A Double Twisted Nightmare Chapter 10

Claire Redfield is inside a diner shooting at zombies. She is here to collect the g-virus. As of twenty-four hours ago, the Wesker's discover some rather disturbing information about the one they sent in to collect it. While she does great work, she'll turn everything over to her people should it prove to be more valuable than the original price. The g-virus is certain more valuable than the price the Wesker siblings offered, so Claire was sent in to get it before she could.
Neither her brother or the Wesker's wanted her to go. Unfortunately, they had limited number of people to use in missions at this time. Chris had volunteered to go but it was vetoed due to the fact that if some one saw him, a member of the S.T.A.R.S who had disappeared nearly three months ago, and reports this, the government may get involved. So Claire was given everything medical wise to ensure she won't get infected but Albert warned her that it might not be enough, for they had nothing on the g-virus and the t-virus has only so much preventives.
Claire had wanted to do this to help her future husband, her future lover and her brother remain safe from Umbrella. She had been dropped off via helicopter earlier, but now has been backed into a corner. 'This isn't looking good!' she shoots one more zombie and makes a break for the door, when a young man appears in it with a gun.
"Don't shoot!" Claire yells holding up her hands. "Get down!" he shouts. She does and he shoots a zombie that had been about to bite her. "Come on!" he said grabbing her and they get to a police cruiser.
As they drive away from the diner, the young man speaks, "I'm glad I found you. My name is Leon Kennedy. Are you from here?"
"No. I'm here... on an assignment of my own doing." Claire couldn't bring herself to tell him the whole reason why she was here. "My name is Claire Redfield. I take it your not a local." she said.
"No. Just got here to start my first day at RPD. What a way to start." Leon said with a bitter smile.
"Where are we going?" Claire asks him. "To the police station if anyone know what is going on, they would." he said.
However they encounter a cluster of abandoned cars blocking the way. "Wait.. I know how to get there from here. Watch yourself." Claire said and they get out. Zombies start coming their way, Leon follows Claire to an alleyway that takes them to the front of the station.
They conserve their ammo and weave past zombies, they get the gate shut to prevent them from coming in and go inside. Inside, however the place was deserted and no human or zombie is seen. "I knew because of the chaos outside that this place might be hit but I didn't think it would be this bad." Leon said in concern.
Claire sees a computer terminal by the front desk and accesses it. Albert told her that where the g virus is, it is underneath the RPD building. However she would have to find her own way there, due to the fact that she can't use the front way. As she brings up the cameras of the place she sees an officer shooting at zombies down a hall. "Hey Leon! Check this out!" she calls to him.
He comes over and they watch, "Hey Marvin! I've found the way out! Send reinforcements to east hallway! Hurry!" the officer said to the camera. "Let's go!" Leon said. They go over to the shutters that lead to the east side of the building, but when Leon pulls its switch it didn't go up all the way. It left them no choice but to crawl underneath it, much to their disgust.
They run as fast as they could to the watchman's room, no zombies were in the hall. As they get in the room, they hear the officer cries, "Open the damn door!"
"We're here!" Claire shouts as Leon pulls the door up but like before it doesn't open up all the way. The officer tries to squeeze under and they help by grabbing his arms, but zombies grab him from the other side. The officer is sadly spilt in half due to the strength of the zombies. Claire and Leon are horrified, but see that he is clutching a notebook. Leon takes it, then they hear pounding on the wooden door.
A zombie comes in and they shoot it before running back to the main hall dodging zombies that have woken up. Claire was able to get under and get to the other side. Leon was not as fortunate, he barely is halfway through before a zombie grabs him by his leg and pulls him back. "Damn!" he shouts trying to fight it.
"Leon!" Claire grabs his arm and pulls him away from the zombie. Then someone comes up to the shutters and uses them to splat the zombie's head. As they look at the man, Claire is happy to see Marvin, but he was holding his side.
"Claire! Never thought I would see you again!" Marvin said leaning against the shutters.
"Likewise Marvin." Claire said.
"Hey aren't you the rookie?" Marvin asks Leon as he gets to his feet.
"Yeah, Leon Kennedy and who are you?" Leon asks him.
"I'm the guy who's suppose to be your boss, Marvin Branagh." Marvin introduces himself. Marvin coughs and they help him get to a couch. "Listen Leon, there's one raid armor left over by the front desk. It doesn't offer much protection against zombies but its better than nothing." Marvin tells him.
As Leon went to change, Claire checks Marvin over, "Say Claire what brings you back? I thought you were on vacation with Chris in Miami." Marvin asks.
"Yes well it turns out that we had forgotten something important here at the S.T.A.R.S office. Bad timing though, but Chris is waiting for me." she said.
Leon then comes dressed in the raid uniform, "You look great Leon." Claire said. "Thanks. What had caused the people to turn into zombies?" Leon asks Marvin.
"Unfortunately, no one has any concrete idea has to how, but the most likely one is that our water treatment plant somehow did it." Marvin says looking over the officers notes.
"If I'm looking at this right.. there is a secret passage way underneath the goddess statue right over here." he points to the statue in the main hall.
"It needs three medallions in order to open from this side and all three statues that have them are scattered through out the station: Here in the main hall, the lounge just outside the library and the last one is the west storage room on the third floor." he tells them.
"Claire check out the security cameras and see what kind of trouble you two may encounter." Marvin tells her and she goes down to the front desk to check.
"Leon.. Do you know why she is here?" Marvin asks Leon.
"Just that she has an assignment.. You think differently?" Leon asks him.
"Yes.. She and her brother disappeared almost three months ago. They were on vacation until she goes back to school, but the semester for higher education started weeks ago. Not only that Jill Valentine, a former member of S.T.A.R.S and her brother's teammate, checked out where they went but no one found them in Miami. Now Claire just shows up out of the blue? Something isn't adding up." Marvin said.
Leon thinks about what he told him and he already believed that Claire is hiding something. Mainly because she knew how to get to the station after she told him she wasn't a citizen. Now Marvin reveals that she is the sister of one of the S.T.A.R.S members and that they had disappeared for nearly three months. 'Why didn't she tell me that her brother is a cop?' Leon wonders at Claires actions.
The girl with said name came up to them, "There are definitely zombies in the halls and rooms. There is also something else but I couldn't get a good look at it." she said.
"I remember David taking about a creature with a brain exposed that killed Rita. I can't remember what he called it, but it was as blind as a bat. Sorry but that's all I know." Marvin tells them. "Here take this knife Leon. Remember only has a last resort on the zombies, guns are better as long as you hit their heads." Marvin said giving Leon his knife.
"Are you sure we can't take you to the hospital?" Leon asks.
"Look Leon, there is no cure for this. Even if you take me out of here, the city has zombies everywhere. There is no hospital that is working now. I'll take care of myself." he said and shoos them away.
Leon uses the knife on a switch box and opens the shutters to the reception room. They grab what they find before going into the west hallway, as they walk they here a radio come to life on a corpse against the wall. They check the dead cop and find a wound that a zombie didn't make, due to the fact his face had a deep laceration.
Then a noise is heard down the hall, "Who's there?!" Leon shouts.
"Leon, I don't thinks it's human." Claire said.
They walk down the hall slowly, they see a busted window to their left and as they get ready to turn the corner a zombie started beating on the window. They quickly went into the operations room, they find a map and some ammo before trying to open the door but it was locked. They hear banging on the double doors and realized zombies have gotten in.
"There, that window!" Claire said pointing up at a busted inside window. Claire goes over first followed by Leon, they see a zombie cop going at a vending machine. Claire gets ready to shoot but Leon stops her.
"Leon! That guy maybe wearing a uniform but the man himself is long gone. Its a zombie now, if we don't take him out he'll become trouble." Claire hissed at him.
"Yeah but-" Leon tries to say.
"No buts! They will go after us if we let them!" Claire said getting ready to shoot again.
"Wait... I'll do it." Leon said and shoot the zombie twice in the head before he goes down.
He hears shots behind him and looks to see Claire had shot a corpse with one arm on the ground. "We have to play it safe." she said and they check out the safety deposit room.
