A/N:
Guest-I really need to open up an fanfiction account, you've updated so much!
Jaune was seriously fighting like Captain America I noticed
Kova set up the twins to take the fall of Jaune going into the Grimm Den! Fuckin bitch!
So that's how Verde was born. So Jaune got the girl, but didn't fully get her because she still loved Giza, man that's low
So the twins and Giza all ate Black Panther herbs, so they're Black Lions in a sense
Jaune has no idea that the twins are gone as well so that's how they'll meet later
Trust me, an account here does wonders. It's actually how my whole fanfic journey began. If I never made an account, I probably never would have made this story. Little acts pay out in the long run.
RESPECT ZE SHIELD!
Would you expect anything less from someone based on Scar?
Joto may have loved Jaune, but she still sees Giza as her true love. That's gotta hurt.
Man, that sounds metal when said out loud.
Indeed. Fun fact: he technically never saw their faces, so he has no idea what they look like, but they know what he looks like.
Guest-Wait so Giza's body wasn't found...? Is that a set up?!
Black Panther herbs?!
That's how Verde was born. So Joto had feelings for Jaune, but it wasn't the same or strong as she did for Giza. Ahh
Jaune's love life really does suck
The twins had to leave their mother without saying goodbye.. that's heartbreaking
AND THE PLOT THICKENS!
HEART HERBS, BABY! No idea how you can make that using Dust and I think I'd rather not know. SO MUCH SCIENCE!
Hurts, don't it?
IT DOES! I hope you watched the latest Helluva Boss, because Jaune has the exact OPPOSITE problem as Blitz. Blitz kept breaking people's hearts, while Jaune kept getting his heart broken. If there ever was a party, it would be a Sorry Jaune Party of all the people who dumped Jaune for one reason or another, most of them feeling sorry because most of the women Jaune dated genuinely loved him, but felt like they weren't good enough for the man who was becoming the Hero of Remnant and the World's Greatest Huntsman. Fame can be a real bitch.
It gets worse.
Nine months have passed since the Graveyard's destruction. And on this day, Joto was screaming in the delivery room. She has been through many battles, endured the harshest training, and powered through the most difficult of situations, but none of them compared to the trial of giving birth.
Her grip was so great that instead of nurses holding her hand, the King was given grip strengtheners to hold instead. The ones she was given were designed to need three hundred pounds of force to even squeeze halfway, yet Joto had it squeezed completely shut, even breaking it a bit.
"Almost there, Your Majesty! It's crowning! Just one! More! PUSH!"
Joto roared as she gave the final push. When she was done, she heard the most beautiful sound in the world. A baby's cry. Her baby cries.
"Congratulations, Your Majesty," the doctor said as she wrapped the crying cub. "The princess is completely healthy."
"My daughter," Joto panted. "Let me see her," she said as she reached out.
"Of course," the doctor said as she handed the crying cub to the King. The moment the child was in her mother's arms, her crying ceased, now a soft fussing to a calm humming. Joto couldn't stop herself from crying, even if she wanted to. "She's beautiful." The baby then opened her eyes, looking up at Joto.
Joto giggled. "Of course. She has HIS eyes." Her baby had beautiful, sky-blue eyes. The trait that revealed her to be an Arc. "Wait, is that green in her eyes?"
The doctor looked. "It is. It seems the Outsider's eye color mixed with yours, Your Majesty. If I had to guess, her eyes will be green by the time she is at least one year of age."
"Green. Green, is it? Hm. Then, I suppose your name will be... Kijani." The baby giggled, making her mother giggle. "You like that name, do you? I'm happy," she said as she rubbed her cheek against the baby's, making her giggle even more.
"Your Majesty, apologies, but the princess must be taken to the nursery so you can get some rest."
Joto sighed. "Very well," she said as she handed her now sleeping daughter to the nearby nurse, the Mouse Faunus bowing before leaving the room. As the nurse walked down the hall, she spotted Kovu walking toward her. Time slowed down as the two walked past each other, both quickly glancing at the other. In that split second, the nurse smirked and gave a tiny nod, making Kovu smirk for just a moment before the two walked away from one another.
Kovu then reached her sister's room just as the doctor closed the door. "Oh! Lord, Kovu. I did not expect to see you."
"I no longer heard screaming and roaring. Am I right to assume the delivery was successful?"
"Yes, lord. Her Majesty is resting right now."
"Then she is fine. I would like to speak to her."
"My lord, it is best that she rests for-"
"NOW," Kovu went with no hesitation in her voice.
The doctor jumped before she sighed. "The King is in good condition, so it should be just fine. But please allow her to sleep in at least five minutes."
"Very well. I will try," Kovu said as she entered her sister's room.
"Kovu," Joto went in a tired tone.
"Hello, Joto. You look worse than you do after a battle."
Joto giggled. "How ironic. It is much easier to take a life than it is to give it. I've never felt so tired in my life," Joto said as Kovu stood next to her. "Kovu, I'm a bit worried, if I'm being honest. I've been a warrior and leader for what felt like all my life. Do you... do you believe I'll be a good mother to that child? Someone who can raise her properly, teach her to be a noble woman who will be able to proudly lead this kingdom?"
