HELLO from Anon to the wonderful Miss Mayra! I know you're busy organizing all of your prompts for us, your fellow readers, and I really appreciate it ^_^. But whenever you're free, feel free to write this scenario going on in my mind about Sonic and the whole gang just having fun at twinkle park after a brawl against Dr. Eggman. Has something inexplicably hilarious, and memorable for the whole gang to live by, and maybe even a twist in the end. And then I leave everything to your capable hands

I had to think about this one, then I got an interesting concept I decided to go with. Hope you enjoy :)b

Prompt:

Sonic was about ready to celebrate and then take a nap with the taste of a chilidog still lingering in his mouth. But no. His friends had convinced him that for once, they were going to celebrate—just a tad longer—with each other this time.

Sonic had placed his hands behind his head, scrutinizing the elevator that led them to Twinkle Park.

He wasn't upset or anything, just automatically bored. He let his eyes lazily carry his gaze up the tall building of its entrance, tilting his head to see how truly large the place within was.

"I can't believe we're all going to Twinkle Park together!" Amy excitedly clasped her hands together, her big open grin was nothing new to Sonic, but he still liked to watch his friends' reactions.

"Yeah! Me and Sonic are gonna play all the carnival games!" Tails excitedly held up his bundled fists, hunching over some to show his excitement. His tails swayed a moment in 's' formations before he turned to Sonic, "You said you would, right?"

Sonic closed his eyes, lowering his chin down, but seemed to be agreeing to Tails's question. "Whatever you'd like." He yawned, quite loudly.

"Alright!" Tails spun up into the air, "I call the skill games first! Oh! Then the chance ones too! Who knows? I may actually beat you on some of them, Sonic." He looked a little confident, as though he knew the ins and outs of the trade-secrets to rig the games to his favor.

Sonic peeked an eye open, curious about his friend's new spark of competition. "Hmm..?" he was mostly laid back, but Amy noticed his relaxed manner and frowned at it. She didn't like that he wasn't as excited as they were.

"Uhh… how do I… hmm…" Knuckles was tangled up in tickets, causing Amy to gasp at the sight of him.

"Knuckles! How many did you buy?"

"H-huh? Well, the nice lady said we need tickets to do all the stuff in the park. Weird though, she said pets usually aren't allowed… We didn't bring any Chao…" He seemed to miss what the human lady had questioned…

Amy let her shoulders roll back and her demeanor falter, "Oh, Knuckles… I guess we'll just work with what we have." She ripped a strand of his entangled tickets off and handed them to Sonic. "I know this isn't as exciting as fighting Eggman a moment ago…"

Sonic saw the tickets, opening more of his eyes and then reached a hand out to take them.

"But for all our sakes… can't you enjoy it a little bit? After all! We shouldn't have to only spend time with you when the whole planet's at stake!" She made a good point, but it seemed to fall on deaf ears…

"I'm here, aren't I?" it was a quick quip, but one that held no real emotion or opinion in it. After all these years, Sonic had learned not to dispute openly with Amy. Sometimes… it was her way or the highway, and he preferred the latter most days…

"Oh boy! Haha!" Tails was excitedly pulling the tickets off of Knuckles, getting a pile for him and Sonic and seeming distracted from Amy and Sonic's conversation.

As Sonic examined the texture of the ticket, Amy looked behind her to observe Tails's enthusiasm and went straight back to Sonic.

A firm hand gripped his shoulders, "Now, look…"

"Hmm?" He blinked a moment, then flinched back as she placed a hand on her hip and leaned forward, an angry squint of her eyes meant she wasn't messing around this time.

"Tails is really looking forward to spending a normal day with you. You make him feel bad about that, and I'll make you feel worse for a week!" she loosened her grip and let go of him, then turned back to Tails with a sweet attitude and her hands clapped together. "Who's ready for the rides?"

Sonic let his arms dangled and made a rather unwanted expression… showing his uncomfortable dread of her forceful antics mingled with her 'nurturing' side.

"Yeah!" "Alright!"

Both Knuckles and Tails showed their willingness and they all went inside the elevator.