They got ammo and a roll of film but need keys to open the rest of them. They make their way to the dark room, after boarding up the lone window and develop the film to a old man holding a red book and a red jewel. "Hey Claire, let's go to the west office before we make our way upstairs." Leon said and they go there.
They see an officer sitting in his chair and Leon shoots at his head. They look around to see a 'Welcome Leon' banner in the office and find his desk but it was locked. "It looks like they wanted to test you. Why don't you find out your prize is? I'll check the isolated office." she said going in said office.
Leon finds all their names and unlocks his desk to find his nameplate and two gun parts. 'This can fit my gun.' Leon picks up the high capacity mag. The other part, a speed loader fits an SLS 60, the same model Claire has. She screams from the office, "Claire!" he goes into the room and sees a zombie over her. He shoots it in the head causing it to fall and Claire moves shakily towards him.
"You ok?" he asked.
"Yeah, thanks." she said.
"Here this was in my desk." Leon said giving her the part.
They head upstairs to the second floor, finding a corpse with ammo and shooting a zombie. They head in the girls locker room and grab what is necessary before finding a strange safe box. They mess with it until it opens, revealing a spare key for the deposit room. They can't get past the steam coming from the pipes so they head back to the deposit room and put the spare where the number two is suppose to be.
After grabbing ammo they head all the way up to the third floor to find a key with a club symbol on it. "There are doors with this symbol, this key must unlock them." Claire said.
The head down a hall that will take them to the west storage room when they see and hear something on a window. "What the hell?!" Leon nearly shouts.
"I think it was that creature I saw from the camera." Claire said. They find a note at the end of the hall calling the creature a Licker and advice on how to deal with it. They enter the storage room and Claire shoots at a zombie that was hanging from the ceiling. They find the maiden statue but it was sealed off with C4.
"We need a detonator for this." Leon said. They grab what they can including two hip pouches for extra stuff.
They leave the room and arrive at the library. "Leon be careful. There are three zombies in here that I saw on the library camera." Claire tells him. They walk across the bride when Marvin's voice is heard.
"Hey you two, come back here I got something interesting." Marvin said from the radio.
"All right, we will be there in a couple of minutes." Leon said. They get grab what they can and avoid the one zombie that's moving. Claire grabs a red book as Leon unlocks the door leading into the main hall.
They get to where Marvin is, "Good your here. Check this out." he said.
On camera were four people, one of them is an officer, "That's Kevin Ryman. Haven't seen him since before this all started. Glad to see he pulled trough. The lady in red in a woman named Alyssa Ashcroft, seen her on the news from time to time. I don't know who the other two are." Marvin tells them.
"We should bring them in. They stand a better chance in here, than out there." Claire said.
"The eastside first floor is closed off for the moment, you reach the courtyard from the second floor by going that way." Marvin said pointing up at the door on the east.
"However you need a special key to get through the door in the waiting room, it's in the shape of a club and I have no idea what happened to it." he said.
"We have it right here." Leon said showing him it.
"Good, but where did you find it?" Marvin asks.
"On the third floor, it was on a desk." Leon said.
"I see... Go and get those guys in before trouble happens." he said.
They make their way to the waiting room, and across the hall to find an art room. "Hey Leon that's the same statue from the photo we developed." Claire said.
They were able to combine the book and statue arm and get a ruby out of a staff as well as a keycard for the weapons locker in the deposit room. "All right, no dallying. Let's go get that group of people in." Leon said. As they walk down the hall they hear a helicopter, and then crash!
The building shook, "What the?!" Leon said. They check it out and a helicopter just crashed into the building. "The pilot didn't make it, let's go." Claire said at seeing the dead body. They reach the courtyard, "Oh, good! There are survivors here! We were just about to leave when that chopper crashed." Kevin said.
"Hold on, we will get you inside." Leon said trying to open the gate but it was locked. "Forget it. A key is needed and there is no time to track it down. Besides we didn't come here to find shelter." Kevin said.
"We came here to find Lt. Branagh. Is he still alive?" Alyssa asks.
"Yes he is in the main hall, but is injured, however we are not sure if a zombie got him or someone else. He didn't tell us." Claire said.
"Damn! Ok listen up, we came to tell you that Umbrella is responsible for what has happened. There are eight of us originally, now there are fourteen. The six new people in our group have been infected just before everything went to hell. The other four who made up our group are watching over them. Somehow they have made it this far without changing, but whatever it was is wearing off. We found out about a cure that can stop the virus but it is in the Umbrella R&D center, that's where we're heading." Kevin informs them.
"Umbrella is behind this?" Leon asked. Claire is silent but that is because she already knows this.
"Yes, there is a lab underneath the building here, the Spencer Memorial hospital and the R & D center. There are most likely more but these are the more popular ones." Alyssa said.
"You can't be serious? Underneath the RPD building?" Leon is skeptical. "Raccoon City has been under the control of Umbrella for decades. This place was a museum before it was converted into a police station, due to problems with the curators." Alyssa said.
"Yeah but listen there are human monsters also on the loose, a Russian that will have you combat zombies for a profit. There is also a wacked out French man, but he mainly wants the six newcomers that we have, and a group of mercenaries that are for Umbrella." a young man wearing a railway uniform.
"Who are you?" Leon asks.
"Jim Chapman, used to work for Kite Bros. Railway, at least until the outbreak." Jim said.
"My name is Yoko Suzuki, I was a student at Raccoon University. There are also more dangerous monsters than the ones you've encountered already. We encountered a monster called Thantos, it was an upgraded version of the zombies and it was a pain in the ass to destroy it. There are others but we don't know how many there are in the city." Yoko tells them.
"So how do we get rid of them?" Leon asks.
"Unfortunately, a rocket launcher is the only thing we found that can kill those suckers. Luck was on our side when we found one and used it on Thantos." Jim said.
As they all were talking they fail to notice the sparks coming from the helicopter. "I found these in the storage room under the gate. There useless to us cause there is limited ammo for them." Kevin says as he throws two guns over the fence.
It was a M19 handgun and a Quickdraw army gun, Leon takes the M19 and Claire the Quickdraw. "Are you sure?" Claire speaks and her face is shown.
"Yeah there's plenty of ammo around the station for those guns... Claire? Claire Redfield? What are doing-?" Kevin was about to ask her questions when the chopper explodes.
A fire breaks out and the alarms sound, gaining the attention of zombies nearby. The zombies were trying to bust down the outside fence, "Shit! You guys better get out of here!" Leon shouts as the zombies in the courtyard also move.
"Ok! You two let Marvin know what is going on and find yourselves a way out of this place!" Kevin yells as he and the others make their escape.
Leon radios Marvin, "Marvin! We got trouble! Marvin?!" Leon almost shouts but Marvin does not reply.
"Leon! Let's go!" Claire shouts, she is holding bolt cutters as she had unlocked the door leading into east hallway and board up the broken window. They go in and see the east office also locked with chains, which Claire gets rid of. Then after taking out the zombies in the room, boards the window and grabs everything that they can take. "Claire, this must be the handle that can turn off the steam in the showers." Leon said holding it.
"Yeah. Hey I found a fuse, let's see if it opens the shutters." Claire said picking up the fuse.
They remove a chair that had been blocking the door from one side and go over to the fuse box. Leon dispatches zombies that get to close, while Claire put the fuse in the switch box.
To their relief the shutters open and they get back into the main hall but there is no way to close the shutters from their side. They point their guns at it's opening but no zombies come near the door. "That's weird." Leon said and they make their way over to Marvin.
He was laying down on the couch, looking in more pain than they last saw him. "Marvin are you ok?" Claire asks gently as she touches him, causing him to jolt.
"Be careful! I'm on edge." he said. He sits upright and they tell him what Kevin and his group said.
He is silent for a moment, "This makes what Jill and the others said before true. S.T.A.R.S went up into Arklay mountains, late July, and first encountered all this. Because most of them were killed, everyone thought that they traumatized and couldn't make the story true. Even I thought the story was far fetched, the part where Umbrella was involved in making bioweapons. Now look where it all lead to." Marvin said bitterly.
