I am just sharing my love for these characters and worlds. Thanks for understanding! Happy reading! 📚✨
Gojo was a lot of things; most of the things you have heard about him are facts. He was strong, good-looking, cocky, eccentric, overwhelming, and untouchable. The strongest. But he is never heartless. Despite how he treated them, he cared for his students and colleagues. Perhaps more than he liked to admit. Geto Suguru was the proof of that when he lost him.
But he had to be the strongest and the strongest cannot show weakness. One small chink in his armor and his enemies will rush like a horde of hungry sharks. Gojo knew there was a bit of irony in that. He, the strongest, could not save his best friend. The strongest could not save what mattered most to his soul.
When he first met Kazuya, he was unsure how to treat him other than how he treated the rest. Of course, when he discovered the kid's ability to replicate curse techniques similar to Yuta, he knew he had to take the kid under his wing before the old fossils got any ideas on killing the kid.
Gojo almost wished Kazuya was a regular sorcerer because his curse technique is completely and utterly broken. The fact that his curse technique was just Yuta's copy ability if fused with Megumi's Ten Shadows on steroids was utterly unfair.
Kazuya's limit of having ten familiars seemed pointless when those ten could have abilities from other sorcerers combined or, worse, based on fictional characters, with Kazuya being able to use those same abilities his familiars wielded. Gojo could already see a shikigami version of himself with the power of Superman added to his limitless and six eyes. That was just overkill.
Gojo wasn't even sure how to deal with Kazuya if it ever came to him and the kid was coming to blows. Thankfully, his student was a lazy bum and a complete idiot. He would let it slip because the first time Kazuya summoned a fictional character, he was overwhelmed.
Gojo slightly shivered at the memory of how unhinged Kazuya truly was when he summoned Big Head or The Mask from the comics. Thankfully, Kazuya managed to bring himself out of that influence and undo the anchor holding the familiar before it got out of hand.
All in all, he had a good grasp of Kazuya's character. A week ago, when Kazuya claimed that a cursed spirit was using his best friend's corpse, he was pissed and skeptical of his student's claim. Even with the binding vow, Gojo was still in a bit of denial but he knew Kazuya was a terrible liar with that twitchy nose of his.
So here he was, sitting in the backseat of the car, trying to find flaws behind Kazuya's reveal, but Gojo found it difficult to rein in his emotions, his mind a tumultuous sea of anger and frustration. Thoughts of Kazuya lingered, a silent question echoing in the recesses of his mind: How long had he known? Why hadn't he said anything to him?
A bitter understanding settled within him. Kazuya had no evidence or proof to offer, trapped in a web of secrecy and shadows. But deep down, Gojo knew the truth. Kazuya wanted to handle this threat alone without drawing anyone else into the dangerous game.
Gojo couldn't help but sigh inwardly, his thoughts drifting to Kazuya's complex character. He was like Megumi in some ways, both burdened by a sacrificial complex, but there was a stark difference. While Megumi prioritized the lives of others over his own, Kazuya was willing to risk everything to emerge victorious, even if it meant sacrificing others in the process.
In simple terms, Megumi was the hero you see in shows. He is the one who sacrifices his life so the world can move on. Kazuya was the avenger, the anti-hero. He was the type to send people to their deaths if it meant winning but he also avenged those deaths. Though Gojo can tell Kazuya didn't like this approach, he can see his student's attempt to change his mindset.
On the driver's seat, Ichiji was sweating up a storm. He didn't know what could have caused Gojo to be in a bad mood but he was terrified as they made their way to the place where Gojo's mission was said to be.
"What the hell did you do, Kazuya!?" Ichiji cried.
Kazuya Pov
I sighed while sitting on top of a railguard and made a loud sigh. Watching the clouds move, I frowned when I noticed the rain clouds. I hated the rain because of how loud my rooftop will be when the rain drops. There are a lot of things on my mind right now but I'm confident that I can sit and rest in peace when I get rid of Kenjaku much sooner than I thought
I also finished making another set of deals with several fictional characters, which I can now summon. It was the most mentally exhausting experience. I'm starting to think I should ask for business tips from Nanami or Principal Yaga.
I already managed to make a deal with several OP characters but I'm a bit annoyed that there's a specific condition for me to gain access to their abilities. Not that its much of a problem since I can just summon them mid-fight.
A bird landed on my shoulder and I didn't mind as my mind was still focused on how to fully utilize my curse technique. Then I thought about making a temporary binding vow and binding it to create a temporary shikigami.
For example, instead of summoning Pac-Man and making him take up one of the slots forever, I could summon him for a specific task before it despawns once the objective is met. Then I wandered about what sort of domain expansion I would have. The true one is not the one I have to borrow from my familiars.
I had a theory that it would be like Yuta's domain or something completely different. Still, the problem with having too many domains is that you can't be sure which is yours. This isn't much of a problem but the fact remains that I'm using something that isn't mine.
I looked over to my phone, which had the Fate series wiki on screen. There are so many characters to choose from and I'm having second thoughts on each one. I want to summon a waifu badly but I also want a genuine relationship. I don't want a girlfriend with a 'yes, sir.' persona.
