Britt: Alright, the script's ready.
Starr: How does an engine just run away like this?
…
For the past two weeks, Henry, James, and Gordon were still miserable due to being literally shut up in the sheds. Henry had also beaten up 87546 for mocking them.
The three engines were longing to get out again.
"If you say your plan was great one more time, Gordon. I might push you into that turntable well." said Henry angrily.
At last, STH arrived. "I hope you are sorry!" he said. "And that you all understand that every single job on the railway is important. We've got a new saddle tank engine named Percy that helps pull coaches, and Thomas and Edward even worked the main line quite nicely. But I'll let you all out if you all work hard."
"Yes, sir!" said Gordon.
"We will!" said James and Henry.
"This No Shunting nonsense has to stop at once." said STH.
…
STH then told Percy, Edward, and Thomas that they could go off and play on the branchline for a few days, and each engine ran off happily.
They all had formed a nice friendship, with Edward being the guide, trying to get Thomas' mind on work and off booze or smoking, and guiding Percy on what trains to arrange for the big engines.
"Alright ladies, I'm back." said Thomas as he backed down on Annie and Clarabel.
"Thomas!" said Clarabel happily. Her and Annie had missed him very much. All the while, Edward and Percy were playing their favorite game with the trucks, said game being 'Smack The Trucks', which both engines were quite good at.
"Stop, stop!" screamed the trucks as the engines laughed while tidily arranging the trucks.
"Now to go see what Percy did to the branchline!" said Thomas as he whistled and took off.
"You'll love it!" called out Percy.
Edward, meanwhile, took some empty trucks to a never-before-seen quarry (he failed to notice that Percy had filled three of his trucks up).
"Okay Percy, while I'm gone. Look after the yard, don't blow it up like Marklin did that one time, see you later!" advised Edward as he ran off.
Percy was now left alone, but he didn't mind, as he liked watching other trains and being cheeky like Thomas.
"Hurry hurry hurry!" cheekily called Percy. The six big engines were very cross.
Well, Gordon was very cross. James tried to ignore Percy. Henry was also very cross. 98462 suffered a nervous breakdown. Eagle ignored Percy. 87546 had tried to hold back his rage.
…
Later on in the day, Percy had done a great deal of shunting, leaving two trucks in a siding as running off.
He then sat outside the nearby signal box and waited for the signalman to change the points so he could head back to the yard.
Percy was pretty eager to work, but was rather careless. He somehow blew up an abandoned house. Edward had warned Percy to be careful on the main line, and to whistle to the signalmen when you're there. Except Percy, having the same brainpower as wet sand, ended up forgetting to whistle. The nearby signalman, being named Jason, forgot about him.
Percy waited and waited patiently. His driver and fireman didn't whistle themselves, as they were a bit lazy.
He couldn't move, as the switch was still against him.
While Eagle briefly whistled as he ran past, pulling a train of trucks, Percy looked along the mainline.
"BEEP BEEP!" whistled Percy in horror.
There, rushing down the line, was Gordon with the express.
"Huh. What's that green blurry thing in the distance?" sniffed Gordon.
"That's Percy." said his driver.
"Oh. Wait, PERCY?! WHAT'S HE DOING ON THE MAIN LINE?!" cried Gordon..
"SIGNALMAN, WHERE YOU AT?!" wailed Percy.
"OHHHH!" roared Gordon. "GET THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY!"
Percy quickly slammed his eyes shut, preparing for the worst. His driver and fireman also stumbled around in desperation.
Gordon soon came to a stop just as Percy opened his eyes. Gordon was unsurprisingly very, very angry, but he wouldn't be angry for long. Percy had just begun to move.
"I WON'T STAY HERE! I'LL RUN AWAY!" cried Percy as he ran off backwards at a surprisingly fast speed for an engine his size.
…
Percy had raced right through Edward's station.
"Hi Edward, bye Edward!" said Percy.
Percy was also so frightened that he ran right up Gordon's Hill without stopping.
Eagle was just coming down from the opposite direction when he spotted Percy.
"Help me!" cried Percy.
"Sorry, you're on your own." said Eagle.
As Percy reversed down the other side, he was starting to get tired just as he somehow entered Lower Suddery.
98462 was just leaving Lower Suddery with a passenger train when he saw Percy.
"I AM TOO FAST FOR WORDS!" wailed Percy. "Oh my god, I wanna stop." But Percy couldn't stop, as he had accidentally left his driver far behind at this point.
"I got to lay off the booze." muttered 98462 as he left.
"I wanna stop! Please…" cried Percy.
Another signalman, this one being actually competent, noticed Percy's obviously in trouble and switched the points.
Percy puffed wearily onto an empty siding that ended with a pile of dirt.
"I wanna- I have stopped!" said Percy, briefly correcting himself as he relaxed on the so-called bank of earth.
"Oh never mind." said a workman as they dug him out. "You shall have a drink and some coal, and you'll feel much better."
"That would be rather nice." said Percy.
Gordon soon arrived with a winch in tow.
"Well done, little Percy! You started so quickly that you stopped a nasty accident!" said Gordon.
"I'm sorry I was cheeky, you were clever to stop." gulped Percy as Gordon helped out of the dirt.
"Damn right I was." said Gordon.
…
The two engines never said a word about this to STH, but they are both now good friends. Percy has toned down his cheekiness a bit, or at least tried to. But he is now always careful when going on the main line.