"Look you two need to find those medallions." he said to them.
"Ok, we'll get back on it." Leon said.
They make for the west hallway, but things had changed since they came this way. Another window was busted and zombies were coming through, "Fuck! Claire run for it!" Leon shouts as they run down the hall shooting at zombies that get too close before arriving back at the operations room. Claire quickly cuts the chains and they go into the room they couldn't before the first time.
They find quite a few things including a detonator. "With this we can blow that wall. We just need a battery." Leon said. They also find another door that the map says leads to the records room, but it was locked with a heart shape symbol. "We'll try this once we find the key." Claire said. They leave the room for the safety deposit room and use the key card.
It unlock revealing a W-870 shotgun and a grenade launcher. "Whoa. This is an improvement. I'll take the grenade launcher." Claire said grabbing it. Leon grabs the shotgun and the ammo it had with it. They load their weapons before going back to the dark room, to drop off stuff.
"Leon. I'm going back to the west office to unlock the door leading into the main hall. I'll meet you in the S.T.A.R.S office." Claire said before leaving. Leon goes back to the showers and uses the handle to turn off the steam. He checks out the men's showers finding gunpowder.
Just as he steps outside the door, he hears something and it was not a zombie. He grabs some ammo on the couch and cautiously makes his way to the door, when an appendage grabs a corpse, brings it up to the ceiling and starts eating it. 'What?! Wait that's a licker. The note we found said as long as your quiet, you should get by them.'
Leon was engrossed in his thoughts that he failed to watch his footing and slipped on the wet floor. "Shit!" he said as he fell and the licker was on him. He blows it away with the shotgun but it wasn't enough and was about to attack him when a shot is heard and it burst into flames. It cries out before dying, Leon looks behind him to see Claire with her grenade launcher. "You ok?" she asks.
"Yeah thank you." he said getting up.
They go into S.T.A.R.S office, looked around the desks and find several useful things. However they cannot get into the weapons locker at this time. They go into Albert's office, Claire freezes as flashbacks come at her, remembering that this room is where her and Chris's lives we're changed forever.
"Hey Claire.. I think you should explain something." Leon speaks snapping Claire out of her memoires.
"What do you mean?" she asks. He holds up a picture, it has her and her brother in it and he is wearing his S.T.A.R.S uniform.
"You never told me that your brother is in S.T.A.R.S. Why didn't you tell me that you've been in Raccoon city before? And that you know Marvin and Kevin?" Leon questions. He had taken notice that Kevin knew who she was back at the courtyard.
"I... I didn't think it was important to mention that my brother is a member of S.T.A.R.S. He's not in the city, he's waiting for me back at Miami. I didn't tell you that I've been here before and that I knew Marvin and Kevin because I... The situation right now had me distracted. It slipped my mind to tell you that I knew them." she said. 'Please Leon, just drop it.' Claire pleads mentally for Leon to stop.
Leon is not satisfied with Claire's answers. 'She seems to have forgotten that she told me she was on assignment for someone. While the situation is bad, she is handling it better then she's letting on. But I'll let it go for now.'
Leon then searched Albert's desk and finds a battery. "Ok the detonator is ready, let's go back upstairs." he said. They go to the other side of the hall and unlock the door leading into the lounge, where the unicorn statue is. Going over the notes, they get the right combination and get the first medallion. They head through the library to where the maiden statue is and Leon sets up the detonator. "Quick! Behind that wall!" he said and they wait for it to go off.
Boom!
However they also heard a screech noise, "Great, a licker is in here. Keep an eye out." Leon whispers as they go over to the statue. It was in rough shape but they we're able to figure out the combo and get its medallion. As they walk pass the threshold, the licker jumps out. They fire at it until it was dead and leave back through the library to the main hall. "Leon, while in the STARS office I found the combination to a safe. Its in the west office, I'll go check it out while you get the lion medallion." Claire said.
They separate, Leon checks out the lion statue and gets the final medallion. He waits by Marvin, until Claire comes around the corner. "Here, we can carry extra stuff more easily." she said handing him an RPD pack, she already had hers on. "Thanks. Now let's open the secret passage." Leon said and inserted the medallions.
It opens up to reveal a gated entrance. "Yes! We can get out, let's get Marvin." he said pushing the gate open.
"Marvin!" Claire said and helps him get back to a sitting position. He presses on his wound, "Great you found a way out. Get going you two." he said.
"What? We're not leaving withou-" Leon tries to speak.
"Look I should've told you two this earlier, but I got bit by a zombie." Marvin interrupts him.
"It was someone I knew and I let my guard down. It wasn't the same person I knew." Marvin said.
"Then we'll get you to the R & D cen-" Leon again speaks but is interrupted again.
"Leon... its too late for me. Even if I go with you two, I'll just slow you down. Besides.. I'm changing. Before long I'll be a zombie like Brad was, like everyone else." Marvin said and Claire gasped in horror upon hearing Brad had turned into a zombie.
"It's been happening since yesterday, its only a matter of time... Listen there's something you need to know." Marvin continues to talk.
"Irons has not been seen since he ordered SWAT to go take out the zombies in the city. Before that every big weapon we had mysteriously vanished as well as the card shaped keys. I've been thinking about this, I pretty sure Irons was somehow involved in all this. I think he is dirty, so if you run into him, don't trust him." Marvin reveals his theory.
"Ok don't trust the chief, I'll take you at your word Marvin." Claire said trying to prevent tears from forming. She sad that Brad is gone and soon Marvin will follow, but she already knew that Irons was not to be trusted.
"And another thing, before I laid back down I saw something on the camera in the east upper hallway. It wasn't a zombie, it was a huge motherfucker. It was wearing all black with a trench coat and a hat to match. Be careful if you happen to come across it." Marvin said.
"One last thing... should you two happen to come back here and I'm gone... you need to take me out." He said.
"What! Marvin, you can't be seri-?!" Leon tries to protest.
"Did you not hear a damn word I said? Because it was Brad, my guard went down and I got bit. Even with a cure out there, there is no time for me. Once you change that's it, there's no going back. You've seen your fellow officers, they will go after you. Just as I will once I become a zombie. Don't make the same mistake! Promise me!" Marvin said face in pain as the virus goes through him.
"I-I promise Marvin. If we happen to come across you when your a zombie, I'll bring you down." Claire said looking away.
"..I promise. I'll shoot you if your a zombie." Leon said not looking at him.
"Good, now both of you get out of here." Marvin said.
They both go over to the entrance that will take them underground, they turn to Marvin.
"Thank you Marvin. We couldn't have gone this far without you." Claire said.
"Thank you Marvin." Leon said. Marvin nods at them and they go through the threshold.
The walls close back up, so they can't get back to the station from the secret room. "Hey Claire, there's a gizmo right here. If we have the right tool we can get back into the station this way." Leon said looking over a mechanism. They grab everything that is useful before taking an elevator down.
"Leon, about what Marvin told us.. It sounds like one of those creatures that Yoko told us." Claire said
"Yeah, we're going to have to be more careful." Leon said.
They arrive to find stairs that can take them further underground. As they go down they see an open doorway but decides to follow the stairs. As they hit bottom they find a generator, a door and a gun accessory. Claire check out the barred door, 'This must lead down into the sewers, but I can't open it from this side.' she is disappointed that she can't go that way to the lab. "Let's go back to that open door, the parts in this case needs a strange key but we have no guns that they're compatible with." Leon said.
They head back and go past the open door, onto a walkway made of grates. As they continue they hear footsteps, small ones then heavy ones accompanied with moaning. They look at each other, "Hey! Is someone there?!" Leon yells but there is no response.
They ready their weapons as they move forward, they arrive in a room filled with machines. They come across a doorway but it was blocked by an cabinet, together they push it back into place when they see a small figure hiding by some boxes.
"Hey, are you ok?" Claire asks. The figure looks up, it was a child, a girl.
"It's ok, we're here to help." Leon said.
The girl does not move, she had a look of horror on her face. "Behind you." she said.
They turn and see a creature they have never seen before. They get ready to shoot at it, but it throws it's arm on the grate they're standing on and pulls. The grate gives and they fall on a hard floor. They gather their bearings just before the monster comes down.
