Camp Cretaceous

On their way to the Isla Nublar, among the passenger in the ferry boat is American-Vietnamese teenager wearing glasses name Dillon Pham is writing his journal.

Journal entry #1,

This was an excited day since there is an island theme park called Jurassic World. Not only that, my parents signed me up to the camp called the Camp Cretaceous. They think it will be good idea for me to go outside and have fun, so I should be happy too and have some fun to see the real live dinosaur. I sure hope to get along with other campers and get to see the real dinosaur soon when we get there.

He closed his journal and sees that they arrived at the docks. Dillon brings his own luggage and follows the other teenagers to the docks. There they meet with their camp counselor as he waits there to greet them.

"Welcome to Isla Nublar, campers." The man greeted, "You are the chosen few, the first kids in the entire world to ever experience the awesomeness."

Dillion looked around him sees some kids around his age or a bit older than him.

"That is Camp Cretaceous. I know, the trip from the main land was rough on some." He noticed the boy leaning on the docks. "Hello, Ben."

Ben gave him a thumbs-up before he heave on the water.

'Man, he has seasickness.' Dillon thought.

"But you made it! I'm Dave, head counselor." Dave said, "You heard that correctly; head honcho, big shot."

They heard an engine sound and turned around to see the jeep before it skid to brake. Opening the door is a woman.

"Ah, so sorry I'm late." The woman said, getting out of the jeep. "Welcome, campers! I'm Roxie, head counselor of Camp Cretaceous."

The kids looked at Dave, thought that he's the head counselor, who chuckled, embarrassed.

"Well, I-it's sort of a co-head counselor sort of situation."

"Is it?"

Dave cleared his throat. "Anyway. Some of you won contests to be here, some of you have VIP invites…"

The pink-hair girl point her phone at the teenage girl, who covered her face, not wanting to be in camera shot, next at Dillon, who waved smiley at the camera.

"…But for the next two weeks,"

then the African-American teenage boy and the other teenage girl and Ben.

"All of you will be getting the five-star treatment!"

"As our first campers, we've lined up exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of Jurassic World." Roxie said.

"Ooh!"

"Yes!"

"As well as kayaking, rock climbing, obstacle courses, and of course…"

"Dinosaurs?" The African-American boy blurted, making the other campers looked at him.

"Yes… Darius, plenty of dinosaurs." She said, "So, ready for an adventure?"

"Absolutely!" The pink haired girl said. "But I'm gonna need that speech a little shorter and really try to lean into the majesty of this place."

"Okay, we're going now." Dave said, "Let's get the seven of you to camp."

"Uh, there are six of us." Ben said, meekly raised his hand.

"Wait. Dino-kid, track-star, eye-glasses, internet girl, Texas. He's right. Where's seven?"

'Really, he gave us nicknames.' Dillon thought, sweat dropped as Roxie checked the clipboard which she sighed.

They all got on the jeep and headed to the helicopter landing pad where they waited for the seventh camper. They see the helicopter, descending down to the landing pad as they cover their face from the dirt cloud. Coming out of the helicopter was an older Japanese teenage boy.

"Greeting, my dudes. Kenji is here, so let the party commence!" He greeted before tossing his bag to Roxie and joins the group. "Put this in my room. So, what's your deal?"

Roxie threw his bag back, knocking him down.

"Okay, let's go." She heads to the jeep as the campers hops on the trunk.

Once they all boarded in, Roxie starts the engine and drives away. The campers yelped as the jeep drives fast and buckled their seatbelts.

"I hope you got my mom's note." Ben said, "I don't do well on windy roads."

"What's good, Brooklanders? It's your girl, Brooklynn, coming at you from the best place ever: Camp Cretaceous." Brooklynn said while filming. "Like and subscribe to join me as I unbox Jurassic World!"

She turns to her fellow campers.

"Okay I need you all to say who you are and a little bit about yourself. And, action!"

Brooklynn points her phone at Darius.

"Oh! Um… I beat this awesome VR dinosaur game. I'm Darius, by the-"

"I'm sorry." The teenage girl interrupted. "I just can't believe… you're Brooklynn!

She then shook her hand.

"I'm Sammy Gutierrez, total Brooklander! Kapow! Oh, and also, my family supplies all the beef for the park, and that's how I got here."

"Um… what's a Brooklander?" Darius asked.

"Oh, that just what my online followers call themselves." She explained.

"Uh, all twenty-seven million of us." Sammy added.

"Yep, that's why she's the only who gets to keep her cell phone." The track star girl exclaimed. "That's why she's famous."

"Hold on. Rich and Famous? Oh, meant to be." Kenji said before he took her phone and snapshot himself and Brooklynn.

Ben, meanwhile, heave over the jeep, much to Sammy and Dillon's dismay as well as the others are.

"Hey, you okay, Ben?" Dillon asked, but Ben heave over again. "Yeah, definitely car sickness."

As they drive to the camp, something ran passed the road, making Roxie brake and the campers yelped. Roxie looked at the road, thinking that she saw something.

"Um, Dave, what's going on?" Ben asked whole holding his stomach.

"Nothing need to worry about." He assured as he and Roxie readied his taser rod. "But you should all definitely stay in your seats."

"Um, should we be worried of what's out there?" Dillon asked.

"Not to worry, probably just a little critter broke out again."

"Oh, god." Ben moaned as the campers watches them for excitement.

