Also, the prompts are not 'quotes' they are 'premises' that I use for the main plot :) I hope that makes sense! w
Prompt: (Archie Universe)
"Mind if my humble hands hold that down for you, Madam?"
"Oh, rats! Completely and total waste of nine minutes and forty seconds! Oh, be a dear would you and just keep it in place?"
"Certainly! It is my greatest honor to assist you, madam!"
Fitit and happily placed his hands down on the machine, which she clearly only knew a little about working it properly, and started to once more work upon it.
Knuckles, walking in, looked pretty beat tried, but glanced over at what the two were doing.
"Trying to locate another clue again?" he asked, yawning as he leaned against one of the control panels.
She turned around, "Well, don't you look chipper." her sarcasm came at a bad time, as he grumbled and let his head rest on it's counter.
"Oh? Is that how you want to play, is it?" She got up, dusting herself off and smiling as she walked over, clearly in the mood to tease. "Tell me all about it!"
Fitit flew over just then, "Guardian Knuckles! I'm afraid to inform you that you seem very low on energy circulation." he moved his hand around in a rotated circle, sticking a finger out to show what he was meaning. He then worriedly placed his hands together, leaning more towards him. "I'd hate to impose, but I really feel it best to politely ask of you to rest and perhaps, of course this is just some friendly advice but… sleep?" He seemed nervous about suggesting it.
"Thanks.. but you guys really don't need to concern yourselves with me." He yawned again, and started leaning up, using his arms against the counter to hoist himself up.
"Oh, pish posh, you REALLY think we're going to believe that!? Now, you're glorious ancestors may have been quite the Spartans, but you're heading straight to wherever best fits that head of yours. Hop to it!" She pushed him along, as Fitit followed after her and she lead him into another room, setting him down on a cot.
"It's not the… most pristine guestroom, I'll admit. But it will suit for your best interests. Now, just sleep." she actually was pretty thorough with tucking him in bed, as Fitit did the other side.
"You guys, honestly, I'm fin-" he tried to lean up, putting a hand up to cover his face from the blinding spotlight above him before Relic's face came back down into view.
"Hmph. Quite the stuborn one. Very well, you leave me no choice!" she walked over to what appeared to be an ancient music box, and did some sort of combination on it's back as it began to softly play and increase in volume a lullaby like tune.
"Heh. Works everytime. Now, count to 50. Start with 1,… then 2… then 3… close your eyes now… 4… 5… Like a dance~" she started to count each beat, before twirling as if dancing in a ball.
He watched her a moment, before his eyes drooped slightly in sleepiness, and he flopped down, messing up his covers.
He snored, as Fitit hovered to check his readings.
"All necessary processes affirmed to be playing a part in putting our dear Guardian Knuckles to sleep! We did it!" Fitit rose his arms up, glad they succeeded.
"Ah? M-madam?" he hovered slightly away, seeing her pull out a wooden box and sit on it, looking down at Knuckles.
He put his two pointer fingers together, seeming shy now.
"This music was said to be played for especially echidna ears." she explained, and lightly rubbed his head as he slept.
Her eyes looked gentle and she sighed. "What I wouldn't give to hear the frequencies that are now putting him silently to rest." she smiled, closing her eyes in envy, before looking up to him fondly again.
"But no matter. I am who I am. And you are you."
Fitit stared, not sure how to understand her words or actions, but thought them kind enough and bowed, placing his hands together in front of him. "I shall attempt to finish your work then, while you watch over Guardian Knuckles for a time, Madam." he bowed deeply once more, and then turned off the light, leaving the door open and moving back to what they had previously been working on.
"W-wait, that won't be-!" she outstretched her hand, before withdrawing it back to her side, looking thankful for his gesture.
"That silly bot." she said lovingly, and shook her head, turning back to Knuckles.
She fiddled with her feet apart, tapping her toe to her heel a second, getting bored, and looked back towards Knuckles.
She then remembered something.
Echidna priest often wrote about 'dream walks' that they would take… where they're spirits would find greater understanding to nature and the world through them.
Sometimes, they were extra sensitivity to what they felt or heard in the outside world, and some reports stated that Echidna's fell into a hypnotic trance from traitors speaking to them in these dream walks.
She wondered if she could…
She leaned her mouth up near Knuckles's ear, or where her research told her it should be,.. anyway.
She hesitated a minute, thinking it prosperously silly, but then again…
"Knuckles…" she softly whispered, "If you could love anyone in this world… I sincerely hope it may be me."
He continued to snore, before the snore got muffled by his mouth closing and forming a swiggly line of sorts, and then returning to normal.
She leaned up, "Oh my." she wondered if that worked, and got a crazy idea.
She leaned down again.
"You are attracted to smart girls!" she whispered. "Ones who primarily are interested in your ancestral roots and take great care in your well being."
His eyes squinted more closed as he grumbled in his sleep, his mouth closing to form another swiggly line and then turning over.
"Well, we'll see how that goes in the morning." she teased.
She got up, putting her hands on her hips, and walked out of the room, satisfied with that little experiment.
A little while later, his power nap was over, and he rubbed his head, yawning as he walked out of the room.
"The readings calculate to about… oh! Guardian Knuckles! You've awakened! We are truly grateful to see you once again in our presence!" Fitit put his hands together, clapping them in great delights at seeing Knuckles awake and well.
"Hold on, I'll switch over to my other programming and see if you've been at last rejuvenated!"
"Knuckles." Relic nodded.
He stared at her a moment, before looking away, nodding back. "Thanks for the care. I don't think I really needed it all that bad though." he yawned again.
"Oh, you are still just as dense to your own self as you are to others." she pouted, seeing he wasn't going to admit she was right.
She got up from her work and walked over to him, folding her arms, and standing boldly in front of him.
She wondered…
"How do you feel?"
"Ugh… like I walked in my sleep." he rubbed his head, and her eyes widened in excitement.
What if it worked.
She cleared her throat, "Ehem, ehem… W-well! I'm surely glad you at least took our advice and slept awhile! Heading out, then?" she rocked on one of her heels.
"Yeah… Gotta lot to do." he stretched, before looking back at her, and blinking a second.
She grew even more excited, and waited to see what he would say or do.
She looked within both his gorgeous echidna eyes.. they are to recognize color pretty well with them.
"…Has your hair always been the color of grapes?"
"…Um… yes?"
"…I love grapes."
She smirked.
Got'cha.