It starts swinging a metal pipe around and they shoot it but it doesn't do much damage until Leon hits it in the eye. "Claire hit that eye on it's shoulder!" he shouts.
However the place fills up with fog, "Leon.. this thing is hiding in the fog! Keep your eyes peeled!" Claire shouts also looking around. They creature surprises them, but they rebound and quickly unload everything they had on it's eye. Eventually it staggers in pain before falling over the railing into darkness.
"Hey little girl! It's safe! The monster is gone!" Claire shouts.
Where a ladder is, tucked up, the girl peers at them over the railing, "Are you it's gone?" she asks.
"Yeah it fell. Is there a way you can help us get out?" Leon asks.
"Yes.. but only if you two help me find my parents." she said.
"Sure, we'll help." Claire said. The girl disappeared and the ladder came down. They climb up and see the girl in the control room.
"What's your name?" Claire asks.
"Sherry, Sherry Birkin." she said.
"My name is Claire Redfield." Claire introduces herself.
"I'm Leon Kennedy. Do you know where your parents are?" Leon asks.
"Yes, they work for Umbrella. They help make medicine." Sherry said.
"Ok let's go." Leon said. Using the machines they were able to make a bridge to cross the other side. They walk eventually reaching an operators room.
"Say are you her boyfriend?" Sherry asks Leon.
"No, we just met in the city earlier." Leon tells her.
Claire giggles before remembering that she has already promised herself to Albert Wesker. 'Its too bad.. I certainly wouldn't have minded.' Claire liked the thought of being Leon's girlfriend.
'Dating Claire would be nice but she needs to come clean with what she is hiding.' Leon knows that Claire is hiding things and was determined to find out what they were.
"Claire there is not much ammo left is there?" Leon asks her.
"No, we need some more." Claire said.
"Wait. There was ammo back in the machine room and herbs I think. There're where you fought the monster." Sherry said.
"Ok I'll go back and get them. You two stay here." Leon said leaving back for the machine room.
"Do you think we can find my parents?" Sherry asks.
"I believe so." Claire answers.
"What brings you to this city?" Sherry asks.
"I came here to find something." Claire said, that was all she was going to tell her.
"Can we go up the ladder Claire? We can stay in the room above. I know we won't leave without Leon." Sherry said.
Claire thinks a moment, "Ok but just the room above us." Claire said. Claire goes first up the ladder followed by Sherry. Claire pushes off the manhole cover and pulls herself out, followed by Sherry. They were in the parking garage of RPD.
"I see the way out Claire, but its shut." Sherry said.
"Your right." Claire said, looking at the shutters that prevent them from leaving the garage. They get closer and Claire checks out the machine by the exit. "Great, this needs a parking pass to activate it. When Leon gets here-" Claire froze as she heard a gun cock.
"Well, well. Look at what we have here: the missing Claire Redfield and Dr. Birkin's daughter." a man's voice spoke.
'Oh shit, it's Irons.' Claire had been around the chief enough to know what he sounded like.
"Back away from the machine Claire and hands up." Irons said. Claire did as he said, she did not wanting Sherry to see her getting murdered.
"On your knees. Good. Miss Sherry tie her up." he orders her. Sherry looks terrified as she looks at Claire but she nods her head at her. Sherry grabs a bit of rope Irons throws at her and ties Claire hands behind her.
"What is the purpose of this Irons? The city is falling apart." Claire said.
"I know it's falling apart and it's all Umbrella's fault! After everything I did for them, they turn on me! But I'll get my revenge." he said. He goes over to the machine and uses his pass to activate the shutters.
"Claire?! Sherry?!" they hear Leon shout from the manhole.
Sherry couldn't hold herself back, "We're up here! Please help! Ow!"
Irons grabs Sherry arm hard, "Why you little brat, your coming with me." he said pulling her to the exit when it was big enough for him to go through.
Leon climbs as fast as he can as he hears Claire shout, "This isn't over Irons! I'll find you! You'll get what's coming to you!"
Leon pulls himself out and runs to where the shutters are starting to close. However Irons turn around and points his gun at Claire who is still tied up.
Leon stops, clenching his fists, "Chief Irons, just what the hell are you doing?!" he yells at him.
"Ah the rookie, a pity you came late. You would have made an excellent addition to the trophies." Irons said.
Once the shutters were to the point where Leon couldn't get under them fast enough, Irons takes Sherry away. Leon grabs the shutters and yells, "Sherry! We'll find you! Irons, you better hope you don't come across me again!"
He then turns to Claire, "What were thinking Claire? Why did you two come up without me?" he asks her.
"I'm truly sorry Leon. Sherry was getting restless about finding her parents. I thought just moving one room would be fine." she said disappointed in herself.
"It doesn't matter now. I'll untie you then we'll find a pass-" Leon speaks.
"Leon! Look out!" Claire shouts at seeing something.
Leon turns and sees a mutated dog as it jumps on him. He holds the dog back from biting him but the strength of the dog was unreal. Then a shot rings out and the dog is off of him. They turn to see a woman in a trench coat with sunglasses on holding a gun.
"You need to be on your guard more." she said.
"Who are you?" Leon asks.
She brings out an identification card, "Ada Wong, I work for the FBI. I'm been doing investigated work since this all started." Ada said.
'Ada Wong. She's the one who was sent in the retrieve the g-virus.' Albert had told her who was sent to get the g-virus.
Leon then unties Claire, "FBI huh? Care to inform us what is really going on?" he asks her.
"Classified. Just get yourselves out of here." Ada said.
Claire rubs her wrists, "We're looking for a little girl named Sherry. Do you know where Irons took her?" Claire asks her as she stands.
"Irons, scum of the earth. Unfortunately he has a couple of safe houses around the city. I'm not sure which one he took her to. Now excuse me." Ada said going to where the jail cells are.
"Hey, wait!" Leon said but she goes through the door.
"Forget her, let's focus on getting out of here and finding Sherry." Claire said. They take a good look around the garage and see three doors to chose from. "Hey that door must be where Irons came from." Claire said looking at the open door. "Yeah.. Claire I think the jail cells should be checked out. Not just because she went in, but there might be something. Why don't we spilt up and meet back here once we're done in those places?" Leon asked.
"Ok I'll check out where Irons came from, you go see the jail cells." Claire said and they separate.
September 30th 1:22 am
Leon looks at the clock briefly as he enters the jailhouse, and into the admittance office to find ammo and a map of of the basement aera. As he enters the jail he sees a body on the ground and shoots at it's head. He then hears moaning but sees that the zombies are behind bars. 'No need to shoot them.' Leon thinks as he makes his way to where a light is. He smells smoke from a cigarette when a voice calls out, "Hello? Someone here?"
Leon then sees a man in his late twenties sitting inside a cell, holding a cigarette. "Hey I see your all right." Leon said going up to the cell.
"Hey I'm glad to see another human. I've heard and seen zombies for days." the man said.
"What landed you in here?" Leon asks.
"Chief Irons." the man said with a sneer.
"My name in Ben Bertolucci, I'm a reporter. I found enough dirt on Irons and Umbrella that would've ruined them but I was found out and put in here." Ben said.
Leon looks for a way to free him, he checks the power panel but it was missing some parts. "It's missing a few pieces. Sorry, but I'll need to find them before I free you." Leon said.
"That's fine, as long as you don't forget about me." Ben said.
"Say did you see a woman in a trench coat in here?" Leon asks.
"No, why?" Ben asks.
"Never mind." Leon said.
'Where did she go?' Leon was confused as to how Ada vanished. He finds a crank that he grabs.
Leon then sees a parking pass on Ben's neck. "Hey, that pass. Can I have it?" Leon asks.
"No goods until you free me. Sorry but I want to get out of here and tell the world about-"
Ben never finished his sentence, a hand bursts through the wall and and crushes Ben's head. Leon looks horrified, as the arms moves through the wall like it was paper, before dropping Ben. He was dead and the parking pass out of reach. "Damn it! I better spilt before that thing comes after me." Leon leaving the jail.