"I cannot say, sister."
Joto sighed. "I suppose not. After all, who knows what the future holds."
"Indeed. Besides, the dead cannot raise the living."
"What?" Joto then felt a tiny mosquito bite on her arm and looked to see no insect. She then looked up at her sister to question her, only for her vision to distort. She then began to pant as she felt hot, breathing became difficult, and her body felt so heavy that she fell onto her bed. "What... did you... do?"
"I did nothing, sister. One of the Outsider's enemies did."
"What?"
Kovu took out her scroll and pulled up articles on Jaune. "In mere months, the Outsider has risen to heroic heights, already a living legend, defeating hordes of Grimm and legions of criminals alike. So many enemies for one man."
"J-Jaune," Joto struggled.
"And it seems many of those enemies are influential. Maybe more than enough to find even our island and learn of his past with you... and of his spawn."
"N... o," Joto struggled, wanting to roar.
"So tragic. I was so close to you, yet I was too late to prevent your murder. What is worse is that I could not save my own niece."
Joto's eyes shot open in rage as she shocked Kovu by grabbing her. That shock quickly went away when Joto coughed up blood, and fell back onto the bed, breathing heavily. "You... won't win. Kiburi... will discover the truth. No Outsider... is that skilled to find... our island."
Kovu smirked. "No Outsider? Are you sure," she said as she held up another picture.
Joto's eyes widened. "Kito. Vito."
"How sad. You trusted those girls. After everything you did for them, pardoning their crimes, saving their mother, giving them all positions in the palace because you loved their fallen brother, they repay you by leaving the kingdom and selling us out for a paltry amount of wealth. How heartbreaking. I will have to make an example out of Almasi when I am King."
"Don't... touch... her. Inn... o... cent."
"She is the mother of a dead foolish hero and traitorous cowards who ran away from their own kingdom. Do not worry. She will not be executed, but she will wish she was," Kovu said with an evil smirk "Oh. I should tell you too. Giza and The Guard. They did die, but I had them killed." Joto's eyes widened gasping. "Yes. Giza was in the infirmary while The Guard was away on a mission, The Grey Hyenas and Nyeupe's White Gorillas ambushed them, they fought valiantly really, but they were no match. You should know your friend, Mvinyo saw you and Giza together." Joto's eyes widened again. "She was more than willing to help us. She told him about his friends needed him, and he rushed to them, he was so angry and saddened finding their dead bodies, so angry he ran to the harbor to find us to meet Hyenas and Gorillas waiting for him, but he fought and killed every last one of them such a sight weakened and covered in blood, he looked to see me, Nyeupe and Kijivu with a specially made cannon, firing at him, he gave one last roar exploding." Joto's eyes started to water. "That's why we couldn't find his body. Most likely got swiped by the ocean current and rotting at the bottom of the sea."
"You.. killed them.." She angrily glared at Kovu. "You.. killed Giza..." Tears dropped down her cheeks.
"I did. They were in the way."
Joto glared at her sister, feeling her life fade away. "You won't.. get away with this.. Jaune... saved us... by mere chance." Kovu raised an eyebrow. "Fate... brought him here. Fate... will save... Kiburi... again..." Joto then closed her eyes "... Giza..." she whispered her beloved's name lastly. The King of Kiburi... was now dead.
Kovu stood up and straightened her shirt to get rid of the wrinkles where her sister grabbed her, looking down at the corpse. "I doubt that."
Kovu then prepared herself, taking deep breaths. She forced herself to cry, tears already falling down her cheeks, her throat tensed up to make her voice sound broken, and her heart filled with the false rage of anguish.
Then, she released a pained roar that could be heard throughout the kingdom.
Somewhere near Shion at a harbor town raining.
There were many dead bodies on the ground, two men fired guns at a shadowy figure that landed on top of a car.
"It's him!" The figure threw shuriken piercing his neck.
"He's after Aki!" A shuriken pierced his head, and the men dropped to the ground dead. Another man ran after the figure with a sword as the figure moved up some stairs. He swiped the sword out of his hand and kicked the man down the stairway, going onward tossing another man out of the window, moving on encountering more men that screamed firing their weapons, but the figure defeated them all with ease. One jumped out of the window landing on the ground on his feet and the figure followed suit. The man seemed to be Aki the leader of the gang, with silk slick back black hair, brown eyes, a balbo mustache wearing black pants, white buttoned shirt, black tie, and a trench coat. He had a sword as he turned to the figure that looked like a hooded masked samurai.
"Why are you doing this?" He unsheathed his sword. "What did we do to you?"
"It's nothing personal. It's just business." He unsheathed his sword strapped to his back, holding the sword backwards, the man swung his sword a few times, but the hooded samurai easily deflected the swings, they broke away. "You hurt a lot of people and made enemies."
