Chapter 20: Elements of Surprise Pt 1
Dread, Naught and Frozen Killer were flying through the canyons in a ship as Naught piloted it, looking for something. Or someone. "This is the spot, right here. Land." Dread said. As Naught landed the ship, a squad of Dreadnaughts exited the ship and got in formation. "He's not gonna show." Naught said with doubt as he, Dread and Frozen Killer exited the ship. "Oh, he'll show. After all, I have something he wants." Dread said. Naught looked around, not seeing anything. "I don't know. There's no sign of him." He said. Suddenly, the wind around them started to pick up. "Whoa." Naught said as a giant dust cloud was coming towards them. Just then, the wind started blowing the Dreadnaughts away. "HELP!" Naught cried as the wind caught him too. He grabbed onto Dread's wrist for support. "Let go of me, you lutz!" Dread exclaimed, forcing Naught off his wrist. Naught was blown back into the ship, but the bay door closed on his fingers.
Just then, as Dread and Frozen Killer stood within the center of a tornado, a certain face appeared. Another Elementor…made of air. "What is it you want, Dread?" Air Elementor asked. "It's not what I want. It's what I can give you." Dread said, pulling out a piece of tech and opened up a map. "What's this?" Air Elementor asked. "This is where your comrades, Earth, Water and Fire are being held. This…is N-Tek." Dread said. Just then, the tornado died down and transformed back into his true form. "It's taken time and men to get this information, but now it's yours." Dread said. Air Elementor tried to grab the map, but Dread pulled it back. "After all, I am more than happy to help your people. As so long as they help me." Dread said. "I understand." Air Elementor said. Dread handed him the map. "You've proven useful, Dread. So long as you continue to do so, it will not be forgotten." Air Elementor said. "I must warn you. N-Tek is heavily fortified. Getting inside won't be easy." Dread said. "I'm counting on it." Air Elementor said. "Good. Which is why I will be sending Frozen Killer with you. He has proven to be a match for our enemies." Dread said. "Very well. Try to keep up." Air Elementor said as he disappeared with the wind. Frozen Killer conjured a slide of ice and followed him while skating.
Just then, Naught fell back out of the ship. "What did he say? Where's Frozen Killer? What happened?" He asked. "You mean what's going to happen. Max Steel and his little team are about to meet their match." Dread said, cackling into the air.
(Intro)
Meanwhile, inside N-Tek, Max and his team were training. They were practicing hitting holographic targets that pop up at random. Berto put on some sweet tunes to help kick up the sessions. "Sweet tunes, Berto. Who're we listening to?" Max asked. "Cole Plante. Thought it might kick up our training sessions." Berto said, tossing a few thunderbolts at a few targets. "Up is right!" Alex exclaimed, soaring around like an eagle, hitting several targets. "Not only that, guys. Berto and I heard that he's doing an outdoor show here in Copper Canyon this weekend and scored us some tickets. Enough for the whole team. Wanna get Sydney, Kirby and Tawny, and go?" Vandana asked. "For sure. It's been a few days since the Crush Basher incident. It'll be good to hang out with our friends." Xena said. As the team continued to attack every target that popped up, the more that popped up, the more tired they were getting for each target they hit. "Berto, did you set this thing up to 11 or what?" Rayne asked. "Yeah, and would we be expecting an army of little red dots to invade us soon?" Steel asked as he de-linked from his Stephan droid. "It's just a simple test of our skills, amigos. We did a good job of destroying the targets we got to, but we didn't exactly get all of them." Berto said. "No joke. There's like, what? A gazillion of them?" Rayne asked. "Actually, 143." Steel said. "That's just it. Most of us have super strength, super flight and super accuracy. But when it comes to super reflexive speed, we're a bit…slow." Berto said. "He's right. Especially for superheroes." Max said. "So, how do we fix that?" Alex asked. "I'm not exactly sure." Berto said.
