I was thinking of a prompt that there is going to be a half hour special of Sonic Boom that features time travel where Eggman sends Sonic to the future and he meets the older version of the team, but they're angry at him thinking he abandoned them! What do you think Mayra? :3

Well, Awesome. I think it's time to pull out the ol'creativity machine and get a crackin'!

I have done something with Sonic traveling in the future before, but I'll try and add a new twist to your idea ;) hope this is good! -crosses fingers-

(here we go! :D)

Welcome kids! it's the special half hour episode of Sonic BOOM! on Cartoonnetwork! -dancing C and N box with legs- (I never did understand that…-; )

Sonic and the team are in the thick of battle with trying to save some kidnapped school kids being forced to take 'Eggman's School of OBEYING' against their wills as Eggman tries to teach them how to surrender to his 'merciful' dictator-ing rule.

As Sonic goes for a kill-shot, a kid accidentally bumps into a machine, "Opps." he puts his hand to his mouth, as Eggman looks back and freaks out.

"No! You fool! Don't touch that-!"

A huge beam shots forward and reveals a portal, as Sonic is stuck in mid-air, and after seeing it, loses his confident face and starts flailing in the air, rotating his arms backwards to try and change course, so to speak. "Woah-woah-woah-wwooooahhh! Tails! Amy! Knuckles! Help-!" he gets sucked in, as the team rushes to get to him but finds out their too late.

After getting Eggman pinned down on his 'teacher's desk' and having the eaten apple core fall off with the slamming of his body against it, Knuckles held up a fist and waited for Tails's call.

"Where's Sonic, Eggman?" Tails glared, leaning up on the desk over him. "Talk! Or we have our ways…" he moved back and folded his arms, still glaring, as Amy pounded her hammer into her open hand.

"Okay, Alright, I get it! You're pathetic death threats for your friend have moved me, cause I'm totally not soiling my pants right now-Eieee!" he flinched at Knuckles threatening to hit him with his fist again, as he once had shaken his hands out in front of him to beg them to stop.

"Heh, just tells us where Sonic is, old man!" Knuckles cried out.

"Or you'll be sorry!" Amy held her hammer over her shoulder, ready to swing too, if needs be.

"Geez, you really 'hammer in' on this interrogation stuff, don't you?" Eggman leaned up to get a look at Amy, gesturing his hands out to her and questioning their tactics. "So very un-hero of you-AHH!" he saw Tails hook up two red electric clips to the top of his eye wear.

"Metal and electricity… I think we're both smart enough to know what 'electrifying' consequences come from that." Tails leaned on the desk, smiling and looking up as he 'nonchalantly' threatened Eggman some more.

"Woah, I'm now impressed. Heh, heh. You really drive a hard bargon, but I think I'll take the deal." Eggman nervously laughed, growing a bit frantic. "I made that machine to communicate with my future self. I never actually sent any LIVING thing through, though. Only some notes I blasted, haha! I never actually knew if he got them… that future me, considering I never get a reply back… Oh how evil, I'm even ignoring my own emails! hahaha!" Eggman laughed, kicking his feet before Knuckles glared down at him and he immediately tried to remain still, gulping as he shivered slightly. "Right, well, ehem. You have everything you need to know, haha."

"Not quite…" Tails looked down, worried, and put a hand to his chin. "We still have no idea how to get Sonic back here… He could be trapped in the future!" Tails cried out, as the team looked to him, worriedly…

"That can't be!" Amy cried out, clinging to her hammer as she looked to the machine and looked sorrowfully to it. "Sonic… he must be so… so alone right now…" she softly stated.

"WOOOOAHHHH!" Sonic came crashing down, head first of course, from the sky into some messed up pile of rubbish, and shook his head free of it. "blablablablah, huh..?" After shaking his head, he picked up some trash and saw it to be pieces of paper, old and tattered, as if time had just let it sit in rain and mud. "Uhh…"

"Let's go, team!"

"Right behind you!"

"All for one!"

"And one for all! Especially me!"

"Sonic… Must you ruin the fun every time?"

"Don't complain, Amy. I am having fun. Just seeing that face of disappointment on you makes my day every time."