"We hurt people?" He said looking to his dead comrades. "You're crazy!" He swung his sword, but the samurai blocked it, in a brief stalemate the samurai punched Aki sending him stumbling back a bit as he pointed his sword at Aki's neck, briefly quickly he smacked the samurai's sword away to swing his sword a few times, but the samurai deflected them. He hit Aki across the face and quickly sliced his side. Aki held his wound briefly before turning to the samurai aiming his sword at him, rushing at him, the samurai swiftly outmaneuvered and slashed Aki's neck. He dropped his sword, holding his neck wound, dropping his knees. "Wait! Help me! I'll give you anything! What do you want?"
"What I want?" He approached Aki. "You're already giving me." He pierced his sword through Aki's chest, killing him. There as his body lifelessly dropped to the ground. Holding his sword backward, he wiped the blood off the sword with his arm. The hooded samurai then pulled down his hood and took off his mask. It was revealed to be the black Lion Faunus, said to be dead hero of Kiburi, leader of the Alpha Guard, Joto's missed love, Kito and Vito's older sibling, Almasi's son, Giza. He now had an scar on the right side of his jaw and a large, jagged scar that ran over his right cheekbone from his ear and to over his nose. He looked out at the raging sea. He didn't know what it was, but he had a feeling something wasn't right. He then felt his scroll buzzed answering it. "Hey.. yeah its done.. Wasn't a problem.. Yeah.. I'm heading back now. Yeah. See ya soon, Dev." He hung up his scroll, still looking out at the sea. 'What is this feeling?' he thought. 'I feel.. sad and angry.'
The doctor ran into the room to see Kovu over her sister, the lion turning to look at the doctor with enraged, tearful eyes. "YOU! YOU SAID MY SISTER ONLY NEEDED REST! WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER," Kovu roared as she grabbed the doctor and slammed her against the wall.
"WHAT?! MY LORD, CALM YOURSELF!"
"HOW CAN I?! MY SISTER IS DEAD!"
"WHAT?!" The doctor looked and saw Joto's corpse. "NOOO," she screamed as she ran to her King. "WHAT IS THIS?! HOW CAN THIS B-" She gasped before opening Joto's eye.
"HOW DARE YOU TOUCH HER?!"
"MY LORD, THE KING WAS POISONED!"
"WHAT?! IMPOSSIBLE! WHO ELSE BESIDES YOU COULD HAVE POISONED MY-" Kovu's eyes widened in mock realization. "Where is my niece?"
"What?"
"Where. Is. My. Niece?"
The doctor's eyes widened. "Oh, god no. By the God of Animals and our ancestors, no." The doctor then looked at the emergency button on the wall and punched it, activating the alarms.
As the alarms blared, the mouse nurse was already on a wild horse that was caught for her escape route, smirking as she heard the Kiburi alarms blaring but fading away as she got closer to the harbor. "All according to plan, My King," she said as she looked down at the crying baby in her arm.
A frantic search was made for the princess, led by Kovu herself. Not one bit of the kingdom was left unchecked, many believing that the culprit was still in the kingdom, for who would allow a mouse to leave the kingdom with a lion in her arms? Sadly, no one knew that Kovu had been planning for this event for years, gathering her loyalists and making countless escape routes for her servants, from the guards at the gate to the boatman that was waiting for the false nurse.
As such, the search for Princess Kijani was a failure.
Days later, a funeral for King Joto was held, and Kovu was at the stand to give a speech about her sister: "Today is the darkest of days. I stand before you all... a failure. I was not able to protect my sister. Like many of us, we looked up to her and saw her awesome strength as unbeatable, never once believing our own would ever betray her. We all loved her and were loyal to her, or so we thought. Joto's death is a terrible tragedy, but to lose the newly born princess... There is no deeper humiliation than knowing that I could not protect my own newly born niece. I failed to protect my own flesh and blood. Yet, even with these sins on my shoulders, I must follow tradition as the now strongest warrior in Kiburi and assume the throne as King."
"Joto and Kijani are gone, which means I am your King. And my first order... is to reveal who killed my family."
The people began to speak among themselves.
"My loyal soldiers and spies discovered something... not only disturbing... but heartbreaking." A screen appeared behind Kovu, showing the images... of Kito and Vito. The people were shocked, seeing the formerly infamous twins turned respected soldiers of Joto herself, on screen.
"These two, who have no right to be called Feline Faunus, let alone Lion Faunus, younger siblings of our fallen hero Giza and children of one our former elite guards, were saved by my sister. She pardoned their crimes, trained them in the warrior ways of Kiburi, and even trusted them with guarding our sacred palace. And how do they repay my sister's kindness," Kovu asked with a breaking voice. "They run away. Not even a year ago, when our island was being ravaged by legions of Grimm, they escape to Remnant and WILLINGLY become Outsiders! Leaving their family, their culture, THEIR VERY NAME! THEY ARE NO LONGER KITO AND VITO, BUT JADE AND JULIE! AFTER EVERYTHING MY SISTER DID FOR THEM, THEY BETRAY HER TRUST AND RUN AND SELL THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF OUR HOME TO THE ENEMY OF THE OUTSIDER!"
People gasped.