"Iden, Berto, I think that before we get into anything involving speed, I should tell you guys something." Max said. "What's that, Max?" Iden asked. "N-Tek's true mission." Max said. "True mission? What're you talking about?" Berto asked in confusion. "For the past few months, we've been doing a little digging into the information I got from the ship in the Artic before we blew it up. We discovered that the Ultralinks you've captured, including the Elementors, were sent under the command of someone named Makino." Max explained. Iden and Berto were shocked by this. "From everything I've managed to find, Makino's been planning a major Ultralink invasion to attack Earth. N-Tek's been preparing for it for a long time. Especially ever since before my dad died." Max explained. "I…I never knew about any of this. I knew we were under orders to gather Ultralinks within Earth's orbits, but I never knew about Makino or any of this." Berto said. "And we think we might have a way to learn more about Makino." Xena said. "How?" Iden asked. "We need to talk to the Elementors." Max said.
Later, the team headed right down towards the holding cells. "Max, I don't think we should do this. Besides, the holding cells are highly advanced in security. We'll never get through to the Elementors." Berto said. "Not necessarily. Steel and I planned ahead for that." Max said. "Time for Stephan to do what he does best." Steel said, accessing Stephan. He hacked into the systems and deactivated the security around the entrance to the holding cells. As the team entered the isolation chamber and headed towards the holding cells, they glanced at the many Ultralinks N-Tek had collected and placed in isolation. "Look at that." Xena said. "Dear old Daddy's been busy." Vandana said. "So many Ultralinks." Rayne said. "Max, this is beyond…brutal." Steel said. "I know. They might serve Makino now, but even they don't deserve this." Max said.
As the team approached the holding cells, Max unlocked the entrance and opened the door, revealing the 3 Elementors, Ferno, Granius, and Typhis, imprisoned within 3 of the cells. "Well, well, what have we here?" Ferno asked. "It is Max Steel and his little friends. Along with the abomination." Granius said. "The traitor." Typhis added. "Watch what you say. He doesn't remember who he was. His memory core was damaged." Max said, defending Steel. "What do you want?" Typhis asked. "We want answers." Steel said. "We don't answer to you!" Granius exclaimed as he pounded against the stasis field, getting shocked. "We know about Makino. He's your true leader, yes?" Max questioned. The Elementors looked at each other, shocked at how Max knows Makino's name. "We know he plans to lead an Ultralink invasion on Earth. But we want to know why and what Steel has to do with all of it." Max said. "You know our master's name and his mission, and yet, there's so much you don't know." Typhis said. "Yes. What are you? Where do you come from? How did Makino create you?" Max questioned. "You'll find that out soon enough." Ferno said. "In a matter you'll never forget." Typhis said. "Is that all you have to say?" Xena asked. "Then again, we could tell you everything you want to know about our kind, about Makino, and about…your father, Max Steel." Typhis said. "My father?" Max asked in surprise. "Yes. We can tell you everything. If you let us out of here." Typhis said. "Yes. You all can even be part of our little brotherhood. After all, the traitor is still one of us." Ferno said. "How bad do you all want the truth?" Typhis asked. "Go on." Ferno said. "Do it." Granius said. "Let us out. No one has to know." Typhis said. But the team wasn't fooled. "Don't waste your time. We don't take offers from our enemies so easily." Max said.
"We're wasting time. These elemental blowhards aren't gonna tell us anything." Wandella said. "Yeah, let's just go." Zad said. "Good call. The security will be coming back on any minute now." Steel said. The team turned around and walked out of the holding cells. "You'll be back! We can assure you that!" Granius exclaimed before the door closed. But while the team exited the isolation chamber, Max stopped and looked at the isolated Ultralinks. After a while, he made a decision.
Meanwhile, the team was waiting outside the isolation chamber after exiting it. "Where's Max? The security's gonna kick back up any second now." Xena said with worry. "Oh, here he comes." Iden said. Max exited the isolation chamber…and he was holding an Ultralink under his right arm. "Uh, Max, did you just take an Ultralink out of the isolation chamber?" Berto asked with worry. "Yeah, I did. If Forge and the Elementors aren't gonna give us anymore answers or clues about Makino or N-Tek's true mission or even my father, I'm gonna use an alternative." Max said. "But Max, do you know what Dad's gonna do if he finds out you took that?" Yeager asked. "With all the stuff he's not telling us? And I've seen everyone's schedule. It'll take them a long time to do an Ultralink count." Max said. The team nodded in understanding. Berto felt a little hesitant at first, but agreed. Suddenly, the alarm went off. "Perimeter alarm!" Alex exclaimed. Berto opened his map of the canyons outside the base and saw 2 signals coming right at them. "2 sets of signals. One of them formed right out of thin air. And they're both headed right for us." He said, opening a camera shot of Frozen Killer skating on his ice slide with a big tornado swirling next to him.
