Chapter 51:

Tournament

Ana stood next to Sanae as she waited for the announcement to board the plane that would take Ana to Domino city. Her friend was holding back laughter. When they made eye contact, Sanae lost it and burst out laughing.

"It's been two weeks already! When are you going to stop laughing?" Ana glared at her friend.

"Probably never. You tripped on top of Kaiba Seto and then had to be taken to the hospital in a La han' dress. The way the nurses treated you like some sort of celebrity was pff haha!" Sanae laughed loudly.

Ana blushed as she remembered her date with Seto two weeks prior. Seto had taken her to the hospital, and she found out that she had a slight sprain that had taken a few days to heal. The moment they walked into the hospital, people were bending over backwards to attend to her. It had been very uncomfortable. Sanae had been visiting her father—who was now thankfully out of the hospital—when Sanae passed by and saw Ana sitting in the waiting room. Sanae had burst into laughter. I'm never going to live that down. What's more annoying is Amin-chan didn't seem to notice at all how embarrassing that was.

"So… how are you taking the long-distance relationship?" Sanae grinned at her.

Ana sighed. "It's not long distance. He just had to go back to Domino city for a couple weeks for work and to set up the tournament."

"Is your heart yearning for him, yet?" Sanae teased.

"No." Ana ignored her friend. How could it be yearning? He's called me every single night and messaged me throughout the day. I'm almost curious if he's even really that busy.

"Flight 456 for Domino City, now boarding zone 1." They made the announcement over the intercom.

"Well, that's me." Ana picked up her bag. Sanae dug something out of her pocket and shoved it deep into Ana's purse. "What was that?"

"Just in case. It's better to be prepared than sorry later." Sanae grinned at her. "Have fun at your boyfriend's."

Ana blushed and scowled at the same time. She hurried to board. Seto had mailed her ticket to her house. When she saw the first-class ticket, she was tempted to burn it, but resisted. Ana boarded the plane and sat down in a very spacious and comfy seat at the front of the plane. Hmm, this is a very nice seat…. I wonder what Sanae shoved into my bag? Ana opened her bag and shifted stuff around to find what her friend had shoved inside. She stared blankly at the black packets at the bottom of her bag until she read what the contents were. Ana quickly snapped her bag closed and shoved it under the seat. Her heart was pounding in her ears. Sanae! What the frick do you think I'm going to do with condoms! We've barely dated a couple months. I've only kissed him twice. Ana buried her face in her hands and resisted groaning at her friend's prank. She pulled out her phone and tried to distract herself with it until the pilot requested they turn off all electronics for takeoff. Ana put her phone away and tried thinking about other things to distract herself. I've never even seen him with his shirt off…. AHHHHHHHHH! The plane ride was a constant fight with her thoughts until they landed in Domino City. She got off the plane feeling very exhausted. When she arrived, she made her way out to the lobby and looked around at the people. It had been a while since she'd been alone like this. Her breathing sped up.

"Sakurai-oneechan."

Ana turned to the familiar voice and found Mokuba waving at her. She let out a small sigh of relief. A guard and a butler followed behind Mokuba as he practically skipped up to her.

"Oneechan?" Ana asked when he made it to her. It feels odd having him call me older sister.

"I can't?" Mokuba gave her puppy dog eyes.

Ana shrugged. "I guess it's fine. It just feels a little weird. Is Amin… Kaiba-san already at the site?"

Mokuba grinned. "Yeah, he's putting out any fires with the tournament, since it's starting in three hours. I think though he would have rather ditched and picked you up."

"Ha…" Ana didn't know what to say to that.

"Anyway, let's go! There will be a lot of traffic, so we need to head there now." Mokuba headed off, and Ana followed.

Of course, the car the young Kaiba had come to pick her up in was a black limo. The butler that Mokuba brought with him put her bag in the back and drove them.

"Do you always have a guard?" Ana asked as she glanced at the big burly man sitting in the back seat with them.

"Not always, but I've been kidnapped a lot at these events, so Nii-san prefers it if I have one." Mokuba said this casually. "Oh! But don't worry that hasn't happened for a while and the tournament will be at Kaiba land so we'll be safe."

Ana got an uncomfortable feeling in the pit of her stomach. I hope that's the case. When they got to the park, the limo took them through a private entrance that led to right outside the Kaiba stadium where the tournament would take place. Mokuba chatted away about the park as she led her through the halls of the stadium.

"There's a waiting room for spectators, but we've got our own VIP viewing room too. Or if you want, I can kick someone out of a front-row seat." Mokuba offered cheerfully.