"YOU HEARD TRUE, MY PEOPLE! THE ENEMY OF THE OUTSIDER WHO SAVED OUR HOME, JAUNE ARC'S ENEMY, CAME TO OUR HOME TO KILL OUR KING JUST TO ATTACK HIM! OUR WAY OF LIFE MEANT NOTHING TO THIS VILLAIN! IT WAS ALL TO HURT ONE MAN," she roared as Jaune's image appeared on the screen. "I WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS INSULT! WILL YOU?!"
The people roared in anger and agreement with Kovu. Well, the loud ones. After all, many more Kiburians knew Kito and Vito, or rather Jade and Julie as Giza's younger siblings. They personally paid their debts to the kingdom, apologized to the ones they wronged, and even befriended many of their victims. The people who knew the twins knew very well they would never do anything to betray the kingdom, let alone betray Joto and besmirch their brother's legacy any further. None knew this fact more than Mchanga.
But the loud minority was filled with Faunus of great power. Hippos, tigers, rhinos, elephants, and even lions. Too much of the majority consisted of Antilope Faunus, giraffes, warthog, meerkats, and other species too physically weak to challenge the minority. A civil war would end terribly for the majority, and they knew it.
"THE ONLY REASON THEY WENT AFTER MY SISTER IS BECAUSE THEY BLAMED HER FOR THEIR BROTHER'S DEATH, REVENGE! THEY THOUGHT WE WERE WEAK! WE, THE OWNERS OF VIBRATION DUST! WE, THE KINGDOM OF FAUNUS! WE, WITH TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATIONS BEYOND ALL THAT THEY HAVE! WE, WHO ARE SO ADVANCED THAT THEY NEEDED THE AID OF TRAITORS IN ORDER TO HARM US! I WILL MAKE US RISE FROM THE ASHES OF THIS TRAGEDY AND STRENGTHEN OUR KINGDOM! A DAWNING OF A NEW AGE! A GREAT AND GLORIOUS FUTURE WHERE WE! ARE! INVINCIBLE! WHERE NO KINGDOM, NO FOE, NO GRIMM COULD EVER HOPE TO DEFEAT EVEN OUR WEAKEST SOLDIER! KIBURI WILL BE ETERNAL!"
The crowd cheered before they began to chant: "KING KOVU! KING KOVU! KING KOVU!" What's worse, the weaker majority began to chant as well, reluctant as they were, not wanting to cause conflict.
Kovu stared out at the crowd before retreating back into her castle, the doors closing behind her.
It took all of her will to not smile in satisfying victory, her smile begging to be released.
"My King."
She looked up to see Nyeupe walk up, his tribesmen following him, as he held a Lion Faunus woman's arm roughly. A woman who looked too much like Jade and Julie.
"We have found her," he said before smacking the back of the woman's head, making her fall at Kovu's feet.
Kovu then used her foot to make the woman look up at her, Kovu looking down at her with cruel, cold eyes. "Hello, Almasi."
"King Kovu, please, believe me. My daughters would never do anything to harm King Joto and ruin Giza's title. It was not them. I swear as their mother and a former member of the elite guards."
"I do not believe you. Which is why you will be punished for their crimes."
"Sire, please," she went in terror.
"Fret not. You will not be executed. Just do some... odd jobs around the castle. For example, Nyeupe, you have a new weapon, do you not?" Almasi's eyes widened in terror. "Where the tip of your finger feels like a lightning strike?"
"N-No."
"Be sure she does not perish," Kovu said as she walked away. "She's no good to anyone dead."
Nyeupe laughed evilly as he equipped his new glove, his hand already sparking.
As Kovu walked away, her smirk quickly formed when she heard Almasi scream in anguish, the poor innocent woman's torture now beginning.
Kovu's takeover was more successful than even she imagined. Her rule seemed iron-tight. Her only regret is that she didn't know the fate of her niece. If it was her in the position of the servant... she would have dropped her in the middle of the sea.
Unfortunately for Kovu, the servant she sent was too greedy to think in such a way.
It was common knowledge that Faunus children sold for a fortune in the black market, especially newborns. Even fellow Faunus could obtain an obscene amount in this evil practice. This was the plan of the "nurse". And sadly for poor Kijani, the nurse was successful. She sold the princess of Kiburi to a shady man and ran off rich.
However, the goals of the man remain a mystery, for a Huntsman found and arrested the wanted man and took the girl to a nearby orphanage. Months passed since that day.
"You sure about this, Blake," Yang asked.
"Positive."
"I mean, we could always do what Weiss was planning."
"No."
"Look, if it's about it being from a stranger, we could always ask Sun. You know he'd be more than happy to-"
"NO! Yang, there are countless Faunus children without a proper home. Kids who are abused and neglected and even thrown away or forgotten. It's especially bad for Faunus. Every child deserves a happy home. Besides, do you really want a child to go through what you did? Feeling like they were unwanted by their parents?"
"Okay, that one stung a bit. Geh. Uh, you sure we'll find a kid here? This looks like a horror set."