As Frozen Killer and Air Elementor continued their way towards N-Tek, everyone inside was preparing for battle. "Security protocols in place! Let's go!" Forge ordered over the P.A. system. Max and his team met up with Forge, Kat and Jefferson, and entered the armory. "There are no inclement weather patterns in our vicinity. Whatever this thing is, it's with Frozen Killer and it's not natural." Kat said. "Do you think it could be them? Are they finally making their move?" Jefferson asked as he ate a bag of chips. "Don't know. But I'm not taking any chances." Forge said as he put his armor on. "They? Who're they? And what's their move?" Iden asked. "I have a hunch. And it probably involves our house guests." Max said. As all of N-Tek headed for the main entrance, Kat and Jefferson hopped into their Jump Jets. Max and his team changed into their suits. Al readied the outer defenses. As the main doors opened up, Forge led his forces to meet the 2 enemies. Max and his team followed behind as Al closed the door behind them. As Frozen Killer leapt off his ice slide and landed back on the ground, his landing created a whole field of ice in front of N-Tek. Al contacted Forge through a video call. "The winds that tornado's generating are strong, Commander. But not strong enough to infiltrate the main base walls." He said.
Forge glared up at the tornado, knowing that it wasn't an ordinary tornado as it transformed back into Air Elementor. "Cerulis, the Air Elementor, we meet again." Forge said. "Nice to see you again, Forgey-pants!" Air Elementor, nicknamed Cerulis, attacked with a wind blast. Forge fired his blaster, but the wind blast blew him and most of N-Tek down. Cerulis chuckled as they recovered. Frozen Killer stomped his right foot and created a wall of icicles, blocking N-Tek from advancing towards them. "Let's take them down!" Forge ordered. "Way ahead of you! Steel, put Stephan in auto-mode and target Frozen Killer." Max said. "On it, Max." Steel said. He accessed Stephan and put him in auto-mode. Stephan readied his chainsaws and charged towards the icicle wall. "Xena, Yeager, Alex, Iden, you guys help Stephan take down Frozen Killer." Max instructed. "We're on it, Max." Xena said as she, Yeager, Alex and Iden followed Stephan. "Everyone else, with me." Max said. "Lead the way, Max." Vandana said. "Go Turbo Flight!" Max called, morphing to Flight Mode and taking off as Vandana, Wandella, Zad, Rayne, C.Y.T.R.O. and Berto followed him. "Max, you got a good soundtrack to go with this fight?" Wandella asked. "Yep. Let's spin it, Steel." Max said. "Consider it spun." Steel said, playing the soundtrack they picked out. "What's up, Puffy?" Max asked as he and the team flew in towards Cerulis. But when they tried to attack him, they just passed right through him. "Huh? What just happened?" Zad asked in confusion. "We just passed right through him!" Rayne exclaimed. "Oh yeah. He's made of air." Max realized. "So, this is Max Steel and his little band of heroes. I've looked forward to meeting you." Cerulis said. "And we figured we'd meet you eventually. So, likewise." Max said. Cerulis hit the team with an air blast, knocking them down to the ground.
Meanwhile, Stephan, Xena, Yeager, Alex and Iden stepped onto Frozen Killer's ice field as they prepared to fight him. "You got lucky on us last time, Ice-Face, but you won't get lucky twice." Alex said. "So, this is the Frozen Killer who nearly froze up the city? I've heard a lot about you. But I'm not impressed." Iden said, unveiling his suit's claws via his toxic powers. Frozen Killer looked between his 2 opponents, ice forming around his fists. Alex shouted as a red gorilla appeared and disappeared inside him. He pounded his chest and charged towards Frozen Killer. But Frozen Killer swung his left fist and punched Alex, knocking him down as the ice shattered. Iden charged towards Frozen Killer as he readied his claws. But Frozen Killer quickly turned around and gave Iden a hard shove, knocking him down with a minor blizzard.
