Chapter 73:
Pushy
Ana held back the tears as she walked to the bus stop and got on. If she's no one, why can't he answer? She gritted her teeth as the bus took her back across town. Why did he lie? He gave her that smile. My smile. Yet, she's no one? Ana wanted to punch something. Preferably Seto. When she got home, she quietly put her mom's package on the table, then went up to her room. She felt her phone buzzing. When she saw it was Seto, she hung up before it could ring out. Sitting on her bed, she grabbed her pillow and screamed into it so that it was muffled. Why can't he tell me? And it's none of my business? If he saw me talking to some random man and smiling at him, he'd get possessive, so how come I can't? Jerk. Asshole. Shithead. Amin-chan!
The tears finally pushed their way to the surface. It felt like there was a stabbing pain in her chest. She sat there and cried for a good while until she calmed down. Her eyes felt raw and puffy from the crying. There was a knock at the door.
"Yes?" she called out.
Her mother opened the door and smiled. When she saw Ana's face, she paused, but then grinned wider. "You have a visitor. I'll leave you be."
"What? What do you mean, a visitor…?" She trailed off when her mother left and Seto walked in. He had changed out of his uniform and into jeans and a black turtleneck. Seto looked a little shocked when he saw her face. He really has no frickin' clue what he did, does he?
Seto seemed hesitant, but came in and closed the door. He stood awkwardly in front of it.
"What? Why are you here?" Ana snapped. She did not like being cornered in her own room.
"You said you'd tell me what was wrong instead of avoiding me next time." He grumbled. "But you ran away and hung up on me."
"The fact that you can't even figure out what you did wrong is part of the irritation." She glared at him.
Seto's mouth twitched, and he crossed his arms. "What did I do wrong for you to get so mad?"
Ana could normally rein herself in and explain calmly, but she was too mad and hurt. Instead, angry tears started flowing again. Seto's shocked and panicked reaction would have been funny, but she was so mad that she couldn't feel anything but pain.
"You lied to me," she hissed.
He uncrossed his arms, and his brow furrowed. "About what?"
"You said… She wasn't…" Ana was having a hard time talking through the tears. "You said she wasn't important."
"I don't think she's important!" His voice was unsteady, as he seemed unsure how to take her reaction.
"Then why… Why did you smile at her?" Ana's eyes narrowed and her vision blurred. She couldn't properly see his reaction. She closed her eyes and rubbed the tears away.
"Smile at her? I didn't smile."
She looked up at him and glared. He seemed confused, but that didn't make her feel better. "Yes, you did! You smiled at her. You don't smile that way to anyone but me. So, how could I not assume that she's important? Obviously, she is if you gave her my smile. So, yes, you lied. And then you tell me to mind my own business?"
"It's really not your business." Seto frowned at her. "And I don't remember smiling at her."
"You did!" Ana felt the tears coming harder. Seto seemed even more uneasy. He looked to the side and seemed to be trying to remember something, finally he seemed to realize something.
"Oh, I did smile."
Ana sniffed hard and glared at him. "See, I told you that you did."
He seemed anxious. "I wasn't smiling at her."
She glared at him. "What sort of bull—"
"I wasn't. She asked me a question about you." Seto's cheeks turned pink, and he couldn't look at her.
Ana's heart skipped a beat. "What did she ask?"
Seto grimaced. "That's… private."
"It was about me. So, how is it private? Why were you even talking about me with her? If she's not important, why can't you tell me who she is?" Ana's questions came out all at once.
Seto cringed at her barrage. He bit his lip and looked conflicted. "Does it really matter?"
Ana's temper flared up. "Yes, it matters. Because right now, it seems like you're cheating on me."
"Huh?" Seto looked at her, appalled and angry. "Why the hell would I cheat on you?"
"It seems like you're lying about her—"
"I didn't lie about anything—"
"Then explain it so I can understand! Why can't you tell me who she is?" Ana barely managed to keep herself from screaming at him. The stabbing pain in her chest hurt again. Tears poured down her cheeks and dripped onto the pillow. Seto's mouth was drawn tight, and his eyes were wide as he watched her cry.
He took a deep breath and hissed. "She's my… therapist."
Ana blinked a few times to get the tears to stop. "Your… therapist?"
"Yes." He grimaced, and it looked like he had something foul tasting in his mouth.
Ana stared at him for a second, processing what he said. "Why… why the hell couldn't you just say that!"
Seto crossed his arms and looked embarrassed. "Because I didn't want to tell you."
"You'd rather I think you're cheating on me with some older woman?" Ana frowned at him.
He glared at her. "Why would I cheat on you? I lo… I like you a lot and I've made it very clear that other women creep me out."
