!" He tapped his head to the side, and then formed a fist to land gently into the palm of his other. "Amy.. you're not one to sit down and cry,… well, at least not all the time. You cry to let go of what's holding you back, and get up ten times stronger." he held up a fist, and nodded his head.
Amy watched intently, listening to everything he said, every line, every word, as her face scrunched up more as touched tears began to form in the place of sorrow.
"Sonic…"
"So don't cry, Amy. There's no need too! As long as you've got me around-Ah, and Tails, you'll never have to worry about danger! And if I'm not mistaken… I should never fear when your near either… isn't that right?" Sonic scratched his head, purposefully acting as though he was remembering her infamous line, which really, he honestly knew by heart. I mean… after all the times she's said it, how could he forget it?
He smiled sweetly down to her, an expression often times rare to see from Sonic, a rather tender side.
"Come on, Amy. Moping around won't do you… or anyone any good." He knelt down, offering her his hand. "And even if you do get caught… again and again… over,… heh, and over. Then that just means I have to keep saving ya. Over and over, again and again. And honestly? Ha! I don't mind! It keeps life interesting. Don't you think?"
Amy stared into his green eyes… lost for a moment at the meaning, and contemplating how kind he suddenly looked towards her.
In all the world… there was nothing, nothing but his eyes upon hers.
At least,… that's how it felt for her… just then… right now…
"Do you mind… if I save you a billion times over, Amy? I never once thought less of you for it. I actually kinda like how you never keep things boring! Is that so bad?" He winked, being charming, and showing her he really didn't mind rescuing her. "As long as you're not hurt, it's all fun and games! So cheer up, Amy! I'll always have your back."
That was it. His little 'pick-me-up' strategy had hit it's mark!
"Sonic… Oh, Soniiiic!" Amy leaped into his arms, making him flail them a little, surprised by her sudden take to action, and just shyly laughed as she nudged her face up beneath and to the side of his own, crying out her joy in hearing him say such things.
"I… I never knew you thought those things about me!" She cried out.
"Heh-heh. Heh.." Sonic kept smiling nervously, not entirely liking the closeness, but not rejecting it either.
This was how Amy showed how much she cared, and who was he to tell or say that that was wrong?
"If it really means that much to you, Amy. Then I'll make sure you're never kidnapped again!" His cheeky nature made her laugh, and she nodded silently at that.
"I'll hold you to that, then." she grinned, beaming from ear to ear at hearing him say that. "Then you'll keep me safe… forever and ever."
"Huh?" Sonic looked down, seeing she had stopped squirming all over him, and slowly rose up, before gently rubbing her head, and nodded down to her. "If that's what you want… then I'll take care of you,.. Amy." he stopped, feeling that may be a bit much, and looked up and away, rethinking that a moment.
He pulled her a little away, smiling apologetically. "I mean… I have been all this time, right? Who's to say that should end, right?"
"Emm… you better. And you're right. I better be right here in your arms, Sonic The Hedgehog! Right here!" she hugged him, keeping her eyes closed as she pressed her head against his chest, savoring the moment as long as she could. Her heart was full. She hadn't felt this feeling in a long time… she worried she grew out of it.
"Wha..ah-ahhh." Sonic still didn't like all the intimacy, but just smiled sheepishly, laughing awkwardly, before he removed his hand from her head and turned away.
Scratching his nose, he looked up to avoid eye contact if she happened to turn and look up at his expression.
"Heh…heh… forever..? You say..?"
She twitched under him.
"Is that a problem?" her eyes turned dangerous, as she rose her head up to a death glare at him.
He flinched, and waved his hands out in front of him. "N-not at all! It just.. seems like an awfully long time to hold someone.." he sweat dropped.
Fire started to rise from her being.
"Oh…" he blinked, innocently.
"Soooonniiicc…"
"Heh… why the voice change?" He twitched the side of his lip up, an unsure smile.
"Soooonic! Ammmy! The Plane's all ready to go!" Tails called out from afar.
Sonic turned his head to the sound, "Opph! Times up!"
"Sonic!" Amy cried out, still upset, but he had already gotten up and swooped a hand under her, picking her up bridal style.
"Sorry, Amy! No time to keep talking now." He turned to where Tails was, and looked determined to continue along with the adventure. "Let's go!"
"Sonic! Don't ignore me!" She cried out, hitting him with the sides of her hands as she lightly beat upon his head, making him stagger back a bit, before shaking his head to remove her hands from landing anywhere on it's surface.
"A-Amy! We don't have time to play around! We've gotta go!" He heard the plane and raised his head from ducking to dodge or guard a bit against Amy's blows.
Though they weren't very powerful anyway… she seemed to mostly be scolding him.
"Here I come! Sonic!" Tails was flying directly to him.
"Heh." Sonic smirked, and tightened his grip on Amy, bending his knees. "Right!"
"Ah.." Amy paused in her light hits, feeling the grip tighten from Sonic's hands around her and blushed slightly; remembering the feeling and wrapping her arms instinctively around him.
She closed her eyes as he jumped up, and landed on the plane.
Bending down by his side, she took a peek through the air current, and watched his face be blown by the wind, looking cocky as ever, his game/adventure face on, and ready for more action!
She smiled, 'he's so handsome…' she swooned slightly under his arm, which was keeping a protective and firm, but gentle downward press on her back, making sure she didn't get flung off by the wind's power on the plane's wing.
She smiled, bending her head down lower.
"Huh?" Sonic turned to her, "What's wrong now, Amy?" he blinked.
She started to giggle, before looking up at him. "Oh, nothing!~" she cooed, seeing as he was keeping his promise.
"Hmm?" Sonic looked confused.
His arm was still holding her, as it probably would, forever… and forever more.
"I'll just never figure you out, Amy."
She giggled more.
"I'm not hard to understand… once you get used to holding me~" she bat her eyes, making him lean away slightly, the hold on her wavering ever so lightly.
"Eggman's tower! Here we go, guys! This is the last fight!" Tails announced.
The two looked to each other before turning to look dead ahead, seeming ready for anything. Sonic's hold tightened once again, and he actually pulled her more towards him, making her look up a second, and realize it was mostly instinct for him as well.
She smiled lovingly at that.
She wasn't the only one that had reflexes from years of being together… like this.
The plane dipped down, and missiles and gunfire sprung up on all sides, as Tails took no expense to take them right into the chaos!
"Here we go!"
Sonic and Amy's grins matched, as they prepared themselves.
"Prepare for another rough landing!"
(So cute! So fluffy~ I like the idea of Sonic always being there for Amy! Heheee~ Hope you enjoy!)