Meanwhile, Max's group recovered from Cerulis' attack. "Everyone okay?" Max asked. "We're good, Max." Vandana said. "Yeah, we've had the wind knocked out of us before. But never knocked out by the wind." Zad said. "Observation: That was a hard wind." C.Y.T.R.O. said. "Come on, team! Let's get back into it!" Max exclaimed. The team took back off into the air. "First Fire, then Earth, then Water, and now Air. You were right. It was a matter of time before we got to this guy." Steel said. The team all started blasting Cerulis, but nothing even phased him. Just then, Cerulis summoned his wind, caught Vandana, Wandella and Zad, and threw them into a canyon wall. "And it seems Air is the strongest of them all." Steel said with worry. Just then, Rayne, Berto and C.Y.T.R.O. were thrown into the 3 Mana Quints after Cerulis fired a blast of air. "Yeah, I noticed." Max said with worry as their team fell to the ground.
Meanwhile, Yeager tried to strike Frozen Killer with his mana hammer, but Frozen Killer skated around him and shoved his back, freezing him in a block of ice. "Hey, no one does that to my brother!" Xena exclaimed as she summoned a dozen mana eyes and started firing hundreds of mana blasts. But Frozen Killer summoned an ice wall and blocked the mana blasts. Then he shoved it into her, sending her into the canyon wall. Just then, Frozen Killer turned to see Stephan glaring right at him. Stephan readied his chainsaws while Frozen Killer formed an ice sword in his hand. After a moment of glaring at each other, they charged towards each other and started clashing with each other's weapons. As Stephan clashed his chainsaws with Frozen Killer's ice sword, he activated his jets and boosted towards him. But Frozen Killer skated around him, formed ice around his left foot and kicked him in the back. As Stephan was about to retaliate, Frozen Killer blew a powerful ice breath from his mouth and froze him in a block of ice.
Meanwhile, as Max continued to fight Cerulis, he was thrown to the ground as his team started to recover. "You know, Berto, I think we're starting to get your point about not being up to speed." Vandana said. "Appreciate the compliment, but I don't think that matters for the moment." Berto said. Cerulis was about to make a grab for Max, but the team blocked his way. "Stay away from him, Windbag!" Wandella exclaimed. "Stand aside. The traitor belongs to me." Cerulis said. Just then, Forge and his soldiers started firing at him, drawing his attention away from Max's team. But the laser fire wasn't having any effect on him. "Aim for the orb in his head!" Forge ordered. N-Tek started firing at Cerulis, but he used his power to absorb the laser fire. "That's not good." Forge said with worry as Cerulis fired his newly powered air blast, destroying one of the tanks.
"Okay. If laserblasts won't hurt you…" Al said as he activated N-Tek's newest addition to the outer defenses. "…maybe blast waves will!" The cannons fired dozens of missiles which exploded close to Cerulis and knocked him down with the blast waves. But then, Frozen Killer skated up, formed an ice disk in his left hand and tossed it at the canyon wall, slicing off a rock piece that fell and destroyed one set of cannons. As Cerulis recovered, he blew a gentle wind at the rock, causing it to fall on the other cannons, destroying them. "Oh, man. These guys are good." Al said with worry.
Suddenly, Stephan broke free from his ice prison, activated his jets and tackled Frozen Killer. As the 2 started to continue where they left off, Cerulis looked up and saw Jefferson and Kat fly in with their Jump Jets. "Jump Jet 1 approaching target." Jefferson reported. "Hey, I'm Jump Jet 1!" Kat argued. "Sorry, Kat. Jump Jet 2 approaching target." Jefferson said. They circled around Cerulis and prepared to attack. "Knocking wind in 3, 2, WHOA!" Jefferson cried as he dodged a wind blast and locked onto Cerulis. "I have the target in my sights." He said. "Then he's in double trouble." Kat said as she flew up from behind Cerulis. "Hit him with the vortex interceptors." They fired several missiles from their Jump Jets and knocked Cerulis down to the ground, feeling the effects taking hold on him. "It's working! Hit him again!" Kat called. As Cerulis recovered, Kat and Jefferson fired more missiles at him, but veered off-target and plummeted straight towards Forge! "Oh, crud." He mumbled. He tried to shoot the missiles, but they landed all around him, singeing him as they blew up on impact.