"Throwing these balls is all about science." Tails tossed a few balls up and down in one hand, then squished them against his palm to test their durability and 'bounciness'. "They place the barrels like that to trick the eye. It's actually less angled and deeper than you would think." He then stuck out his thumb and 'measured' the circumference of its opening. "It needs to be directly in the back of the barrel, landing softly and without a bunch of bouncing. But we're lucky, hehe!" He turned and gave a close-eyed grin to Sonic, "These aren't those white balls with little holes in them! Those things bounce everywhere and its all evil in the face of physics! But with these balls, we have a better chance at success! It's all in the percentages and toss. Observe!" Tails readied his underhanded throw, but Sonic just stood with his arms folded.

A smile crept onto Sonic's face, seeing the girls on the side of the carnival ride giggling at how cute Tails's little speech of confidence was.

Apparently… they knew he was somewhat right, but also will soon be proven wrong. As with all games, you may know the science behind it, but have a hard time executing it.

Tails stuck his tongue out to the side, closing one eye before he happily let the ball go.

It made it inside, bounced against the back and hit the corner, rolling out.

"Oh shoot!" Tails bounced his fists once in the air in unison. "I-I must have hit the cornered crack in the middle!"

"Em-hmm." Sonic took a ball, unfolding his arms and leaning his head up. "Uhhh…huh." He suddenly tossed the ball and it hit smack dab in the middle, rolling with a spin to keep it in place before bouncing and popping back down in the center.

One bounce became smaller than the others till it vibrated in place a second and stayed.

"Winner!" One of the girls cried out, removing the ball. "Two more and you can get the big prize!" she winked the challenge and encouragement to Sonic, then handed the boys their balls back.

Tails looked disappointed, but also admired Sonic a moment. "H-how'd you get the trajectory just right?" he seemed to be genuinely wanting to learn.

Sonic smirked and rubbed with a quick flick of his thumb under his nose, "Nothing to it, pal! I fling myself into things all the time!" he was referring to his homing-attack.

He turned more fully to Tails, shrugging his arms up but looking as though he was trying to encourage his young friend. "Like you said, science and stuff. But you can't beat instinct. Just trust your gut more, Tails! It's all in the mind." Sonic poked his own head, looking down to Tails and leaning towards him as to make his point.

Tails turned back to the game, tilting his head with a confused expression on his face as he pondered Sonic's words. "Huh… like… fighting Eggman… instinct?"

"Yeah! Something like that, anyway." Sonic turned away, bored again, and stuck a finger in his ear, wiggling it around a bit.

"Give a try, kid!" The girl made a kind gesture with swinging her arm into herself, as though saying, 'you got this!'.

Tails flew up, gripping the ball and thinking of it as one of his many bombs he would occasionally throw at an Eggman robot.

He tossed it, letting faith be his guide.

"Winner!" the girl cried out, seeing the ball rapidly spin around the barrel before losing momentum and staying perfectly within it.

"I did it!" Tails exclaimed, jumping higher into the air before coming down and holding his hands out to Sonic.

As though knowingly, Sonic casually turned his body and held out his own hands, letting them grip against Tails's swishing in pressure and keeping him stable in the air.

"I really did it! It was just as you said!"

"Proud of you, little buddy." Sonic smiled.

Across the way, Amy was sitting at a cotton candy machine while Knuckles brought over one for her, chewing on his own.

"Haha! It disappears in my mouth!" he tried to bite into a huge chunk of it, but found his mark didn't affect the rest of the fluffy candy and immediately laughed. "It's like eating cloud fuzz!"

"Cloud fuzz..?" Amy giggled, leaning her head on her raised hand. "Look at'em. They're truly having a 'brotherly' moment over there…"

She smiled tenderly at their interaction, seeing Tails tug on Sonic's hand and point to another game, which Sonic nodded to and let Tails pull him towards.

"A mighty hero… finding the heart and time to spend valuable moments indulging his friends wishes… What a hedgehog~3" her doting nature kicked in and her eyes lit up with hearts. Her hands immediately came up to the sides of her face and she stared off after Sonic with complete infatuation.

Knuckles pfft'd a second, pulling more cotton candy off with his gloved-hands and trying to squish it to see if it disappeared like it did in his mouth. "Yeah, some hunk. Having to get yelled at by you in order to take this all somewhat seriously." Knuckles bit on the piece in his hand as Amy turned around, puffing up a side of her cheek in defense of her man.

