A/N: Please note, this is a different continuity than Class 1-A's Secret Family. So pairings are different, the cast don't have the family members that (however slightly) changed up their personalities and, of course, they haven't met Sandra, the Empress of the Universe.
Also, for those who prefer Archives Of Our Own, I'm on there now and will be posting the story there, too! But, let's not waste any more time and get onto the story!
Class 1-A made their way outside of the dorms they had moved into after Bakugo's kidnapping, waiting for their teachers after Aizawa had apparently left a note that they had an important announcement for the teens. "Hey, where are they? They said whatever they wanted to talk about was important, so shouldn't they be here?" Sero asked, looking around.
"Indeed. For them to call us out here for an urgent matter, then to not be here themselves is simply shameful for esteemed teachers of such a prestigious academy." Iida said strictly, doing his usual robotic chopping motion.
"You think this is some kind of joke?" Hagakure said.
"No way, can't be. Mr. Aizawa doesn't have a sense of humor." Kaminari declared.
"You should watch what you say about people behind their back, Kaminari." Aizawa's voice rang out, causing the electric boy to freeze and turn deathly pale as he approached the class, alongside All Might, Midnight and Present Mic.
"Now then, what did you want to see us about?" All Might asked as they reached the students.
Said students were caught off-guard after the former Number One Hero said this. "What do you mean, All Might? We thought you were the one who called us out here. There was a note in the common room Mr. Aizawa needed to speak with us as soon as possible." Yaoyorozu said, holding out the note.
It was now the teacher's turn to be caught off-guard. "If you little listeners are working on your own prank show, it's time to go back to the drawing board. We got a note that you guys were having serious issues in the dorm and needed us to sort it all out." Present Mic explained.
"So, something is going on here. But what, exactly? And who's behind this?" Midnight wondered.
Just then, a crack appeared in thin air 50 feet away from the group, as if there was a tear in the fabric of reality itself. Then, before anyone could say anything, the air around the crack caved into the tear in reality, leaving a white void in time and space almost the size of the dorm building itself. "What's happening!?" Uraraka asked.
"Stay behind us!" Aizawa ordered as they moved in front of the group. Then, something emerged from the void. But the creature emerged from it was unlike anything the Pros had ever seen before.
It was a large, round, semi-humanoid figure somewhat resembling a mechanical clock. It had a translucent window on its chest displaying its innards, which appeared to be various gears and a short, round head with a semi-circular appendage on top, similar to the key of a wind up toy. It's main body was black, with silver accents and the gears inside its chest, as well as its coil-like upper arms and thighs were red.
"What the hell is that thing?!" Bakugo demanded.
"A villain!?" Asui asked.
"Are they here for Bakugo again!?" Ashido asked worriedly.
"Who are you!? And what do you want?!" Aizawa demanded.
The figure said nothing, only leaning forward, allowing a massive blackish-purple tendril to emerge from the tear in reality. Before anyone could react, the tendril lashed forward, wrapping around the entire group and pulling them through the void, which then closed behind them as if nothing had happened. The figure then slammed its hands together, before pulling them apart and unleashing a white light that expanded to engulf the figure, then the dorms, then the rest of U.A's campus, then the entire district, before continuing to expand until it engulfed all of Japan, all of the Earth itself, then finally the entire universe... Their universe, anyway.
Jiro couldn't breathe. She felt her face being smothered in something, but also firm. And warm. It felt nice- and also strangely familiar- but she still couldn't breathe, so she struggled for a moment as she regained her faculties, pulling her face free from its confinement and gasping for air. After a moment, she looked down and finally figured out what her face had been trapped in... Yaoyorozu's boobs. "Oh, my god..." She said quietly in shock as she began to glow pink from blushing. Sure, she and Yaoyorozu had started dating at the start of the training camp, but this relationship was still new and they hadn't gotten NEARLY this far in the intimacy department yet, sharing kisses on the cheek and TINY PECKS on the lips, so her head being smothered in Momo's cleavage was a bit more advanced than she was ready for.
But this sound was still enough to rouse the rich girl in question. "Ngh... Kyoka? Is everything okay?" She asked groggily, causing Jiro to panic and fall to the floor on her butt.
"Oh, y-yeah! Everything's fine, Yaomomo! Don't even worry about it! All good here!" She said in a small panic, before returning to her senses and remembering what happened. The class had been taken by something that looked like an oversized wind up toy and a massive tendril. Neither of those were members of the League of Villains, which was good, but it's still not great to be taken to an unfamiliar place by unfamiliar beings against your will. She then began to look around and found they appeared to be in some kind of movie theater, several sizeable leather chairs with cupholders, capable capable of reclining, were facing towards a large screen behind her. And in those seats were her teachers and the rest of the class, each in their own seat...