Meanwhile, after tackling Frozen Killer and knocking him down, Stephan readied his chainsaws. As Frozen Killer recovered, he formed icicles on his sword and fired them at Stephan. But Stephan reacted quickly and sliced the icicles with his chainsaws. Frozen Killer charged towards Stephan, ready to stab him with his sword. But Stephan activated his thrusters and spun around Frozen Killer, dodging the attack. And as he did that, Stephan swung his left chainsaw at Frozen Killer's sword and shattered it upon impact. Frozen Killer just stared at his hand without any emotion.
Meanwhile, Cerulis started affecting the air around the Jump Jets. "What gives?" Jefferson asked. Kat looked at her gages, realizing what was happening. "He's changed the composition around us. It's too thin. The missiles don't have enough thrust to stay airborne. And neither do we. Jefferson, get out of here!" She exclaimed as she flew out of the air area. But Jefferson couldn't pull out in time. His Jump Jet jammed up and started to plummet out of the air. "It's no good! Everything's jammed up! I'm going down!" He cried. "Jefferson!" Kat cried. The team saw Jefferson's Jump Jet going down. "Say goodbye to Mama for me." Jefferson said. But before he could hit the ground, Max managed to fly over after he recovered and caught the Jump Jet from underneath. "We got you, Jefferson." He said. "The thin air has our Turbo propulsion systems in overdrive. But we're okay." Steel said. But then, Max lost power and dropped to the ground with the Jump Jet. "I owe you guys one." Jefferson said. Max groaned as he recovered. "I think you misread that one, Steel." He said. "Yeah, you're right. My mistake." Steel said.
Meanwhile, Stephan and Frozen Killer continued fighting like street fighters. They threw punches and kicks at each other, but they each either blocked, dodged or countered each move. Stephan even kicked up his attacks with his chainsaws and jets, but Frozen Killer managed to hold his own and fight back. But then, Frozen Killer motioned his hands and trapped Stephan in a block of ice before breaking him out and knocking him down.
Meanwhile, Cerulis started fighting the other N-Tek agents as they started firing at him. He used his air powers to blow them away and destroy their tanks. Just then, Forge ran up, firing at him while yelling angrily. But Cerulis gave him a simple backhand swat and sent him flying into one of the wrecked tanks, chuckling sinisterly. As he turned to fight the other N-Tek agents, Max's team flew in. "Uh, Max, I don't think taking on a massive air beast by air isn't a good idea." Vandana said. "Not to worry, guys. Steel and I have cooked up a brand-new move for such an occasion." Max said. "And it's high time we tested it out." Steel said. Max flew back down to the ground and changed back to Base Mode. "Hey, Airhead!" He shouted, getting Cerulis' attention. "You want me?! Well, come and get me!" He exclaimed. Cerulis started flying towards him. "MAX!" Vandana, Wandella and Zad cried. Just then, Max motioned his hands and created a large disk made out of Turbo Energy. "Turbo Saucer!" He shouted as he tossed the disk at Cerulis. The disk entered his torso and released a blast of Turbo Energy, knocking him down and out. "Now that's what I call breaking wind." Steel said. "That just leaves only one." Max said.
Meanwhile, as Stephan struggled to recover from Frozen Killer's attack, he saw Frozen Killer walking towards him. Making his last move, Stephan popped off his head and threw it towards Frozen Killer. But Frozen Killer motioned his right hand and froze the head in a block of ice before it could explode. He walked up to the headless Stephan and formed an ice dagger in his right hand, preparing to finish him off. "Turbo Shooting Star!" Max's voice shouted. Frozen Killer looked up and saw Max flying towards him, using Turbo Shooting Star. Max tackled into him with the move, knocking him out. "And that's breaking the ice." He said.
Jefferson and Kat walked up to Max as he and his group helped Stephan's group recover from their fight with Frozen Killer. Kat placed special handcuffs on Frozen Killer's wrists. Just then, his whole appearance started to change, making him look normal with tan skin and a brown mullet hair. "Whoa. Neat cuffs." Max said. "Your dad designed them. They're capable of dampening powers of anyone we use them on." Kat explained. "Oh, boy." Max said as he saw Forge walking up, completely covered in soot. "Looks like someone's finally out of breath." He said. Everyone just looked at him, not getting the idea. "What?! The Elementor! I'm talking about the Elementor!" He exclaimed. "Uh, he's made of air. So, technically, he never runs out of breath." Max said. Forge groaned, giving up. "Take them inside with the others." He said. The agents captured Cerulis in an energy field and dragged him inside the base while Jefferson carried Frozen Killer in over his shoulder. Unknown to anyone, Dread's device took form over Cerulis' orb.