"That's what most orphanages look like, Yang. Well, orphanages for Faunus."
"Yeah. We're definitely adopting. No way am I leaving a kid in this nightmare factory."
Blake smiled. "Thank you, Yang." The two then walked up to the orphanage.
The proprietor, a drunk old man holding a bottle, opened the door. "What ya want?"
Yang's eyebrow twitched. 'We need to save a kid from this puke.'
"Yeah, I got some brats," he said as he led the women into the rundown orphanage. "Got mostly six and up, think about four boys and six girls, maybe?"
"What do you mean by maybe," Yang asked.
"Don't really keep track of these little shits. If they disappear, who gives a fuck?"
Yang tightened her grip angrily, her eyes turning red. They went back to lilac when Blake grabbed her hand. She looked at her wife to see that Blake was just as angry but holding herself back. They had to bear with it until they found a child.
Then, crying was heard.
"GODDAMMIT," the old man went as he threw down his bottle, shattering it. "I JUST PUT THAT LITTLE FUCKER TO SLEEP! WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO SHUT THAT FUCKER UP?! CRY AND SHIT! CRY AND SHIT! ALL THAT LITTLE FUCKER EVER DOES," he yelled as he stomped toward a room, the wives following him.
He then kicked a door open, and a young girl near a cradle jumped. "P-Pa."
"WHY IS THAT LITTLE SHIT CRYING AGAIN?! I THOUGHT IT WENT TO SLEEP!"
"I-I'm sorry."
"That damned crying is why no one wants to adopt that little shit! Months of that wailing little shit! What does it take to shut it up?!"
Blake ignored the man she desperately wanted to shoot and walked up to the crib, the girl stepping back in fear. Blake looked down and saw something shocking. "A Lion Faunus? That's one of the rarest of our kind," she said as she reached down and gently caressed the baby's cheek.
Then, something shocking happened. The baby stopped crying. It seemed to actually relax before grabbing Blake's finger and looking at her with big green eyes.
The moment Blake looked into the baby's eyes, it was over. For her anyway. The baby wasn't done.
She laughed adorably as she reached out toward Blake, finishing her off.
Blake picked up the laughing baby, held her in her arms, and carefully held her as she traced her hands through the baby's crimson hair.
"This is it," Blake went.
"Huh," Yang went.
Blake then turned toward her wife. "Yang... this is it. This is our baby," Blake said with a smile and teary eyes.
Yang smiled before turning toward the proprietor. "So, about the paperwork?"
"Screw that. Just get that little shit out of here."
"Well, that was easy." With that, the women left the orphanage, their daughter sleeping on Blake's chest.
"You got enough proof," Blake whispered when they were far enough away from the orphanage.
"Hell, yeah," Yang said as she took out her scroll. "Sent it all to Glynda. That place will be shut down in a week, tops."
It was actually five days.
When the couple finally reached their house, Yang realized how adorable the baby was.
"You should have let me deck that guy at least once. How could anyone yell at something this adorable?!"
"I'm honestly wishing I did now," Blake said as she scratched the baby's chin, making her giggle before she grabbed and teethed on Blake's finger.
Yang immediately took a picture of the scene. "That's too adorable. Wait, what's the kiddo's name?"
Blake jolted. "We... never asked."
"Well, we're her moms. Why don't we give her a name?"
Blake looked at Yang before looking at her new daughter. She looked at the girl's ears, her crimson hair, and her adorable face for any hint of a good name. Then, she looked into her eyes. The same eyes that basically hypnotized Blake when she first saw the girl. Those beautiful, pure, hypnotic green eyes. Then, a name came to mind.
"Verde."
"Hm?"
"Verde Xiao Long."
"Verde Xiao Long. Hey, that has a really nice ring to it. What do you think, kitten? You wanna be called Verde?" The baby laughed as she adorably clapped her hands. "Verde it is! Welcome to the family, sweetheart," Yang went as she scooped up and hugged her now laughing daughter.
"Yang, don't be so rough."
"Ah, don't worry," Yang went in a nasal tone since Verde playfully grabbed her nose. "She's a tough kid. She's a Xiao Long, after all."
Blake smiled with a giggle before her scroll vibrated. Blake looked at it. "Oh, no."
"What," Yang asked after she removed her nose from Verde's grip, replacing it with her finger. She then looked at Blake's scroll. "Oh, what?! We JUST adopted our daughter and we already need to go on a long mission like that?!"
"Yang, what are we going to do? We can't deny this mission."
"And my dad won't be able to babysit this week. We can't exactly go all the way to your parents."
"And Ruby is in New Mantle with Weiss. What are we going to do?"
"Hm. . . AH! I'VE GOT IT!" Both her wife and daughter gave Yang curious looks.
Later, Yang was knocking on the door of an apartment. The door then opened.
"Hm? Yang?"
"What's up, Vomit Boy?"
"Uh, what's with the adorable baby?"
"ISN'T SHE?! She's my new daughter," Yang said as she rubbed her cheek against the now giggling baby. "We named her Verde, the most adorable baby in the world. Aren't you, Kitten," Yang asked in a baby voice before kissing her baby's cheek, making her laugh.