He finds Claire waiting for him, "Leon, there's an elevator in that room that leads to Irons' office. But it has no power. Irons must have turned it off before he surprised me. There is a door to it's control room but it needs the diamond key." she said.
"I see. I was able to find a parking pass, but it's out of my reach. Parts are needed in order to get it." he tells her.
"Another thing, somehow that woman disappeared, I couldn't find her while I was there. And stay vigil, the monster that Marvin told us about is getting closer." Leon said.
"Oh, I found this." Claire said holding up a pendent.
"I'm pretty sure it's Sherry's. She must have dropped it when she tied me." she said.
The only door left was to the firing range, kennels, morgue, generator room and stairs leading back into the station. They go through the door and into the firing range, where they find another diamond door, a tin box and some ammo. They open the box to find a key with a beeper and a note that said there are some useful parts in the car it goes to. They check out the door that would take them upstairs but it was locked and required power to work.
"Let's head back to the garage, see what's in the car." Leon said. They get there a use the beeper to find the car, and open the trunk to find a JMB Hp3 and a gun stock that can fit Leon's Matilda.
"Here." Leon gives Claire the handgun.
"Are you sure?" she asks.
"Yeah, I can work with I got for now." Leon said putting the gunstock on his gun.
They head back through the door and shoot a dog that jumps out. "We have to through the kennels. Stay sharp." Claire said. When they get in the kennel room, they take out two dogs that are roaming, but leave the others alone due to the fact their in kennels. They ignore the barking as they gather things and leave. Just as they get outside the door another dog jumps out and Claire blows it away with her new handgun.
They find the door leading to the morgue, "We don't know if there's any wall to wall zombies, but..." Leon trails off as they look down the hall to see shutters closing off the generator room.
"We don't have a choice." he finishes.
Leon opens the door but to their relief there are no zombies. They find notes, flash grenade and some herbs as they cautiously open up the boxes where the bodies go. When they get to the last one, two corpses comes alive and they back away. Leon shoots at them with his M19 until their heads blow.
Claire checks out where one zombie had been laying. "The diamond key! We've found it!" she said excitedly and grabs it. They leave the morgue but go to where the shutters are and discover that a crank is needed, the same crank Leon found in the jail. The shutters go up as he uses the crank and they continue onwards to the generator room. They find some useful things including a part needed to open Ben's cell.
They then get over the power aera to turn on the generator. "I'll turn it on Leon." Claire said.
"Are you sure you know what your doing?" he asks.
"Yes. I took electronic courses back in school." she replies. She flips the switches and the power comes on, they see the door leading upstairs turn from red to green. They make their way back towards the kennels, as they enter they realize it was quiet, too quiet.
Weapons ready they slowly move around the corner and see two lickers tearing into a dog. They move slowly towards the door and slam it shut once they are safe. "That was too-" Claire tries to speak.
A licker jumps out and attacks them. They quickly shoot at it until it was dead. "I'll never say those words again." Claire promises.
As they get right of the door that leads to the garage Leon speaks, "Claire, let's get to the firing range diamond door and go back to where that elevator is that can take us to Irons office."
"If you think that would be best." Claire says.
They get back to the range when they hear moaning, they shoot the zombies from the dividers. Once they were dealt with, Claire uses the key on the door. They search the room finding a red herb and film. "Looks like we need to pay the dark room another visit." Claire said. They leave heading for the private elevator.
Claire unlocks the door where they find a shoulder stock that can fit the grenade launcher. As Claire puts it on, Leon grabs everything that is useful. Claire then turns on the elevator and they get in, going up. They arrive on the backside of RPD on a balcony, where they find an herb, and make their way to the chief's office.
Once inside they look around, finding emails addressed to Irons as well as his journal. "He seemed to have lost his mind, if he ever had one." Claire said as she looks through his journal. They see a heart shaped symbol on the door that tells them they need the heart key in order to get through.
Thankfully there is one more door in this room, they open it and see a stuffed tiger. "..Ok, looks like whatever is down this hall is as tacky as the office." Leon said.
They arrive at a private collection that every artist would love. In a barred part of the room, they see a parking pass. "It looks like it operates like the one I found in the jail. We just need the other part." Leon said. He would rather have them get this pass, than the one in jail. He didn't want Claire to see that. As they continue to explore, Claire picks up a picture called 'Relief'.
'The heart in it looks just like the one on Irons door.. wait.' Claire turns it around and sees that it is the heart key.
"Hey, check out what I found." she said.
She shows Leon the heart key, "Good, three down, one to go." he said.
"Leon.. I think we should go back to the garage and take the stairs up. We may find more stuff that way as well as more room if we need to escape the creatures roaming around." Claire said. Leon knew she meant the monster dressed in black.
"Let's go." he said. They get back to Iron's office but Claire goes over to the heart door and unlocks it. "Saves time if we have to deal with zombies or others." she said.
They take the elevator down, but just as they step back out into the parking garage, that hear growling. "Great they got in here." Leon readying his weapon as Claire prepares hers. They shoot at three dogs, before going past the basement door and reaching the door that will take them upstairs. Once they were up they cautiously go in to the breakroom.
They turn on the light, look around and find useful items. "This fuse ought to be good." Leon said pocketing it. They leave to go do down the hall, barricading the windows, when they hear eating sounds. They look at each other as they realize that the zombies, who were chasing the officer, are still there and they know what their eating.
Leon readies a grenade and throws it to them. It blows the zombies up, Leon puts the fuse in, and the shutters go up. They see the top half of the officer zombified and Claire shoots the head.
"Let's stop by the bathroom and press room. We never checked them out." Claire said. They do just that, finding first aid spray and ammo before reaching the main hall.
They slowly walk to where Marvin was last seen. "Marvin?" Claire calls. As they get to the couch, a moan is heard and Marvin turns towards them, they see he is now a zombie. "No!" Leon shouts.
Marvin stumbles towards them, Leon is frozen but Claire snaps out of it and shoots at Marvin's head until he stops for good.
Claire fell to the ground in shock over what she did, "Marvin.. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." she repeats, tears falling.
Leon gets out of his trance, gets down to where Claire is and brings her to him. Claire sobs in his chest, "You did good Claire.. You kept your promise." he said trying to comfort her.
"I know.. but it hurts. He was a good man." she cries. 'I never should've come here.' are her thoughts.
After a few minutes Claire calms down, "Leon let's go. We need to find Sherry." she said getting up.
"Are you sure your ready?" he asked getting up with her.
"Yes I won't let his death be in vain. We'll get out of here." Claire said. 'But I won't leave until my mission is done.' Claire had not forgotten why she was here.
"Let's go to the east side second floor. Where we saw those shutters before we met with Kevin's group." Leon said.
They make their way there and Leon cranks until the shutters go all the way up. They go into unexplored territory, "There's Iron's office. Depending where we are can take the elevator or the stairs." Claire said.
"Let's head upstairs first." Leon said. They head up to find things that can be of use to them, then head out a door to the balcony to find an herb. "Hey we're on the other side of the fire. Maybe we can find something that can put it out." Claire said.
She goes down the ladder first, Leon follows but before he is halfway down the ladder breaks. "Ah!" Leon shouts as he falls.
"Leon!" Claire goes over to him, crouching down as she gets close enough.
"Are you all right?" she asks.
"Yeah, just bruised." he said getting up.
"Now we definitely need something to put out the fire." Leon said. They find a pipe that can spurt water but it was not facing the fire.
"Let's hope we can fix it from this side." Claire said. Claire looks at the map, while Leon finds ammo.
"There's a boiler room down those steps over there. Hopefully we can find something that can change the waterflow." Claire said.
They go over the boiler when they hear noises behind the door. Leon readies his Matilda and Claire her 60 handgun. Two zombies come out and they take them down. After that they see gizmo where the water can change directions.
Claire turns it, before they head inside the boiler room. Claire finds gunpowder and Leon finds the clover key. "Ok we have all the special keys. There is no door that we can't unlock at the station now." Leon said.
"Yes, now let's put out the fire." Claire said.
