The heat of the warm fire flickered by Metal Sonic's now heated frame, the weight of Eggman's feet became lighter somehow, as he stared with his broken and sparking red eye into the flower's yellow petals and brown base.
How did the Pink Hedgehog find this flower? It was blistering cold. He wanted to deactivate. He wanted to waste the last of his seemingly eternal battery with that flicky flapping inside him. It was almost like a soul. And Metal was waiting for it to die.
When she had come, he thought nothing of it. Nothing mattered anymore. He was alone, cold, and abandoned. He had failed. He was the lesser Sonic. Nothing mattered anymore. His circuits only fired the life-sustaining signals in slow, rhythmic pulses that would fry out in time.
So he wanted to wait and rust over with the rest of the nature that defeated him.
But she saved him. Then she whacked him. Then she dragged him for miles and miles… He didn't care. She may take him to the Yellow Fox and he may scrap him into a washing machine for all he cared. He thought he saw at times the traces of a blue light in the darkness of the winter's night, but didn't care.
His motion sensors told him something was there, but the Pink Hedgehog would toss him into a recycling bin anyway. His master would have. Why was this organic lifeform any different?
He used her. He baited Sonic to him with her cries. She was only acting out revenge-
What was this?
She had placed him up after so long of traveling, but he didn't recognize where he was. He didn't care.
He slouched forward before she smacked a strange soft ribbon to his head, hiding the dents and wares of his latest defeat.
Really?
He looked away as she started trotting to the door, which surprised him. Was she just going to leave him there? This couldn't possibly be the junkyard.
She paused as she was about to skip away, but turned back to grab his hand.
When he felt his hand being raised, he also felt each piston and creak of his body move with it. It felt… almost alive.
He watched her place a flower in his hand. An act of kindness he couldn't register as he looked after her hesitating hand, as though letting him admire her gift a moment.
She had 'prettied' him up for whatever melting process he was about to endure.
She turned him around as he continued to stare at the flower. Soft like the ribbon to his sensory electrical outsources, and pleasant to look at through his screen-enhanced vision spectacles.
Then the door opened.
He looked up to see his master, taking the flower as he felt his whole systems had turned off at the gesture.
But Eggman just looked around, then picked him up.
As he turned Metal Sonic around, Metal Sonic watched the Pink Hedgehog clap her hands in total delight. …She took him home..?
Now, as he looked to the flower, he couldn't help but wonder what had become of her.
He moved from under Eggman's sleeping mass, lifting his legs with his clawed hands to remove them and getting up, staring at the flower as he made his way to the window.
When he looked out, he crushed the flower's stem in his hands while his eyes blared red.
Sonic was here.
Holding another flower identical to his own.
Metal Sonic's rage grew his whole frame shook with fury.
He held the flower up to the fireplace, glaring at it as he made a silent vow.
If the Pink Hedgehog favors Sonic, he would become the greatest Sonic there ever was! He would rub it in that organic, blue and smug little face!
He was about to throw the flower in… but something prompted him to stop.
He looked at the flower again. It swayed as the embers that flew from the flame licked at it's petals, hurting its beauty.
He stared and watched it catch on fire… before pulling it away and tapping the flames gently off of it.
The Pink Hedgehog's time would come. He would secure her affections to mock the Lesser Sonic's pride. Then he would destroy them all...
He sat back down near Eggman's legs, lifted them up and placed back on his head. He stared at the flower… wanting to rip every last identical flower off the face of the growing lifeform known as earth. But then wondered if the Pink Hedgehog would give Sonic another flower? Different from his own.
He glared deeper, crushing the flower's stem again as it wilted slightly.
He would destroy all flowers. All nature and plant life. All living things…
All but this one flower… and the Pink Hedgehog's heart.
