"Adrien, do you have any food around here?" Nino asked, when he closed the lid on his piano. "My stomach's so hungry now its playing tunes!" "Cheese?" Plagg held up a slightly green hunk of cheese and even Adrien turned a little green. "I'm not sure that's the kind of snack Nino had in mind," Adrien looked over at his friend who was shaking his head vigorously. "But maybe we can find something in the kitchen. I'm in the mood for sweets."
Aunt Amelie was in the kitchen, writing on a piece of paper. "Hungry, boys? I'm making a list of things to buy for dinner. Would you like to invite Marinette and Alya, boys?" the pair nodded. "Snacks are in that cupboard there. Have fun!" She blew a kiss to Adrien and he blew one back.
Aunt Amelie wasn't Mother, but Adrien loved his aunt very much. "Dude, you have every kind of snack imaginable!" Nino cheered as he rummaged in the cupboard. Adrien leaned on the counter. "We could have a snack from the cupboard," he suggested. "Or we could make a cake."
"Cake!" Nino's head shot up, nearly missing the doorjamb. "Do you even know how to make cake?" Sure, Adrien wasn't Papa Dupain, but he'd watched him a enough times, and how hard could it be really?
When all the ingredients were assembled, Adrien read the instructions. "Step one, crack a yoke, or a joke?" he cracked, tapping the egg on the counter. Nino groaned and Adrien laughed. At times, his Cat Noir playfulness arose when he was Adrien.
The boys followed the recipe, though covered themselves in flour. "Let's clean up and play ourselves some Donkey Kong!" Nino cheered, pumping his fist in the air.
An hour later…
"Dude, I'm hungry. How long do the cakes need to get warm?" Nino grumbled. Adrien leaped up without a word, dashing down to the kitchen. Sugar and cookies, they had forgotten about the cake!
Smoke poured out of the oven, and Adrien groaned. "No, my masterpiece is ruined!" "Rats, I was ready for cake," Nino pouted, but then Adrien clicked his fingers. "I've got it!" he whipped out his phone.
"Who are you calling?" "Marinette! We were going to the girls anyway. Why didn't we think of that earlier?" "Even though this cake here looks like your Cataclysm, I sure am having fun," Nino grinned. Adrien held out a fist for a pound it, then waited for Marinette to arrive.