"Ugh."

Sonic bent down, afraid of getting noticed, "Sonic?" he raised an eyebrow, as some legs flashed through and by him, the papers all moving with the wind speed and blowing all on top of him, so he remained unnoticed.

"Hurry up, Tails! You're falling behind!"

"Just a second…." Sonic saw a hand bend down and pick up a paper, just a little ways in front of him, as he gasped and bent his head back, hiding under some stacks of paper.

"Tails..?" he quietly whispered, as he took a chance to take a peek.

A strapping young man stood straight after bending over, looking over the scraps of paper, and putting a hand to his chin. That was something Tails usually did!

Sonic's eyes searched out of curiosity for how this Tails looked older and different in subtle ways. His tails were more longer and bushy, his googles, now different, still were on his head, and he had two extra belts around his waist, instead of one. He rolled up the paper and placed it in one of the bags on one of his belts to the side.

"Coming! Be right there-HEY! Don't leave me behind! Guys! Ugh… you all never change." The future Tails spun his tails and flew off to find his friends, as Sonic slowly scurried out of the pile of papers, and ran up to the top the hill…

"Woooahhh…" The camera pans from Sonic's face to behind him, as it shows a wide landscape of cities and odd structures of great magnitude, as he gawks a little at it, and his sense of adventure makes him smile. He whistles, "Now that's new." he's now grinning with curiosity, and itching to get closer for a better view.

Sonic ends up finding his future self, and team, but doesn't have a very good view of them, and tries to get closer. Their celebrating another victory with soda pops, french fries, and chilidogs.

He ends up stumbling and they see him, as Tails quickly calls out to 'catch him!' as Sonic hurries to get away.

Him and his future self get in a race of sorts, cat and mouse, as Sonic's future self ends up impressing him and making past Sonic feel his awesomeness only grows with age.

They take 'the imposter' back to their new headquarters they founded together. A team of heroes who get hired for pretty much anything, and it's their only way of pay, so they try and keep themselves busy with it.

"You say you jumped through a portal?" future Tails asked, after letting Sonic go from his binds when he confirmed Sonic not to be a clone or robot.

"It's as I already said…" Sonic seemed annoyed, and a bit frustrated that they weren't believing him too. "I jumped to finally trash Egghead and I got sucked into that strange whirly thing." he motioned his finger in the air in a swirl, and then folded his arms and showed off his attitude by kicking his feet up and crossing them.

Future Sonic looked up, as if trying to remember… "Wait… THAT day?" he asked, and looked to Tails. "I think he's telling the truth. I do remember…Uh." he suddenly grew nervous and looked worried, "UHHH.." he turned to his friends.

"What's wrong, Sonic?" Amy asked.

"That's the day you guys thought I left for 3 years!"

"…3 YEARS?!" past Sonic jumped up. "Come again!? I can't be gone for 3 years! There's gotta be a way to-!"

"Time would flow differently for us and the past… a day could be a year, if the cortex of the time manipulator was being controlled and manipulated by an unnatural force than time itself would-!"

"English, Tails. We're only the common folk, remember?" Sonic teased, bowing his head slightly as if being 'proud' to be of normal intellect stature.

"O-oh right…" Tails took a moment to think, "What I mean to say is… a new time line could be created with a new time flow of it's own! Parallel to our time steam but similarly re-" suddenly the ground shook. "Reconstructed! I was wrong! It's THIS time flow that's being al-al-alterrreddd!" the whole world around past Sonic was suddenly pulled into a vortex around them as Sonic was uneffected by it's pull. He quickly got off the chair as it shook and went spiraling into the vortex.

"W-what's going on!?"

"Sonic! L-listen to me!" Tails was holding on to the side of the table as he was being pulled into the vortex behind him.

"Tails!" Sonic grabbed his hand, keeping it down.

"This time is now being overwritten by whatever our Sonic was remembering! If you can find your way home, we may still be able to save our timeline! If not… your entire future will be overridden by the next following actions you make!"

"W-what!? That's insane! Tails,… I… I don't want to be gone for 3 years!"

