A/N-: Hi guys my first story, so do help me if you can about how to get better. i currently have about 7 chapters completed and working on the 8th.

So, while the map of the one-piece world that I will be using shows alot of islands there aren't really many in the 4 blues. I firmly believe that the only major islands have been marked(in the 4 blues as well as grandline) and the size of the 4 blues is severely scaled down to show all of them in the map. So, in my story small islands both populated and not are littered at various distances from each other in the grandline and the 4 blues. I will name these islands randomly as well as their culture will be chosen randomly if they were to be relevant oin the story. Also, I will take it as such that each Blue is named for their location in terms of direction. So, North Blue is in north and East Blue is in east. This also helps in directions until we enter grandline.

POV CHANGE~

Meanwhile, on an island approximately 60 miles west of the main island of Sorbet Kingdom, a mother just finished giving birth to a baby boy. One did not have to look closely to find resemblance between mother and son. The newborn was practically a clone of his mother in terms of looks. Both had the same honey brown hair and the same light skin tone. While one could not see the newborns eyes, argument could be made that it would match his mothers' amber brown colored eyes.

The midwives congratulated the mother and handed the child to her covered in a small blanket. They quickly excused themselves seeing the exhaustion in the mothers' eyes as well as the entry of an old man.

"Eleanor! Are you alright?" the old man asked.

"I'm fine father. Here, hold your grandson for a bit."

"Hah! Look at 'im. Looks just like me. He'll be a lady killer in the future for sure."

"Looks like I'll have to beat the girls chasing him away with sticks."

He quieted down and looked at his grandson sleeping peacefully in his arms and said after a few moments," You don't have much time, do you Eleanor? Every time I see you, you seem to be paler than before."

He passed the boy back to the arms of his mother. She looked at her son with a look full of love and sadness. "No father, the doctor said I have a little more than a year left after my pregnancy. The pregnancy strained my body too much."

"A year, huh?" the man looked at the scene before him sadly.

A few more minutes were spent like this before the woman suddenly smiled and said, "How about we leave this conversation for later and name my beautiful baby boy, huh?"

"Hyahyahyahyahyahya… we forgot to name him, huh? So then, what will it be?"

"Cliff. Cliff Calloway. That shall be his name."

TIME SKIP- 6 YEARS

POV CHANGE~ CLIFF

I'm bored. This is nothing new. I wake up way too early and have to wait for other kids to get up so that I could play with them. I blame grandpa for that. He always makes me wake up so early whenever he's home that it's hard to sleep more now.

It's been 2 months since he's come by. He's always off to his duty in the Marines. He's a Rear Admiral or so he told me.

I guess I'll go to aunty Sara's house for now. She's always up this early. Don't know why though. Maybe she'll teach me something new today. She's been teaching me how to read and write for so long maybe she'll teach me something new today if I ask.

Her house should be right around this corner… oh! Why is she looking around? Now she's waving at me. Why's she doing that?

"Kiddo! There you are. Come on, follow me." She said.

"Where are we going? Are you going to teach me something new today, aunty?!"

"Sure am!" she grins.

"Really? What am I learning?"

"How to skin an animal." She says while her grin widens.

"Skin an animal? What's that?"

"You can't just eat an animal you hunted just like that; you know? You won't be able to eat the skin. You gotta take the skin off and then cook the animal, before eating."

"Whoa! Cool! So, I'll have to learn how to hunt and cook too?"

"Yup! But not today. I'll teach you how to hunt and cook later. First you gotta learn to skin an animal. We'll have lunch in the forest too!"

"I can finally enter the forest? So coooool! Now we won't have to play at just the outer trees."

POV CHANGE~

Sara looks at him amused and says, "All other kids here other than a few are older than you, they've been able to hunt and go in the forest for atleast a year. You know that, right?"

"I know that! Just you see I'll be able to enter the forest alone soon enough."

"Sure, you will kiddo, sure you will."

Sara spends the rest of the day teaching Cliff to skin animals. She made him practice on small animals she hunted with the sword she carried.

It took Cliff more a few months to correctly skin an animal. Sometimes he would cut too deep and damage the muscles. Sometimes too little force was applied. By the time they moved on to cooking, he could barely skin an animal correctly with some errors mixed in.

When they moved onto cooking, he first had to learn to gut the animals. He puked a lot in the start unable to look at the scene in front of him. When they actually got to cooking the meat, he would burn them. He burnt more than a hundred animals that he had to eat as meals before he learnt to take it off of fire on time.

His grandfather finally came by around his 7th birthday. His birthday was spent playing with his friends all day and spending the night with his grandfather who told him stories of the seas just like he had done plenty times before when home with his grandson.

He told him about the seas, how adventure awaited those brave enough to face it. How pirates and marines sailed all over the worlds.

How they would fight and one side would win and escape and evade capture or capture depending on who won. (Though obviously exaggerating the marine victories)

How every island on the seas was different in so many ways but was the same in so many ways.

How most of the islands weren't even populated by humans. How so many different animals and different species lived all over the world. How different they were to humans and yet so common all over.

How one could find treasures beyond their expectations or could lose it all.

How the weather changed all over the grandline at a moment's notice.

The little boy was fascinated beyond doubt by the stories his grandfather told him. A new fire slowly started burning in his eyes.

That night, for the first time he dreamed of himself sailing in the seas. Having adventures with unknown faceless people that laughed and fought alongside him.