"Well, when I see you smiling that way at someone and then you dodge the question, that's where my mind went. Why would you even dodge the question?"
"I… Because it's lame."
Ana glared at him. "Do you think it's lame that I see a therapist?"
"No. That's not the point. It's lame for me to see one."
She rolled her eyes at him. "You take that macho attitude and shove it. There's nothing wrong with admitting you need help. And you certainly didn't have to hide it."
He grumbled under his breath. Ana took a few breaths and calmed down. She rubbed at her eyes and felt tired.
"When did you decide to see a therapist?" She wondered what could make 'The Kaiba Seto' admit to needing therapy.
"After domino city." He was looking at her uncomfortably.
"Oh… Do you talk to your therapist about me often?"
"Yes."
Ana blushed. "What about?"
He crossed his arms and glared at the ground. "No. I don't ask you or Mokuba to tell me what you talk about with yours. Don't ask me about my sessions."
"Oh. Fair." She clutched her pillow to her chest and felt even more uncomfortable. "Why did you decide to come over right away?"
"Because I was not going to deal with you avoiding me again when I didn't even know why."
She chuckled a little, and he glanced up at her. The adrenaline was wearing off, and she was feeling a little tired. "Oh… So, you were smiling because she asked you about me?"
"Yes."
"What did she ask?"
Seto frowned at her. "No."
Ana sighed. I guess he really won't tell me. "Ok. Well, I guess I'm glad you came over and told me."
There was a moment of silence.
Seto raised an eyebrow. "That's it? You're not sorry for running away?"
"No. I'm not. I asked you very directly, and you refused to tell me, so I left. Are you sorry for not telling me?" Ana countered.
Seto shook his head. "No. I don't have to tell you about my therapy. Though I guess I could have told you who she was… But I didn't lie, so I'm not sorry about that."
"Well, then. I guess that's that. Neither of us are sorry, but we've cleared up the misunderstanding and can move on." Ana shrugged.
Seto paused at her statement. "Wait, really? That's it?"
"We've cleared up the misunderstanding." Ana scooted back onto her bed so that she was leaning against the wall. "Or was there more?"
"You're not going to have me apologize?" He seemed even more confused. "Or do some sort of punishment?"
Ana laughed. "Should I?"
"I'd rather not."
"Then, that's that." She felt like taking a nap.
"But I made you cry!" He seemed really confused.
Ana held back a laugh. "I guess you did. Though I was mostly crying because I was angry."
Seto seemed even more confused about her reaction. "And you're not going to have me say sorry because of that?"
She considered it and smiled mischievously, then patted the spot next to her on her bed. Seto hesitated, but came over and sat down next to her.
"If you kiss me, then we can say it's all good." She grinned at him, but he froze at her comment. Is that such a hard thing to do?
"Can I do it later?" He glanced at the door. "I don't think that's a good idea right now."
Ana's pulse sped up. She hadn't thought about the fact that they were in her room right now, on her bed, and that her family was home. That would have made it even more entertaining. Wait, am I turned on by possibly getting caught? The make-out session at school was pretty hot.
She felt her face getting warm. They hadn't really kissed since the festival. Her mind went blank as she thought about them making out behind the curtains. She buried her face into her pillow.
"Yeah, I guess I do look pretty bad right now." She laughed awkwardly.
"That is not what I meant."
She felt embarrassed for suggesting it and couldn't look up at him.
"Ana." She felt his breath on her ear and a shiver when down her back. Slowly, she peaked out at him and found he'd scooted closer. Wait… He gently kissed her cheek and smirked at her. That pissed her off. She sat up and grabbed his head, pulling him into a proper kiss. It was a little wet since she'd pulled him forcefully, but he wasn't resisting her. Wait, what am I doing? In my house, on my bed! She didn't want to stop, though. It felt nice, but it felt like Seto was holding back. Pulling back, she looked at him and found his face was bright red. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and kissed him again, but he kept his arms to his side.
Ana was feeling a little disappointed as she pulled away this time. "Amin-chan, can you… kiss me a bit more like how you did at the festival?"
Seto's mouth tightened, and she could feel his shoulders tense under her arms. "That's a really bad idea."
"Why?" Ana hadn't let go of him yet.
"Because I don't think I'll be able to hold back if I do." Even his ears were turning pink. Ana's heart skipped a beat.
"It's fine. I'll stop you if you get too handsy." She felt her face get warmer when she realized what she'd said.