...Well, almost. There were a few who were in the same seat together, one sat on the others lap, like she pieced together she must have been with Yaoyorozu: Bakugo and Uraraka, Midoriya and Asui, then finally Kirishima and Ashido. All of the class pairs so far. "Oh, man. Guys, wake up!" She called out to all of them. They were in their hero outfits, despite having started the day with no classes going on, but she wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth and plugged her earphone jacks into her boot ports. She angled them up at the ceiling so she wouldn't deafen her classmates or teacher's, but it was still a loud sound very close that alerted everyone.
"What the heck!? What happened?!" Kirishima exclaimed as he jolted awake.
And then, everyone noticed their surroundings. "Where are we?! This isn't UA's campus!" Mineta exclaimed in fear.
"Do you think the League of Villains kidnapped us?!" Kaminari asked, equally afraid.
"I doubt if. If they had, they probably would've killed us." Asui said, bluntly as ever, much to the disturbance of the others, especially the more cowardly of the class.
"Not to mention, I find it hard to believe they'd leave us unrestrained and all together like this." Iida added.
"Not to mention, a movie theater? Seems like a weird place to keep us instead of in cages in some run-down old building." Sato threw in as well.
"Sure wasn't HALF this nice when they kidnapped me." Bakugo agreed with Sato's sentiment.
"So, we can rule out the League, but it still raises the question of who took us... And why?" Aizawa said suspiciously.
"I believe we can answer that." A female voice rang out as a flash of light occured on the stage in front of the movie screen. And when it faded, two figures were seen in front of the screen.
The first was a woman with purple skin, wearing an outfit similar to a belly dancer: a glittery silver and black top that barely covered her breasts and ornate chains for headwear, necklace and bracelets with red jewels in them. She didn't have the skirt to match the top, but that was because there was no need to cover herself from the waist down... because from there, she had the body of a massive snake, with a double row of black scales on the underside of the body with purple scales on the top side almost dark enough to be confused with black. And on her back from her waist to the bottom of her head was the infamous hood of a cobra. She had a heart-shaped face with eyes possessing black sclera like Mina with yellow irises like the heroine-in-training, but much lighter, close to white and much brighter, almost looking as if they were glowing. She also had pointed ears and long black hair, extending past her waist.
And the second was similarly animalistic, looking like a humanoid praying mantis. An incredible lithe figure, his skin being the tough chitin of an insect, colored black with emerald green visible in between the joints of the chitin. His feet stood on their toes, backwards-facing knees, two pairs of thin, but capable insect wings on his back and the iconic serrated forearms and sickle-like hands, but notably, they folded forward to reveal human hands underneath. And he had a surprisingly human face, triangular with yellowish-green eyes and pupils with no sclera. And on top of his head was slicked back dark green hair. Close to black, but still green.
"Greetings students and teachers of UA. Do not be alarmed, for we mean you know harm." The snake woman told them.
"Says the people who kidnapped us! Big mistake, you damn villains!" Bakugo snapped, moving Uraraka off his lap enough for him to stand up, before launching himself towards them with his Quirk.
"Kacchan, wait!" Midoriya tried to call him back, but it was too late and his former friend unleashed a blast that engulfed to two figures.
Bakugo smirked at this, but that smirk quickly faded as the smoke cleared to reveal the two figures COMPLETELY unharmed by the explosions, not even a scratch, burn mark or bit of dirt on their forms from the explosion. "No way! It didn't do a thing!" Sero exclaimed.
"It can't be! The only other person who never took ANY damage from Bakugo's explosions is All Might!" Ashido said in disbelief.
"Bakugo! Get out of there!" Uraraka cried out.
The snake girl then snapped her fingers, causing Bakugo to disappear. "BAKUGO!" The entire class screamed, teachers included...
"Eh?!" Uraraka cried in surprise as she suddenly found herself rising a bit, due to Bakugo reappearing exactly where he had been when they first arrived, back in the seat he shared with Ochako with the gravity girl sat in his lap.
"See? Not here to harm you. If she REALLY wanted to, she could've done this." The mantis man said, snapping his fingers, the screen behind them coming to life and showing the snake girl snapping her fingers at Bakugo. But this time, instead of disappearing, they watched in horror as Bakugo AGONIZINGLY melted: first his skin turning to liquid and falling off, his muscles then falling out like ground meat coming out of a meat grinder, his organs cracking as if they were made of glass, then shattering and his bones falling apart and turning to dust.
