Starr: Well, I see all hell will break loose.
Britt: Indeed.
…
It was a day at Knapford Station, Eagle was taking a train of utility vans, coaches were ready to be taken, and there were smashed bottles.
STH sat in his office, listening to the noise outside. The passengers were angry and rioting.
The stationmaster stumbled in.
"There's trouble in the sheds, sir. Henry's sulking, there isn't a train aside from goods trains, and the passengers are saying how this railway sucks." explained the stationmaster.
"Well, we cannot allow that." said STH as he grabbed his top hat.
…
When STH got to the sheds, he saw Gordon, James, and Henry looking very cross.
"Come along, Henry. Marklin got your train ready." said STH.
Henry glanced over, disgusted, as he clearly hated Marklin.
"Henry's not going!" said Gordon coldly. "We won't shunt like little tank engines, or Edward. That was Thomas' job."
"Yeah! We are important tender engines!" protested James.
"You fetch our coaches, and we will pull them!" concluded Henry.
"Tender engines don't shunt!" said the three engines at once.
STH, standing there for a moment, spoke.
"Really? We'll see about that." said STH. "Engines on my railway do as they are told!"
He then got in his car and drove off to find Edward.
"The yard's never been the same since Thomas left to run his branchline." STH thought sadly.
He then ran over a cow.
…
Edward was pushing some trucks into a siding when STH drove up, his car grill covered in cow.
"Leave those trucks please, Edward." said STH. "The three RGB stooges went on strike. So you should push coaches in the yard."
"I guess that will be nice." shrugged Edward as he left.
A bit later, Edward found coaches for the other three engines, and the trains ran as usual once more.
Gordon and/or Henry gave him some dirty looks, but Edward was used to it at this point, as he smiled like nothing was wrong.
…
Next day, Edward wasn't smiling anymore while STH checked on the progress. Edward was unhappy, as Gordon clanked past him and rudely hissed steam in his face.
"Bless me!" said STH, surprised. "What a noise!"
"They've been hissing me all day and night, sir!" wailed Edward, feeling how lonely he was as his age got to him a bit. "They say tender engines don't shunt! Last night, they said I have black wheels and even booted me out of the sheds!" Edward was so depressed as Eagle came past, glancing at him sympathetically.
"I don't have black wheels, do I?" asked Edward.
"You've got nice blue wheels, Edward." replied STH. "Besides, tender engines do and will shunt." He sat down on a chair briefly. "We do need another tank engine though."
"We've always got Marklin." said Edward.
"The other engines have their suspicions on him." said STH.
…
STH went to a workshop, and he was shown all sorts of engines by popular salesman Worker Rob.
"Alright, this big engine's a red LNER Class A1 Pacific, and her name is Petunia." said Worker Rob.
"Hello!" said Petunia.
"Interesting, but I do need a tank engine." said STH. "I'll consider having Petunia when I come back here."
"How about this engine, he's a yellow E2 tank engine. His name's Jimmy."
"What's up?" said Jimmy.
"Hm no." said STH.
STH was shown a few more engines, but at last, he saw a smart little green engine with four wheels.
"That's the one!" said STH.
"Well, his previous owner kinda dumped him here." said Worker Rob.
"If I choose you, will you work hard?" asked STH.
"Yes I will." said the engine.
"I'll name you… Percy." said STH.
And STH rode Percy to the yard.
…
Edward was almost instantly surprised when Percy came up.
"Uh hello." said Edward.
"This is Percy." called STH. "Will you show him everything?"
"Sure." said Edward.
STH then headed over to Gordon, James, and Henry.
"You three, I'd like you to meet Sodor's Number Six, Percy." said STH.
"Who's Percy?" asked Gordon.
"I think he means that little green engine." said James.
"Christ, he looks smaller than Thomas." said Henry.
"You think that Percy can shunt coaches and whatnot?" asked James.
"I'd be surprised if he can even move express coaches on his own." replied Henry.
Percy was a quick learner of what he had to do, and he and Edward spent a happy afternoon shunting trucks into proper order.
"You know, I'll be right back." said Henry.
"The hell are you doing now?" asked Gordon.
"I just wanna say hi to this Percy." replied Henry as he puffed out of the sheds.
"Hey green pipsqueak, what do you think you're doing over here?" hissed Henry.
But Percy let out a hellish shriek of "WHEEEEEEEEESEEESSSSSSHHHH", and it made Henry literally jump and run back screaming to the sheds.
"Oh my god…" panted Henry.
"What the hell was that about?" asked Gordon.
"HE SCARED ME!" replied Henry, trying to recover from his steam burns. "WHO THE F[BLEEP]K BLOWS STEAM ON ANOTHER ENGINE LIKE THAT?!"
"You seriously got scared of some steam?" laughed James. "I see why you said you'd be right back."
Gordon chuckled at this, all the while Percy and Edward were laughing their domes off.
"Impressive there, Percy!" laughed Edward. "I can't weesh like that even if I tried!"
"Oh that's nothing!" chuckled Percy. "You should hear them in the workshop sometimes! You've got to WEEEESH loudly to make yourself heard in there!"
…
Next morning, while the three big engines were sulking, Thomas arrived.
"Sorry I'm late, I had to deal with fish, again." said Thomas. He glanced over at Percy. "Who the hell are you?"
"This is Percy." said Edward happily.
"Huh. So the big engines giving you any crap?" asked Thomas to Percy.
"I scared the hell out of the green guy." said Percy smugly.
"I have a feeling that you and I are gonna get along quite nicely." said Thomas. "I assume STH wants help or something."
"Shsh, because here he comes" shushed Edward.
"Alright listen up, Gordon, James,.and Henry are all sulking in the sheds because they won't shunt like common tank engines." said STH.
"Common tank engines?!" snorted Thomas. "We'll show them what common tank engines can do!"
"So I literally shut them up in the sheds, and I want you three to run the line along with Eagle, 98462, and 87546." continued STH.
"That could work quite nicely, sir." replied Edward.
"Oh right, and Percy will help too." concluded STH.
"YAAY!- I mean, yes, sir." said Percy.
…
Later, Edward and Thomas both worked the main line alongside Eagle, 87546, and 98462, greeting each other as they passed by.
Percy puffed along the branchline. Thomas was worried about Annie and Clarabel, but both driver and guard promised him that Percy won't bump them or anything.
There were fewer trains, but the passengers didn't mind as much.
…
At the sheds, Gordon, James, and Henry were all cold, lonely, and miserable.
"I knew it. I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN!" said Henry angrily.
"What, we're out of a job?" asked James.
"NO! WE'RE GONNA END UP DYING BECAUSE OF GORDON HERE!" replied Henry.
"Who decided to listen to me?" remarked Gordon.
"We did it because we thought you knew what you were doing." said James.
"We need our jobs back…" groaned Henry.
87546 backed into the sheds and promptly laughed at their misfortune.
"What did you three idiots do now?" chuckled 87546.
Gordon, James, and Henry now wished they hadn't been so idiotic.