Seto didn't hesitate after that. She tensed a little when he pulled her in closer to him. It was suddenly way too hot in her room as they lip wrestled. She felt the world tip and her pillow slipped out of her lap onto the floor as she was pushed down onto the bed. Seto paused and looked at her uncomfortably. When it looked like he was about to stop, she grabbed him and pulled him back down. Who turned up the heat in my room? Ana readjusted her legs so that she was straddling him. It was then that she remembered she was wearing a skirt. Seto, however, was apparently too busy with her tongue to notice the extremely sexual position they were in. He was keeping himself propped up with his arms and not touching her with his body, but it was still driving her crazy. Should I tell him to stop? She could feel her skirt slipping down her legs. If someone comes in right now. The thought strangely got her more excited. I guess I do get excited about the thought of being caught. I didn't need to know that about myself.
Seto pulled away just a tad. Ana took the opportunity to breathe.
"Seto," she said breathlessly. He lightly kissed her mouth, then her cheek, and then nibbled on her ear. She giggled. "That tickles."
He stopped nibbling and looked thoughtful. Gently, he pulled down her collar, revealing her neck and kissed it. Wait, is he about to…? He opened his mouth, lightly bit, and sucked on her neck. It didn't feel good.
"Ouch. Seto stop. I don't like that."
He stopped, and she touched her neck. It was most likely going to leave a bruise. He seemed embarrassed and apologetic.
"Sorry," he mumbled, and seemed like he was about to pull away.
Wait, if he does that, he'll see my panties. Ana quickly pulled him back down and teasingly said, "It's not fair if I don't get to try it on you."
She remembered the scar on his neck and bit her lip. Crap. However, he didn't hesitate to pull his collar down. Ana's heart raced. Really? I guess he's comfortable enough with me to do that. Wait, how do you give a hickey? She nipped his neck and pulled away. Seto looked at her and snorted.
"Don't laugh! I've never done it before. How did you even know how to do it?" She glared at him.
"I read a book. And you suck, not bite." He explained.
She was annoyed but tried again. This time, she must have done something right, because he tensed up. Does he like this? Curious, she sucked a little harder and ran her fingers up through his hair at the same time. He let out a soft moan in her ear. Oh, he does like this. Ana felt like something clicked in her. She wanted to know what else he liked. Slowly, she ran her hands over his back and around front to his chest. She was debating on putting her hands inside his shirt when there was a knock at the door.
"Ana, are you in there? It's going to be dinnertime soon." It was Hikari.
She panicked, pulled away from Seto, then Judo flipped him off her and off the bed. He hit the floor with a loud thump.
"Ana?" Hikari sounded worried and opened the door. Ana quickly pulled her skirt down. Hikari opened the door and paused when he saw Seto on the floor. Seto had sat up in the time Hikari opened the door, readjusted his collar, and had her pillow resting on his lap as if he'd been relaxing that way the entire time. "Huh? Kaiba-san? What are you doing here?"
"Your mother let me in." He responded casually. Ana found it impressive that he could act like nothing inappropriate had been happening.
Hikari sighed. "Of course she did… Do you want to stay for dinner?"
"No," Seto replied bluntly.
Hikari smiled, but it was an annoyed one. "Good. So, leave."
"Onii-san, I'll be down in a few. After I see Kaiba-san off and change out of my uniform. So go away." Ana would have chucked her pillow at him if Seto hadn't been holding it.
"Fine." Hikari gave Seto one last glare before closing the door.
Ana let out a sigh of relief. That was almost bad in so many ways. "Sorry about throwing you."
"It's fine." He was obviously annoyed.
Ana stood up and straightened her skirt a little more. "Well, you should probably head out."
Seto had turned away from her and had his head propped on his fist.
"Amin-chan?"
"Gi-give me a minute." His ears and the back of his neck were pink.
"Huh? Why?" Ana knelt next to him and looked at him curiously.
"I just need a second to calm down." He repeated, and cringed. Ana looked down and noticed that he was clutching her pillow tightly. When she realized what he meant, she felt her face get warm.
"Oh-oh, maybe think about something that turns you off?" She laughed nervously.
"Ana, you're not help—"
"Joey Wheeler beating you at a duel."
Seto paused at looked put out. There was a moment of awkward silence, then Seto released her pillow, covered his face with his hand, and groaned. "Yup, that did it, but please, never mention Wheeler again after making out."
Ana chuckled. "Noted."
He looked up at her and leaned over to kiss her lightly on the lips before saying, "I'll see you tomorrow."
She could feel herself blush and was a little sad about saying goodbye. "Alright."
He finally stood up, and she saw him out. Ana was about to go change when her mother popped her head into the hallway and grinned.
"Did you too kiss and make up?"
"Yes, wait—Mom!" She felt embarrassed as her mother laughed and ran away to the living room. Geeze, parents… I kind of wish we hadn't been interrupted. Maybe I do want to do more than just kissing and holding hands. Ana felt her face grow warm, and she thought about making out with Seto. Maybe… It wouldn't hurt to read that book Rina gave me.