"I've been traumatized... Again..." Aoyama said in horror.
"Did you really HAVE to do that?" The snake woman asked her partner.
"Have to? No. But it got the point across. Now they know not to try anything like that again." The mantis man said.
"Enough! Who are you? And why did you bring us here?" Aizawa demanded, although there was a clear hint of nervousness in his voice. He had tried to use his Quirk on them when the snake girl snapped Bakugo away, but it didn't do anything. So, whatever they were doing, it didn't involve Quirks. Meaning he was basically powerless to defend his students from them.
"Very well. Those are reasonable questions." The snake woman said, then moved forward a bit. "I am Anemone, the cosmic serpent of the multiverse. I travel the depths of the universe and consume the cosmic energy in the deepest reaches of space." She explained.
"A cobra that flies through space and consumes everything it comes across... It can't be! Are you... Apophis?" Yaoyorozu asked.
Jiro rolled her eyes at this. "Right, Yaomomo. This is the giant snake monster that wants to eat the sun. Sure, she's a snake, but she's not big enough to eat a house, let alone the sun." She said, the group having heard a bit of Egyptian Mythology in English class. The snake woman smirked at this, before spinning and transforming into a massive cobra that took up the entirety of the theater, letting out a thunderous hiss at the group, before returning to the far less imposing woman from before. "N-nevermind..." Jiro said shakily, trembling uncontrollably.
"That must have been how we were all brought here. I thought it was a tentacle or something. But it must have been her tail." Shoji realized.
The mantis man then stepped up. "And I am Maverick. A spirit of mischief by trade, but I also catalogue the nature of the universes of the multiverse." He explained. "And, I also catalogue the various heroes of these universes. So I get to sit around all day watching heroes do hero stuff and Anemone likes to watch when she's not eating space energy." He added, the screen then showing a cartoonish version of the two sitting in the theater, watching the screen while Maverick at a handful of popcorn and took a bite from a candy bar while Anemone drank from her fountain soda.
"The multiverse? But that's just a theory." Iida said.
"What is the multiverse exactly?" Kaminari asked.
"Tch. Idiot. It means that there's a shitload of different universes out there." Bakugo explained.
"That's... a very rough description, but correct. It's the idea that there's an infinite number of universes out there, connected but out of reach of each other, forming an infinite expanse of different universes." Anemone elaborated, lifting her snake body a bit more to raise up her human body and gain everyone's attention. "Some are almost exactly the same, only with minor differences, like some of you having different hair color or being friends with people you weren't before. Some are still similar, but significantly more different, like you having different families than you do now, maybe different powers, or even living in different places in the world. And then there are those that are more different than one could imagine, where none of you exist or where Quirks aren't a thing." She explained, the screen showing images from what had to be different universes, a pink-haired Uraraka and a black-haired Toga being the best of friends, another where Midoriya stood with two green-haired women with telekinetic powers stood behind him, looking to be his sisters and a third where police were arresting a number of criminals, with no pro heroes to be seen and no hint of superpowers being used.
Many were awed at this. "Incredible. I knew about the theory, but to actually see it be real is amazing." Midnight said in awe.
"So that means there's an infinite number of heroes out there in the multiverse, right!?" Midoriya asked in amazement, readying a notebook and pen, several wondering where he pulled them from.
"Then, since you brought us here, that must mean we're the best ones and you wanted to see us, right?!" Kaminari theorized excitedly, his ego skyrocketing as he believed these two apparent gods came to adore him and his classmates and get his autograph.
"Exact opposite, actually. We're kinda disappointed." Maverick explained, causing Kaminari to facevault.
"Disappointed? But why!? We're doing awesome training to become heroes!" Ashido declared.
"Yeah. What did we do that's disappointing?!" Kirishima asked in disbelief.
"You simply don't meet the standards of other heroes of the multiverse. We're used to seeing heroes that, at a moment's notice, will put their lives on the line without hesitation in order to save innocent people." Anemone explained.
"What!? But we'd do that, too! If someone's in danger, we'd do whatever we could to save them!" Asui insisted.
"No, you wouldn't~" Maverick said in sing-song, appearing in front of Asui and bending over backwards so his face was right below her chin, the close proximity ensuring he had her full attention, as it seemed clear he was now targeting her specifically, as if she in particular wouldn't do whatever she could to ensure someone's safety.