They return to the roof and push down on the lever. The water puts the fire out, "Good, now we just need to get passed the chopper." Leon said. They go through the door grabbing an herb before facing the helicopter, however just as soon as they see it something moves it. "Wha-?!" Claire said in alarm. Then the chopper is pushed out of the way by a creature dressed in black.
"Shit! Claire! Back to the roof!" Leon shouts as it came towards them.
They get back outside, "Don't use your ammo! Jim and Yoko told us it would be a waste!" Leon still shouts as the monster comes through the door.
"Then what are we gonna do?!" she asks loudly, she dodges as it takes a swing at her.
"We're going to run and meet back up at Iron's office! It can't follow both of us!" Leon shouts.
It goes after Leon, "Now Claire! Run! I swear I'll meet you there!" he yells.
"You better!" Claire yelled before going through the door and ran all the way to the office.
Seven minutes pass before the door opens revealing Leon. "I lost him somewhere downstairs." he said.
"Yeah but we need to get moving if we want to get out of here and find Sherry." Claire said.
"Right. Let's head down those stairs by the ones we went up. If I recall the map right, the rooms down there are the interrogation and observation rooms." Leon said.
As they exit they keep an eye out for the monster. Once they were downstairs, they quickly board up a window before Claire unlocks the interrogation room. They go in, "Hey this combination.. There is a safe in the waiting room. That must be how it can be opened." Claire said. Then all of a sudden, a licker crashes through the mirror. Claire uses her grenade launcher to get rid of it.
"That was scary." Claire said.
"Yeah but it gave us a shortcut to the observation room." Leon said hoping over the divide. Claire follows and they find a box that looks like its missing something.
"Wait.. The red jewel can fit on this." Leon said taking it out and placing it on it. The box unlocks revealing a S.T.A.R.S badge.
"This looks like it can fit into that case in the underground facility." Leon said holding it.
"That's good, but we have no way of getting back there... Wait Leon there's a switch on it." Claire said. Leon sees it, flips it and it became a usb dongle key.
"We couldn't get onto the armory in the S.T.A.R.S office, due to it needing a computer key. This must be it." Leon said.
"Before that, there is one room on the westside first floor we haven't gone into due to the fact it needed either the heart or clover key." Claire said.
"Right the records room. We'll go there first, then we'll stop by the dark room." Leon said.
"Ok but what about the waiting room?" she asks.
"Hmm, it's not a good idea right now but maybe we should spilt up and meet in the dark room." he said unhappily.
Claire wasn't happy either but with a seven foot monster on the loose, they had little choice.
Leon unlocks the observation room door and they leave the room making sure they found everything that can be of use. They were passing behind the press room, when they hear loud footsteps.
"Where-?" Claire speaks before the wall separating the hall from the press room is no more and the monster stands right there. "Fuck! Claire get to the records room! I'll meet you at the dark room once I get to the waiting room and lose him!" Leon shouts.
"Damn it Leon! Let me save you for once!" Claire shouts before running up the stairs. She goes past the waiting room and takes the west office way for the heart door, but just as she exits the west office she hears claws. 'Great! A licker got in here!' she sees it and sets it on fire with her grenade launcher. She then goes into the room with the heart door and unlocks it. She goes in finds papers, a grenade, gunpowder, and a lever that belongs in the library. Just as she was getting ready to leave, Leon comes in the clover door.
"What?! Claire your still here?!" Leon is surprised to see her.
"I'm just leav-" she tries to speak.
"Then let us both go before it comes back!" he shouts. They run back to the dark room.
In the dark room they catch their breath. "Sorry for rushing you Claire, but the weirdest thing happened. Once I ditched him in the main hall, he went into the library, as I was hiding in the waiting room. I opened the safe and got two gun parts when all of a sudden he came through the club door. I was so shocked that he had got to the other side of the building so fast, that I went to the first place I thought of. But I had to deal with a licker in that hall too." he said.
"I see." Claire said understanding but is confused as Leon. 'How did it get to the other side so fast?' Claire thinks, it didn't make any sense. It was a tyrant, a zombified one. There is no way it had Albert's and Alex's speed.
"Anyways here, this will fit your JMB." he said giving her a high-capacity mag.
"Thanks, what else did you find?" she asks as she applies it to the handgun.
"A muzzle break. This baby is all complete now." he said showing off the Matilda.
"Ok let's develop this film and figure out our next steps." Claire said. Once the film develops they discover the combination to the locker on the third floor. "Ok. We'll spilt up again but meet in STARS office to unlock the armory. Claire can you go for the linen room?" Leon asks.
"Yes. I'll take the long way around." she said.
Leon went up to the third floor to open the lock and grab the ammo stored in it, before making his way back down. He arrives at STARS and waits for Claire. He hears fast footsteps followed by loud ones. Claire bursts in and turns with her handgun pointed at the door and he does the same but the creature walks past the room like it didn't want to follow them. They lower their arms and look at each other, "Weird again." Claire said as they both remember something similar in the main hall earlier.
"Well, let's relish the fact that it won't come in. Let's check out the armory." Leon said inserting the usb. After pressing a couple of buttons the barred door slides open and they go in. They find: a lightning hawk magnum and MQ 11 submachine gun.
"Now here is an upgrade. You can take the magnum." Claire said grabbing the machine gun.
"Ok, if your sure." Leon said grabbing the magnum.
"Yes, your better at head shots than me." she said. 'Once I get back to the island, I'll make sure to practice more and use different guns.' Claire was determined to improve herself. They check over their new weapons, "At least we now know why all that ammo was around and not only that the case that is in the underground has gun parts that can go with these." Leon said.
"Ok we will find a way back there." she said
"Oh, before I forget." Claire said taking out another safe box. They fiddle with it until it opens revealing the other spare key for the safety deposit room.
"Ok.. Let's stick together this time. We go back to the safety deposit room and get what's left in there, before going to the library and making a path that can take us to the only door in there we haven't gone through. That way will take us to the clock tower and the eastern storage room." Leon said.
"What happens if we come across the monster?" Claire asks.
"Then I'll-" Leon tries to say but is cut off.
"No this time I'll distract it." Claire said.
"No Claire-" Leon tires to speak again but she interrupts him.
"Leon, I am not made of glass. My brother trained me himself. While the situation is different from what he taught me, I'm sure the stuff I learned will help me get away from it." she said firmly.
"Ok.. but only if the situation calls for it." Leon said not happy. Before they leave, Leon grabs the USB drive and reverts back into a badge before pocketing it.
They go back to the deposit room, insert the spare key where the number three goes and grab two more hip pouches, as well as ammo. They make their way to the library, taking out the last zombie, before using the lever to lower one of the shelves.
As they make a path with the shelves, they hear loud footsteps coming from the main hall. "Shit! Let's book it!" Claire shouts as they finish the path. They climb up the ladder just as the creature came through the door. They run towards the door and enter the third floor balcony that overlooks the main hall.
They continue to run until they see a door on their right and enter it. They point their weapons at the door but strangely like before it didn't come in. They ignore it and explore the clocktower, even going into the room in the back to find gunpowder.
As they return to the clock room Claire speaks. "Leon this tower is missing a gear. A big one by the looks of it. It must be in the east storage room, its the only place we've haven't been in the station." Claire said.
"Ok, let's stick with the plan involving the monster." he said.
They peek out the door to see the monster looking around, it then went back into the library. They quietly get over the door leading to the east storage room. They shot at three zombie before finding useful items, including the gear and a heart door. "This is the last door to unlock." Claire said doing just that.
They go in, finding a knife as well a box that said electronic part. "Hey looks like we don't need to go back to the tower." she said. However when she opens it, it was empty. "Never mind. Let's go." she said, but as the exited the room the creature appears from the door that leads downstairs.
"Fuck! Get that gear to the tower! I'll meet you at Irons' office!" Claire shouts, dodging the monster, going around it and out the door it came through. "Claire!" Leon shouts as the monster goes after her.
Leon wanted to go after them but they need to get out of here. 'Claire.. stay safe.' he prays as he goes back to the clock tower. He moves around the gears like it said in the note and the bell tolls. But its yoke is weak and it falls bringing with it, a box. He checks it and finds the last electronic part they need.
