Once Predaking and Optimus left, Lancex headed over to meet with his friends that he had known for so long. They were happy to see him, and even happier to see him happy, though it confused them to see him head over to them. Cor, Cid, and Gladiolus could only wonder what was going on and if they should be concerned about things. "So how was the festival?" Cid asked, wanting to test the waters.
"All of us had a wonderful time at that. Thank you so much for the assist" Lancex replied.
"Assist?" Cor asked.
"Optimus mentioned that you had given him the tickets. I don't think he realized that he wasn't supposed to tell. But then, Optimus was always one to give credit where credit is due" Lancex explained. The others nodded. True, they hadn't expected Optimus to tell Lancex, but hearing that Optimusnever took credit for other's ideas made them realize that Optimus knew the friends meant much to Lancex.
"So if all went well, why did you send them away to talk to us?" Gladiolus asked, a little concerned.
"Because I feel in my spark that I am supposed to bond with them, or as you might say marry them. Would you, my friends, allow me to unite with Optimus and Predaking and ask them to bond with me?" Lancex asked, hoping that they would agree. Gladiolus and Cor were surprised while Cid just smiled.
"If you don't mind me asking, why are you concerned about what we think, Lancex?" Cid asked.
"Well, my brother is no more and neither are my parents. You are the closest thing to a family I have and your opinions matter to me" Lancex answered in all seriousness. The three nodded.
"I am fine with you bonding to Optimus and Predaking, as I can see that they make you happy. Go forth and ask" Gladiolus answered. Lancex was relieved, as he feared Gladiolus would be the hardest to win over.
"I promised your brother I would protect you, and to this point, I have done my job. However, I can see that Optimus and Predaking are extremely protective of you and I think your brother would want me to hand over the reigns to them. Go for it" Cor answered next. That was two. Lancex could only hope Cid would accept this as well.
"You know in your spark what the right thing to do it. Go forth and do it" Cid said. Lancex was stunned but happy. All three of his friends would support him bonding to Optimus and Predaking. Now that he knew he had their support, he knew what he needed to do next. He said goodbye to his friends and headed for home, a great big smile on his face. Now he just needed to make this bond thing happen.
