Nothing Left

Chapter 1: Angel

Noah Puckerman woke up in the hospital, hearing Tracy Anderson yelling, "Where are my parents?" He raised the head of his bed as a nurse said, "I still don't understand how she and Mr. Puckerman aren't dead like the others."

Then she exclaimed, "Holy shit!" in reaction to Noah raising the head of his bed.

Noah saw Tracy in the room across from his and asked, "What happened to her parents?"

The other nurse in the room replied, "They were killed at the Naval base where you were stationed. It was bombed a week ago, and you two were the only survivors. Her grandparents are on their way and are bringing your mother."

Noah looked at Tracy, saying, "Can you see if she could be moved here with me? I'm sure she'll be calling for me either way, but it might help her if we're closer. She has two nicknames for me: Uncle Hulk when she is scared and Nono when she wants me."

The nurse chuckled and said, "We thought she remembered what happened when she woke up, screaming 'Nono' the day you arrived. Your mom has been staying with her grandparents. Her other grandparents are on their way here as well."

Soon, Burt and Norah entered Noah's hospital room as Carole entered Tracy's. Then Burt said, "Puck, I talked to Patrick before we came here, and according to Kurt and Blaine's will, you are Tracy's godfather. Rachel and the others will be here soon." Then he looked over at Norah.

Noah sighed as he said, "I know Quinn and my son are dead. When Rachel gets here, I want to talk to her alone."

As soon as Rachel arrived, she went to see Tracy first. Noah chuckled as Tracy yelled, "I don't want you, I want Daddy Hulk!"

Then a nurse came in with Tracy in her arms and put her in the other bed. Rachel soon entered, saying, "Tracy is my daughter, Puck."

Noah glared at her, crossed his arms, and said, "So? Beth is my daughter. I never got to watch her grow up. I won't even be able to watch my son have a life, Rachel! I regret giving up Beth every day! Now, Kurt and Blaine are giving me a second chance! I know. Tracy is your daughter, but she wants to be with me! Beth didn't choose to be your sister, Rachel! Yet, Tracy wants and loves me!" Rachel said nothing as she looked at Tracy before leaving.

A half-hour later, Burt, Carole, and Norah sat by Noah's bedside as Patrick and Pamela Anderson arrived. Patrick told Norah, "I spoke with Rachel about Beth and know Beth is your daughter. She was more concerned about Tracy not having a mother. In her rant, she called you Mr. P. By the way, Blaine showed me a picture of your gun closet once. You know Burt was lying about having all those guns, right?"

Norah chuckled as she said, "Puck was into paintball as a kid and used to shoot Sarah's dates with a paintball gun. So, I'm sure he will be Tracy's date's worst nightmare."

Tracy heard this and yelled, "Everyone out, but G' Pa Burt!"

As soon as they were gone, Tracy yelled, "G' Pa Burt, I chose Nono; not my dad or papa! Me! I knew Aunt Beth was his daughter and I love him because he is big like the Hulk! Today was the only day I saw Mama Rachel and I wanted to stay with Nono so he could watch me grow up! Yes, I only saw Nono twenty times in my life, but that's ten more times than Nono saw Aunt Beth! God took his son and my parents! I want Nono! Get it? Now, leave us alone!"

Then Noah got up and said, "Burt, wait. Stay. I'm sorry for all the crap I did to Kurt."

Burt tried to speak, but Noah cut him off, saying, "Burt, I never had a great relationship with my dad and looked up to you. Now, I lost Quinn like you lost Kurt's mom. Kurt and Blaine will never get to watch Tracy grow up. I know. Tracy should return to Rachel, but I love her as much as Beth. You lost Finn and Kurt, I lost my son. I'm sure my bullying Kurt didn't help you any after Elizabeth died. I mean, come on, Burt. It took forever to trust me at your house after you started dating Carole. Besides, I saw the look on your face when my mom told you about how I treated Sarah's dates."

Then Tracy giggled as she said, "Daddy, I won't date any boy who doesn't pass the pee pee test."

After they were released, Burt picked them up and chuckled at Tracy, begging, "Daddy, please, don't put me in time out when we get home!" Then Noah yelled, "You should have gone with Mama Rachel if you didn't want to go to time out! Because now that you are my daughter, I will not take it easy on you anymore! You will be sent to time out for calling me a poopy head! I'm not raising a little bully, and your days of being a little brat are over!"

Tracy started crying as Burt got a text from Rachel saying, "I'm in the car behind you. I found Kurt's will; he chose Puck as her godfather because of Beth. He lied to Tracy; I'm her godmother, not Quinn. What do you want to bet Tracy will charm her way out of this?"

Burt replied, "Jesse told me about the will already, and I know Tracy will charm her way out of time out. Sarah thinks Tracy is doomed and will regret not going with you. Norah thinks Tracy is Puck's second chance at fatherhood and that you'll return as Shelby did." Rachel didn't respond and soon passed Burt's truck as Noah put Tracy, crying, in her car seat.

Tracy was still crying when they got to Burt's house. Then Noah wiped his eyes before he took Tracy out of the truck. Noah followed Carole to the room Tracy would stay in when she stayed with them. He then put Tracy in a chair in the corner of the room. Then he yelled, "I love you, Tracy! I know you are sorry, but I'm not letting you become a bully like I was! Tracy, my dad never loved me or my sister Sarah and left when Sarah was your age! Your Grandpa Burt is the closest thing I have to a father! He was a bully, and his first wife was like Aunt Quinn!" Noah soon sat down next to Tracy and broke down, crying with Tracy while Burt and Carole left them alone.

Then they heard Tracy ask sleepily, "Am I your little girl, Daddy?" before Noah sang along with "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw as it played on his phone.

Before Noah drifted off to sleep, Burt sent a text, saying, "I would be proud to call you my son, Puck, and you are the best thing for Tracy."
