A/N Hey all and welcome to the next installment of Pokemon Omega Loud! In this chapter Lincoln and Lana will call home and Lincoln will confront his family. I hope you all will sit back and enjoy the latest chapter.
Lincoln was in shock. After a year with no contact with his family, after a year of being stranded in this dimension, one of his sisters was currently crying into his chest.
May was confused. She recognised the little blonde girl from the descriptions Lincoln had given her of his many sisters, but how had she shown up in Hoenn?
Wally just looked on in silence. He had no idea what was going on, but based on Lincoln and May's reactions and how the little girl was clinging onto Lincoln, something important was happening.
"Lana? How did you get here?" Lincoln repeated.
Lana struggled to regain her composure and after a few more minutes she managed to calm herself enough to talk.
"L..Lisa *sniff* b..built another *sniff* watch s..so I c..could l…look for you," she said.
"But how did she know where I was!?" he asked
"She b…built a p..program to track her…chips..across…dimensions," came the reply.
Lincoln sighed. It looked like his theory about Lisa putting tracking chips in the family was correct. With a small groan Lincoln stood up and carefully put Lana on the ground where she clung to his leg. Looking at May and Wally he gave them an apologetic look.
"Do you guys mind going on ahead? I think I need to stay and talk with my sister for a bit" he said.
May nodded, "Take your time. I'll handle everything."
With that she and Wally turned and headed back towards the Petalburg Gym. Wally looked over his shoulder at the white haired boy as they walked.
"Ms. May?" he asked, "What was that all about?"
May sighed, "Let's just say it's some family drama. Lincoln should be the one to tell you."
Meanwhile, Lincoln did his best to comfort his sister and after a few minutes she had calmed down. While this happened Lincoln looked at the Treecko clinging to his sister's back. Taking his pokedex from his pocket he pointed it at the little lizard.
Treecko, the Wood Gecko Pokemon, female. Treecko has small hooks on the bottom of its feet that enable it to scale vertical walls. This Pokémon attacks by slamming foes with its thick tail.
Curiosity getting the best of him, Lincoln turned towards his little sister.
"Lana." he began, "How did you get a Pokemon?"
Lana sniffled a few times before explaining how she arrived in Littleroot town and how she met Professor Birch who gave her the Treecko so she would be protected from wild Pokemon.
"And shortly after that I met this little gray puppy Pokemon that was hungry, so I gave him some food. After that I kept walking until I found you." she finished.
"Gray puppy Pokemon?" Lincoln asked. Pulling out his Pokedex, Lincoln looked up Poochyena and showed the entry to Lana.
"Was this it?" he asked.
"Yeah, but he had three scratches on his face." she replied.
"Three scratches?" he asked, a memory sparking in his mind.
Moments later a low yipping noise came from nearby and the two siblings turned towards the sound. Running up behind them was a Poochyena with the aforementioned scratch marks. Lincoln immediately recognised it as one of the pokemon who had attacked Professor Birch that morning.
Quickly getting between it and Lana, Lincoln got ready to protect his sister. Lana on the other hand, smiled broadly when she saw the Poochyena and ran to embrace it.
"Hey boy! Did you follow me? How are you?" she said.
The Poochyena gave a few happy barks as Lana scratched behind his ears, Lincoln looking on in amazement.
Seeing how happy the two were, Lincoln came up with an idea.
"Lana, do you know how to catch Pokemon?" he asked.
Lana looked at her brother. "Not really. Professor Birch just gave me a brief explanation of what Pokemon are, what battling is, and then he gave me Lizzy."
"Well, do you want to catch that Poochyena?" said Lincoln.
"I do. But I don't have any of those pokeball things." said Lana
"You can have one of mine," said Lincoln.
Lana smiled and looked at the poochyena. "What do you say boy? Do you want to come with me?"
The Poochyena yipped in happiness. Lana took the Pokeball that Lincoln offered and tossed it at the Poochyena. Before the ball made contact, Poochyena leapt up and met the ball in mid-air before being drawn into the ball.
As the two siblings watched, the ball wiggled once, twice, then a third time before locking signifying a successful capture.
Lana walked over and picked up the pokeball. "Welcome to the family, Scar." she said.
"Scar?" asked Lincoln.
"Yeah, after all he has those scars on his face." said Lana
Lincoln winced as he remembered why the Poochyena had those facial scars.
"Ooof. Yeah sorry about that." he said. Looking up at the sky he noticed that the sun was beginning to set.
"We should get going, it's getting late."
With that Lincoln and Lana started to make their way towards the Petalburg Gym.
-=o=-
A few minutes later the two siblings had reached the Gym where they saw May, Norman, and Wally standing outside the entrance. As they approached, the other three trainers turned to greet the approaching duo.