"How could you say that?!" She asked, seeming hurt at her determination of being a hero called into question.
Maverick then pulled away from her, disappearing and reappearing beside Anemone. "One word: Bakugo." He explained as the screen showed Bakugo being taken through the portal by the League of Villains, making it clear what the mantis man was talking about. When Bakugo got kidnapped.
"Your friend was in dire need. And while yes, the heroes did come up with a plan to save him, it would've failed without the intervention of Midoriya and the rest of his rescue team. They were true heroes, putting in the effort to ensure Bakugo's safe return. But they were the only ones, as the rest of the class refused to join them and save him. And one of you even tried to prevent them from doing so." Anemone explained as Asui was seen trying to talk them out of going.
"But, they didn't have hero licenses! That means they were breaking the rules and being vigilantes. They'd be as bad as the villains!" Asui reasoned.
"And if they didn't save Bakugo, he would've eventually been brainwashed into joining the League. And if they couldn't, he'd probably be killed and turned into a Nomu." Maverick explained, holding up his hands with his palms upturned. "So, let's see: saving someone from certain doom, even without having a license- OR, kidnapping a child and either forcing him to be evil and killing him and turning into a zombie monster if they couldn't convince him to be evil." He listed the actions of the two groups, holding up his left hand when explaining the actions of the Bakugo rescue squad, then holding up his right hand when pointing out the actions of the villains, raising and lowering his hands as if they were a scale, determining whose actions were worse. "I think one's a lot badder than the other." He said, holding his right hand down low while raising his left hand up high, emphasizing there was far more weight behind the actions of the villains.
Anemone narrowed her eyes at her fellow host. "Do you HAVE to be so mocking about it?" She asked.
The mantis man thought about it for a moment, before looking back at her. "Yes." He admitted rather simply, nodding. He then looked back at Asui. "And then you cried and begged for their forgiveness afterwards. But not because you felt bad for not joining them, but because you didn't do enough to stop them. So, even though Bakugo wouldn't have survived without them, you still thought it was the wrong thing to do. And apologized to make yourself feel better. Boo-hoo. Let me play you a sad song on the world's smallest violin." The mantis creature said, rubbing his thumb and pointer fingers together.
"It doesn't matter. It was still against the law. We have licenses, registrations and regulations for a reason, so society doesn't descend into anarchy. Yes, they saved Bakugo, but it doesn't change the fact their actions weren't legal." Aizawa snapped, irritated by the insect being clearly mocking one of his students and trying to excuse vigilante behavior as if he was encouraging it.
"Well, I believe a certain ninja-cyborg said it best." Anemone said as the screen came to life once again.
A cyborg was seen driving a car. "Being legal doesn't make it right." The cybernetic man declared as he sped down the road.
"Many other worlds out there also don't condone heroes acting outside of the law and calling them vigilantes. But they do it anyway, because they can save lives during natural disasters or protect people from dangerous villains. Because it was the right thing to do. Another hero had another amazing way of putting it." Anemone elaborated, showing a new clip on the screen.
A teenage boy was seen sitting on his bed, talking to someone. "When you can do the things that I can... but you don't... And then the bad things happen? They happen because of you." The boy explained to the man he was talking to, who seemed to be greatly intrigued with what the boy was saying.
Many of the students were shocked at the boy's words. "Man... I never thought about it like that before." Sato admitted.
"When he says it like that, it makes sense. Sitting by idly when you have the ability to help does seem negligent at best." Yaoyorozu said.
"But until you get your hero licenses, it's not your job to do this hero stuff and you'd be interfering in hero business. It'd be like going all private eye and trying to do detective work in police investigations. Not only could you interfere with said investigation and ruin the work the police have done, but you'd be the one in trouble for obstruction." Present Mic explained.
"And what if the person whose job it is isn't there or just isn't doing their job. Did you all see the footage of Bakugo being attacked by the sludge villain? The heroes were all sitting around with their thumbs up their asses until All Might handled business." Maverick explained.
"I did see that footage. I do have to admit, the actions of those heroes were shameful." Midnight admitted.
Everyone thought for a moment and couldn't deny what these two beings were saying made sense. "You have a point. Is there anything else about our world your disappointed about?" Midoriya asked.
"The fact you turned being a hero into a glamorous profession and get paid for it." Anemone explained.
Bakugo groaned at this. "Oh, great. We've got Stain fanatics here." He grumbled.
