Mila and Tech decided to keep the guest list simple for their special day. Close friends and family only, they agreed on. But before they could even think about sending out the invites, they needed to decide where the ceremony and reception would take place. When Mila told her family she might not be getting married in the same church her parents married in, the whole family was shocked by this.
"Relax, we're still gonna have a church wedding." Mila said. "But, we're looking at ones in Tech's world. This is his wedding too, and I'm embracing some of his traditions too, or creating new ones."
"But Mila, what about the traditions of the Encanto?" Bruno said.
"Traditions are nice, but Tech and I, we're literally from different worlds. We want our wedding to be… well, original. If we can't find a good place in Tech's world, then we'll get married in the church here."
So, Mila and Tech scouted out different churches every chance they got to decide which would be the best one to hold the wedding ceremony. They already decided on flowers; each half of the couple chose a flower they liked as a symbol of their unity. Mila chose, of course, marigolds, whereas Tech… he chose a very special flower from Naboo. Millaflowers. Not only did they share Mila's name, but they were a lovely red that went nicely with the marigolds' colors and represented how Tech's love for Mila was a hot burst of color that could only be described as a match made in Heaven. But, for one reason or another, the couple couldn't agree on one.
Some churches were too big, others were too small. Some were too far to travel to, and others had nice interiors, but they didn't really fit with the flowers. But then, Padme and Anakin came to the couple with an idea of their own.
Anakin and Padme felt so many memories run through them as they entered a beautiful church with blue and green stained glass windows, walls, and everything. The same church, in fact, where they'd gotten married in front of the whole galaxy almost five years ago.
"This place is muy hermosa!" Mila gasped. "So beautiful."
"It is an adequate size." Tech said. "How do you know of this place?"
"This is where we had our second wedding." Padme sighed happily.
Padme remembered it as if it were yesterday. Standing up at that altar in the most beautiful dress she'd ever worn with her groom in front of her. She remembered how handsome Anakin looked in his suit and how romantic it was when he gave his vow to their two children as well as Padme, in light of how this wedding would open a new door to Anakin openly being a father to his two children as well as a husband to the angel he now called his wife.
"The difference between that and our first wedding, this time we had our family and friends there to witness and celebrate it." Anakin said, standing up at the altar with Padme, and getting a little sense of deja vu.
"Remember when it was us standing here, you and me?" Padme looked into Anakin's eyes.
"How could I forget?" Anakin said, pulling his wife a little closer. He leaned forward and looked into her eyes. "It was the day, the first time, in front of everyone, I didn't hesitate to do this."
And Anakin kissed his wife as passionately as the two of them had the day they were married at this very altar. Mila found it so romantic how these two managed to keep their romance alive after years of being together. It appeared there was a little something magical about this altar that just somehow brought a man and a woman from two totally different worlds together as one and blessed them with a marriage that would last forever.
Anakin had been born a slave who later became a Jedi, whereas Padme was born into a very wealthy family and became both a queen and a senator. Without either half realizing it, Padme married a prince, but even if Anakin weren't royalty, that did not lessen their love. And, the kind of love that Anakin and Padme shared, that was exactly what Mila and Tech hoped to have in their marriage.
Tech and Mila looked at each other.
"What do you think, Techy-Bear?" Mila said. "Think you wanna get married here?"
"It is a good size for our guests, and not too bad a trip for them, I hope. If this is where you would like to hold the ceremony… that's more than enough for me."
Mila and Tech kissed at that moment to seal the decision. They had a venue picked out, but that was just step one. Now, they needed to set a date, time, and send out the invitations