"I would rather you not kick anyone out of their seats." Ana frowned at him.

"Oh, ok." Mokuba looked a little put out. "Well, if you change your mind just let me know."

"She won't change her mind. She's too nice to kick someone out of their seat."

Ana turned and found Kaiba walking up to them. He was wearing his signature white coat, leather pants, purple turtleneck, and his black boots that he always appeared in for his duel tournaments. Well, he wears it well… She blushed remembering her earlier thoughts.

"Nii-san! I brought Sakurai- oneechan." Mokuba smiled widely at his brother's approach.

Seto raised an eyebrow at him. "Oneechan… Never mind. Do whatever."

Ana noticed the dark circles under his eyes. "Amin-chan, when was the last time you slept?"

"Sleep? Can you define that for me? I don't quite remember." He scratched the back of his neck and yawned.

"You know, it's where you lay down for over ten minutes, so you don't die." Ana shook her head at him.

Seto smirked. "Is that a thing? The lack of oxygen to my brain has erased all unnecessary information."

Mokuba looked at his brother, surprised. "Nii-san, did you just make a joke?"

"Oh, he tries to joke all the time, that was one of his sort of simi funny ones." Ana chuckled.

Seto scowled at her. "Sort of simi funny? Can't you just say it was funny?"

"Of course not. Don't you know me by now?" Ana smiled at him and then realized that Mokuba was looking at them, grinning from ear to ear. Well, this is slightly… very awkward.

Ana noticed a few people approaching from where Seto had come from. It was a group of five people, one of them was very short with extremely wild spikey, red, purple, and yellow hair.He seemed to notice them, though mostly Seto.

"Oh, Kaiba-kun." Yugi Moto waved at them and smiled awkwardly.

A blond boy who looked a little rough around the edges pointed at Seto threateningly. "Today I'm going to beat you!"

Seto turned to the group with dead pan eyes. "Ah, there goes the last of my brain cells."

Ana raised an eyebrow and looked at Mokuba for help. Mokuba came to her rescue and introduced the group.

"This is Yugi Mitō the King of Games, Joey Wheeler he's been a runner-up at a lot of dual tournaments, and Yugi's other friends, Tristen, Tea and um… I think you 're Joey's sister?" Mokuba looked at the delicate girl standing next to the loud blond named Joey.

"Serenity." She quietly introduced herself.

Joey looked annoyed. "Hey, Mokuba, you've known us for how long now? Don't you know all our names."

"I've barely ever talked to your sister." Mokuba frowned.

"Are their names worth remembering?" Seto looked rather in-between pissed off and tired.

Joey glared at Seto. "You should remember our names, because I'm going to beat you!"

What does remembering their names have to do with him beating Amin-chan? Ana's eye twitched a little as she smiled. The girl with short brown hair named Tea interjected.

"Mokuba, who's your friend?" Tea asked politely, and Ana bowed in response.

Ana answered herself, "I'm Sakurai Ana. Kaiba-san's girlfriend."

The group, minus Yugi, who just laughed awkwardly, looked very shocked. Joey looked at Mokuba wide eyed. "Crap man, how did you get an older girlfriend?"

Ana's eye twitched a little more. She might have laughed his comment off, except that he seemed serious. Mokuba looked at him like he was dumb.

Yugi interjected. "Um, no Joey. She meant Kaiba-kun's girlfriend. You know. The one I was telling you about from the phone call.

"No, seriously?" Joey looked even more shocked than he burst out laughing. Joey turned to Ana and asked, "How much did Kaiba-san pay you just to say that? Did he pay you to act like his girlfriend?"

Ana felt her brain cells draining fast. "Amin-chan, do you think you could afford me?"

"Nope," Seto answered bluntly.

Ana turned back to Joey and forced a smile onto her face. "I really am his girlfriend."

Joey laughed even harder, not seeming to believe her.

"Joey…." His friends looked at him, a little concerned.

Ana could feel a headache coming on. "I've only been talking with him for two minutes and I already want to punch him."

Seto looked at her and sighed. "It took you that long?"

Joey slapped his knee like it was the best joke he'd ever heard. "No, seriously. Who in their right mind would want to date Kaiba-san?"

Ana smiled and calmly walked up to Joey, who looked at her confused. Before he could react, she punched him hard in the gut and he collapsed, holding his stomach. His friends didn't seem surprised, and even his sister just seemed embarrassed. Ana looked down at the surprised Joey.

"Let's try that again." Ana opened her mouth and cupped her hands around them, then shouted as loudly as she could. "My name is Sakurai Ana and I'm Kaiba Seto's girlfriend!"
