Could you please do another sonamy forces prompt? Something like how Amy reacted when Sonic escaped imprisonment because the game didn't really touch on their interaction besides that slight communication between them when the avatar met up with Sonic. Also a little insight on what Sonic thought about during his imprisonment? Thank you ! Btw, love you're writing!

Prompt:

Within the grey walls of the Death Egg prison lay a window that showed nothing more than the expanse of space and the gap between the suffering earth and Sonic's little enclosed holding area.

He didn't bother looking out the window anymore. Every time he did, it only made him upset anyway. He kicked his shackled feet out and tried to wiggle his large hands through the small cuffs, to no avail, but it was something to do.

He just fidgeted mostly. What else was there to do if he couldn't move much?

Sighing, he got so bored he finally moved up to his feet, turning around and walking backwards to look out the window that was far above his head…

Stepping back in tiny increments, he was finally at eyeline with the window… well, as much as he could.

He stretched a bit, but stared at the earth… his home… the place he wanted to be on. To fight and protect it alongside his trusted friends… who he had known and partnered with for years.

"I wonder how they're holding up…" He muttered to himself, hearing with a flick of his ear the guard—Zavok—start his rounds.

There was something weird about Zavok though… he couldn't quite figure out what yet, but he looked over his shoulder and knew a taunting session was underway.

He looked back at the earth… green and blue… with a smudge of yucky red and black to show Eggman's foul touch on it.

He crinkled his nose, seeing the beauty of it tainted like that. It just looked filthy. Like a good handkerchief could wipe the grim off of it.

Zavok banged on the cell bars, causing Sonic to—in a relaxed and frightened manner—turn himself around to face him.

He smiled.

"Sonic…" Zavok growled in delighted villainy, hunching down and gripping the bar that kept Sonic detained.

"Sir Annoying, is your wanton rage still facing south?"

"…What?" Zavok turned around.

"Look down, it's where your face is, right?"

Zavok looked down to his butt, then growing enraged, he shook the jail bars again. "If it weren't for my orders, hedgehog, I'd be grounding your meat for dinner!" he stood back and threatened, pointing with hatred towards him. "You still may have your free spirit, but it gives me great satisfaction to see how trapped you really are…"

Sonic continued his happy-go-lucky streak, stretching some more and reaching to the sky, not taking anything Zavok said too seriously. "So, how's the war going?"

"Eggman will soon have your friends cornered. There's nothing you can do to stop the impending destruction of your world." Zavok held up a clawed hand and laughed.

"Right… right… so we're winning?" Sonic grinned, cocking an eyebrow up.

"Grr..!" Zavok lowered his head, shaking his whole being in outrage. "You won't be able to stay this way for long, Sonic! Soon, you'll have to watch the inevitable defeat of your friends, and then… I'd be surprised if you could still crack a joke by then."

"I love to surprise people, especially when the outcome they think will happen… won't." Sonic looked back to the earth, smiling in hope unceasing.

"…Hmph. Then rot here in your optimism. You have still been defeated Sonic. The earth's number one hope… there hero… is no more able to save their sorry hides." His last threat was growled out in a hiss that lingered in Sonic's mind…

Though he didn't turn back to Zavok, his smile faded and his eyes drooped softly as he missed more than just his freedom.

He sighed again, hearing Zavok stomp away and sat down on his bench once more.

"…Tails…" he closed his eyes, the yellow of the sun reminded him of his old friend. Always by his side and willing to help on a moment's notice.

"Knuckles…" the red of the blinking lights reminded him of his noblest rival, opening his eyes to stare at the flashing light as he thought of his friend. Rough and tough, but kind and chivalrous on the inside.

"…And then…" he got up, looking back to the window.

He had to be careful, jumping up in a quick hop to stand on the bench, and place his hands on the windowsill to look out at the earth again.

Green eyes… like the green of a nature-filled summit. Pink like space clouds that drifted by every now and then, looking like star dust as they twinkled slowly across the endless black domain of space. Red for the light…

Sonic lowered his eyes and turned to the freakishly distracting red siren light again… before shaking his head and looking back at the earth he just couldn't take his eyes off of…

"…Amy…" he whispered, lowering his head to his hands. "Sorry to make you all worry… But really, I'm fine. Just…

Missing all of you…"

When Sonic defeated Zavok and met up with the recruit, Amy was working around the communication lines. Knuckles had been talking to the recruit as she was on standby, placing some papers here and there and then rushing to type on the computers and see if any of the other forces had found something valuable.

And then…

As though on the corner of her ear, she caught hold of a joyful voice, a sweet and tuneful sound that she could recognize anywhere.

After rushing enthusiastically to the mic, she all but trampled over Knuckles to reach it, but he pushed her aside and continued to speak.

Her eyes watered, her hands up to her face in a bundled hold, trying desperately to let her excitement out through squeezing her hands together like so.

"He's alive, Knuckles… I knew he'd be alive!"