"I don't know what else to say…AH!" Tails was losing his grip, as the portal pulled him closer. "Just do what you feel is right, Sonic. You always do pull through.. in the end." he smiled, as Sonic looked heartbroken at seeing Tails suddenly dragged into the portal. "I believe in you! We all do! Soooniicc!…." his voice faded, as the universe re-set itself in an instant around him.

"N-no! Tails! You're wrong, buddy.. I don't know what to do! I-!" he shielded his eyes with his arms as the universe reformed, nothing effecting him, as he stood in a room, barren and empty, and slowly walked outside.

Knuckles was tapping his foot and drinking something out of a mug, wearing some straps around his arms and a bag tied around his leg, as he had a headband now too, tied up in the back and having two strings hang down.

"Uhh… Knuckles?" Sonic leaned forward, as Knuckles looked up.

"Oh, hey Sonic." he looked back at the newspaper he was reading,…

"….!" Knuckles turned back after a moment, his eyes widened as he started freaking out and leaning away from Sonic. "SONIC! SONIC! AHHH! GHOST! IT'S A GHOST!"

"W-what? Knuckles! Calm down, I'm not a-"

"HOLOGRAM!? HOLOGRAM!" Knuckles quickly jumped to another conclusion.

"Wait, what? How..? No, no. Knuckles! It's me! Sonic! You're pal..?" Sonic tried to calm him down as he finally took a few breathes, and then glared at him.

"You… Where have you been all these years, huh!?" Knuckles poked Sonic harshly, as Sonic stepped back.

"Ow, hey, that-…K-Knuckles?" he stepped back, his foot work awkward as Knuckles looked pretty upset, walking forward with a glare on his face.

"We were gonna wait for you, you know? But you NEVER. CAME. BACK!" Knuckles got right up in front of Sonic, making Sonic fall back at how upfront he was.

"W-woah! Calm down, Knuckles! I think I time traveled and-"

"Save your words, Sonic." Knuckles cracked his fist. "For they may be your last…"

"Knuckles..?" Sonic heart felt like it was being torn in two again, as Knuckles got ready to smash.

"I'm done with excuses… I won't be played again!" Sonic ran before Knuckles could hit him down, and looked around him.

The world was different, completely different from the other timeline he had been in. He was reliving the events the future him had remembered, but whether he followed that same line of events or not, would define how his future would come to past…

Sonic than ran into Amy, who was at first thrilled to see him, only to jump right into combat about how she waited for him for 3 years, and when he never showed up, felt abandoned and betrayed by him.

"Amy… I'm sorry. I never meant to-"

"Zip it! I'm not letting you get away this time.. haha.. I'm going to keep you here… and you're going to finally stay put and love me! HAAA!" she slammed her hammer down, it looked like her quills were longer but messed up, sticking out at different directions. Was she… crazy!?

"Amy, listen to me! I'm.." seeing he couldn't reach her in her crazed state, he sighed and decided to run for now. "I'm sorry." he didn't quite understand everything, but he knew she didn't take him leaving out of the blue all that well either.

"Y-you're running from me again? Heheh… what now? My hair's not good enough for you, my eyes too CRAZZZZY for ya?! Ha…ha… Get back here.. you're going to stay with me, right here, and we'll smile and laugh.. just like the old times.. hehe… JUST. LIKE. THEN!" she tried to pursue him, her eyes swirling around when she mentioned them, and touching her unbrushed hair when she talked about it too.

Sonic ran into Tails, who looked wide-eyed at him, and saved him and hid him from Amy's sight.

"Oh, thank goodness. I'm glad you're at least not mad at-OFFPH!" Tails hit Sonic in the face, and then swun around to kick him in the gut, having him fall down.

"That's for not leaving me with ANY clue as to how to get you BACK!" Tails's face looked as if he'd had it with Sonic, and it also looked very hurt too… "I searched, and searched for an answer as to why you left Sonic! But I couldn't find you… no matter what I did…" he looked down, and away for a moment. "I thought… it was us, you know? What else could it mean?"

