Anna had stayed in her room mostly. Canceling her appointment with Dr. Lector to mourn. She was still heartbroken at Matt's death. His funeral was today, and she wasn't ready for it. Her dad was also leaving for his book tour today, so she had to come out of her room.
So, there she was standing there with Alex as her dad made sure that everything that he needed was in his Jeep.
David looked over at his family when he finished loading up and double checking everything. He went over and hugged both Alex and Anna, kissing their heads. "Are you sure you don't want me to stay?" He asked Anna. She shook her head no.
She wasn't going to be blamed for this as well.
He nodded and hugged them both one last time before going to his fiancée and giving her a hug and kiss as well. He then got into his Jeep. He looked out the window and waved. Anna gave a small wave back. "Bye. Love you." The sisters said.
The girls watched as David drove off from their home. "Come on girls let's get ready to get to the funeral." Rachel told them. Anna and Alex looked over at her. Alex nodded. "We will be right in." Alex told Rachel who nodded and gave Anna a motherly look before going inside to get ready.
The two sisters headed inside to get ready for the funeral. Once ready the three took a long and silent ride to the mainland for the funeral.
Anna and Alex stood at the gravesite as the preacher spoke. It was closed casket cause of how his body was. There was a lot of sobs and sniffling around Anna and Alex.
Anna put a rose on the casket after it was lowered into the ground. She then backed away as she watched others do the same, unable to look at the casket any longer. She saw Rachel and Hannibal Lector there. She was surprised to see Dr. Lector there. Rachel also put a rose on the casket but when she moved, Anna gasped seeing the little red head.
The little girl moved her head, motioning Anna to follow her as she walked away from the funeral. Anna turned her head and when the girl got to the wooded entrance she looked back at Anna and once more motioned for Anna to follow her.
Anna turned and mindlessly followed the little girl.
She walked through the woods. She made it to a few graves that were hidden away. She looked around her for the little girl. The little girl had been in the woods with the two little boys she was always with. But now they were gone.
Not seeing them, she walked up to the graves, not hearing someone calling her name. She kept walking went to her knees to look at the graves. Why would they lead her here?
Anna wiped the things off the grave to reveal names. Three names. She took her phone out and took a picture of them to show Alex later. She then got up but cried out as the ground under her collapsed.
Making her fall in. "Anna!" A voice called. She coughed as she got up. She looked down at her hands, as she coughed.
She looked up and saw Dr. Lector running over to her. She didn't realize she was crying again till a new tear went through the dirt on her face down to her hand. Once he got to her, he helped her out of the grave.
He had her stay there and got her dropped phone.
"What are you doing out here?" He asked wrapping his suit jacket around her as he led her back to where the others were. "I.. I.." She couldn't tell him that she saw three dead children like she did in the nightmares of her mothers death.
"I needed air. It was becoming to much for me." Anna lied to her doctor. He seemed to know she was lying, but he didn't saying that told her so.
He led her back to her sister. "I want to have her stay with me for awhile. I want to keep a closer eye on her." Hannibal told Rachel. "I'm going to call a specialist to come see her." He continued. Rachel looked over at Anna, who was in the car, and nodded.
"I will go home and make a bag for her..." She told him. "But please. Just for the mental health she needs until her father gets back. Not for your..." She didn't finish when he gave her a look that told her to not finish what she was going to tell him.
She just looked down.
She was going to live with Hannibal for a while.
