The Municipal District, Sera's office
Sera was pacing back and forth. It had been about a month since she had been stripped of her rank as General of the exorcist forces. She had heard about Adam's moronic little speech. This drivel he was spouting was meant to gain allies and support for that brats cause. Only about 20 percent of the exorcists ended up siding with those two traitors, but that was still a problem. Those turncoats were still gaining support no matter how small and she needed all the power she could get in order to restore things to their natural order.
There was a rhythmic knock on her door "Come in" she prompted. In walked a regal looking Angel wearing a white overcoat with gold highlights, a white top hat with a golden crown encircling it, and a red sash across his chest. "Lord Forfax, welcome. Please sit down, we have much to discuss." "Is this about the ongoing feud between you and Emily?" Forfax replied while looking at Sera in a bored manner.
Sera was shocked "How could you possibly know that? I haven't said a word to anyone." "You didn't have to Sera. I am the angel of Astronomy, there is not much in creation that I cannot see or hear. Now why have you called me here? I am very busy and hate having my time wasted." Forfax said. Sera was a little shaken up but tried to calm her nerves "Alright, straight to the point. I want you to support my side and try to gain as many allies as we can."
Forfax simply replied "Why would I do that? I happened to hear Emily's side as well and it seems like a wonderful idea. These souls might be able to change for the better. These sinners can escape the pit and come live in paradise." Sera was angry now "You would just let those vile demons into Heaven? They can't really change, you know that. Those sinners will strip Heaven of its virtue, of its perfection and turn it into a Hell for us to live in as well."
Forfax scoffed before saying "That is yet to be seen, Sera. I happen to talk with my counterpart The Goetic Prince Stolas quite often and he is very much like me. He is a good man, Demon or not. You are condemning these souls simply because they reside in Hell. What makes these demons deserving infernal blaze? Is it where they were born, is it their actions in life, or is this all just an argument to cover up your own sense of self worth and entitlement?"
Sera was shaking in anger at this point. How dare this angel who is only good for looking at stars lecture her? She was righteous, she was the image of perfection, she was divine. She shouted "How dare you say those things about me!! Do you have any idea who I am?!? My family will destroy you!!" Before Sera could say anything else a powerful pressure filled the room. This felt like being trapped underneath a cruise liner. Sera found that she couldn't breathe.
Forfax slowly stood up and walked over to the gasping angel. "Do you forget who you address? Did you forget your whole family cannot stand up to my power? Out of respect for your father I will let this insult go but make no mistake. I am not to be trifled with, I am not to be disrespected. Let this display of power serve as a warning and if you ever speak to me like that again I will grind your bones to dust and bathe a star in your blood." With that final threat Forfax released the pressure and walked out.
Sera gasped as soon as the pressure was gone. That idea didn't work. Clearly she underestimated Forfax but she won't give up so easily. She had other ways to sway people to her cause and no matter how dirty or underhanded these tactics were, it was all serving the greater good.
The Temple of The Seven Virtues
Emily figured that even if Micheal was on their side they would need more support. With this in mind Emily called a meeting with the Seven Virtues of Heaven. Their power was just below that of the Archangels and could prove useful. Emily slowly flew into the center of the temple and bowed saying "I Emily of the Seraphim humbly ask for an audience." After she finished speaking a golden light filled the room and seven angels flashed into the room.
The Virtue known as Kindness stepped forward and said "Rise my child, what did you come here to discuss?" Emily said "There is a division growing amongst Heaven. Princess Charlie wishes to use her Hotel to redeem sinners and have their souls reside here. She knows about Hell's overpopulation problem and wants to redeem those souls instead of our exorcists erasing them. As heir to the throne she wants to help save her people instead of watching them get slaughtered year after year. I have come to ask for your support in this endeavor."
The Virtues decided to put it to a vote. In the end Humility, Kindness, and Patience agreed to support their plan while Temperance, Diligence, and Charity chose to stand by Sera. Justice is the one who decided to stay neutral. She may have her opinions but she was always fair. She decided to simply stand by the winner whatever the outcome.
Downtown Heaven
Emily left for her Chambers in Heavens downtown area. She had talked with Micheal often and she had gotten his word that he would speak to the other Archangels about this sensitive issue. Tomorrow he would tell her where the other angels had sided. As she landed in her chambers and got ready for bed she decided to write the princess a letter.
"Dear Charlie, I hope this letter finds you well. How are things at the hotel? How is it going for those that hope for redemption? If you could write me back with a status update I would appreciate it. Unfortunately, things in Heaven are complicated at the moment. Sera is trying to gather as many allies as she can and already most of the exorcists stand with her. I am worried that they might go against my orders and attempt an extermination. I pray for your safety and for all those who reside in your hotel. On a more positive note, I have learned that Lord Forfax the angel of Astronomy supports your cause apparently in part thanks to Prince Stolas of the Ars Goetia. Please be sure to thank him for me. Just today I had a meeting with the Seven Virtues, after everything was said and done three supported you and three supported Sera while Justice abstained; Her nature requires that she remain impartial after all. We are all trying our best to gather support but as the months go on I am afraid things will come to a head. Prepare yourself, I know we can get through this if we just believe. Emily set the quill down and closed the ink bottle. She folded the letter neatly and placed it inside an envelope sealing it with her seal. She opened a portal and sent it through, hopefully Charlie would get it soon. After closing the portal she walked over and laid on her bed. She tried to go to sleep but couldn't get over seeing the fire in Sera's eyes at the trial. She seemed so sadistic and cruel, she had never seemed that way before. Did she change so suddenly or was Emily so blind in her friendship with her that she never truly saw what Sera was?
She turned over clutching her pillow and went to sleep sending prayers to God. He may be in the highest sanctum but she hoped her prayers would reach him. She hoped he would descend from his isolation and put a stop to this madness before Heaven devolved into a Civil War. Her last thought before she drifted into the land of dreams was of Lucifer's rebellion. That event would live on in infamy and she just wanted peace for her friends, her family, and her home

I know that many people loved the characters created by Vivienne "VivziePop" Medrano exactly as they were but I wanted to write a story and put my own little twist on it. I also saw a disturbing lack of substantial Adam/Lute stories so I wanted to try and rectify that. I plan to post a new chapter about once a week. While this story is going on, I plan to write an Alastor/Charlie one as well (at least at some point down the line). Best wishes all and hope you enjoy :)