He heads back to Irons office and waits for Claire. After ten minutes she appears at the door. "Sorry I took a moment but that thing wouldn't leave me alone. I was able to stop by that boarded up little room, the boards were gone, and found more ammo." she said giving Leon some ammo.
"Thanks, now let's get that pass." he said. They go into the private collection room.
Claire puts in the parts, moves some wires, and the barred door moves. Just as they go in the phone in it rings, they look at each other and Leon picks it up. "Hello?" he asks.
"Rookie put the girl on." Irons orders him.
"Why I'm hurt. I'm the new guy and your dissing me?" Leon says mockingly.
"Don't try to be cute, boy." Irons said.
"Why don't you come out? We'll have a man to man talk about this." Leon said.
"Don't forget I got the girl. Now put Claire on." he said threateningly. Leon gives the phone to Claire.
"Where's Sherry?" she asks him.
"She's safe for now. Did you happen to find a pendent after we left?" Irons asks.
"Yes." Claire said grabbing it.
"Good I want you to come alone, to the orphanage. It's in the neighborhood. But first you need to get that reporter's parking pass from the jail." he said.
"There's a pass in here." she said.
"That pass is a fake. Someone had thought they were being funny, pretending to be an officer, and I confiscated it when he was brought in." Irons said.
Claire check the pass over and he was right, it was a fake. "Damn." Leon said, he had not wanted Claire to see Ben after what the monster did to him.
"Remember you are to come alone." Irons said. Leon shakes his head at Claire, he was not about to let her go alone.
"There's camera, that's how I know you two are in there. If I see hide or hair of yours pretty boy, I'll kill the girl." Irons said before hanging up.
They are silent as Claire removes the electronic parts and they to the private elevator. "Leon.. I have to go alone. He's capable of anything." Claire said.
"Ok.. but its obvious why he wants you to go." Leon said as they arrive on B1.
"Yeah, but for Sherry we better do as he says." Claire said entering the garage.
As they walk towards the jail Claire speaks, "I've been thinking Leon. About the creature we've been seeing. You know how it seem to be fast? Fast enough to enter a room when it had gone the other direction?"
"Yes?" Leon asks as they enter the jail.
"No matter what it is, there is no way it can be that fast. I.. I think there's two of them." Claire tells him her theory as they enter the jail itself.
"You can't be serious?" Leon asks, he did not want to think that there are two of them as they walk pass the jail cells.
"I know it sounds crazy, but it is the only thing that makes sense." Claire said as they turn the corner to Ben's cell.
Claire gasps as she sees his corpse, "W-What happened?!" she asks surprised.
"That monster did this." Leon said. Claire puts the parts in, fixes the wires and the door opens. They get first aid spray, a tape recorder and the pass, but just as they leave the cell, alarms go off and they hear the doors to the cells open. Zombies come pouring out of the cells, "The door over there!" Leon said rushing to the door in front of him, Claire following. They get in but see the monster in black at the other end of the hall.
They wait for it to swing it's fist then they run behind it and turn the corner barely getting pass the zombies. They leave the jail but the monster knocks down a wall and grabs the both of them by their throats. As they struggle to breath, they hear the sound of a vehicle starting and a swat van rams into it, dropping them. They get air into their starving lungs, and Ada comes out of the van.
"Honestly, saving your asses twice. Why can't you two stay out of trouble!" she said walking over to the shutters.
"Hey! We didn't ask it to follow us!" Claire said as she recovers.
"Thanks for saving us. By the way where have-" he tries to ask when they see the van move.
"Oh come on!" Leon shouts as he and Claire point their guns, but Ada is as calm as can be.
"Why doesn't anything die here?" she asks aloud before she blows up the van with a bomb she put underneath it. The crumbles and they hear nothing more.
"Please tell one of you as a key card?" she asks as she turns towards them.
"Yes and this." Leon said tossing her the tape recorder. Ada catches it and they walk over to the shutters, Claire opens them.
Once they were up they walk up the road leading to the street, all the while they we're listening to the tape recorder. "Damn it Ben. You did not get nearly enough." Ada said as it stopped.
"What exactly are you looking for?" Leon asks.
"I'm looking for a woman named Annette Birkin. She and Umbrella are they ones behind this." Ada said.
Leon and Claire jolt at hearing the name 'Birkin', for that is Sherry's last name. They walk to where the road was destroyed, "That gun shop should get me where I need to go." Ada said.
"Wait do you know where a place called the orphanage is?" Claire asks.
"Yes, it fell under investigation after it was discovered Irons had been working there. It's behind the gun shop. Take that service alley and it will take you there." Ada said.
"Thanks." Claire said going over there, but Leon stops her.
"Claire.. Please stay alive and bring Sherry." he said, he knew he couldn't stop her from going and he didn't want to.
"I will." she said and they embrace. They separate, she then goes into the alley and makes her way to the orphanage.
She walks on a grated catwalk, reaching the end just before the stairs, she sees zombies and dogs around clustered cars. She readies her machine gun and takes care of the zombie at the end of stairs, before hopping over a dumpster.
She opens the gate and hits the dogs that try to come close, then heads into the basketball court. Grabbing some ammo and herbs, she leaves the court. Blowing away more mutated dogs, before reaching a bus that is her only way across.
She gets on and takes care of a zombie before getting off. Once she's off the bus she sees the orphanage. She rans over taking car of dogs before shutting the gate and locking it. She goes up to the double doors and enter the building. "Hello? I brought the pendent! Sherry? Irons?" Claire is confused as to why no one was here. She checks up stairs finding a messy nursery followed by a bathroom that had ammo and first aid spray.
She heads back downstairs to where a door once was and enters a hallway. Just as she turns a corner, Irons comes around it and grabs her. His face had been burned and he says, "Your fault! Too late!"
"Wha?!" Claire said and sees Irons face in pain, pushes him away from her. Something then bursts out of his stomach, she dodges it, and it disappears. Irons was dead from whatever it was, Claire continues on towards the room in hopes that Sherry is all right. 'Whatever happened to Irons couldn't have anything to do with the t-virus. So someone is using the g-virus?' Claire is puzzled as to how the g-virus got up to the surface.
As she passes the door, she goes around shelving that is in the way, before finding the room in a complete mess. "Sherry?" Claire calls but there is no response. Claire goes to the other side of the room to find a ladder in a trapdoor.
She climbs down it, goes down a dark corridor. "Sherry?" Claire calls again.
"Claire!" Sherry said. She was behind chain link fence.
"Stay put! I'm coming." Claire said.
They reunite, "I'm sorry I had you take me up the ladder Claire." Sherry apologizes.
"No, I should've paid more attention." Claire said.
"Where's Leon?" Sherry asks.
"Irons threated to harm you if he came here with me. So he went.. with a friend of ours." Claire said.
A loud thump is heard, they turn and see a monster all in black heading their way. "Run Sherry!" Claire shouts. They run down the hall, then stairs, before reaching an elevator. Claire smashes the button, "Come on! Come on!" she yells.
The doors close but it grabs the doors and starts to push them open. Claire gets in front of Sherry and readies herself for a fight when claws appear where the creature's stomach is.
They look over and see the monster from the underground facility, it had survived and was attacking the monster. Sherry takes a good look at it, and does a double take, "Daddy?!" she said shocked.
"What did you say?" Claire asks now shocked herself.
The eyeball monster rips the one in front nearly in half. It then backs up causing the two in the elevator to realize what it was doing. "Daddy, no!" Sherry screams as it rams itself into the elevator, causing its cables to snap. They all fall and Claire blacks out.
Leon watches Claire until she is out of sight. "You coming?" Ada ask opening the doors to the gun shop. He follows her in and looks around to see what can be used. He finds ammo, a grenade and a long barrel that can attach to his shotgun. He puts it together before walking around the mess when a man points a shotgun at him.
"Don't move." the stranger said.
"We're just passing through. We're not gonna hurt you." Leon said calmly.
"So you say. Here's what your gonna do, turn around, get out of here and don't come back." the man said.
"Daddy?" a girl asks in a raspy voice.