As N-Tek was cleaning up the mess outside, the agents placed Cerulis and Frozen Killer inside their cells. "Welcome back, Ice Elementor." Ferno greeted. "Nice of you to join the party." Granius said. "So, this is the young human who possesses the ice element." Typhis said as he looked at Frozen Killer with interest. Frozen Killer just sat on his new bed, remaining silent emotionless. Cerulis chuckled under his breath, knowing that everything was going as they planned.
Meanwhile, Forge, Jefferson, Kat and Ieuan were running through Cerulis' diagnostics. "How in blazes did those 2 know where to find us?" Forge asked. "We don't know, Commander." Kat said. "Better yet, what were they after?" Forge asked. "That part isn't so clear." Jefferson said. "And why would they risk an all-out attack?" Forge asked. "We're not sure, sir." Ieuan said. "UGH! DON'T WE KNOW ANYTHING?!" Forge shouted in frustration. But then, he noticed that Max and the others weren't there. "And where's Max and his team?" He asked.
"Fools! How could you be so careless as to get captured?!" Cerulis exclaimed. "Ha! Is that some kind of joke?" Ferno asked. "Yeah! You and Icy are in here too." Granius said. "Yes, we are. Just as we planned." Cerulis said. "What's that supposed to mean?" Typhis asked. "It means breaking into N-Tek is all but impossible. Put on a good enough show, and they'll open up the front gates for you." Cerulis explained. "Yeah, so they can put you in stasis!" Ferno exclaimed, shocking himself as he punched his stasis cell. "Yes. With you. With all of you. And that's exactly the point." Cerulis said, pointing to Dread's device on his orb. "What's that?" Granius asked. "A stasis inhibitor." Cerulis said. "Inhibitor? You mean?" Typhis asked. "I mean, this is why Frozen Killer and I allowed ourselves to be captured." Cerulis said.
Meanwhile, Max and his team were in a separate room. Max was typing something on the computer while the others were trying to figure out what Cerulis and Frozen Killer were up to. "It makes no sense. As strong as they are, Cerulis and Frozen Killer wouldn't have been able to break into N-Tek." Berto said. "He's right. So, what was the point of attacking us if they knew it was gonna be that tough?" Alex asked. "Max, you think you might have any thoughts on why those 2 would just attack our base like that?" Vandana asked. "Hardly. I'm more interested on Frozen Killer's backstory. And I think I might've found it." Max said. He showed the team what he found. Frozen Killer's whole file with 2 separate pictures. One of Frozen Killer, and the other as a little boy around 7. "It says his real name is Lorenzo Charles. And here's a news clip about him from 10 years ago." Max said as he played the news clip. "A tragic story. A local family known as the Charles family was just recently attacked by a group of unknown terrorists. Police have uncovered the bodies of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and some other relatives, but the bodies of young Lorenzo Charles and his twin sister, Rozalia, were never found. The only other surviving member of the Charles family is the older sister, Vallissa, having been away at Summer Camp during the time of this recent attack." The news anchor said in the clip, showing the footage of the attacked house, the bodies of the parents and relatives, and photos of Lorenzo, Rozalia and Vallissa. The team couldn't believe what they just saw.
Meanwhile, Cerulis activated his inhibitor and deactivated the cells. Frozen Killer looked at his cuffs, seeing that the inhibitor deactivated them too. He used his power to freeze them and break them off, resuming his icy look.
Meanwhile, as Forge, Jefferson and Ieuan were continuing discussing what Cerulis and Frozen Killer were planning, Max and his team walked into the room. "You! Where exactly have you kids been?" Forge asked in suspicion. "Nowhere. We've got nothing to hide, Uncle Ferrus." Max said. "Oh no. You're not doing that again, Max. I know you kids are hiding something from me." Forge said. "You're one to talk, Uncle Ferrus. We know you've been hiding something from us too." Max said. "Yeah. All due to your trust issues. Meaning you don't have any faith in any of us at all! Not even your own children." Steel added.
