When Lincoln and Lily landed both of them were unconscious

however during the trip Lily's body was returned to its mechanical origins and was promptly destroyed during the landing

luckily for her, her conciseness was stored in the phantom ruby and since only the arms of metal knuckles remained the ruby decided her form should be that of an echidna

the phantom ruby gave her a new body that of a child female echidna with spiked hands in five fingered gloves and a traditional dress

soon they would awaken in a world similar to their original one

right now however, the two slept in the forest.

officer Wade whipple was by his desk shooting paper balls into a trash bin when suddenly...

*RING RING RING*

he picked it up

"Green hill sheriff's department." Wade said

"hello Wade. is Tom there? It's carl." Carl aka Crazy Carl said

"hey Carl. And no tom left a few hours ago." Wade said "did you find the blue devil or something?"

"no but something crash landed in the forest behind my shed I went to go check it out but I got caught in my own net could you help me down?" Carl asked

"of course I will be right there." Wade said before exiting the police station and getting in his car and driving there

he decided to call Tom on the way there

"hey Wade what's up?" Tom said on the other end

"hey Tom it's Wade." Wade said "I just got a call from crazy carl he got trapped in his net because he went to look for something that crashed in the forest behind his shed."

"oh ok do you need help?" Tom asked

"no I'm fine I'm an officer." Wade said "but I'll call you if I need help."

"ok then." Tom said "have a good night Wade."

"you too." Wade said before tom hung up

soon he arrived at the scene

"hey Carl give me a minute. I'll get you down." Wade said before grabbing some hedge trimmers and cutting the rope

"thanks Wade." Carl said upon getting up "could you check out what landed?"

"sure I guess." Wade said while thinking (it's probably nothing)

Wade went deeper into the forest before noticing someone slumped against a tree

"excuse me sir or ma'am are you ok?" Wade asked

no response

then Wade noticed that something was next to them

so he shined his flashlight at them

and they definitely weren't human

one was an somewhat spikey somewhat fluffy orange humanoid creature and the other one was a blue robot

however his flash caused the orange one to wake up which caused the robot to boot up

"uhhh meow?" Lincoln said before he covered Wade's mouth before he could scream

"no hurt!" Lily said

"Lily?" Lincoln asked "is that you?"

Lily nodded

"no hurt!" Lily said

"i know that! I'm just gonna get him to not scream!" Lincoln whisper yelled before turning to face Wade

"are you going to scream?"

Wade shook his head

"good because I'm gonna move my hand and you will not tell anyone what you saw. Are we clear?" Lincoln asked

Wade nodded again

"good." Lincoln said as he removed his hand from wade's mouth "now let's go Lily."

Lily refused to move

"come on we gotta go!" Lincoln said

Lily pointed at Wade

"please tell me you're not suggesting what i think you're suggesting." Lincoln said

lily nodded

Lincoln let out a groan

"mister...uhhh." Lincoln began before reading wade's name tag "Wade could you help us?"

"uh sure..." Wade said "go to the green hill police station- oh wait you probably don't know where that is."

"I can figure it out just point in general direction." Lincoln said

Wade pointed in the direction of the town before asking "you have a plan to get there unnoticed?"

"of course I do." Lincoln said "the didn't call me "the man with a plan." Back home for nothing."

Lincoln picked up Lily and flew off

"why do I have the feeling that this is going to change my life?" Wade asked himself

Wade after saying he found nothing to crazy Carl went back to the station to lock up for the night but when he got out of his car Lincoln and lily stepped out of the station

"oh good you made it." Lincoln said "I started to think you tattled on us."

"that would be dumb." Wade said

"agreed." Lincoln said

"so what do you need help with?" Wade asked

"we need a place to stay." Lincoln said "and you are going to help us."

"listen I do not know the first thing about taking care of anything my only sibling is my sister who's older than me and she's a jerk." Wade said

"relax you won't have to take care of Lily other than cooking." Lincoln said "I've been helping take care of my younger siblings ever since I could help."

"well then follow me." Wade said

"before we go one more thing." Lincoln said before turning his hand into a Gatling gun

"if you hurt her in any way you're dead meat. Are we clear?"

"crystal." Wade said

then Lincoln put the gun away

"good." Lincoln said " now lock up and let's get out of here."

Wade locked up and then drove the two to his house

"this is where you will be staying." Wade said as he showed him his garage "I call it the "wade cave"."

(that's kinda sad.) Lincoln thought to himself

"feel free to make yourself at home." Wade said before leaving

Lily used the phantom ruby to make a sleeping bag for herself

"good night linky." Lily said before falling asleep

Lincoln stayed awake the whole night to make sure Wade didn't try anything

the next morning

Lincoln was still up by the time Lily woke up

"morning Lily." Lincoln said

Lily simply let out a yawn and got out of the sleeping bag

when they went to wade's kitchen they saw that he was making toaster waffles while in teenage mutant ninja turtles PJ's

"you want some eggo's?" Wade asked Lily

Lily nodded and Wade served her a plate

(maybe this won't be so bad.) Lincoln thought to himself

this the closest thing we'll get to a "Wade adopts metal sonic" fic and that makes me a bit sad