"Emma, get back inside." the man said not looking behind him.
"Sir, she sounds like she needs help." Leon said.
The man cocks the gun, "I'm her father, I'll help her once your gone." he said.
"Drop it." Ada said holding her gun.
The man said, "Not on your life."
Ada then sees the girl and turns her gun on her. "No!" the man shouts, putting himself between his daughter and Ada.
"She's in the last stages of turning. She need to be taken care of." Ada said.
"I'll be the one to take care of her." the man said.
"Ada... Leave them be." Leon said putting his hand on her arm. Ada lowers it and the man goes over to his daughter.
"Emma... Come on let's go back inside." he said.
"The police are idiots... They let this happen." the man said, picking up his daughter and they go back inside their home.
"Why didn't you tell him the truth?" Leon turns to Ada as he asked the question.
"Do you think anyone would want to believe that a pharmaceutical company, that is suppose to help people, are doing the exact opposite? With almost no proof?" Ada asks. A gunshot rings out and they leave down a different service ally.
"So why is Umbrella making viruses rather then cure them?" Leon asks her as they walk.
"Bioweaponry is pretty pricy for one but there is most likely a deeper reason as the why their making these viruses. However I have not found that reason." she said.
They arrive back at the destroyed road but see a construction path. "This better lead into the sewers." Ada said getting on the board.
"What's down there?" Leon asks following her.
"A lab called NEST, it is in fact under the RPD building. In there should be all the proof needed to expose Umbrella." Ada said. They jump down and see an entrance to the sewers.
"They way into NEST in the sewers? I heard that Umbrella had Raccoon city under its thumb for decades, but sewer workers are people. Surely not all of them accepted a paycheck from them." Leon said as they walk in.
"True, but when money doesn't work, I imagine 'clean up' crews were sent to take care of them." Ada said as they walk down the tunnel.
"The same for every important office in the city. How else do you think Umbrella had control until now?" Ada asks.
Leon is silent, 'I can't believe that all those people thought of their own purse rather than safety. That man was wrong, it wasn't just the police, it was the city itself. Claire... How do you fit into all this?' he thinks as they approach a doorway.
Suddenly the tunnel shakes, "Whoa! Earthquake?!" Leon asked surprised.
"Maybe, but it could be worse. Keep your eyes open." Ada said as she goes through the threshold, followed by Leon.
As they go down a narrower tunnel, when something moves at the end of it, but it was on the other side of the bars. "The hell?!" Leon shouts.
"Great, some kind of monster, the big kind. I would have preferred the earthquake." Ada said.
They head into a room with a gated door leading to where they saw the monster. Leon pokes his head out to look, but the creature made tracks. They walk down the tunnel to a small set of stairs that leads into another set of stairs. They continue walking down a narrow tunnel before a catwalk but it was a dead end. Leon takes a good look before jumping down, "Hey! There is another way. Why did you jump-?" Ada speaks but a loud noise is heard.
"You better stay up there." Leon said, realizing he may have jumped the gun. Then a huge crocodile comes up and roars. "Fuck!" Leon shouts.
"Get out of there!" Ada yells as the reptile moves. Leon turns around and runs as fast as he can in sewer water.
As he ran, the crocodile would speed up, trying to grab him. Thankfully Leon was able to read its moves and dodge it. Eventually, he sees a gas pipe as he goes down a waterfilled ramp and the crocodile bite the pipe. Leon grabs his gun and hits the pipe, causing it to explode, killing the overgrown reptile. "Overgrown son of a bitch." Leon said.
He hears footsteps above him, "Good, you made it. Let me get this ladder down." Ada speaks.
The ladder comes down and Leon climbs up it. "What kind of virus does that to an animal?" he asks Ada once he gets up.
"That's a good question. One that should be asked to Annette Birkin. She helped make the viruses." Ada said walking into the tunnel.
"So they sell infected people and animals to anyone who wants them?" Leon asks.
"No. Umbrella sells the viruses. What their clients do with them is their business." Ada answers.
They arrive at an elevator and go down. "Just remember, no matter how scary infected creatures can be. Think about those who made them and how they were made." Ada said as they arrive in the sewers. They go into a passage before Leon opens a door leading into a T junction, where they see a woman checking over a corpse.
"Who are you?" Leon asks holding his gun but it was Ada who responds.
"Annette Birkin." she said pointing her gun. Annette does not seem to be threated by them.
"Time to go." Annette said standing up. She then sets the body on fire, "Hand over the g-virus." Ada said approaching her.
Annette sneers before running, "Stop!" Leon shouts.
He and Ada follow her, but she has a gun and shoots at them. Leon pushes Ada out of the way, however he is hit by one of the bullets. Annette makes her escape while Ada tends to Leon.
"Why did you do that?" she asks him.
"It's my job to protect people, even well trained ones like you... But never mind that now, you should go after her." Leon said before he fell unconscious due to the pain.
Ada did want to go after her, but something makes her stay and treat Leon. She removes the bullet from his shoulder, thankfully it wasn't deep, and wraps gaze around his chest. She props him against the wall, removes her coat and place it on him. She then walks away from him and calls her contact.
"Hey its me." she said.
"Did you find Annette?" a man asks.
"Yes, but she is on the run. I doubt she has the virus, but it should be in NEST. Most likely she left it there because it's 'safe'." Ada said.
"Well you'll have to find your way in there. By the way, I've heard through people on my end that the president is seriously considering nuking the city sometime early tomorrow. You better get it before than or I'll leave you." the man said.
"All right, I'll have it before then." Ada said disconnecting.
Ada couldn't follow Annette the way she went, so she brings out a high tech gizmo that can hack machines. She blows a fan, climbs up a ladder into a ventilation tunnel. She walks along it ignoring the cockroaches and blows the other fan up. She unlock the door with her doodad, before jumping down. All in heels.
She leaves the storage room, going into a container room, where she hears zombies moaning. "Better get ready." Ada checks her gun, before going down the stairs. She finds that there is no power to the machine that can take her to the floor she needs.
So she has to look for it, blowing the heads of of zombies as she makes her way to the back of the room. She uses the machine and get the machine power, as well as grabbing ammo.
She heads back, takes it up where she sees Annette from a window. 'Got you.. never mind.' Ada watches as Annette leaves the room behind another door she couldn't follow her. She heads inside the room to find an alternate route, she found a door that needs power to activate it.
Just as she does that she sees the tyrant making it's way toward her. "It's got a mission but it won't get me easily." she said, flipping the switch.
She sees a fan and quickly diverts the power to there just before the tyrant hits her. She activates the fan, it explodes prematurely as the blades stay in place. She tricks the tyrant into going to the other side of the junk before sliding between the blades. It didn't follow her, she continues onwards and finds an incinerator.
She read a report about a discarded wristband that had to be destroyed, she goes up the stairs to open it.
She heads back down the stairs to go inside the machine, she finds the wristband but the door closes. Annette's face then appears when she pushes a peep covering aside, "You'll never get your filthy hands on G." she said.
"Do you think I'm the only one after it?" Ada asks her.
"No but they'll die too." Annette said before shutting the peep cover and turns on the incinerator.
"I love toys." Ada said using her gizmo to free herself from the machine. As she exits, she looks around but Annette had already left.
"Never underestimate a scientist." Ada said aloud. She heads over to the door, where the wristband she had unlocks it. She heads into a passage that Annette when she saw her through a window went through and heads left to a door. She is in a water treatment room.
She walks to where a moveable catwalk is, when a spotlight hits her. "Are we done?" Ada asks Annette, seeing her in a control room.
"Yes, no more games." she said starting up a machine.
"Do you know where your husband is? Or your daughter?" Ada asks trying to conflict her.
"That would be none of your business now would it?" Annette said. A pressing machine hits the catwalk she's on and Annette has it slide to kill her.
Ada moves fast but not fast enough when she had to grab a railing that the machine hit to keep her from falling. It was unstable and with her weight was ready to let go of the floor. "Shit!" Ada said as it gave way. She fall right into a garbage aera, with twisted metal landing in her leg and she falls unconscious but she wasn't alone.
Leon suspects something about Claire.