"Ah Lincoln, there you are!" said Norman. He then noticed the little girl walking alongside the white haired boy. "Oh? Who's this?"
Lincoln then turned to Lana, "This is my little sister, Lana." he said.
"Oh well it's nice to meet you, young lady." said Norman. Turning back to Lincoln he spoke, "You're just in time to see Wally off before he heads to Verdanturf."
Lincoln turns to Wally and holds out his hand "It was nice meeting you, Wally."
"I hope we see each other again," said May.
"I do too," Wally replied. " I can't thank either of you enough for helping me catch a Pokemon."
With that, Wally turns and heads back towards his home where his family was waiting to see him off.
Lincoln and May waved goodbye until Wally was no longer in sight before Norman regained their attention.
"It's getting late, so you three are more than welcome to spend the night at the gym, before you continue on in the morning."
"Thanks, Dad/ Mister/ Norman." said the trio.
Norman then led the group into the gym where he showed them the living quarters that he stayed in whenever he was unable to make it back home. After a quick meal and a shower Norman put Lincoln in one room and the two girls in another (there was no way in HELL Norman was going to let the boy sleep in the same room as his daughter while he was around) before everyone went to sleep.
The next morning, just before the group left, Norman handed May a package containing a brand new PokeNav device. After a brief discussion Lana volunteered to be the group's navigator and after showing her how the device works, gave possession of the device to her.
After saying their goodbyes the trio left the gym and started to make their way towards Route 104 where Lincoln planned to teach Lana how to battle and catch wild Pokemon. As they walked Lana let Lincoln know what had been going on with the family while he had been away.
Lincoln felt a bit guilty that his actions had affected his family so much, but he still held a grudge over his prior treatment.
When Lana finished the explanation, she suddenly gasped before pulling out the Dimensional Watch.
"Oh fudge!" she exclaimed, "I forgot I was supposed to call home as soon as I managed to find you!"
Before Lincoln could respond Lana pushed a button on the watch and a holographic display popped up as the call connected.
Meanwhile, in Royal Woods, the Loud family hadn't slept a wink since Lana left. They had spent the time waiting for her to call pacing around Lisa and Lily's room. Several of the girls had quickly begun to lose their patience, most notably Lola and Lynn. After almost twenty four hours after Lana's departure the two girls were clearly on their last nerve.
"How much longer is this going to take!" shouted Lola
"This is soooooo dull!" said Lynn, "How long can it take to find Lincoln!?"
Lisa gave an exasperated sigh, clearly having answered those questions numerous times over the past few hours.
"As I have repeatedly stated," she began, "If the world Lincoln is in is the same size as ours, then it could take Lana weeks, maybe even months, to find our brother. I tried to decrease the duration as much as I could by transporting Lana as close as possible but there are many variables that could alter the time frame. We just have to be patient."
No sooner had she spoken, when her computer began to chime as a message flashed across the screen. The Louds stopped what they were doing and gathered around the computer as Lisa opened the message, seeing that someone was trying to contact them.
Lisa connected the call and a picture appeared on screen, showing Lana standing on the street in what looked like a small city.
"Hi guys!" said Lana
"Lana, are you okay?" said Rita
"Did you find Lincoln?!" asked Luan
Lana looked off to the side before turning the camera in the direction she was looking. Standing there looking a bit annoyed was Lincoln, as well as a brown haired girl about the same age.
"Lincoln!" shouted the family.
Lincoln just gave them all a deadpan stare before responding with a bored "Hey."
Soon the family was all shouting over each other trying to be the first to apologize to their sibling/son. The whole time Lincoln continued to stare with an annoyed look while Lana just looked embarrassed. Before long the family quieted down, allowing individual members to speak.
"Lincoln, we are so sorry for how we treated you!" said Luna.
"As soon as you come home we'll do anything we can to make it up to you, Sport!" said Lynn Sr.
The remaining family members expressed similar statements, but were interrupted when Lincoln cut across them with one statement that shocked them into silence.
"I'm not coming home," said Lincoln.
"WHAT!?" shouted the family.
-=o=-
Back in Petalburg City, Lana and May watched as Lincoln's family burst into shouts of confusion. May thought that she could understand why Lincoln didn't want to return home, while Lana was just as confused as her family.
"What do you mean you aren't coming home!" shouted Lori.
"Lincoln Loud! You listen to me right now young man!" said an irate Rita. "You and Lana need to come home this instant!"
Lincoln just looked at his mother with an angry look on his face.
"No." he said, "I'm not coming home just so you all can mistreat me and call me a loser just because I haven't won anything in my life!"