"I only gave him a suggestion. He's the one willingly going along with it. Besides~" she drifted back into her girlish pitched and light voice, dreamily letting her thoughts wander back to Sonic. "He's not just doing it for me! You know full well Sonic wouldn't do anything he didn't want to do. I think he's secretly enjoying it." She placed her hands on her lap and kindly watched the two boys play a shooting game, knocking over some objects positioned upright and having Tails cheer at knocking more down than Sonic.

Sonic just gave a kind smile back to him, before slamming a ticket down and firing off bullets faster than the carnival man had time to set the objects up again. The carnival man ducked and made odd shapes with his body to jump and dodge Sonic's now aggressive play style while Tails just laughed and laughed.

Tails played again and seemed to expertly hit more accurately in fewer tries, and a small piece of sweat awkwardly fell from Sonic's frowning expression as he turned to his friend.

His eyelids drooped and then the two burst out laughing.

"…I guess he's showing his age." Knuckles also smiled, seeing the two getting along. "But I'm surprised, Amy… normally, you're the one trying to hog Sonic's attention. What's the occasion?" Knuckles started nipping at the cotton candy more rapidly, before seeing it diminish and look temptingly over at Amy's portioned scoop…

She sighed, facing away from him and making the temptation all the more desirable.

She leaned back and sorrowfully stared off at the two, "I'm always demanding Sonic's time… I think it's sad that you and Tails never get to see this side of Sonic. The side that's just… not adventuring at the moment. You know?" Amy tilted her head, flinching Knuckles in the background as he scarfed her portion down.

She was unaware he had used two tickets to buy two sets of cotton candy, so when she turned to look at him, he threw the cone—the only evidence to his traitorous act—away in the same bin he had thrown his own into.

"…You okay?" Amy raised an eyebrow, but he lightly chewed and quickly swallowed whatever lingered on his tongue.

"Emm~ Just fine… heh…heh…" He sweated a little, dipping his head down and moving back to avoid her suspicions.

Later, Sonic and Knuckles got to spend time on the power machines, testing strength as Amy beat them in the hammer game. But Knuckles had the highest score on the punching test game. Amy used a ticket on a fortune telling puppeteer box and got an interesting note- "If you love something, let it go." She crinkled it up and tossed it but the boys just snickered to each other.

Sonic, over the course of their time in the park, showed more and more emotion and joy with his friends as the hours passed.

"Boat ride?" Amy's eyes pleaded to a man who was cleaning and clearly worked there.

"Sorry, miss. The only romantic location we have in the park is the Ferris wheel. Unless you consider the merry-go-round romantic." He turned to see a kid spinning on it and hurl off camera. "…Which not many do." He spun his broom and let it fall on his shoulder, "Whelp! Back to work!" he waved her off and continued like a soldier towards the mess…

Amy sighed, lifting a foot up to rub it as her feet were starting to hurt from all the standing.

"Boy! I thought that boat was really gonna tip over all the way and drop us! My stomach still feels like it flipped five times!" Sonic and Knuckles laughed with arms around the other, as Tails stumbled off the flipping boat ride and stuck a dizzy finger up.

"Fun fact… centrifugal force is an inertial force sometimes referred to as a fictitious force which acts on all masses whose motion is dictated by the energy from some type of moving thing, vehicle, or mechanical construction." Tails wobbled out of the exit and fell slightly, "W-woah!" Sonic and Knuckles looked to each other, each rushing to one side of him and grabbing a tail, hoisting him up. "Phew! Thanks, guys." He smiled, "Now as I was saying, the pirate ship rocks back and forth with enough speed and centrifugal force to confidently ensure all occupants are firmly and quite forcibly… hehe, physic pun—fixed in their seats with no danger of falling out!"

Sonic shook his head, tipping one of his toes up, "Gotta hand it to ya, buddy. Even when you're dizzy and scared out of your wits, you still manage to think cohesively."

Amy came back to her friends with her head held low, looking truly in the depths of disappointment.

"Hmm? What's wrong, Amy?" Sonic inquired, as Knuckles and Tails also noticed how distraught the young girl looked.

"Not having fun? Oh come on, you love Twinkle Park!" Knuckles confidently flung an arm out, trying to state the obvious but Amy just looked up with tears in her glossy, big green eyes.

"There's no boat ride…" she sniffed.

"Sure there is. I just explained the logic of it-" Tails pointed behind him with his thumb but Sonic nudged his side, discretely shutting him up.