"..Tails,… I accidentally went through a portal. How does that mean I was abandoning you all?" Sonic got up, looking confused, and then put a hand to Tails's shoulder. "Buddy… I would never just up and leave you guys like that… You know I care too much about you guys to leave you without my awesomene-… I mean, without a friend around to see you through." he smiled kindly, as Tails looked back up at him.

"….Portal? What portal?"

Later on, Sonic learned that this was an alternate universe created through Sonic splitting time and space ITSELF! And Tails explained that this wasn't even the proper timeline, and that Sonic was from another universe parallel to this one."

"So many parallels." Sonic placed a hand to his head, confused, as Tails typed in some stuff on the computer.

"Heh heh, yeah. But this is kinda cool for me, you know? Another Sonic.. one that cares about us… I kinda wish you were OUR Sonic, you know?" Tails weakly smiled, as Sonic felt bad for him.

"…I'm sorry, pal."

"Eh, don't worry about it. Knowing that another me out there has you as a friend? Well.." he tossed a tool he picked up back into his toolbox on the ground. "It makes me feel a bit better, you know?" he smiled to Sonic and got up. "Anyway, I better get you back to your own timeline! Or else you may permanently conjoin your timeline with this alternative one! Causing this to be the main future for everyone!"

"No! I won't allow that!" Sonic glared, not willing to have all his friends look so alone an betrayed… he couldn't stand a future like that!

Tails nodded, "Then, if my time theories are correct…hehe, that's kinda cool if they were though." Tails looked up a second, looking like a geek whose just found out his sci-fi fantasy just came true.

"Ehem."

"O-oh…right." Tails shook his head, "Anyway, we need to make you a portal back home!"

"Perfect!" Sonic gave him a thumbs up.

Eggman from THIS future attacks, having already pretty much taken over most of the world, but the team has kept him from this little patch of land for far too long, and he's finally ready to seize it! Seeing Sonic, he freaks out about losing his 'winning streak' before noticing how much younger Sonic looks. "Wow, time really is kind to you. How.. frustrating.." he looks horribly old, himself. He seems jealous at first, before hearing Sonic's not from this timeline.

"Wait.. you mean that other me that keeps sending me fan-mail of himself and SPAM has now sent me a NEW Sonic the Hedgehog?" Eggman stated, pointing down to Sonic. "Well, what a birthday present! How wonderful! It's not even my evil anniversary yet either, I'm so thoughtful, hoho. I wonder how much I can get for sending him BACK." He glares down, not liking having Sonic back, even though he secretly is glad to have a 'challenging' foe again. "This time, I'll make sure you die, Sonic! How DARE you leave me without killing you off, by the way, I mean, for you're most prominent bad guy, that's just really rude you know!"

In the end, Tails and the gang fights together again as they somehow wrangle the others into helping Sonic, and Eggman surrenders a piece of paper to Tails.

"Great! This will have residue of your world and time line on it!" he rubbed his fingers on the paper, and held it out in front of him, looking pleased.

"Sonic, go bye, bye?" Amy held Sonic's face, and bent her head down on his shoulder. "Hehe, me no like."

"Uhh… should you still be touching it then? Wouldn't your residue get on it too, Tails?" Sonic tried to 'gently' pull the insane Amy off of him, as she slowly let go, but pressed her head close to him anyway. Her tongue hang out to the side of her as she kept at least a part of herself near him, like when he moved, she scooted out her foot to touch his, as if she wouldn't allow herself to be apart from him like before.

"What happened to her, again?" Sonic asked, as Tails shook his hand out.

"Not now, she was shot by Eggman's mind-scramble and all she can remember is the day you left. She was fixated on it till it drove her to maddness, now, you're probably right about the residue of this world, so we have to get back now!" Tails ran to his lab, as Knuckles picked up Amy as she hissed to get near Sonic again.

He bent down to speak with Sonic, having Amy on his head as he held her there with both arms. "Hey um… w-when… when you get back? Umm.. can you just… just tell me… I'm important to ya and the gang? It would um… it would mean a lot." Knuckles looked a bit scared to ask that to Sonic, as if he wasn't comfortable with Sonic being back again.

Sonic smiled, "I will." He nodding.

"P-promise?" Knuckles looked a lot more hopeful.

