Anagan was nervous. He hadn't even gotten time to process the beating he just received. And yet here he was, walking in the woods with Ogron, and unable to do anything about it. They walked for a bit until they got a good deal away from the cabin and deeper into the woods. A few moments of tense silence passed before Anagan spoke.
"Ogron," he let out a nervous laugh, " really I got the message from Gantlos, I didn't mean to make him feel bad I didn't. I was just trying to lighten the mood, honest!"
" did you stop to think that what you were saying could have possibly affected him in a negative way? You know how Duman gets about his powers, you know what he's been through, so for you to sit there, and make jokes is absolutely unacceptable no matter what you were trying to do," his voice was stern, almost fatherly.
"W-well? What's the plan then?" he stammered through his words, terrified of what the redheaded wizard was about to do.
"Run to the city and back," Ogron's words, were stale and bland, no real feeling behind them. This caught Anagan off guard. He was expecting maybe a little more yelling even just a little more violence even still, he wasn't going to question an easy punishment. So he did just that, he ran to the city and back.
"Again," Ogron ordered.
And so he ran again, and again, and again, he found this punishment, rather…juvenile, at least compared to what Ogron normally had done. Maybe he was taking it easy on him?
" I'm not trying to sound rude or disrespectful, but, is this it? Because this is kind of…. Easy. Like I could do this all day." he wasn't being full of himself. He was just stating a fact, he really could do this all day, and Ogron aware of that.
"Oh could you now? Well, if you don't mind, I'm going to make it just a little bit…harder." With a snap of his fingers Anagan suddenly had weights on his ankles. It really didn't matter. Anagan had trained with weights on his ankles before, but he had a sinking feeling that this was not the end of it. And so once more, he ran to the city and back into the city and back into the city and back. This seem to go on for hours, eventually he seemed to be getting more and more fatigued. Were these ankle weights getting… heavier? By the fifth lap, he realized they most definitely were. He stopped back at Ogron, who is smiling.
" once more, you are going to run there, but this time we're going to do it differently , we're going to play little cat mouse game. And you better pray I don't catch you." His innocent smile seemed almost cruel to poor Anagan.
So he took off once more with the heavy, enchanted ankle weights, and after running, and running , and running, he came to realize he had only moved a few feet. He looked around. This wasn't possible was it? He tried running, once more only realized, after a few more moments that it was true. His environment was moving slowly around him. He wasn't making any progress at all! The fear had settled in and there was nothing he could do about it. He thought about just sitting and waiting, but then he thought running would be a better idea. After all, he didn't want to insult over. Eventually, the weights, however, became too heavy, and he collapsed. Out of breath he looked up and saw Ogron sitting casually in a tree.
"That was very amusing," he chimed in a sickly sweet manner.
"You were there the whole time?" The question was scraped out of his voice as he huffed.
"Of course I was! I couldn't keep you in one spot if I was anywhere else, could I? How do you feel? Do you feel tired? Do you feel embarrassed? Humiliated even, that your power you thought so highly of, worked so hard on, turned into a joke at the hands of someone else someone you were supposed to trust ? That is how you made Duman feel,"
Anagan sank a little not meeting Ogron's eyes. "…I was a douche,"
"Very much so, however, I think you've realized that much, so we're going to go back," that was music to Anagan's ears, except Ogron didn't remove the weights, " Oh, silly me. I forgot to mention, you're going to carry me and run back." His face fell, but he understood. Carrying Ogron on his back, and with the weights still growing heavier with each step, he ran back to the cabin, when they got there, they met with the other two in the hallway.
"I am so sorry Duman," Anagan said, he seemed out of breath, " I never meant to make you feel like your power is a joke. It's a very cool, strong power. I was trying to lighten the mood, and I did awful at that. Please forgive me."
Ogron simply stood behind him, arms crossed, looking at Duman, as if an answer from him would seal whatever fate he had, or had not planned for the speed runner.
"It's all well, we can move past this and besides, I don't need you to tell me my powers are cool I already know."
"Someone got a confidence boost," Ogron chimed pleased.
" Yep! Gantlos gave me a pretty good peptalk,"
"Well, now that we are all feeling so exceptional, everyone is going to train until they drop. Just as a precaution to make sure we are prepared for our next attack," Ogron beamed and walked away, the others groaned, especially Anagan.
"What's up with the ankle bracelets?" Gantlos teased
"Just a little something to ensure Anagan stays in tip top shape, " chimed Ogron. Anagan groaned as they all went to train.
