It was May of 2009. I was just about done with my freshman year of high school. My parents decided that they wanted to have a sort of family game night and had even invited our aunt, Jenna, over. It was pretty lame. It was also a bit unfair that I had to go because my older sister Elena was allowed to skip out on it to go to a party. She also decided that she was done with the party a little bit early and had our parents go and pick her up, which left me alone with my aunt. My name is Jeremy Gilbert

I decided to go outside because I needed to get some air. It was then that I saw a familiar face.

"Elena?" I asked as I saw my sister. "What are you doing here? Mom and Dad went to go get you."

I imagined that they would be pretty mad if when they got there to find out that she had already left. Though, there was one thing different about her. Her hair was curly for some reason. Had she used a curling iron at the party or something? She looked at me like with a look that I didn't recognize.

"Ah, Little Gilbert. Just the person that I was looking for." She declared.

"What are you talking about?" I asked. She was being weird. Also, I was surprised that she was talking to me at all. Something strange was going on.

"Let's just cut to the chase." She stated as she looked me in the eye. "You're not going to remember how this happened and you're not going to tell anyone you know what happened."

It was like the words went into my ear and straight to my brain. I didn't understand it, but I felt like I had to do what she said, like I wanted to do what she said. At that point, another girl walked out. I couldn't see her face, or maybe I did, and I just couldn't recall what she looked like.

"You're going to look so pretty when I'm done with you." Elena remarked. I wasn't sure what she meant by it, but I was also kind of out of it for some reason. I wasn't on anything. I had smoked some pot and had some alcohol, but I wasn't doing anything at the moment. She then looked to the other girl. "You can do it now."

The girl said some words and I started to feel really weird. I couldn't move. Something was happening but I wasn't sure what. I felt like I was getting smaller. I felt light-headed. I pretty much fell asleep on the grass.

When I woke up, I couldn't help but wonder that I felt different. I was no longer feeling light-headed, but I still felt very weird. My hair felt even longer than usual. I felt something on my chest and found that there was a pair of breasts there. My body had been changed. I had been turned into a girl. What the hell happened? I was freaking out. I kind of wanted to scream. At that point, the door opened, and Jenna came out with a look of shock on her face.

"Mary?" She replied. I wasn't sure who she was talking to. Was she talking to me? Why did she think my name was Mary? I tried to tell her name that my name was Jeremy, but I couldn't. Why couldn't I tell her what was had happened? She was looking at me like it was completely normal for me to be a girl, but she also horrified.

"What?" I responded. It was pretty much the only thing that I could say to her.

"I just got a call from the hospital." She explained. "There was an accident. Wickery Bridge collapsed and Elena was brought in unconscious but still breathing."

At that moment, the fact that I had been somehow turned into a girl became a lot less important. My sister was injured but I also noticed that she had only mentioned Elena and a bridge collapsing was usually not the easiest thing to walk away from. I had a very bad feeling about it, but I needed to know.

"What about Mom and Dad?" I asked. I was prepared for her to say the worst, even though I wasn't sure how I would deal with it.

"They didn't make it." She told me. I couldn't believe it. It was like my world stopped right there. I did the only thing that I could think of at the moment. I started to cry as tears streamed down my face. She gave me a hug as she cried with me.

The only good news was that Elena did manage to wake up and it didn't even take very long. The bad news was that my parents were dead. On top of all of that, I had somehow been turned into a girl and everyone else thought that I was always a girl for some reason. On top of that, all my clothes changed into girl clothes. I couldn't tell anyone either. To everyone else, I was Mary Gilbert, the younger sister of Elena and I had no idea how it happened.

After the funeral, we found out that Jenna was going to be taking care of Elena and I. It was pretty clear that she didn't know what she was doing with that. It was either her or our uncle, John, and apparently the courts thought that she would be better for it. It was probably because she was a woman.

As the summer went on, I couldn't help but feel depressed. So much was going on and I couldn't do anything about it. On top of that, I didn't have anyone to lean on. Elena at least had her friends, but I didn't have any friends. I went into Mystic Grill one day and I didn't care how, but I was going to get a drink. I needed something to escape this world and I didn't want to try some of the antidepressants that I had been prescribed. I didn't want to be a junkie who needed something like that to feel good.

Fortunately, the waitress, Vicki Donovan was willing to help me deal with my problems. She mixed in some liquor with my soda. I supposed it was better than actually serving me. It helped me take the edge off of things and I also liked it.

Eventually, the summer ended. School would be starting back up and I was not looking forward to it. Little did I know that the new year was going to change my life forever.

So Mary was turned into a girl by Katherine, but why did she do that? Mary is played by Zoey Deutch. What will happen to her? You'll have to keep reading to find out.