"Promise, big guy. On my word, I will let you know you're awesome." he patted Knuckles's arm, as Knuckles smiled and got up, looking thrilled.

"Yeah, I am awesome, aren't I?" he laughed and charged forward. "Let's get you back to your world!"

"Right!" Before Sonic could go, something grabbed hold of his leg, a thin string, that suddenly tripped him and pulled him back. "W-what-!?" he tried to dig his fingers into the ground but a strange figure pulled him into an alley way.

"So… you're not a clone of me or something." the voice stated, wearing a cloak over himself.

"Huh? W-what?"

Turning around, Sonic saw the figure take off his cloak. "So what are you, huh? Cause I sure don't like sharing my face. Or sharing anything for that matter."

Unlike the last Sonic he met, who had actually impressed him with how cool he was, Sonic was infuriated by this other Sonic, who was a low-life through and through, only caring about his own fame and gain, and left his friends because he felt they 'slowed him down' in his rise of trying to be a legendary hero.

Sonic fought, in his rage, his other self, crying out, "How could you!? Leaving them to believe they were the reason you turned on them! You're nothing but a no good, coward! I'm going to rewrite this world and take you with it!" Sonic punched him, as his other started fighting back pretty rough too.

"I'm better on my own! And you know that! They only get in the way of your success! Fame and glory don't come with friends, BUDDY." he mocked Sonic and kicked him away, as Sonic wiped his muzzle and got up.

"I'm not in it for the fame and glory… I can see where that would lead me now… Friendless… and a good for nothing traitor!" Sonic spat back. "I'd rather not exist than be what you've become! I could never give up my friends for anything! And besides, where your fame and fortune now? All I see is a riff-raff!"

Sonic defeats his darker and twisted self, and comes back to appreciate his friends, who send him through another portal, back to his original timeline, as everyone comes to greet him.

"Sonic!" Tails rushes up, and hugs him before moving back and fist pumping him. "I thought we'd never see you again!"

"Well, for 3 years, but yeah, I'm glad to see that's not the case." Sonic smiled in relief, seeing as everyone was their proper age now.

"Sonic! Oh, Sonic! I thought you were a goner! But I never gave up! I knew you'd find a way back, or we'd find a way in! No way were we going to leave you on your own like that!" Amy jumped up, looking worried as Sonic was happy to see her back to her usual self, and happily hugged her, spinning her around in the air.

"And it's good to know it, Amy Rose! Haha!"

"U-uuhh, ummm!? S-Sonic?!" She turned bright red as he set her down, and just stared at him, gawking and being taken aback by his actions.

He smiled back before turning to Knuckles.

"Heh, I'm just glad you weren't trapped forever! I mean, I thought I lost a friend back there…" Knuckles scratched the back of his head, as Sonic smiled, and put his hands on his hips.

"Knuckles,… your friendship means more to me than anything else in this world. I mean, who else could crush boulders with their bare fist, am I right?! I wouldn't want another big red lug other than my man, Knuckles!" Sonic gave Knuckles a friendly hit on his arm, as Knuckles looked strangely touched, and smiled.

"Gee… Thanks, Sonic. I never knew you cared about that." Knuckles wiped his eye, and sniffed. "If you say I'm crying, I'm pummel you." he threatened, but his voice didn't seem all that honest about it.

"Group hug..? Hehe~" Amy spread her arms out, as Sonic laughed and used his super speed to zoom them all into a bear hug.

"There's always time for at least one!"

Now the team was shocked, as they looked to one another in utter disbelief and then happily hugged Sonic back.

"Uhh.. Sonic? You okay?" Tails asked, as the Camera zoomed away, and moved up to Eggman, who was wiping a napkin under his eyes, reading a note.

"Dear Eggman, I grow bored of your alternate troubles and ramblings about how great YOU think you are compared to all of us other Eggmans. We're clearly all better than YOU from what you've written us, and would ask you to unkindly STOP MESSAGING US. You're friendly alternative future verisons, Eggman~ Oh, Orbot, Cubot. They replied! They replied!" Eggman hugged his robots, and cried. "I'm even evil in other timelines! I'm so proud of my other mes! Hehe!"