"Not that one, the swan ones!" Amy shouted out a moment, "The ones that they had years ago! Ohh… I thought me and Sonic could ride that…"

"…You were excited about the rides." Tails looked to Sonic, knowing full well it was almost her turn with the blue hero.

Knuckles snickered, nudging Sonic. "Well, I'm sure Sonic can pick out a ride that might excite ya."

Sonic didn't think it was all that funny.

"Amy, why not go on that one?" He pointed to the roller coaster.

Amy just sniffed, showing it wouldn't conquer her hopes and dreams of surprising him in the dark of the tunnel.

He sweatdropped, almost having seen a glimpse of those dreams…

His suggestion sank as fast as his pointing hand he tried to keep a smile on his face without looking weirded out. "W-well… there's always the Ferris Wheel…"

"That will have to do." Taking a brave face, Amy snatched Sonic's arm and began to trample through the streets towards the Ferris Wheel's line, dragging Sonic behind her. "I won't miss my chance for at least ONE romantic ride!"

The two boys left behind looked a little third and forth-wheeled… but they turned to each other and smiled with a shrug, heading to the rollercoaster Sonic had pointed out.

"WHOOOHOOO!" they cheered, coming down from the drop as Sonic was slowly… oh so slowly… moving up on the uncomfortably cramped seat, being forced against Amy's side as she snuggled up to him with a bright and beautiful smile on her face.

"It's a little cold up here…" she looked to his arm, then back to him.

"…." He was staring off into the mountains beyond the sea, and Amy frowned at his silent ignorance.

"Eh-HEM." She coughed into her hand.

"Hmm?" He came back out of his thoughts, turning to her. "Oh. Sorry." He moved his arm and put it around her, then kicked up a leg and placed his elbow on it, using it as support so he could cup his chin and continue to stare at mother nature's photogenic landscapes.

Amy pouted, seeing he wasn't going to be super invested in her at the moment.

"I'll make do." She seemed to surrender to it and adjusted herself, turning to dip her head onto his shoulder. "…What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing, really." Sonic spoke up, and she blinked her eyes in puzzlement.

"Wait, you responded really fast on that one. Have you… have been paying attention to me this whole time?" She turned to look back at his face.

"…"

"Hmph." She grew upset again, easily getting triggered and turned to face away from him again, folding her arms and slouching down by his side. "Men."

He suddenly leaned back, pulling her deeper into his chest and letting her lay there.

The sudden action caused her to blush, though when she looked up, hoping to see him charmingly gazing down at her, he was still just fixated on the jungled mountains near Angel Island—a good distance away from the peopled city.

She grumbled, now fully aware his actions were just to get himself comfortable and not for pulling a move on her.

"You're the worst boyfriend ever…" she grumbled.

"Huh?" Sonic snapped out of his staring and looked down at her. "Hey, when did you move?"

An anger mark popped onto her head, realizing he didn't even notice his subtle movement at all.

"THAT'S IT!" she got up and rocked the Ferris wheel, venting her frustrations onto it as Sonic held on while it shook back and forth. "I WANT OFF THIS UNROMANTIC GIMMICK!"

She cried out, "HEEELPPP!" as the cleaning man below was scuffling some trash into his dustpan, humming a song.

She sat down and reclined back, her head falling to her chest and her legs spread out in defeat.

"Ohhh… it's hopeless. No matter how hard I tried to self-sacrifice for the good of Knuckles and Tails… I end up with the short stick at the end of the day…" she puffed out the last of her tantrum. "It would just be nice… if we could do something we both liked to do… something we could both enjoy… I'm always having to push you to spend time with me. Tails and Knuckles finally got to spend time with you because I wouldn't just let you ignore everyone after the adventure this time… but…" she suddenly wagged her feet out and threw her hands up to her face, shaking her head to the heavens. "Ohhhh-oohh-oohh! You always leave me like I'm last year's special!" she deflated back into her seat again. "Waaahh…. Can't a girl catch a break…"

"…Amy..?"

She turned back to Sonic, "What..?" she looked so despairing, it was so human, and yet so adorable.

He smiled.

The second he did so, her heart raced and her cheeks flushed again, "W-what are you looking at me like that for…" she swallowed hard, 'This is it..!'.