"Uh-huh. Adopted?"
"Yuppers."
"Did you really come to my apartment to brag about your kid?"
"Well, that's part of the reason."
"Part?"
"The other part is that Blake and I were assigned a pretty tough mission, so we need a babysitter."
"Oh, no."
"Oh, yeah," Yang said as she placed her daughter in Jaune's arms, the cute baby smiling up at him. "Oh, and Jaune, even though I only had that angel for a day and a half, if anything happened to her-" Yang grabbed Jaune by the shirt and yanked him toward her, making him look into her red eyes. "I will castrate you and make you eat your own balls before ending you then myself."
"That's the Yang I remember."
Yang raised an eyebrow. "You used to be a lot more scared."
"I've been through a lot since we beat Salem."
"That was almost two years ago."
"A lot can happen in that time. So, you'll be back in a week?"
"Yup."
Jaune sighed. "What does she eat? WHOA," Jaune went when Yang threw a bag on Jaune's free arm that could have been used as a dumbbell.
"Gotta love being married to Blake. She had EVERYTHING prepared! Bye, Kitten! Mama will be back in a week," Yang said as she walked away... slowly.
Verde laughed as she waved.
"Give her a bath every day!"
"Obviously."
"Make sure she gets plenty of sleep!"
"Uh-huh."
"There's also an exercise book."
"Yang?"
"Oh, and Blake found all the educational channels for her to-"
"LEAVE!" Yang then bolted. Jaune sighed before looking at the baby, the girl looking at him and smiling. "Huh, you already have teeth. That's a Lion Faunus for you, I guess, Jaune said as he rubbed the baby's cheek, Verde playfully biting his finger.
Jaune laughed because of how much it tickled. "Quite the little chomp you got there, sweetheart," Jaune said as he went into his apartment.
He then placed the baby on his couch, letting her teeth on his finger while he looked at her. "Hm, you know, Verde, you remind me of someone." The baby looked up at him with curious, beautiful green eyes. Jaune sighed when he looked at those gems. "Too bad there's no way you'd be related to her. Still, a red-haired Lion Faunus? What are the odds? You're too light to look like her, though. Though, I bet you're going to look just as beautiful as her when you grow up."
Verde tilted her head.
"Ah, you're curious, eh? Well, Verde, let me tell you a story. The story of the Beautiful King of Pride, Joto the Amazon Goddess."
This was not the last time Jaune would babysit little Verde. Even when Jaune got his new mansion and his own son, the Xiao Longs trusted their only daughter to the legendary Huntsman on many occasions, just as Jaune trusted them with Argent. However, it would seem that Jaune babysat more than the mothers, which would explain why Argent was closest to Verde when growing up, save for his crush on Lyra, of course.
During that time, Verde would ask Jaune for unexpected favors.
"You want me to train you?"
"Mhm," a three-year-old Verde would ask Jaune as he was rocking the barely one-year-old Argent to sleep and placing him in his bed.
"I don't know. Shouldn't you ask your moms for that?"
"Oh, don't worry, Uncle Jaune. Mom already began teaching me how to punch," she said as she ran up and punched Jaune's thigh, which was all she could reach with her height. "But I wanna learn from you, too. I don't think mom's ninja moves fit me."
"Well, you should still let Blake teach you some of her 'ninja moves'. Trust me, stealth techniques will help you out in the long run."
"Okay, but can I still train with you? I wanna learn that awesome wind thing you're famous for."
"The Wind Blade?"
"Yeah!"
"Shh."
"Oh. Um, yeah," she said as she looked nervously at the now snoozing Argent. "Please?"
Jaune looked down before he looked at his daughter, not knowing that she was his. In doing so, he made a fatal mistake that no father could resist: he looked into his little girl's pleading eyes. Jaune groaned. "I'm going to regret this. Come on. Into the backyard."
Verde cheered silently.
Yang grabbed Jaune by the collar. "You unlocked my baby girl's Aura," she asked through gritted teeth.
"It was to keep her safe. You know how intense training can get. Besides, I thought you would have already unlocked it by now."
"I WAS GOING TO WHEN OUR TRAINING GOT TO A CERTAIN LEVEL! YOU JUST TOOK AWAY A SACRED MOTHER-DAUGHTER BONDING MOMENT," she yelled as she violently shook Jaune.
"Uh, mom? Did I make a mistake," Verde asked Blake.
Blake sighed. "No, sweetie. There's nothing wrong with wanting to learn. So, how is Jaune as a teacher?"
Verde smiled. "Great!" She picked up the wooden sword. "I think I can even do the Wind Blade now!" She then took the stand and tried to concentrate. With a little yell, she swung the sword and made a small breeze. "Uh..."
"You're getting it, kiddo." She looked at Jaune, seeing him basically wrestling with Yang, holding her back. "Don't worry. You're only three. It takes a lot of strength to make a Wind Blade, but you'll get it when you're older."
"WHOA," Yang went after Jaune redirected himself to get behind Yang and armlock her from behind.