Roxie and Dave looking around, cautiously for any signs of dinosaur breakout while holding their taser rod.

While Ben was holding his stomach, Darius heard a rustling sound behind them and looked at the bushes

"Guys?" He said as something is getting closer to them. "Guys?"

"What?" Dillon said.

Before Darius says something, a small dinosaur leaps out of bush and tackled Darius, making them shrieked in fear as Brooklynn, Dillon, and Ben fell off the jeep while Kenji, Sammy, and the other teenage girl backed away from it. Dairus got up and gasped to see the small dinosaur on him.

The dinosaur ran, but Roxie caught it in the blanket just in time before it gets away and puts in the cage.

"Crisis averted." She assured. "Oh, these things are always getting out their enclosure."

"A real live Compsognathus!" Darius gasped.

"Oh, please. It took a blanket and a cat carrier to catch it." Kenji scoffed. "Boring."

"Scared you pretty good." He retorted.

The girls giggled as Brooklynn snapshot photo to Kenji, who was annoyed. Dillon looked at the cat carrier, contain Compsognathus before the jeep move on.

As they rode to the jungle road, the campers sees the large gate ahead of them.

"Whoa!" Darius awed.

"Wow." Brooklynn pointed her phone.

"Whoa." Dillon awed.

"Whoa!" Sammy awed.

They come across the gate that says 'Jurassic World, Camp Cretaceous'.

"Welcome to Camp Cretaceous." Dave announced as the gate opened for them.

"Oh my gosh!" Brooklynn said as they passed through the gate.

"Whoo-hoo!" Sammy hollered.

"Yeah!" Darius hollered as the gate closed.

After passing the gate and road through the jungle, Roxie parked at the spot to the camp. The campers got off the jeep and becoming amazed of what they saw.

"Whoa." Darius awed.

"Look at that." Dillon said.

They see the camp that looks like a tree house with elevator, canopy, and the bridge that connects to the other trees.

"Hey, Brooklanders, check this place out! Is this not the most amazing place you have ever seen?" She said while filming.

"If you think this is cool, you should see my dad's penthouse in the main park." Kenji piped in.

Brooklynn sets her sights on the other girl.

"Yasmina! Hey, girl. So, as an elite athlete, how pumped are you for the camp?"

Yasmina walked away from the camera shot.

"Not a huge fan of being on camera." She said, shyly. "Or people."

She ran off, much to her disappointment. Brooklynn then set her sights on Dillon.

"Dillon, how is the guy like you wanted to be here?" She asked.

"Well, I was looking forward to have some fun in the camp since I've heard the Jurassic World is open to all visitors because a real living dinosaur." He said.

"This place is almost as big as my family's ranch back home." Sammy remarked as Roxie and Dave took their luggage to the camp roost.

"That's because when we're up and running, the camp will house five hundred kids and a hundred and fifty staff." Roxie explained.

"Listen up! Announcement time from your co-head counselors." Dave announced.

"Psst, still not a thing. Okay, everyone, there's some ground rules to cover. Curfew's at eight p.m. and lights out at nine p.m. sharp."

"What?" Brooklyn said.

"Lame." Kenji groaned.

"Fine." Yasmina said.

Everyone groaned and complained, much to Ben's approval.

"This is for your own safety. We are in a dinosaur-filled jungle. You must always keep your distance, or you could be seriously hurt, if not worse."

"Define 'worse'." Ben said.

"Cabins are up that-a-way." Dave pointed up.

"First one there gets a top bunk!" Yasmina shoved past Kenji before everyone else raced to the elevator, except Darius.

Dillon was eager to see what's it like up there as they reached the top level. He sees the Pteranodon skeleton hanging above them, a canopy shade, and a snack bar. They have boy's room and the room for girls only. As soon as everyone is settled in their room, Roxie announced that they would take them to see the most attractive event.

At sunset, The campers arrived at the zipline tower and was most amazed to see the herd of herbivore dinosaurs, especially Darius was amazed the most.

"Wow." He awed. "There's Brachiosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Apatosaurus, Ankylosaurus!"

"Wow, you really do know stuff, dino-nerd." Brooklynn said.

"Check out the… Brontosaurus." Kenji said.

"They don't have those here. Common mistake." Darius said before noticing the addition of dinosaur that he never seen before. "Are those Sinoceratops? When did you get those?"

"They are cooking up all kinds of dinos in that lab." Dave explained.

"Whoa! Where are they herding 'em to?" Sammy asked.

"They're herding them back to their nighttime enclosures." Roxie said.

"Enough banter. It's zip-line party time!" Dave said, holding the zipline that leads all the way to the other tower.

"Me?" Ben said as he was buckled in. "Maybe Yasmina should go first, or… Darius? Uh… or Dillon! I really don't-"

Dave pushed him as Ben yelled in panic as he zips on line. Yasmina goes first, next is Sammy, Dillon, Brooklynn, then Kenji, and lastly, Darius.

Dillon looked down to see all the dinosaur he seen and he could never imagine that he could see them up close as the Brachiosaurus notice them as they zip passed them.

'If my family was here, we could have some fun here in Jurassic World.' He thought as he made to the other tower.

When it's time to head back to the camp, everyone head to their bunks and sleep for tomorrow as Dillon looking forward to what will they do tomorrow. This is going to be the best camp that he ever experience as he sleeps.