I need someone to keep me grounded—someone who keeps me in check when I'm high in power. Just when I've finally made up my mind, my phone starts ringing like it's got a personal vendetta against silence. I check the caller ID and see Todo's goofy grin staring back at me.
...
Oh great, its this guy again. Why I keep encountering weirdos is something I don't want to know. "Yo." Accepting the call, I was greeted with the loudest yell of this day, only rivalled by Gojo.
"BROTHA!" Todo yelled through the phone in excitement.
"sighs Todo, I told you not to call me that." I rubbed my head just from the migraine that I was feeling from talking to this guy.
"Ah, come on, brotha! Where's the love?" I could picture this guy just making a dumb grin when he said that.
"It died in the ditch. Now what do you want?"
"Just checking up on you, brotha; a man of your caliber should be proud of his taste in women."
My control slipped and the poor bird on my shoulder suffered for it. The bird turned into a monstrous creature but I was able to fix it. I knew answering that dumbass question was going to bite me in the ass one day.
"I still remember the day we became brothers. It was the best day of my life!" Todo yelled through the phone in nostalgia.
"And my worst day," I thought to myself. It was during the exchange event that I accidentally entered that I encountered Todo. Needless to say, I got my ass folded in five seconds but if it wasn't for Todo, I would have never figured out how to summon Hakumen. The only saving grace I had was that Todo went way too easy on me. I still have bruises and cuts but at least he didn't suplex me or smash me into a building.
Yeah, Hakumen only showed up whenever Gojo is around. Back then, summoning him was a hassle but my fight with Todo gave me the guide I needed. Of course, my damn mouth had to go on autopilot when he asked me about my preference.
I have a thing for women with muscles and a big ass. And when I saw muscles, I didn't mean like bodies of a hulk. I mean shredded or lean.
"Stop making me sound like a perv with no dignity!" I hissed on the phone.
"Anyway, brotha, I was calling about the exchange event."
That made me freeze. I had been so focused on gaining more power and going after Kenjaku to stop the Shibuya arc from happening that I forgot about Sukuna.
My sudden silence got Todo's attention and he said,. "Don't tell me you forgot about it!" He laughed.
"I need to go," I said. Todo must have caught the panic in my voice, as he got serious as well.
"Wait, there's another reason why I called. Be careful, brotha. I heard some rumors about someone asking a lot about you," he whispered.
How many times do I have to freeze up with the news? Shit, did Kenjaku figure me out? No, I'm sure that I played my role perfectly. So who could it be?
"Thanks for the heads up, Todo. I'll keep an eye out," I said.
"No problem, brotha. Stay safe out there."
With that, I ended the call and put my phone in my pocket before making a plus symbol. "Multi-shadow clone Jutsu!" I conjured five clones before giving the five orders. The original five will create more clones to scout the city and find the place where Megumi's group was about to fight a cursed womb and Yuji will be forced to release Sukuna.
Now why didn't just spam-make clones? The problem Naruto didn't show was that Naruto had a filter that let him process massive amounts of information without suffering brain damage when dispelling thousands of clones. I don't have that kind of filter, but my clones do, so to work around that problem, this is my solution for now.
It didn't take long for my clones to find them and I immediately summoned Ainz's game avatar to make a portal. The familiar Overlord opened a rift to our destination and I wasted no time jumping in.
On the other side, I saw Megumi talking with Ichiji about evacuating the area. I rushed towards them. "Megumi! Where's Itadori?" I yelled in panic, knowing I was running out of time.
Megumi must have been surprised since I never spoke like this. "He stayed behind to distract the special grade. He's going to release Sukuna as soon as I give him the signal."
Fuck, that's not good. "Did you?" I asked, hoping that I still had time to stop Yuji from freeing Sukuna.
"I'm sorry." Megumi's tone was filled with disappointment for his inability to fight the special grade.
Shit, that means anytime now, Sukuna's going to show up here soon. "Ichiji, get out of here now. Call in Gojo," I commanded.
"What about the two of you?" Ichiji's troubled expression made me feel sad for the guy, who was used by the higher-ups to send Yuji to his death.
"We'll hold off Sukuna as much as we can. Now get out of here." Ichiji didn't argue and drove off, leaving us to stand in the downpour.
"I'm sorry." Megumi again spoke with self-hatred.
"It's fine; we just need to hold the line and hope Ichiji contacts Gojo fast enough before." I froze when the forboding feeling of death erupted from my body. Both Megumi and I turned to where the feeling came from and saw Yuji. Sukuna is standing right behind us.
"Ho, its you two," Sukuna grinned. "Interesting. Very interesting." He cupped his chin, looking at Megumi.
Megumi and I went on guard, readying ourselves for the fight. I wasn't worried since most of the conditions for me to use the powers of the fictional character had been met but Megumi wasn't.
I also don't want Sukuna's attention on me but sadly, fate had seemed to be fucking me because Sukuna just said something that confused the hell out of me. It also made me regret having made a deal to get mind-reading powers.
"This brat's curse energy output..." Sukuna thought with clear interest while looking straight at me. "It's increasing without the brat even knowing, which means this energy I'm sensing from him is merely a glimpse of his true power. That curse technique of his also reminds me of the Zenin. His body... its perfect for me."
I couldn't help myself from sighing in frustration, wondering if I had done something horrible to deserve the king's attention.