The family grew quiet. "We don't think that, Linky." Leni said quietly.
Lincoln looked at his family. "I heard you. All of you." he said, "Heck if Lana hadn't called you all I wouldn't even be talking to any of you over what you said back then."
"Well why aren't you mad at Lana?" asked Lucy, though she thought she might know why.
"Because, unlike certain sisters who have certain secrets they don't want to get out, Lana actually stood up for me."
"Besides," he continued, "I'm doing something important and I made a promise to myself that if/when I return home it will be after I finish what I'm doing."
"What's so important that you have to stay in another dimension?" asked Lisa.
Lincoln grumbled a bit before explaining to his family about Pokemon, the Pokemon League, and his plans to win it.
At first the family didn't believe the boy, but after introducing them to May (who the Loud sisters immediately started squealing at the thought that Lincoln had met a girl) Lincoln, Lana, and May released their Pokemon making the family quiet down in amazement.
"But sweety," said Rita, "You don't have to prove yourself to us. We all agree that we were wrong, so why won't you believe us?"
Lincoln sighed. "I believe you are sorry for your actions, but you have all said that before during other incidents. I can't trust you all to actually stand by your apologies when you've proven time after time that you'll continue to treat me horribly whenever some new inconvenience takes place."
Lincoln then looked at his hand, before making a fist and gaining a look of determination. He looked up at his family before continuing.
"Besides." he said, "I made a promise to myself that I will win the League Challenge. I want to prove to myself that I'm just as special as each of you and that I can do things without your help."
The family was taken aback. They had never seen so much determination in the Loud boy's eyes before. The Pokemon thing had clearly lit a fire under him and it was clear he was going to go through with it no matter their protestations.
The family looked at each other. A silent conversation took place before Rita turned back to the monitor.
"Okay," she said. "If you feel so strongly about this Pokemon League thing, then we won't stop you. We only ask that you keep an eye on your sister and that you be careful."
"We also want you to call us whenever you can, ok sport" said Lynn Sr.
Lincoln nodded. "That's fine by me."
May stepped forward, "And he won't be alone in this Mr. and Mrs. Loud. I'll also be there to keep an eye on both him and Lana."
Rita smiled at the brunette girl. "Thank you, May. We're so glad that Lincoln has made such a great friend as you."
"And such a cute one to boot." said Luan with an eyebrow wiggle.
Both May and Lincoln turned red from embarrassment much to the sisters' delight.
After making some more small talk Lincoln and Lana made to end the call before they were interrupted.
"Wait, Elder Brother!" said Lisa.
Lincoln turned back to the screen with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes Lisa?" he asked.
"If at all possible," she began, "Would you allow me to be able to study your Pokemon?"
"What do you mean?" he asked
"If possible I would request that you send some Pokemon to this dimension via the watch so that I may have a chance to study them in person. I promise no harm will come to them."
"Oooh Ooh!" said Lola, "And I would like to play with some cute Pokemon as well!"
After a few more similar statements from his sisters, Lincoln thought for a few minutes before responding.
"Okay." he said, "I'll send you some Pokemon every now and then, but I want you all to promise that you'll take care of them and I will want them back after a couple days ok?" He then turned to Lisa and gave her a stern glare. "And no dangerous experiments, do you hear Lisa? If any of our Pokemon get hurt while with you then I'll send Lana home and cut ties with you all permanently. Understood?"
The family gave a collective gulp before agreeing. Soon the call ended and Lincoln turned to Lana and May.
"Now that that's out of the way" he said, "Let's head to Route 104. I did promise a certain someone I'd teach her how to catch some Pokemon after all."
Lana grinned and gave a cheer of happiness while May nodded and gave a small smile.
With that the trio made their way through the city towards Route 104, where they would then head to Petalburg Woods, on their way to Rustboro City.
And Rustboro Gym.
A/N I decided while writing this chapter to push back Lincoln teaching Lana how to battle and catch Pokemon to the next chapter as I felt that if I had included it here it would have had too much happening in just one chapter. In response to a couple of messages, yes this story WILL include Mega Evolution and Primal Reversion. I'm not 100% on having secret bases since the group will constantly be on the move and won't have many chances to revisit prior locations.
I will also be having the Louds interact with Pokemon at various points but they won't keep them like in some stories. Basically the Louds will serve as a sorta daycare like situation so that the Pokemon don't just waste away in the PC boxes never to be seen again.
Anyways, Next chapter Lana will learn to catch and battle Pokemon and the group will began to make their way through Petalburg Woods. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and I can't wait to see ya'll again in the next installment.
Also I've realized that I haven't given May much dialogue in the past few chapters so I'm going to try my best to have all three have equal parts to play.