"No. That man is an overzealous extremist who took things entirely too far. That being said, he's not entirely wrong. One should be a hero because it's the right thing to do with no ulterior motives. Hell, Bakugo's entire reason for being a hero is to become rich and famous. And you heroes are constantly stepping on each other's toes and trying to one-up each other in order to stay relevant and make more money. And some heroes have to retire or are fired if they can't stay in the spotlight. Now, having a public image is not necessarily wrong, people getting to know you is good for public morale, as they meet you and you help them out, so get to see you are there for them, which makes them feel safe and secure. But the problem with your society is that it's becoming rarer and rarer that heroes ARE there for the people and not just to make money." The snake woman explained.
Once again, they had to admit she wasn't wrong. "It's true. I even told young Midoriya as such, being a hero used to be about helping the community and helping the people, even if it's boring or mundane, but it was still important, as it made people happy and allowed them to feel as though they were being cared for." All Might said.
"So, was that all you brought us here for? A lecture?" Mineta complained.
"No. We are here to show you the action of a hero from another world. See him help people because it's the right thing to do. And yes, he does have some of the problems we just lectured you on, but he learns from it and grows, becoming and better person and a better hero. And it's our hope that by seeing this, it will help you students see the right path to becoming true heroes." Anemone explained.
"Plus, it's just a fun adventure and we wanted to see what you guys thought of it." Maverick added.
"Hero from another world?! Awesome!" Kirishima declared.
"I wonder what his Quirk is? Maybe it's like one of ours!" Ashido cheered excitedly.
"It could be both intriguing and informative to see the exploits of a fellow seeker of justice." Iida admitted.
"That's a nice offer and everything, but we don't exactly have time to sit around and watch some other hero's life. We have responsibilities back at UA. The students need to go to class and we have paperwork, plus meetings with the faculty on our plans for the future dealing with the League of Villains, along with our normal hero work. Nezu's probably coming up with a punishment for us for every minute we're gone." Aizawa said.
"Eh. I wouldn't worry about that." Maverick said. "You remember our buddy we sent through that tear in reality ahead of Anemone?" He asked.
"The tinker toy-looking thing? He's an intruder on campus! They'll probably think he's a villain and turn him into a scrap heap!" Bakugo snapped.
"I doubt it. He's an alien." Maverick declared.
Ashido lit up at this. "No way! Aliens are real!? And he's one of them! That's so cool!" She exclaimed excitedly.
"Indeed. He's actually from the universe we're about to show you. He is known as a Chronosapien. Their entire species has the ability of Chronokinesis, the ability to manipulate time: speeding it up, slowing it down or stopping it altogether, among other things. Ordinarily, they can only do so in an extremely localized area around themselves, but he's a peak specimen of their species, so his abilities are already as good as their species gets. But we've further amplified him with our cosmic power. And with that boost in his abilities, he has freezed time throughout your ENTIRE universe. And he will restart it once we return you. Nothing will change from the time you left to the time you get back." Anemone explained.
Everyone was in awe at these abilities. "Amazing." Yaoyorozu said in awe.
"Will we be seeing more aliens like him?" Midoriya asked.
The two beings looked at each other with a smirk. "You could say that." Maverick said, holding back some laughter.
"Then I say let's do it!" Ashido cheered, wanting to see more aliens.
"If these two truly believe it will help us to become the best heroes we can be, I'd say it's in our best interest to go along with it." Iida said dutifully.
"It doesn't seem like we have any other choice, so fine." Aizawa sighed.
"Wonderful. And one more thing. Midoriya." Anemone said, waving her hand, a brand new notebook and pen appearing in his hands.
"Thank you, ma'am. I'm really looking forward to seeing whatever you plan to show us." He said.
"Great. Then if you need the bathroom, it's the door on the left-hand side of the theater. The ONLY door there, you can't miss it. As for food, literally just think of whatever you want and it will come out of a portal in front of you, complete with a tray and the proper utensils to eat the food with." Maverick explained.
Bakugo tried it, moving Uraraka off his lap and into the seat beside him, then thinking of his desired food, a portal opening up in front of him, a tray slowly starting to emerge. He brought his hands up and grabbed the sides of the tray, pulling it the rest of the way from the portal, revealing a bowl of karakarakuo tsukemen, a ramen dish piled high with chili pepper. "Aww, hell yeah!" He declared, laying the tray across the armrests of his chair, grabbing the chop sticks and starting to chow down.
Everyone was amazed at this and started getting their own meals. "Alright, then. Looks like you're all ready. So, I believe it is time you bear witness to the world... of Ben 10." Anemone declared.