"Why don't you show your mom that little style of yours?"
"When did you get this good?!"
"I have my ways."
"What style is he talking about, Verde," Blake asked.
Verde smiled up at her mother before grabbing the other wooden sword and taking her stance.
"Hey, that's the Xiao Long Style Stance," Yang went. "Oh, she looks like a little badass!"
"Yeah. Turns out she's a dual-wielder and has a lot of talent in that style."
"Ha-hah! My little girl is a sword martial artist! That sounds seriously badass! Now then..."
"WHOA," Jaune went after Yang tossed him.
"As much as I'm proud of my baby girl becoming her own flavor of badass, SHE SHOULD HAVE LEARNED THAT LEVEL OF COOLNESS FROM HER MOMS, NOT HER UNCLE! TIME FOR YOU TO GO OUT WITH A YANG, HERO," Yang went as she lunged at Jaune.
Blake sighed as she watched Yang and Jaune fight. "What am I going to do with your mother," she asked Verde.
Verde shrugged. "Cut her allowance?"
"There's an idea."
"WAIT A MINUTE," Yang yelled.
"Still, I'm curious about what your uncle taught you," Blake said as she grabbed the last wooden sword on the ground and took her stance. "Why don't you show your mother what you can do," Blake asked with a smile.
Verde smiled excitedly before taking her stance. Then, mother and daughter charged at each other, sparring for the first time in what will be many fun training sessions.
Verde had many experiences such as these growing up. Raised by loving mothers, taught by her powerful father, and loved by her half-brother and her cousins. Though she sadly had no knowledge of her true lineage, she was still raised into a fine young woman her mother would be proud of.
And unbeknownst to her, she was getting ready for the day, now not too far in the future, that she would return to her birthplace and save it from her power-hungry aunt as the daughter of a heroic King. She would one day return...
As the Princess of Pride.
"Mchanga, it's been fourteen years. I don't think we'll-"
"I dare you to finish that sentence, Maji. I'll turn you into a roast."
"But we've searched all over Remnant. We haven't even found Jaune."
"We're not looking for the Outsider. We're looking for the Princess."
"But-"
"SHE'S ALIVE!" Mchanga sighed heavily. "She has to be. Joto's legacy can't end. Not like this. Besides, I'd rather die than go back to Kiburi. That woman has turned our home into hell. I don't even recognize it anymore. Especially when she allowed THEM back into the Kingdom."
Maji looked down, tears welling up at the memory of their home.
"Look, let's just... get a drink or something," Mchanga said as she walked into a bar, Maji following her.
Mchanga regretted her decision when she saw it was full of rowdy, dirty, drunk men; cheering and partying. "Urgh."
The two walked through the crowd, headed toward the bar when something unexpected happened.
"CHEERS TO ANOTHER JOB WELL DONE!"
"Oh, man. I can't believe that crappy plan of yours worked."
"Screw you, Twerp! My plans rock!" Mchanga's eyes widened at the voice.
"Like hell they do, Jerk. The only thing you're good at is banging." Maji was shocked at the voice.
"Oh, please. At least I can get some. You still haven't got Tech to bed. I got to bang Raven."
"Well, I banged to the Belladonna's, Willow, and Jaune."
"We both banged the Belladonna's and Jaune."
"Well, I was better."
"Bull."
"You're just pissed because I'm rig- HEY! THAT WAS MY BOOZE!"
"Oh, you snoozed. HEY!"
"Uh-oh. Did you sneeze, Jerk?"
The sisters glared at one another, growling like lions before bursting out laughing. They then cheered before downing their drinks.
"KITO," Mchanga asked.
"VITO," Maji cried out happily.
The sisters did a spit take, both coughing violently.
"No fucking way," Julie went.
"Please tell me that was from the OTHER side of the bar," Jade asked.
The twins then looked up to see Mchanga and Maji. "Oh, fuck," they went in unison.
"IT IS YOU," Mchanga cried before lunging and hugging Julie, burying her face in the beauty's breasts.
"HEY! HANDS OFF THE MERCHANDISE! YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO TOUCH 'EM, LET ALONE HUG 'EM," Julie yelled as she pushed Mchanga off of her. "And no, you don't get the 'Ex Discount'. No one does. Unless your name is Branwen or Arc, no touchy," she said as she took another shot of booze.
"Same goes for you too! If you're not a Schnee or Arc, back off!" Jade had her hand, stopping Maji from getting near her
"Oh, Vito, you have no idea how glad we are to see y-" Maji began as she went in for a hug, only for Jade to push her away completely, hand on pudgy cheek.
"And don't call me that. The name's Jade now."
"Jade," Mchanga went.
"These days, I go by Julie."
"JULIE?! YOU TWO TOOK ON OUTSIDER NAMES," Mchanga yelled.
"Of course. We ARE Outsiders. Why keep a name to a kingdom we're not affiliated with anymore?"
"Affili- Kiburi is your home," Mchanga yelled.
"WAS. Not anymore. It wasn't worth living there anymore. Not with that bitch hounding us all the time," Jade said as she took a shot.