"They still have a lot to get through, Amy. But yes," Knuckles turned and smiled to her, confidently. "They're alive."

Relief swept through both of them.

"I should make him dinner!" She immediately wanted to provide any sense of relief to him as well. Dashing out, Knuckles tried to stop her but just laughed.

He knew he couldn't. Once she got her mind on something, there was no holding her back.

Sonic returned with a crowd of cheerful faces, roaring to see him and corralling around to try and get to him.

He was a little nervous about it all but smiled and wave and gave fist-pumps to whoever offered him one.

But Amy was in the back… jumping around and trying to see him, unable to get the tray of goodies to him…

She kept trying as Sonic looked to Knuckles, shaking his hand. "Good to see you, Knuckles. General?"

"Well, what else would I be?" Knuckles chuckled.

"Where's Tails?"

"He's been out on his own for a while now. But we informed him of your arrival. He should be back soon. He said he had something to show us all too, come to think of it." Knuckles put a hand to his chin, wondering what he could mean. "Maybe a better strategy."

"Tails isn't one to disappoint when it comes to good, strong news." Sonic smiled, completely confident in his friend.

He then continued to look around to the crowd of people before Amy's voice broke through the commotion.

"SOOONNNICCC!"

"Oph. That sounds familiar." Sonic felt his body jump a little at the familiar cry, and eagerly looked to Knuckles to dismiss himself. "How has she been holding up?"

"Heh, see for yourself." Knuckles was already wiping some tears from his eyes as he held back his laughter, seeing Amy climb over people and completely abandon her tray behind.

"Sonic-Offph!" she was dropped to the ground when the crowd parted, rubbing their shoulders or heads and not liking being climbed over.

"Well, well. If it isn't Amy Rose." Sonic teased, bending down to get a good look at her. "I'd of thought you'd forgotten all about me." He mocked a line she once said to him many years ago, when something similar to this had happened before.

She looked up with a gasp, remembering that moment and realizing he hadn't forgotten about her either.

"Oh Sonic…" her eyes teared up and she rushed happily into his arms, a signature move of hers…

"I just knew you were alive! Ohhh~ I'm never letting you out of my sights again!"

"Heheh. When have you ever..?" Sonic rolled his eyes, but allowed her to embrace him as long as she wanted.

"Hey, Amy. Don't you have something to help Sonic relax a bit from his six month 'torture'?" Knuckles raised an eyebrow, helping her out as she excitedly moved from Sonic and jumped back and forth on alternating feet.

"Oh! Yes! Yes I do! I have it! I'd thought you'd be hungry and so I made you something extra tasty! I bet it must of been just awful up there in space… Ohh, come on! I'll take good care of you! As usual~" she cupped his face before dragging him in a hyper rush towards where she set the tray down.

Sonic just humorously tried to wave Knuckles goodbye but zoomed off the second Amy tugged on his arm, unable to really fight against the pushing crowd that walled him and Amy in.

Once that was all taken care of, he was bombarded with Amy's doting again. She watched him eat and then offered seconds, but he was glad to have it with her company. He was nonstop chattering, having not had a decent conversation in a while as Knuckles and Amy filled him in on what they knew.

He then slept and waited for Tails, but while he did so, Amy peeked her head through the door as it creaked a little too loudly for her liking at his sleeping form…

"…Oh, Sonic. You must be so exhausted from all that running…" she knew it wouldn't be the running, he was used to that. But her heart still made her say it…

She snuck into the room, having every little crack of the floorboards threaten the thought of Sonic waking up to see her sneaking in while he was sleeping. But she couldn't help it. She pulled out a chair and stared at him… daring to take his hand while he slept and just take it all in. He was alive and well. It was the most beautiful feeling to have… he was sleeping, safe and sound and she could hold his hand and hear his silent breathing…

She could watch the blankets move up and down from his steady breaths and see his restful face as he slumbered away without a worry.

He'd be up and gone soon enough… anxious to help the fight against Eggman, and ready and willing to join the cause once again with a renewed spirit of hope and freedom.

She leaned up, knowing she couldn't stay there forever, but wishing for just a couple more minutes.

She leaned down to peak his cheek with a soft but longing kiss, tucking him in just a little more and being careful not to disturb him.

It would be wrong to wake him after all he's been through, and the first decent sleep he's had for a long while shouldn't be interrupted by her selfish fancies.

She just wanted to reaffirm over and over again that he was there. He was back and not going anywhere off the planet again, so long as she had anything to do about it!

She placed the chair back, carefully faced the squeaking floorboards again, and trekked over to the obnoxiously loud and creaking door again.

She took one last look, making sure the room was dark enough to sleep in, but that the window was drawn just slightly to give him some needed light in a once gloomy setting.

She smiled lovingly as she left the room like a ghost, glad he wasn't one. No longer would her dreams be haunting reminders that he wasn't there. That night, she dreamed they had a picnic once the war was done, and even might have shared their very first, real kiss~