Meanwhile, the Elementors and Frozen Killer walked out of their cells. "No alarms." Ferno said, noticing that the alarms hadn't gone off. "The inhibitor has disabled N-Tek's alerting systems as well. For all they know, we're still completely contained." Cerulis said. "Then let's get out of here!" Granius exclaimed. "No! You 3 weren't the only ones. If we release the Ultralinks, our army grows and we'll be unstoppable." Cerulis said.
Meanwhile, the argument was still going on. "I do have faith in you and this team!" Forge snapped angrily and offended. "Then why don't you tell us about N-Tek's true mission?! What's really going on?! What are we preparing for?!" Max asked angrily. Forge was going to answer, but then he silenced himself. "Yeah, that's what I thought." Max said with disappointment as he and his team turned around to leave.
Meanwhile, the Elementors and Frozen Killer had just made it to the locked door to the isolation room where the Ultralinks were kept. "We need to get in there." Cerulis said. Ferno, Granius and Typhis attacked the door, but didn't even scratch it. "No! I told you, brute force won't work. You'll only activate N-Tek countermeasures." Cerulis said. Suddenly, a couple cannons activated and trapped the Elementors in an orb energy field. Frozen Killer managed to get out of the way before they got trapped. "As I was saying." Cerulis said.
Meanwhile, Kat, having left the briefing room before Max and his team walked in, was walking towards the holding cells to get answers from the Elementors.
"This is all your fault, you air-head!" Granius exclaimed. "Get us out of here!" Typhis exclaimed. "Yeah! What you did before with that inhibitor thing!" Ferno exclaimed. "Idiots! The inhibitor was designed specifically for stasis containment fields. There's no telling what might happen if used against this energy field." Cerulis said. "Well, I say we find out!" Granius exclaimed. "No!" Cerulis exclaimed as Granius, Ferno and Typhis attempted to activate the inhibitor. But suddenly, the inhibitor's energy started fusing with the energy field, causing something to happen to the Elementors. Frozen Killer took a step back as the Elementors started screaming.
Meanwhile, as Kat finally arrived, she saw that the Elementors' cells were empty and the whole room pitch black. "What in the world?" She asked as she investigated. Suddenly, there was a low growl as a large shadow appeared behind her. She turned around and gazed with shocked eyes.
Meanwhile, Max and his team were walking down the hallway. "I still can't believe Dad won't tell us anything about Makino or N-Tek's true mission." Yeager said. "Well, hopefully, the Ultralink Max took will provide us with some answers." Rayne said. "That reminds me. Max, where did you put that Ultralink before Cerulis and Frozen Killer attacked us?" Vandana asked. "I put it in my backpack. Once we get home, I'll run some tests." Max explained. Suddenly, they heard Kat's scream. "That's Kat!" Berto exclaimed. The team hurried over to the holding cells. Forge, Jefferson and Ieuan, having also heard Kat's scream, hurried over to the holding cells as well. When they got there, they saw that the cells were empty. "The Elementors are gone!" Max exclaimed. "And so is Frozen Killer!" Xena exclaimed. "Kat!" Forge exclaimed as they saw Kat wobbling over towards them. Jefferson caught her as she lost the strength in her legs. "What happened?" He asked. "Who did this to you?" Alex asked. "And where are the Elementors and Frozen Killer?" Steel asked. Kat pointed towards one of the cells. Frozen Killer stepped out from it, his ice sword in hand. "What did you do to her?!" Max demanded. Frozen Killer shook his head and pointed to the cell. Suddenly, 4 big hands emerged from the cell. "Uh, Berto, you know that show we were gonna hit up this week?" Max asked. "Yeah." Berto said with worry. "I'm not so sure we'll be around to make it." Max said with worry. Just then, a larger Elementor with 4 orbs on its head emerged from the cell, roaring at the whole team.
WOW! Wasn't that amazing?! As Max and his team grow even closer to finding out more about N-Tek's true mission, by questioning the 3 Elementors, and taking one of the Ultralinks from the vault, the final Elementor, Cerulis of Air, along with Frozen Killer attacked N-Tek and allowed themselves to be captured. After locking them up, Max and his team discovered Frozen Killer's true identity, Lorenzo Charles. By then, Cerulis used a device Dread gave him to deactivate the stasis cells holding him, the Elementors and Frozen Killer. But as they got captured again, an unfortunate accident caused the device to fuse 4 Elementors together and create…Ultimate Elementor!