"What are you two even doing here? Did Joto send you to drag us back," Julie asked as she tried to drink out of a bottle. When she saw it was empty, she looked behind her to see a guy sitting alone, with an unopened bottle at his table, the guy passed out drunk. She swiped the bottle, opened it, and drank.
Mchanga's eyes widened. "What did you say?"
"Hm? Joto didn't send you," Jade asked.
"Y-You two don't know," Maji went.
"Know what," Jade asked.
"The King is dead."
Jade and Julie were quiet for a bit. Then, Julie shot up, grabbed an empty bottle, shattered it, and held the sharp end at Mchanga's throat, who yelped "You have ten seconds to tell me that was a crappy fucking joke," she said with absolute rage in her eyes.
"By the ancestors, you didn't know," Mchanga said. She then began to cry. "Thank the God of Animals. She really was lying. You two didn't kill the King."
Jade smashed her fist through the table as she stood up. "THE FUCK DID YOU SAY?!" the two partners flinched
"Kito, Vito, Kovu placed the blame on the King's murder on the two of you."
The twins were quiet for an uncomfortable while, their eyes shadowed.
"MOTHERFUCKER," Julie roared as she threw her shattered bottle. It was flying right at the bartender, but the old man easily caught it without looking up from the glass he was cleaning. He was too used to this crap, throwing the bottle away in a bin.
"You two. Our hideout. You're going to tell us EVERYTHING. Got it," Jade growled.
"Of course," Mchanga said.
"Hopefully, you can help us," Maji said
"Help with what," Julie growled.
"In finding the Princess."
"The what," the twins asked in unison.
"We have a lot to tell you," the partners said in unison.
The twins rode on their motorcycles with Maji and Mchanga, Mchanga rode with Julie on her Stormhawk and Maji rode with Jade on her Striker, heading to their hideout.
"Now start talking," Julie said. "What do you mean help find the princess?"
"After you two were gone, Joto was pregnant," Mchanga told them.
"Pregnant?"
"Really?" The partners nodded. "But how? She had many admirers, but she didn't have a lover with any of them," Jade said. "The only person she loved was our big brother. Unless they..."
"Come on, Twerp, even if we wanted it to be, it couldn't. Giza was gone for a while, he was trying to stay faithful to Mvinyo. And besides even if he and Joto had, she would've been showing signs of being pregnant way early."
"That's true."
"And no way in hell would she sleep around either," Julie said in a defensive tone. The twins knew the King well and knew she wasn't the type of woman. "You two know who the father was?"
"No idea. Even till this day, no one knows," Maji said.
"But after she had the princess, the king was dead. Kovu found her body, roaring sadly, and accused you both of killing her," Mchanga told the twins, who both gritted their teeth growling.
"That filthy lying," Jade snarled.
"BITCH," Julie finished snarling.
"We should've killed her before we left," Jade said looking at her older twin.
"Wouldn't have done any good for us if we did," Julie told her.
"She claimed you two still blamed her for Giza's death," Mchanga told them.
"That conniving bitch," Julie snarled.
"We may have acted out, but we never blamed Joto for Giza or The Guard," Jade snarled. They arrived at their hideout. It was a large two-story roundhouse in the jungle.
"Woah, nice place." Mchanga admired the home. "You two have been doing well," she said as they got off the bikes.
"Be impressed later," Jade told her. "So with the king dead and the baby gone, that means Kovu is now king, right," she asked the partners, who nodded.
"Figures," Julie said slowly shaking her head. "We'll get back to the baby later. What else has been happening in Kiburi?"
"Nothing good," Maji said.
"Aside from Kovu placing the blame on you two for killing the king, the White Gorilla Tribe have moved higher in the kingdom and the Grey Hyena Tribe has been returned to the kingdom as well," Mchanga told them.
"THE GREY HYENAS," the twins yelled.
"Why in the hell are they back" Jade asked.
"That bitch called us corrupted, but those bastards stole, terrorized, and even killed citizens in Kiburi! That's why the king banished them in the first place," Julie yelled.
"Kovu said it was in order to strengthen the kingdom's forces since some of the Feline Faunus aren't exactly fond of her being king," Maji said.
"That makes sense, but still to go that far," Jade said.
"No way in hell we're gonna stand here while it's happening" Julie said. "Kiburi may not be our home anymore, but we still care for it and have others we care for there too."
Jade nodded. "Is our mom okay?" she asked. Maji and Mchanga looked at each other sadly briefly then away. "Hey." She walked up to them "How's our mom?" The partners still didn't answer.
"Okay, this isn't funny," Jade said in a slight angry tone. "Say something!"
"After Kovu announced that you both were responsible for killing The King," Maji said her voice cracking a bit.
"Since you two weren't in Kiburi to face punishment, they... took Almasi for your place," Mchanga finished, her voice cracked as well. Hearing this horrified and shocked the twins, they're eyes watered, gritting their teeth, Jade lowered her head shaking it slowly while Julie balled her fist tightly and let out a scream/roar.