Sparkles shown all around him in her vision, a beautiful picture of his caring side and his eyes fully directed to her.

"…The rides over." He gestured to the man opening their door.

"…NO! I WANT TO GO AGAIN!" she fought the man, trying to shut the door as he had to pull against her to let them off.

Sonic was just the man-in-the-middle before they forcibly dragged Amy off the ride kicking and screaming while Sonic nonchalantly walked behind the security.

When they regrouped with the others, Amy was exhausted and they all went on other rides while taking selfies with her drained expression in them.

At the end, however, Sonic and the gang were eating ice cream… you can only imagine who demanded they have some, as Sonic got up unexpectedly.

"Today… was really more than I expected."

The gang all turned their heads to him, "What do you mean, Sonic?" Tails led the follow-up question as Amy only slightly rose her sullen head up from her ice cream cup, her eyes showing black undertones in her distress.

"…I found out that me and Tails have really good aim and a knack for schooling humans at their own games!" He looked over his shoulder and gave Tails a thumbs up, as Tails returned the kind and friendly gesture.

"Hehe~ They couldn't make a game a fox and a hedgehog couldn't out-play!" He taunted, proudly.

Sonic turned to Knuckles, gesturing a motion of his hand towards him. "And that Knuckles could hold in so much food while spinning around in those egg-scramblers!"

Knuckles blushed in embarrassment, rubbing the back of his head. "Hey, we had a bet. And I kept my lunch in, didn't I?" he winked to show comradery.

Sonic winked back and then turned to Amy, who was ignoring his speech entirely and quickly eating her insignificant existence away.

"And I would have never known…" his eyes turned a bit tenderly towards her, but she didn't notice the subtlety of it. "How the darkening skies look so much more beautiful… when you're sitting next to the one's you hold close."

Her spoon suddenly wavered in delivering the cooling relief of sugary goodness to her lips, and she placed it down with a clank as she looked—awestruck—up towards Sonic.

Her mouth still hung open, as though about to eat the ice cream, but the two boys just slyly looked over to her and then snickered to one another again.

"Sounds like you had a different kind of fun today, Sonic." Knuckles commented, holding out a fist for him to pump his own into.

Sonic nodded, "Emhmm." Walking over to Knuckles and returning the fist-pump gesture he offered. "It's definitely not something Eggman could produce in his evil schemes."

The three suddenly heard a few tears and sniffles, and Sonic's body seemed to cringe up at the sound of it, slowly turning to Amy.

She was so moved by his words that she was crying.

"You… you had an emotional moment with me… thinking that stuff… AND YOU DIDN'T INCLUDE THE THOUGHT TO TELL ME!?" she summoned her hammer, stomping her foot up to the table they were eating at as the men quickly dived out of her way. "GET BACK HERE, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!" she charged after him through a fun-house, getting caught up in all the funny mirrors or moving floors as Knuckles and Tails became awkward third and fourth wheels again. They sweatdropped, "WHY DIDN'T YOU BOTHER SAVING ME FROM SECURITY, HUH!? THEY SCRATCHED MY NEW SHOES INTO THE DIRT! AND WHAT ABOUT THE SKIES?! YOU COULDN'T HAVE TAKEN FIVE SECONDS TO SAY- Oh Amy dearest, look~ Isn't the sky so lovely today? It's so much better with you around~ OR WAS THAT TOO MUCH SOCIAL INTERACTION TO ASK FOR!?"

Sonic ducked and weaved his way through the funhouse before finally managing to tangle Amy up a fun-house trap. He looked in through a window at her stuck in a hexagon cutout that children usually crawled through.

She struggled to kick out of it but finally gave up and reached her arms out to him.

The look of needing him desperately brought out some mercy in him, and he sighed and went back through the fun-house, carrying her out as she cried in his arms and hugged him close.

"Shall we go?" Sonic smiled to his friends, then looked down at Amy.

She sniffed, "Yeah, sure. I had a lot of fun today…"

Sonic nodded to her, glad she was speaking honestly as Knuckles and Tails also agreed.

"It was a blast!" Tails stated.

"Definitely will have to come back here sometime. Make sure no one's beaten my high score on that punching dummy." He rotated his shoulder, and the gang all laughed except Amy… who was laughing on the inside… but wailing with bittersweet and light cries of both joy and mixed, complicated feelings…
